The Rimac Concept One is a HYPERCAR KILLER!

The Concept One: A Car Like No Other

As I sat down with our host, Torstein Halle, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and awe as he led me to the car that was about to change my understanding of physics forever. The car in question was the concept one, a marvel of modern technology and engineering from Rema Motors, a company known for pushing the boundaries of innovation. With its sleek design and advanced features, this car was not just a vehicle, but an experience waiting to happen.

The first thing that caught my attention was the sheer amount of technology packed into this car. From the big button that starts and stops the engine to the instant torque that propels it forward, every aspect of this car seemed to be designed with one goal in mind: to deliver an unparalleled driving experience. As I sat down behind the wheel, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation - would this car live up to its promises? Would it be able to handle the twists and turns of the mountain roads that lay ahead?

The answer, thankfully, was a resounding yes. From the moment I put the car into gear and hit the accelerator, I knew that I was in for a wild ride. The instant torque was like nothing I had ever experienced before - it's as if the car had a mind of its own, eager to get out there and take on whatever the road threw at us. And then, of course, there were the donuts - or rather, the donut-like behavior that the car exhibited when pushed hard enough. It was like something out of a video game, and I couldn't help but laugh with delight as we spun around corners and carved through the turns.

But what really impressed me about this car was its ability to adapt to different driving situations. Whether we were cruising down the highway or taking on the mountain roads, the concept one seemed to be able to adjust its behavior seamlessly - it's as if it had a sixth sense for knowing exactly when to push harder and when to ease off the throttle. And then, of course, there was the tank mode - a feature that allowed us to essentially turn the car into a 4x4 vehicle, capable of handling even the most treacherous terrain.

As we took the concept one on its maiden spin, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. This car was truly a marvel of modern engineering, a testament to the power of human ingenuity and innovation. And as I sat back in my seat, watching the video footage of our journey play out before me, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience it firsthand.

For those who may be wondering, this car was actually flown in from Geneva just a few days ago - a testament to the Rema Motors team's dedication to making sure that every detail is perfect. And as I looked around at the sleek, modern design of the interior, I couldn't help but feel impressed by the attention to detail and the sheer amount of thought that had gone into creating this car.

But what really struck me about this experience was the sense of community that surrounded it. From the team at Rema Motors to our host Torstein Halle, everyone involved seemed genuinely passionate about cars - and it showed in everything they did. Whether we were talking about the latest technology or simply enjoying a spin in the car, there was a palpable sense of excitement and enthusiasm that made this experience truly unforgettable.

As I reflect on my time with the concept one, I am struck by the sheer potential of this car. With its advanced features, instant torque, and tank mode, it's clear that Rema Motors is pushing the boundaries of what we think is possible behind the wheel. And as I look to the future, I can only imagine what's in store for this incredible vehicle - new technologies, new innovations, and who knows what else? One thing's for sure: this car will be remembered for a long time to come.

The First Gear Experience

As Torstein Halle led me through the process of getting familiar with the concept one, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. We were going to take it out for a spin - and that meant going into first gear. But what did that even mean? Would this car behave like a normal car, or would it have some kind of special mode? And as we sat down in the cockpit, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation - what was going to happen next?

As Torstein started up the engine and pressed the accelerator, I felt a sudden jolt of excitement. The car seemed to come alive beneath me, its instant torque propelling us forward with incredible force. And then, as we picked up speed, something strange happened - the car began to spin around in a circle, its wheels screeching out in protest. It was like something out of a video game, and I couldn't help but laugh with delight.

But what really struck me about this experience was the sense of control that the concept one gave me. With its instant torque and smooth shifting, it felt like I was able to push the car to its limits without ever feeling in danger. And as we carved through the turns, I couldn't help but feel a sense of confidence - this car seemed to know exactly what it was doing.

And then, of course, there were the donuts - or rather, the donut-like behavior that the car exhibited when pushed hard enough. It was like something out of a video game, and I couldn't help but laugh with delight as we spun around corners and carved through the turns. But what really impressed me about this experience was the sense of adaptation that the concept one showed - it seemed to be able to adjust its behavior seamlessly, whether we were cruising down the highway or taking on the mountain roads.

As we took the concept one out for another spin, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder. This car was truly a marvel of modern engineering, a testament to the power of human ingenuity and innovation. And as I sat back in my seat, watching the video footage of our journey play out before me, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience it firsthand.

The Technology Behind the Concept One

As we talked with Torstein Halle about the concept one, I was struck by the sheer amount of technology that had gone into creating this car. From the instant torque and smooth shifting to the tank mode and advanced safety features, every aspect of this car seemed to be designed with one goal in mind: to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.

One of the most impressive features of the concept one is its use of instant torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-60mph in just a few seconds, making it one of the fastest cars on the road today. But what really impressed me about this technology was its ability to adapt to different driving situations - whether we were cruising down the highway or taking on the mountain roads, the concept one seemed to be able to adjust its behavior seamlessly.

Another feature that caught my attention was the tank mode - a special mode that allows the car to essentially turn into a 4x4 vehicle, capable of handling even the most treacherous terrain. This is made possible by advanced computer algorithms and sophisticated control systems, which allow the car to adjust its behavior in real-time to ensure maximum traction and control.

But what really struck me about this technology was its potential for future development. With the concept one, Rema Motors is pushing the boundaries of what we think is possible behind the wheel - and it's clear that they're not afraid to experiment and try new things. Whether it's advanced safety features or innovative driving technologies, the concept one is a testament to the power of human ingenuity and innovation.

As I look to the future, I can only imagine what's in store for this incredible vehicle. With its advanced features and instant torque, the concept one has the potential to revolutionize the way we drive - and it's clear that Rema Motors is just getting started.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys I'm and today you joined me at the Goodwood Festival of speed where it is very noisy in the Michelin Supercar Paddock but we're actually going to be filming with something a little bit quieter behind me is the rimac concept one a very very interesting car that I have always wanted to Fil A little bit more with and I'm going to be running up the hill here for the hill climb in the car to show you a little bit more about it let's have a quick look around the car now before we jump in to head out this car has 1200 horsepower from the full electric four Motors one for each Corner that is a lot 1,600 new M it is super low super slick you can see the way it's just going to cut through the air capable of insane performance it does not to 62 mph in 2 and a half seconds that is very very very fast we're going to jump in right now head on out and I'll show you a lot more about it very surely but for the moment I'm going to jump in with Miro the test and development driver for rimac open the door in we step and it will be time to head on out how are you hi awesome I will take the helmets and off we go now the eest thing is we are total silence this is just crazy yeah just drift away everything in here is so futuristic the displays the setup and we'll show through and talk a bit more about this shortly but this is we line up surrounded by plenty of other nice cars popping out just to have a little bit of another look around the car and talk a little bit about this cuz it's completely different to anything else it is totally silent here in this lineup of all the cars around us but obviously with Motors a lot of capability there is also a lot of trick Tac and cooling that's required so all the sort of intakes around the front are for cooling certain parts you have additional intakes at the rear for cooling the motors back there are the batteries which are all mounted through the bottom and the power unit up towards the top in the rear deck too but obviously because the car is so low that still keeps center of gravity stupidly low it's one neat thing the radiator back here you can see inside the lights if I just bring the camera in a little bit closer you can see those literally air flow coming out through the rear lights itself it has a gearbox so you have first and second gear dual clutch gearbox for the rear the front has just one single gear but the ratio is set up to match that of of second gear in effect you get 3.2 seconds to 62 in second um 2.5 if you're in first so the way it manages that obviously um depending how you want to drive the car how you want it set up and just gu look around it it's cool they make everything for this car in house themselves by rimac it's basically completely home home built home developed home grown the button for the door uh is under there pops it open and then of course you get to look around inside where you have all sorts of screens and controls and fun technology and things you can play with particularly the torque vectoring which is what distributes power between the different Wheels depending on the driving style technique and what you want from it when you're out and actually driving so I could probably tell you an awful lot about this probably marac himself could tell us even more um but we're going to go up the hill with Miro and enjoy the drive enjoy the experience and see a little bit more about it it is a bizarre sensation crawling past all of these cars in silence past the Sher on the chent AIO the FXX okay the fort the noise of the noble m600 ahead of us Vantage AMR Pro Vulcan AMR Pro theu BC we're heading up towards the start line but before we set off a very quick glance at the sort of displays and dashboards here and you've got all sorts of information up here your rev counter um your sort of usage of torque or regeneration um in here in the screen obviously at the current view we've got torque and the way it's Distributing between the different Corners the steering information the g-forces you can go through different uh screens see the energy battery thermal uh the cooling the coolant itself and trip information but it's time to go up the hill and for that I'm going to put it back in it's a strange sensation in general rolling up to the start line because obviously I'm used to doing this in very noisy cars and this is going to be a much quieter experience probably one I can talk through while we're doing it okay then head back let's it go let's go squeezes you back into the seat wow sensation is crazy there's no well there are electronic noises all over it's the UFO style we've been up to 200ks just as a sort of Silent continuous waft wow so you're very fam familar with this but for me who hasn't experienced that sensation before it's completely different to anything else The Continuous power but so much of it you're sort of like squishing back into your seat and being deformed slightly by by by the way it's we are still not on maximum acceleration so in first gear it goes even quicker yeah so that was all in second yeah okay and it feels like somebody's pulling you with a bunge rope something like that completely it just it's it's a different way the the power is sort of comes through wow that was awesome thanks now that was pretty special but we've got to just take a moment to have a quick look through these screens and displays cuz there's so much information here and on the dashboard you've got well quite different view to normal because you don't have a basic rev counter how does this work exactly what are we looking at so your your main screen is basically speed um so on the on the right you have the power distribution so how much power you using or regenerating back yeah so up to 1 12200 at the top and regenerating that goes negative in effect yes uh and this is the RPM of the motors so this is uh the front Motors rear Motors and um you can basically see when you're in first gear on what speed your your rear Motors are compared to the for Motors okay okay in second speed the speeds are the same so um while the rear Motors are in second speed they have the the same RPM like this okay and then you can see even more information on this performance display which I've kind of been looking at while we've been going up the hill the uh torque distribution gfor is yeah um steering angle as yeah so you have your steering angle you have the lateral and longitudal G you have the torque distribution so this is torque on each motor so how much torque you're using or regenerating um the power how much you using on regenerating back you see you have your energy screen you have your battery screen you have your thermal screen of the temperatures of each system you have your coolant screen so uh how much uh the temperature of coolant going in and out of there's a lot of information in here yeah you have your trips you have your stats then this is this is the the cever bit because in your stats you have the different different kinds of screens it's dusty sorry uh you have different kinds of screen so you have different kind of information that you can swipe through and uh so we can look back through the Run we've just done yeah for example let's let's see um I let's see the speed so if we open this you can see uh what was happening in the last 5 minutes you can see what was happening in the last 30 minutes you can overlap these graphs so you can you know see one of the other and this whole data is sent um why the uh why the uh 4G network to the to the cloud okay and you can see that the data on the desktop desktop computer or your mobile phone so okay that's awesome and then you've got all the normal sort of um navigation up browser settings yeah okay so you can change sort of regen settings and the way it feels yeah and you can also have your custom Uh custom settings so you want 100% rear or 100% so you can make it a 100% front-wheel drive car or 100% rear wheel drive car that's got to be quite fun yeah you can do anything you want to experiment with and change all sorts of other things so the talk factoring the gearbox is steering throttle response and you can also I know control that through the D you control that through yeah through the toggles uh just set your settings on the central screen save them and just by turning the knob it changes the character of the car totally and the gearbox as well you can change that so we did that run in just second gear yeah um but you could put the car in first and then have a faster launch which would be even more crazy have and cures and talk vectoring and then the big button here for the on and off stuffing starting and putting it into life yep well that was amazing and the amount of technology in here is just phenomenal it's so so super cool um I could spend forever just playing around probably just pressing buttons looking through it all amazing wonderful thank you very much thank you if you put this car in full rear wheel drive yeah can you misbehave and donuts be stupid or yeah you can yeah this is a customer car yeah yeah I I don't mean do it I mean I mean uh I know the capability of it yeah and obviously instant talk so presumably you can light it up very very very quickly you would with it pretty uh silly stuff with this car uh but with this car with the with the concept one for example we did uh just to see if it's possible uh a tank mode like put left left Wheels in One Direction Right Wheels in other direction and you can spin it around okay on snow on snow we don't we didn't try it on on the on the dry yet yeah um but yeah you can you can do silly stuff um this is a customer car so we are really taking care of it yeah for sure um the customer was really really uh nice to give us the car um it's been flown in right FL in just really really short amount of time yes that's pretty amazing yeah thank you for the opportunity yes yes this is one of my my personal favorites okay um because this was the car that uh we we we did a lot of stuff first this was the car that was in Geneva this was the car that did the first press launch I mean there's only one of eight in the first place yes but not two are the same okay all are different uh even with the the same set settings with the same setup every car has that's something that that differentiates them M okay for the for the camera I'm going to press it back into vehicle cuz I like watching this live where you just see I mean even doing tiny numbers watch the way they talk even on the curse with breaking you can see the so basically the the only relevant thing of here is talk you can see that completely it was all different so it's it's judging the road surface and then I guess making the most of it wow that's cool you want to see the first gear okay I'm going to sit back and hold on tight okay yeah was that fun I have anything to say it just shoots that was quick if you try and keep your neck forward you're the muscles are really really struggling you've been involved in it though I guess all the way through the yeah it's developed like my my neck has grown since we started today do thing but I think one of the interesting things is the concept one this car was the first iteration of what remat could do and working with so many other companies developing new technologies I mean Public public Partners like G Martin balky yeah I can only imagine what you guys have cooking I'm I'm not allowed to say I would I would very much because we are all you know gear heads petrol heads drivers people like cars in the company they genuinely like cars and uh they're all excited when we do a new project um and when a prototype rolls around it's it's hard to you know stop people as is not film it because you know we are on the DND but still you know when we get out with the car everybody goes out you know it's like a little
