The House Tour: A Cozy Retreat on a Rainy Day

As I walked through my home, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this space that has been with me for so many years. The room is not yet fully complete, but I'm excited to share it with you today as part of our house tour. I've kept alive for so long, and I don't know how I've done it, but I've managed to make it my own little sanctuary.

The first thing that caught my eye was the eucalyptus in the bathroom. I really love the way it adds a fresh scent to the air, especially when I'm taking a shower. Sometimes, I do like to change up the decor in this room, and I've been thinking of adding a little mini tree to the space. I also want to get some wood storage things to put all my facial stuff and lotions and so on into. It's going to be a great way to keep everything organized and tidy.

As we turn the corner, you'll see the bathtub area, which is my favorite part of the room. I always like to keep the blinds open a little bit, even when it's raining outside, as it creates a cozy atmosphere in the room. On rainy days like today, there's something so calming about watching the rain from the comfort of my own home. And, if I'm lucky, I might even get to enjoy some fresh greens from the shower.

I do need to mention that there are a few things in this space that could use some TLC. The batteries for the lights and some other fixtures are running low, so they're not on today. But, overall, I'm really happy with how this room is coming along. It's going to be a great retreat for me, especially on days like today when all I want to do is curl up with a good book and enjoy the sound of the rain outside.

As we move on from this space, you'll see that it's not just one room, but rather different areas of my home. We have a linen closet, a closet, and even a bathroom. Each one has its own unique character and charm, and I love them all for different reasons.

One thing that I do want to mention is the lack of decor in some of these spaces. I know it's not ideal, but I'm hoping to get everything decorated and furnished soon. The craft room is definitely at the top of my list, as I've been itching to create a space that's full of natural elements and textures.

Speaking of which, let's take a quick break from the tour and check out some of the goodies I picked up from Hobby Lobby for my craft room. I know it's not exactly what I need right now, but I just couldn't resist treating myself to a few new items. The first thing that caught my eye was this adorable little wicker basket. It was on sale for 50% off, so I knew I had to have it. I love the natural jute look and feel of it, and I think it's going to be perfect for storing papers or other craft supplies.

Next up is this beautiful set of flower-shaped bird decorations. They're just the cutest things, and I know they'll blend right in with my countryside-inspired decor. The colors are so soft and muted, and I love how delicate they look. At just four dollars each, it was a steal! And, because they were on clearance, I got to pick them up for an even better price.

I also fell in love with this magazine holder, which I think is going to be perfect for my craft room. The wicker detail and the metal accents are just so on-trend right now, and I know it'll add a nice touch to the space. And, because it's from Hobby Lobby, I feel like it's just the right size and style for my needs.

Finally, let's talk about these hooks that come with the basket. They're just the perfect little touches, don't you think? I love how they add a bit of functionality to the basket while also adding some visual interest. And, because they're metal, they'll blend in nicely with the other decorative elements in my craft room.

be fun to do like a rainy house tour here's what the sky looks like right now i absolutely love the rain i find it completely cozy and the house just has a different ambiance just the lighting's different you know the lamps are on it's just ultra cozy and i don't think i've ever done a rainy house tour period and especially not in this house i'm even gonna take you guys into the office again i'm going to take you guys up to the guest bedroom the media room and then i thought we could also do a haul i have a few things from hobby lobby so i'll share those with you guys i just got back from getting donuts so let me show you how good those look oh my god right this is for two people okay all right so let's go ahead and get started and the first room is going to be my office i will link all of the videos where i decorated each room just in case you're kind of curious where i got certain things certain pieces i think those will be listed in those videos so the first space is my office and i absolutely love how it turned out this is what it looks like on a rainy did you just hear that thunder just perfection this is basically what it looks like on a rainy day i have on my lamps those were actually in the butler's pantry but they've been moved here i still have not gotten the desk you guys from nebraska furniture mart however i did actually find the exact same desk on amazon so i'm going to cancel the order from nebraska and then just order it from amazon but yeah it's just a really cozy space the lamps just really makes me want to be in this room and i have this candle burning i mean there's just something really special to me about you know setting up a space and making it really cozy it's just kind of like a planner as well i feel like the the statistics say that you know if you look at a planner you're more likely to complete the items on that planner and i feel the same way in terms of just like keeping a space nice and clean and then like your favorite candles or whatever going it just i feel makes the space more inviting so here is this angle got both of my computers up and then you can see my tv is going on there i'm watching one of my favorite uh one of my newer favorite youtube channels i have these led lights on and then i also have them on up there so they're kind of flickering like a real candle sorry for the glare on these frames they're actually pretty cheap i might eventually upgrade them so that it's just easier to see the prints but this room was definitely inspired by bridgerton in a way so loxie follows me into this room as well and that's just my dry erase board i have some like personal stuff on it so i just simply turned it around but this room is just nice and cozy for the entryway i wanted to show you guys this section right here i don't think it's actually ever been on camera but these are my daughter's senior pictures i have so many of them and i love them so much so that's why you basically um really only see her at the age of 18 in her photos but i've got to stop doing that because you know there needs to be some like baby pictures of her around the house but anyhow so i put these pictures here in the last house they were actually in the dining room but i really love them in this little nook and then when i swivel around this is the entryway also has its own decorating video as you can see for a rainy day i keep the lamps on because otherwise the space would be really dark plus again it just adds to the cozy factor just like how simple um i feel like my entryway is simple but yeah so we got the lemons there that hey y'all sign is so so cute and then the lemon tree and then if i swivel around this way we've got the entryway guest bathroom and this is the state that it stays in even if it's not a rainy day i always have a candle going um just to you know when you walk in through the door i just want to make sure that the house smells really lovely and today i have a dollar tree candle going so the ambiance again is just very charming and relaxing as well and i'm telling you that just for me personally it really does affect my mood all the lamps and the candles it just makes me feel completely relaxed but yeah so i just keep the light turned off in here i really haven't had to change much i changed this section right here what i had before wasn't working and this definitely is great i'm still working the countertop space though something about this corner needs to be done so that hasn't quite been figured out yet loxie wants to say hi um or not um so right out of the entryway we've got this section here which is my library another one of my favorite spaces and yeah ultra cozy so i'm just keeping the lighting just how i naturally would keep it you know during a rainy day so you can really see the string lights up there and then some of the led lights in the bookshelves yes there's going to be a fourth bookshelf but i really don't know what's going on with nebraska furniture mart it's not scheduled to arrive until october and it's decorated for summer time so this room has a sunflower theme and then we've got some cascading greens going on over here and i love this part too we've got some greens tucked into a lantern kind of like growing wild out of it and then yeah so these lights are super cute you can see how i strung them up on the curtain rod i really love this effect it's controlled by a remote so super easy to turn on and off and then this couch just has like i don't know how i had that before but really comfy i love this corner too the mirror with the greens and then when i swivel this way oh it's so pretty and you can see i added the sunflowers here also has its own decorating video and then it has its own summer decorating video so lots of different videos here and then i've got a rug down and then this oversized chair is so comfortable so that you can kind of see the room from this perspective and then you can also see i have some more little twinkle lights in that shelf oh are these not on did i forget to turn these on yeah there we go these are actually from dollar tree and i want to do it to all the books i just think it will look really sweet and charming so i went ahead and turned off that light because usually there's not a light there but this is a little i don't know do you call this a hallway just like a little entryway off of the garage and then that is the laundry room which we're not going to go into today if you guys watch this original decorate with me it's remained the exact same and it's worked out really well just to kind of squeeze in here just a mirror there we go and then once we go this way we've got these stairs which we'll do last and then we've got the living room and this is what it looks like on a rainy day i have all of the lamps on in here it just sets a really cozy vibe console table and then over here we've got the main living space in this chair it's pretty much where my daughter sits all the time i never really sit in this chair i've got this lamp on this is a new addition so if you um have haven't watched the last couple of my videos uh those pictures of my daughter were there and sorry about the camera it's going to like try to change its lighting to adjust but i think i also want to add some green some type of like green garland or something cascading kind of like right there in the library i'm gonna do something similar here and then the fireplace the basket of blankets really love it i don't have any of those candles on i just yeah i don't know why but those candles i do tend to forget to actually turn on and those are battery remote those are not those are on a timer and then here's the console table uh any time that it rains i always have to have some type of movie that i feel like correlates to the weather and the top two for me is clue and goonies just because the weather in those movies are like rainy thunderstorm here's what the couch looks like the couch is still under construction if you will haven't quite figured out the pillow situation working on it and this is loxie's new setup um usually her bed is here but i've been keeping her bed in my room and she really loves the space i just kind of started noticing that loxie doesn't really want to sleep in the bedroom anymore i i don't know you know if she's just obviously more comfortable in this space just because of like what she's going through i don't know but she does prefer this spot right here and then hopper sits there with her and then just to show you guys i always have my laptop somewhere near me so it is just sitting right here and then my favorite little corner all of my books i keep all of my books on this arm that i'm currently reading and then i've got my little charging station here with my phone and my air pods and then this lamp is on as well see the curtains the curtains are always open they're not meant to be drawn because they don't take up very much width anyway so they're just meant to kind of frame the window and then this is the view of the living room all right so now i'm going to go ahead and turn off the lights so that you guys can just see what the space looks like without the lights on because really what i try to do during a rainy day is not use overhead lighting again it adds to the really cozy factor so really all i have on are led candles lamps and some twinkle lights but this is basically what the space looks like you can see how much of the lights from the kitchen it really puts off into the space um let's go ahead and go here this is my butler's pantry area and i'm not sure why there weren't already cabinets installed here they should have matched exactly to what is in the kitchen there should have been white cabinets with the same granite and then white cabinets up here but for some reason those weren't put in so for right now this is what i've done this has also been an updated piece and i really like how it turned out i think it's really sweet and simple as you can see the the lamps are gone and they're in my office i think the space looks a lot better i have these two here just because it's just convenient you know for my tea and for my coffee so and then we have the cute little lemon theme and from the library it's just a really hard space to give you guys a good visual of but this is what it looks like from here and then also if i turn this way to the pantry door we've got another wreath and then we have that decorative piece there back over to the living room these are the stairs that leads up to the second floor i have not decorated this space yet i haven't quite figured out how i want to tackle the staircase decor i'm not going to rush it because i don't just want to throw things up figure out exactly what i want to do and i may never actually decorate the actual walls i may just leave it plain and simple just like this but i'm sure eventually i'll probably throw something up i just haven't quite figured out what i want that decor to look like i do however want to do something with the top space i feel like if i'm going to keep these walls blank i need something green there and i think the best thing would be like a little tree kind of exactly how i did over there in the corner of my kitchen nook back there you see there once we reach the top of the stairs here's the space again yeah it definitely needs a little something but comment down below let me know your suggestions should i just do a little tree or what do you guys think um this way would be my daughter's room she's doing some additional school stuff so we're not going to go in there today and then when we go in here this is the media room and we've got the lamp on i don't have curtains installed up on here either quite yet but it's in the works and then these are the newest posters i do change these out for like seasons and holidays absolutely love doing this it was something that i really wanted to do for a really long time and then when i lived in the last house i started doing it but then i only i never changed them out for holidays or seasons so i knew that when i moved it was something i really wanted to to do and so i have been doing that and i've loved every minute of it so we've got labyrinth bernie goonies and risky business we've got on mr mom this is another movie that i do like to put on for a rainy day just because there is like a thunder rainy part in it but yeah so mr mom is on tv so anyways so step back you can also see that there's green in this color palette as well and then this little chair has the black and white this actually was the furniture in the living room at the last house so it's been up here it actually needs to have a good clean i'm going to have a company come out and clean this couch and then probably the carpet as well and then when you go this way you can see that this is the downstairs bloxy sitting right there no decor or anything really up on this section actually i thought i'd go ahead and open it and show you guys you can see that i have a bunch of extra frames because in the last house i had a ton of movie posters up um you can see groundhog's days there and then all of the games all of the dollar tree organization i absolutely love this um it's just like the bottom part right here needs some help but yeah so there's that and also you can see i'm just trying to match the colors as well using black organization and then some white at the top when i spin around this way we've got this bathroom here so this is what i consider another guest bathroom and what i'll be using you know once my craft room is done this will be the bathroom that's closest to me in that room and there's also a video on this as well i'll link it down below i did a dollar tree diy there which i think is so so freaking cute and i don't normally keep the light on in here so i just put on like the softer light for this video just to kind of keep the mood you know still kind of like dark and rainy but yeah nothing really different has been done here since you guys saw the original video i do decorate this space for halloween and christmas but really other than that i don't i don't do any sort of um seasonal decorating or anything maybe in the future but just hasn't been on the to-do list because there's so much more to do you know in the rest of the house but you can see all the black features here really love it it was really fun to just kind of go outside of like my normal style of decorating so the upstairs has been a lot of fun for me but yeah so love this space and then when we turn this way we've got two rooms here this is going to be the craft room but we're not going to look at that because i'm working on the decorating it's going to be a whole reveal for you guys so that's just going to remain closed and brace yourselves because my guest bedroom right here is not clean and this is what my guest bedroom is looking like right now i wanted it to be nice and clean for you guys but unfortunately because i'm redoing the craft room there's so much going on i have to use the space to pull things out of the craft room put it in here i also have some decor i'm not sure what i'm going to do with yeah i've got you know decor that needs to get put up this is valentine's day the row behind it is easter and then my daughter came home so she's got her luggages so i got to get those put up and unfortunately like i said the space has just really been holding things also on top of that if you've been following me you know that i'm just not i'm not this furniture isn't gonna be it i'm gonna be updating this still kind of kicking myself for even buying it in the first place but i'm going to be switching this up through the living room is this little mini hallway where i have yet another mirror this is actually how i had it set up um in the last house as well so it's kind of similar um so i've got some metal decor there and a mirror this little plant but i might be changing these photos i might be doing some from like when she was younger and then through the doors is going to be my master bedroom i recently just decorated this as well for summer time so i switched out those prints for a beachy print i did want to surprise you guys and have this room furnished with the curtains and as a matter of fact i just tried to install them today but the window is curved and i'm sorry but it's just like going to get dark but the window is curved so i had to buy these like curved rods from amazon unfortunately they're not the correct length and they have to be the right length or the part where the rod bends it just wasn't lining up so unfortunately yeah i could not get the curtains up i'm gonna have to do something different i can either obviously have somebody custom make a curtain rod or i can maybe do like singles or something so i really wanted for today's video to have the curtains up but yeah like i said didn't happen but i gave it my best shot so over here this is where loxi's bed is and then i've got the bed may this has been my favorite way that i've made my bed i also love decorating the space for holidays as well and coming for the first time is going to be a halloween theme this year i've already planned the whole thing out so i can't wait for you guys to see it i know you're gonna love it and then you guys for most of you who watch all my videos you know that i decorate this space like it's mrs clause's layer for christmas so anyways this is what the room looks like from this perspective it's pretty simple on this side i have my one real plant that i've kept alive for so many years i don't know how i've done it this room is also not fully complete but i want to get included into today's tour i have my uh what is this called i don't know but it's it's doing the um eucalyptus the name is escaping advantage and do like all the things for it but anyway so now i'm gonna end this video with a quick little haul show you guys what i got from hobby lobby for the craft room so the first thing is this a magazine holder or like what do they call this i don't know what they call this but also on sale i'm also really loving wicker right now in this moment just it also kind of matches like the color of the woods that i use so i really love that just like the natural juteness to it i guess i don't i don't think that's it but and then i also love that there's like this black metal detail which is also very much an element that i use in my decor like you just saw throughout the house i don't know exactly how i'm gonna use this maybe i'll put coloring books in here or maybe i'll use it as actual decor instead of like storing something maybe i'll put like greens you know like my usual stuff metal detail but then it has like the touch of wood has these hooks here i don't know i just feel like from a decorating perspective i can definitely um do something really pretty and unique with this i love this piece so much i talked about it on my vlog and how like a deal that i got from this because it was on clearance um i can obviously use it as like sorting papers in my craft room which i might do all right so anyways that is it for today's video i hope that you guys enjoyed if you
