I'm going to do a comparison between a couple 60 dollar headsets and then kind of touch on the bigger picture about the audio quality on them if you're getting a 60 headset you're not getting amazing audio I mean you're never that's not what's going to happen because amazing audio costs more money than that and so you also have to have realistic expectations.
I do a comparison between a couple 60 dollar headsets and then kind of touch on the bigger picture about the audio quality on them if you're getting a 60 headset you're not getting amazing audio I mean you're never that's not what's going to happen because amazing audio costs more money than that and so you also have to have realistic expectations.
So, when it comes to headsets, especially those in the $60 price range, we should all be aware of the fact that they won't offer the same level of quality as some of our favorite high-end headphones. You know, there are plenty of amazing audio setups out there that can blow these 60-dollar headsets right out of the water.
I've got a couple headsets here that I'm going to compare, and I'll be honest with you guys, if you're getting a 60 dollar headset, it's not like you're going to be blown away by its sound quality. But hey, at least they can get your through the day without too much strain on your wallet.
My question this week is: what do you guys think? Is Facebook video really going to surpass YouTube, or are we just seeing a bunch of hype and overestimation from people who don't quite understand how these platforms work? I mean, come on, folks. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Facebook Video may be big, but it's still a long way off from being the top dog when it comes to video content.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I have to say, I'm pretty excited to ask you guys about your thoughts on this topic. I mean, we're all going to get some Facebook videos in our feeds soon, and we're all going to want to know: do they live up to the hype? Do they really give us a reason to switch from YouTube?
So, let's break it down, shall we? If Facebook Video were to become the next big thing, I'd say it's like comparing apples and oranges. Make Facebook Video like the biggest electronics chain in the world - everyone goes there for one thing: entertainment. And then make YouTube like the most popular grocery store in the world - people go there for food. Okay? Now, if Facebook Video were to suddenly start driving a ton of sales through its "snack aisle" (yes, I'm using that term intentionally), it's not going to change the game like some people think.
I mean, at the end of the day, Facebook Video and YouTube are two totally different platforms designed for two very different purposes. They're not even remotely competitors. If you watch a video on Facebook, it's probably because you want to check out that new cat video or something, right? It's not like you're expecting to learn anything valuable or get any real work done.
And another thing, folks: if Facebook Video were to start getting popular, we'd see some YouTube creators experimenting with uploading videos to Facebook. And I've seen a couple of them do just that already. But here's the thing: ad revenue is still a big no-no on Facebook. So unless you're creating content specifically for Facebook (like a cat video or something), you're not going to be making any money from it.
So, what do you guys think? Do you watch videos on YouTube? Would you rather watch Facebook Video if they started getting more popular? Are you okay with watching random kitty videos and cell phone videos on Facebook? Let me know in the comments below! And if you want to catch some random videos up on Facebook, be sure to check out my page. I'll be posting some videos there soon.
That's it for today, guys. Thanks so much for watching, and don't forget to hit that subscribe button if you haven't already. If you have any thoughts or questions about Facebook Video, YouTube, or anything else, be sure to leave them in the comments below. And until next time, take care of yourselves, and I'll see you in the next video!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello once again and welcome back to forum friday my name is adam or eposvox and let's get into your comments last week i asked you guys what you preferred in gaming headsets whether it be technical features compatibility comfort or just pure audio quality has to be top notch and overall the consensus was that audio quality is important which is kind of funny since personally as an audio snob i kind of prefer comfort but that's also because i have a kind of weird stance on gaming headsets so that's maybe getting into your comments five star network says they prefer audio quality and then also says nice video like dj crossfade says may the power of the cheesecake donut be with you i don't know what that means i don't like cheesecake but i'll take some standard krispy kreme glaze to thank you ffx iii maniac says quality or no just two eyes ffx final fantasy 12 maniac quality quality mike should have decent but com decent quality but comfort should be higher so basically audio quality of the actual headset is very important he would prefer there to be a high quality microphone on there but he would rather have it be comfortable than have a super high quality mic i kind of have to go with that and then he adds in that also itunes itunes music is 225 kilobytes per second now they stopped doing 128 kilobytes per second garbage although the old stuff still is and yes that is what drives me insane this is totally a different topic than what the video was on but it's something that's been coming up recently given the fact that places like soundcloud and pretty much anywhere else you would download audio from if you're not just pirating a specific format intent um allows you to assuming the uploader puts it up there get whatever format you want like when when i've bought i think it's soundcloud when i've bought a few songs off soundcloud it gave me the option do i want a 128 kilobit mp3 a 256 a 320 or do i want a flack or a wave or what do i want and so i was able to get black now obviously there are some users that only upload mp3s and so there's one um sonic ether the guy who does the minecraft shaders mod he makes some music and it's pretty good and i wanted a higher quality copy of his song because i was hearing some compression artifacting and i contacted him and got that because he didn't actually upload that himself but for the most part you can get whatever you want whereas itunes the like probably most powerful music store in the world they force feed you one format and i understand that they have to you know stick you to their apple formats but let me choose to get an apple lossless format song why can i not do that that does not make any sense to me you have the like most powerful music store in the world and you're gonna stick me to one format and even music that you've bought in the past like um final fantasy 12 maniac mentioned they've actually upgraded their standard from 128 kbit to 225 although i'm thinking that might be 256 because 225 is really odd although it may be 225 but they've basically doubled their audio format and yet any song that i've bought in the past is probably stuck at that i don't have any upgrade options now it's possible if i do delete them and re-download it might redownload at 225 but i honestly don't know and i probably doubt it and that really frustrates me what do i think well i of course prefer audio quality to be very high but comfort is key to me i will i think i covered this a little bit in the last video but i didn't talk about it a huge amount so comfort is the most important because it doesn't matter if i'm listening to audible chocolate if it makes my head hurt to wear the headset or it's uncomfortable to wear it for a long period of time i'm not going to get to enjoy that audio quality because i'm not going to get to wear the headset and i have like two different headsets that i switch between based on comfort levels and how much they annoy me and stuff but comfort is number one with an audio quality thing just kind of being expected but at the same time with gaming headsets you have to know what you're getting for your price if you're if you're which i'm actually covering it up in an upcoming video so be sure to stay subscribed and check that out it'll probably be up monday or wednesday-ish i do a comparison between a couple 60 dollar headsets and then kind of touch on the bigger picture about the audio quality on them if you're getting a 60 headset you're not getting amazing audio i mean you're never that's not what's going to happen because amazing audio costs more money than that and so you also have to have realistic expectations so that covers your comments for this week everybody this or last week brother this week i would like to ask you a question it was in my head it was i was pretty excited to ask it and it is facebook video i said i wouldn't get in on this discussion and i'm still frankly not acknowledging any seriousness to conversations about oh facebook video is going to surpass youtube facebook videos giving youtube a run for their money blah blah blah because i think that's sure ridiculous and i covered this in a vlog but i am not going to force you to watch the vlog to understand my stance on the topic though i will link it and the blog post about it in the video facebook video and all that jazz links to that in the description below however all right so my my my analogy here is compare facebook make facebook like the biggest electronics chain of a retail store in the world it's super popular it's always busy it always has tons of customers and making a lot of money now youtube is the most popular grocery store in the world everybody comes to that grocery store for food it they sell a lot of food and make a lot of money and have a lot of customers now let's say facebook video has always had this little snack aisle that you know does all right and is used from time to time but suddenly they put this big initiative into really driving some sales to their snack aisle say their snack you know distributors aren't happy with their sales numbers so they start you know the electronic store starts driving some traffic towards their snack aisle and just sells a ton of snacks now because the electronics store is a lot more popular with you know or a lot more visited like people go there to hang out all day every day they sell a lot of snacks and they sell a lot of snacks compared to you know they sell a lot of snacks that are kind of on par with the numbers of food sales at the grocery store does that mean that the grocery store is in any threat does that mean that the electronic store is suddenly competing with the grocery store no it's a snack aisle it's not a grocery store it's two totally separate platforms that aren't at all intended to compete with each other the electronics store is not going to expect you to come to their snack aisle to replace your grocery shopping that's not how it works and the grocery store sure isn't gonna expect you to come to them for electronics facebook and youtube are two totally different platforms designed kind of for two totally different purposes and as far as i'm concerned they're not even remotely competitors facebook videos are different than youtube videos you watch them for different reasons you watch them in different contexts they're so different i don't understand why everybody's acting like they're competing so i want to know what you think about that in the comment section down below and more specifically if you don't want to address that specifically i've seen a couple youtubers and i'm experimenting with this with this myself who and i may even do this video who upload video there a couple other youtube videos every now and then to facebook to see if they get watched and shared and stuff now obviously there's the issue of you don't get ad revenue from it so you're not making the money from it however you're potentially reaching a wider audience of those who don't actually go to youtube or you're potentially attracting more people back over to youtube from facebook so what do you prefer to watch on youtube or do you watch video at all on youtube if you did watch video on youtube or you do currently would you want to watch youtube style videos i mean would you want would you come to you facebook for any post box video or for i don't know a linus tech tips video or a seniors video or do you or is facebook video like it is to me for
