First Look - Siri for iPad

**Exploring Siri on the iPad: A Hands-On Review**

In this article, we'll delve into the world of Siri on the iPad, exploring its features, capabilities, and overall user experience. We'll take a closer look at how to access Siri, launch various apps, set timers, and even use reminders.

**Accessing Siri on the iPad**

One of the most exciting features of the iPad is its integration with Apple's virtual assistant, Siri. To access Siri, simply tap the microphone icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can say "Hey Siri" to activate her. This allows you to quickly ask questions, send messages, make calls, and even perform tasks without having to physically interact with the device.

**Launched Apps: A Quick Test**

To demonstrate the capabilities of Siri on the iPad, we'll launch a few popular apps and see how they integrate with Siri's features. Let's start with Twitterbot, which is a great example of an app that seamlessly integrates with Siri. Tapping the Safari icon in the bottom left corner of the screen will take you to Twitterbot, where you can access your tweets, messages, and more.

Next up is Tiny Wings HD, a popular game that showcases Siri's ability to launch apps and perform tasks quickly and efficiently. Simply say "Launch Tiny Wings HD" or tap the app icon in the Safari browser to get started. We'll also explore the YouTube app, which unfortunately doesn't have an official Siri integration on the iPad (yet!). However, we can still use Siri to launch other apps and access various features.

**Setting Timers: A Minor Annoyance**

One minor annoyance with Siri on the iPad is its tendency to delay when setting timers. To set a timer for 1 minute, simply say "Set a timer for 1 minute" or tap the Timer icon in the Clock app. However, some users have reported that the iPhone 4S tends to delay slightly when setting timers. Despite this, the overall experience is still smooth and efficient.

**Reminders: A Useful Feature**

One of the most useful features of Siri on the iPad is its integration with reminders. To create a reminder, simply say "Remind me to [task]" or tap the Reminders icon in the Clock app. We can even set reminders for specific dates and times, making it easy to stay organized and on top of tasks.

**The Clock App: A Masterclass in Design**

The clock app on the iPad is a stunning example of Apple's design expertise. With its sleek interface and intuitive features, it's no wonder that this app has become an instant favorite among users. The timer function allows for up to six hour displays, which can be easily customized using the Stopwatch feature. We'll also explore the World Clock section, which displays multiple time zones on a beautiful world map.

**Conclusion: A Great Experience**

Overall, Siri on the iPad offers a fantastic experience that seamlessly integrates with various apps and features. From launching apps to setting reminders and timers, Siri makes it easy to stay organized and productive on-the-go. While there may be some minor annoyances, these are easily overlooked given the overall convenience and ease of use. As we look forward to future updates and improvements, one thing is certain: Siri on the iPad is here to stay.

**A Word from the Author**

As a fan of Siri myself, I'm excited to share my experience with this powerful virtual assistant. While some may say that nobody uses Siri, I can attest to its usefulness in my daily routine. Whether it's checking the weather or sending messages, Siri makes tasks easier and more efficient.

Thanks for watching, and we'll catch you guys in our next video!

official series supports for the iPad the new iPad I should say in other words the iPad third generation the one you're looking at right now but it also brought extended functionality of existing features in Siri for the iPhone 4S such as movie reviews sports scores and the ability to finally launch apps which is actually very handy now I don't know about you but I actually do use Siri just about every day usually for setting alarms or timers or even calling people without having to go through the phone app myself and I personally find it very useful okay so with that said let's see how Siri performs on the iPad what is the current temperature as you can see the interface is beautiful very very well done right now and it gives me an hourly forecast of today weather with a low of 61° F and a high of 73 which in my opinion is very nice now going over to the iPhone you'll notice well first of all on the iPad if you tap it it doesn't take you into a weather app because interesting interestingly enough Apple still doesn't have an official weather app for the iPad for whatever reason but they finally have clock which is actually pretty freaking cool so on the iPhone let's see what happens what is the current temperature it's currently 72° perfect now if I tap it takes a second to switch over and there you go now as you can see hopefully see anyway the new weather app for the iPhone is downright beautiful I mean look at the choice and font the nice gradient they applied on the bottom and the top and overall the color scheme I think looks much better the original weather app wasn't bad it's always been very basic and it still is very basic and yes there are better free weather apps out there but personally I've always been a fan of Apple's weather app it works fine it's simple and it gets the job done now exiting out of that let's see what else we can do with Siri show me movies starring Steve Carell okay I found some movies starring Steve Carol a bit far from Paul and there you go now if we tap one 40y old virgin awesome movie it'll actually show me the details right here with with the Rotten Tomato score and everything or you can even buy or rent it on iTunes which is really neat so if you tap that it takes you into the iTunes Store and so it's kind of like a back door into the store to rent or buy movies which I think is pretty damn cool and
