**Motorola SAS Smartphone Review**
The Motorola SAS smartphone is a device that has left me with mixed feelings about its performance and features. On one hand, I was impressed with the overall build quality and design of the phone, which feels premium and well-crafted in my hands. The device also gets a lot of things right, such as the enhanced feel, good battery life, and decent rear-facing cameras that can shoot video up to 1080p.
However, there are some aspects of the smartphone that I was not too impressed with. For one, the camera performance is not as expected, especially in low-light conditions. The phone's 32-megapixel rear-facing camera struggles to capture good shots at night or in dimly lit environments, which can be frustrating for users who take a lot of selfies during these times. Additionally, the front-facing camera is also not up to par and fails to deliver decent results in low-light conditions.
Another aspect that I was disappointed with is the SIM card slot. The phone only allows for one physical Nano-SIM card, and any additional sim has to be an e-SIM, which I feel is a limitation compared to other smartphones that offer dual or multiple SIM slots. This can be a problem for users who need to switch between different networks or plans regularly.
The haptics on the phone are also not as impressive as I had hoped for. The vibration motor feels average and could have been stronger, which is a minor but noticeable drawback. Finally, the software updates are another concern, as Motorola has promised regular Android upgrades, but we can't always count on timely delivery.
On the plus side, the smartphone does come with Android 13 out of the box, and Motorola has promised next-generation Android upgrades up to version 15. This is a good sign that the company is committed to keeping their devices updated and secure.
Overall, I would say that the Motorola SAS smartphone is a solid device for its price point, but it's not without its flaws. The rear-facing cameras are decent, and the phone gets a lot of things right in terms of design and performance. However, the camera struggles in low-light conditions, and the SIM card slot limitations can be a problem for some users.
**Pros**
* Decent rear-facing cameras that can shoot video up to 1080p
* Good battery life
* Enhanced feel and premium build quality
* IP68 rating for durability
* Wireless charging
* Android 13 comes out of the box
**Cons**
* Camera performance is not as expected, especially in low-light conditions
* Only one physical Nano-SIM card slot available
* Front-facing camera struggles in low-light conditions
* Haptics could be stronger
* Software updates may be slower than other Android smartphones
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the full review for this Moto Edge 40 smartphone and I have been actually testing this smartphone with my primary Sim that is Airtel for the last 12 days and in this video I'll divide it between the pros and cons what's good about it and what are some of the things that I did not like with this device and overall I have to say this is excellent smartphone considering the price point at which it sells it's around 30 000 and definitely I would say this is one of the rare smartphones that stands out generally every year we get the one or two smartphones that stand out and I think so this year uh definitely this is one of them but again it's not without its flaw so let's get on with this review and again guys if you want to know what came inside the box and all those things check out my unboxing video because I won't get into all those aspects and I did my testing with the my primary Sim was mostly in this Smartphone I also got another variant of the smartphone which has the plastic bag again if you watch the unboxing video you'll know that but I would definitely say this that faux leather kind of a one that I have this is the green and the faux leather is also on the black variant that feels a lot more premium compared to this blue plastic one in my personal opinion and if I have to pick one or suggest one I would suggest this four leather one and I used it without the case for the last 12 days and I even traveled and this is a durable case I would say in fact the grip is also very good it doesn't slip out of your hand like this a slightly plastic one that way it's actually a pretty good okay so let's start with the things that I liked about this device and the first thing that stood out for this device is the weight of this device and this is a very very slim smartphone with that curved edges and in terms of weight also this is actually pretty like with just 167 grams of weight and now when I pick up any other regular smartphone it just feels way too heavy and I'm appreciating the weight of this smartphone now after I've used it for almost about 12 odd days so that way it's good I also like the fact that the build quality is nice on this one they haven't compromised on the build quality this outer chases is actually uh aluminum so that way it feels very very sturdy it's not plastic or something like that the frame so that way it is good and in fact if I have to say in terms of build quality and the looks this Smartphone feels a lot more premium compared to any other smartphone for the 30 000 price point I also like the fact that Motorola didn't skimp on the charger we get that fast 68 watt charger in the Box I'll talk about the battery life and all those things in the later part of the video okay moving to the next thing uh that I liked is the screen quality on this one this is a p OLED screen and it's actually 144 Hertz screen and you can set it to force it to 144 120 Etc if you go towards the setting again typical Motorola stuff very close to stock Android and I also like the fact that there was no bloatware or anything on this uh smartphone apart from some specific Motorola apps of course us and if I go to the display option over here you will notice that it does have a lot of options so this we also do have that flicker prevention I didn't have to use it I didn't notice any flicker but again some people are very sensitive to what you say flicker when you go very low brightness so if you are facing that you can switch on the flicker prevention I didn't have to do it and again if you go to the refresh rate options on this one again you do have a quite a bit I did test it with 144 Hertz also for a few days posted I'll show you the battery start I'm not now just leaving it to Auto for most of the time and it's actually doing a very good job but again do notice that in Auto it hovers from 60 hertz to 120 it doesn't go to 144 so if you want 144 you have to actually click on this one and auto also it works very well uh the and I did not notice any lagginess or that jerkiness on this Smartphone so that way uh it is very good and again it becomes a little bit more smoother if you keep it and force it on 144 again the camera can't capture it but again it's a butter smooth smartphone my relatives also you played around with this one and the first thing they said is how light this phone is and how fluid the smartphone is also in terms of the screen quality I do not have any issues with the screen quality the screen quality on this Smartphone was pretty good okay moving to the next thing is again I've told you clean stock Android experience so no bloatware or anything but I like the fact that Motorola has added some useful apps on this one for example they have this Moto secure all your security Etc are over here and also uh Wireless ready for option is there also in fact I showed that in my unboxing video so these are some of the additional features that this Smartphone has and again very very fluid experience and I'm happy that Motorola at least in this Edge series is not blendling any bloatware or something like that left main you get that Google Pane and again this is what you have again it does retain the Moto gestures and all this thing for exam but if you do the double chop the the flashlight will come and those things if you flick like this the camera open also you do have this Moto display using which you can interact uh in display fingerprint scanner was good on this phone as you can see I did not have any issues has been very very reliable so that way they've got the basics right with this Smartphone okay now moving to the processor on this one this is a relatively new processor that's Diamond City 80 20 and again I have to say this is a very good processor again as I showed you in the unboxing video even in benchmark scores this actually got pretty good Benchmark score so that way it's a good processor and I did not notice any lagginess or anything on this one again I'll be very very prank I'm not a heavy gamer so I didn't do a lot of gaming if you know want to know very heavy gaming how it performs check out some other channels that do dedicated game for us and us I did play Call of Duty on this one and it played without any issues but I just played for 15 odd minutes okay that brings me to another point that I like with this processor on this one I was also a little bit worried will this exhibit any heating issues and I'm happy to say that this Smartphone does not exhibit any overheating issues though I I was actually traveling for three days and that time this was exclusively only on mobile data that is 4G and 5G and then also I did not notice any abnormal heating with the smartphone so that way I would say the processor on this one is good in fact the battery life is also good we'll talk about the battery life later on but overall in terms of processor I do not have any uh issues with this one the processor handles whatever you throw on this phone fine without any issue another thing that I like with this Smartphone and it makes our life easy also at least in India this Smartphone is available only in one variant that comes with eight gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage so you're getting a lot more storage that is 256 gigabytes so that way I would say Motorola has done a good job with this Smartphone also in hand feel as I've told you is very very good I also like the RAM management because it's very clean almost close to stock Android without any bloatware the RAM management was also done well on this one the apps that you want have to be in memory stay in memory like my get Truecaller Etc they were not booted out of ram so that way I would say in terms of RAM management and all those things it has been a good experience as you can see I have a number of apps and all this thing uh it does good uh as I've told you I've been using this with my Airtel 5G Sim and even on 5G the speeds are good again the last one is the 5G speeds that I got I got a 767 megabits over 5G so 5G was also good on this smartphone now moving to the next thing is the earpiece on this one the call Quality has been good again this is with Airtel I did not have any issues so overall I would say with the call Quality call cloudy was clear and loud uh the speaker phone is also good I took some calls over the speakerphone uh is it good enough I but I wish it was slightly louder I would say this is sort of nitpicking it is normal I would say uh but overall the call quality was good only two times I noticed such approximity issue and that might be just because of on this unit as I've told you only two times I've been using it for the past 12 days it's not happening now but I did take some long calls on this one I put myself on this uh wait and this is the same one with the plastic bag and here I did not have any proximity a sensor issue so it might be just a unit issue with my unit but lately I'm not getting that issue so maybe it was a freak thing it happened twice sir but just want to be clear about that okay next thing I liked about this one is the battery life on this one and many people have been asking me this one has just 4400 milliamp hour battery and I have to say the battery life has been good and this is because of the diamond City processor uh it's a very well optimized processor it's based on tsmc which is way more efficient I would say and if I show you some stats and as I've told you uh let me actually show you I have saved okay first this was just initially the first two days of you use it and I kept it I forced it at 144 Hertz and after 24 hours I got a screen on time of about 5 hours 30 minutes and still had about seven percent battery life left this is actually uh I would say uh here I've forced it completely on mobile data that way it was only on 4G and 5G most of the time and um when I had 11 percent battery left after one day and four hours I had five hours uh 16 minutes of sod so easily about what is it six hours of SRT even on mobile data only you will get and with mixed usage this is sort of mixed usage uh I would say 50 time it was on Wi-Fi 50 on mobile data and here I got one day at 20 hours of usage that's one and a half days of usage and still I had 14 battery life left and even when I was traveling on three days continuously uh even at the end of the day at night when I was completely on mobile data and now we were roaming around then also the battery life was good at the end of the day at night at 11 clock it still had about 30 35 battery life so that way I would say battery life is not an issue but I'll be very clear guys this is with just a single Sim because the second Sim on this one is e Sim it's not a physical Sim so I was just testing it with a single cell uh but overall the battery life was good I was a little bit worried about that I would say for most users battery life is not an issue on this Smartphone moving to the next thing and that's regarding the cameras on this one and I was also very very worried about this one okay I really like the fact that we just have two rear facing camera not the gimmicks of three or four that's lowered move by Motorola I would say the main camera is a 15 megapixel and this does have Optical image stabilization it's a omnivision sensor uh the second camera is actually a 13 megapixel and this does job of three cameras ultrawide of course it is also does depth and macro uh whereas the front facing camera is a 32 megapixel we'll talk about that later but overall I would say as you can see with the camera samples the camera camera performance on the smartphone did exceed my expectations again you guys know that the Motorola and Camera are not the highest criteria so when I went with the with this one my expectations of the camera were like this at this level but the pics that I got they were at this level as you can see uh some of the camera samples that I have taken and also when the lighting was actually not good the lighting the pictures ever produced very very well yes it tends to over saturate the pictures a little bit like most smartphones I would say but overall I would say the picture quality that I was getting with the real facing camera was much better than I thought in fact at night these shots were taken and completely dull lighting conditions and notice how bright they came out and in fact here I this is the actual situation it was but regular shots also this is not a night mode the brightness gets boosted quite a bit so overall I would say the rear facing camera did perform much better than I I expected on the SAS smartphone and moving to the rear facing camera video yes you can shoot video up to 4k on this one without any issues and also we do have access orientation so if you enable it but it doesn't shoot in what you say 4K it goes down to 1080p but if you even move your phone like this the Horizon level it has something called it looks stable now okay now let's move to the cons and some of the things that I did not like with the smartphone and the first thing is again I don't know why Motorola did with this Smartphone I know uh okay I completely forgot in the pros it does have ip68 to production so you can dip it in water and nothing will happen in fact I cleaned it with water this one this and it looks shiny no issues like that okay now the first con that I have with this Smartphone is I don't know why Motorola did this on the SIM card we can put only one physical Nano cell the second Sim if you want to put it it is a e Sim I get it e-sims are generally used on higher end smartphones but I wish the Motorola did give us an option of two physical Nintendo Sims but it is one physical uh what do you say nano SIM and one E7 if you want to use the Dual sum functionality the second Sim has to be Ethan or not this one that's my first call and the second coin that I have with this one is that though this is a 32 megapixel camera and when the lighting is good the pictures come out decent with this one but at night and low lighting conditions I frankly feel the camera is not that good it tries to even brighten the pictures or something and it does a very very poor job so if you take a lot of selfies during night and done lighting conditions then the front facing camera is not good on this one okay and next thing is and again this is a minor thing but I have to say I feel the haptics on this one could have been better it's not like it's a complete deal breaker but I feel the haptic and the vibration motor are just average they could have been a little bit stronger on this one and uh lastly we have to talk about this one the good thing is that this comes out of the box with Android 13 so you're getting the latest version of Android and Motorola has promised next to Android upgrades that's Android 14 and 15 on this one that's not a problem but as we know the history of updates with Motorola yes this will eventually get Android 14 or Android 15 but we just don't know when and if history if you look at the history of Motorola smartphones they have been actually pretty lit in pushing out Android updates so that is something that I'm a little bit worried yes this will get the Android 14 update but we don't know and if we compare with many other Android smartphones they might get the Android updates way faster than this Smartphone so that is one more con that I have at this one but apart from that I would say this has to be one of the what do you say standout smartphones for this price point in India for 2023 because it gets a lot of things right uh the form factor the build quality uh the enhanced feel the battery life is good the rear facing cameras are decent but it also has some Advanced features like ip68 rating and also it has wireless charging yes it has wireless charging address it also with Android or 200 work so overall I would say uh if your budget is around that 30 000 price point this is a very very strong Android smartphone and I can definitely recommend this to my friends and relay tips again I guess I have told you the cons of this if those cons do not bother you that much you can definitely go with the smartphone and guys I have also finally I just today I got this lava Agni 2 which I had purchased from Amazon so I'll also be posting a video on the this one in the next couple of days I just want to use it for a couple of days and then post the video so stay tuned for that and guys if you're still not subscribed to this YouTube channel like that subscribe button this is Ranjit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guyshi guys this is Ranjit and in this video we'll be doing the full review for this Moto Edge 40 smartphone and I have been actually testing this smartphone lot of things right uh the form factor the build quality uh the enhanced feel the battery life is good the rear facing cameras are decent but it also has some Advanced features like ip68 rating and also it has wireless charging yes it has wireless charging address it also with Android or 200 work so overall I would say uh if your budget is around that 30 000 price point this is a very very strong Android smartphone and I can definitely recommend this to my friends and relay tips again I guess I have told you the cons of this if those cons do not bother you that much you can definitely go with the smartphone and guys I have also finally I just today I got this lava Agni 2 which I had purchased from Amazon so I'll also be posting a video on the this one in the next couple of days I just want to use it for a couple of days and then post the video so stay tuned for that and guys if you're still not subscribed to this YouTube channel like that subscribe button this is Ranjit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guys\n"
