Hey Guys! Today I'm Here to Show You a Very Useful and Handy Little Tweak in Cidia Called Open Notifier.
Open Notifier is basically not a replacement, but it's kind of similar to Android where you can pull down the Notifier and see all your notifications and what's new with all your apps. However, iOS has something similar, but the pop-up notifications are not the best.
So, what does open Notifier do? You can see here that I have a couple of them up in the top right-hand corner. It will just go ahead and give you a small little Notifier just letting you know that you have this or that. And as you can see, it's totally customizable! I have two of them so one is for my mail and the other is for a few Game Center requests.
I'm going to show you guys how to download and set up open Notifier now. To find it in Cidia, all you need to do is type "open Notifier" into your device's search bar. It's free, so that's definitely great! Once you click on the top-right hand corner and install it, you can go ahead and spring up your device and then head into the settings app.
Now, once you're in the settings app, there will be a few options, but you can pretty much ignore all of them except for the apps. This is where you decide what apps you want to display and what icons you want to use. Let's say we want the App Store - it comes with five icons, and you can install more. Five are okay for me for the moment! So, let's say we want when we get a notification for the App Store... we can go ahead and select that.
You can also scroll through all your apps to set up notifications for pre-installed ones like FaceTime messages or Facebook/ Twitter updates. You can pretty much do whatever you want with open Notifier! And personally, I like it because instead of getting push notifications or having to look for badges, it just pops up very non-intrusively in my status bar.
I know that when I see the icon say "oh, I've got a new email" or "oh, I've got a new friend request"... that's what open Notifier is all about! It's really handy and works very well. So, if you want to try it out, just go ahead and give it a shot!
That's it for today's video - hope you guys enjoyed learning about this little tweak in Cidia called Open Notifier.
