**The Volvo S90: A Comfortable Cruiser with Impressive Standard Equipment**
If you're looking for a comfortable and quiet car to travel in, the Volvo S90 is definitely worth considering. As we explored in our video review, this Swedish-designed car features a very comfy interior, thanks in part to its excellent suspension system, which deals really well with bumps on the road. This makes it an ideal choice for long journeys or daily commutes.
One of the standout features of the S90 is its seats, which are simply brilliant. The car's design prioritizes comfort and relaxation, with seats that are designed to provide maximum support and minimize fatigue. Whether you're driving alone or with passengers, these seats will make your journey feel like a spa treatment. And while we were testing the car, we couldn't help but notice how peaceful it was to travel in - hardly any wind noise, no annoying tire whine, just a smooth and quiet ride.
Of course, safety is always a top priority for Volvo, and the S90 delivers in this area too. The car features a range of advanced safety features, including lane departure warning, pilot assist (which will drive the car for you at speeds up to 80mph), and automatic emergency braking. And with its impressive visibility, the S90's blind spots are virtually non-existent - making it an ideal choice for families or those who need a safe and reliable ride.
Under the bonnet, the Volvo S90 is powered by a single engine option: the D4 2.0-liter diesel, which produces 190 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 8 seconds. While this may not be as powerful as some of its rivals, it's more than enough for everyday driving - and with an estimated fuel economy of 64mpg, it won't break the bank either.
However, while the S90's engine is certainly impressive, we couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed by the choice of gearboxes. While the 8-speed automatic is smooth and refined when cruising at moderate speeds, it can be a bit sluggish when pushing hard - particularly compared to the faster and more responsive auto gearbox found in some other rivals.
If comfort and refinement are your top priorities, however, then the S90 may still be worth considering. And with its impressive levels of standard equipment, including heated seats, climate control, and a range of convenience features, it's clear that Volvo has put a lot of thought into creating a car that prioritizes the needs of its passengers.
**Cool Things About the Volvo S90**
There are plenty of interesting design touches on the S90, including the super slim backs on its Swedish-designed seats, which maximize rear knee room. And for fans of Norse mythology, there's even a touch of Thor's hammer to be found in the daytime running lights - designed to look like Mjolnir, the god's mighty sword.
But it's not all about looks and features - some interesting technical innovations make the S90 stand out from its rivals too. For example, its pedestrian protection system can automatically detect pedestrians, cyclists, or large animals (like a deer!) and deploy the airbags to minimize the impact of an accident. And if you're driving in poor air quality, the car's ventilation system will even automatically shut off - preventing you from breathing in pollutants.
**The Verdict**
Overall, we were impressed by the Volvo S90's ability to deliver comfort, refinement, and safety features without compromising on style or performance. While it may not be as sporty as some of its rivals, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that can feel sluggish at times, this is a car that will appeal to those who prioritize practicality and ease of use above all else.
If you're in the market for a comfortable and reliable car, we'd certainly recommend taking the S90 for a spin. And if you click up there, you can find out more information about this excellent car - including the best deals on offer at Car.co.uk. Thanks for watching!

Apple carplay for this infotainment system which is 300 quid but like I said before the system is so good you don't actually need Apple carplay terms of cubby spaces yeah you got big glove box you got storage there some there and the door bins they can take a 2 L bottle of water really impressive as for the space in the back seat there's plenty for most people so this seat's in my usual driving position got loads of knee room I can really stretch out if I sit up dead straight my head is pretty close to the roof cuz it does slope a little bit so people over 6 foot who like to sit dead straight might be a little bit annoyed about that but you can always slat a bit and get around it terms of the middle seat it's it's not too uncomfortable really there is a big hump in the floor there but the foot Wells mean there's well there's lot lots of space for everyone's feet and if I sit up straight there my head isn't quite touching the roof you can carry three people in the back of here and a bit of a push now some other features which are quite handy armrest has some storage there oh we got some cup holders there sort of everything some more storage there there's a through load in there for skis obviously and if I press a button here it's not working I know got to open the door that's Volvo safety for there we go look I can fold down these seat and then you've got some through loading for larger items there speaking of which let's move on to the boot so the outright low capacity is about 10% less than you get on a Mercedes E-Class but it's not too much of a problem because there's still enough room a standard actually look you get an automated tailgate which is a bit unnecessary there are a few useful features such as cubby spaces for storing your breakfast spreads there's a few tethering points and the opening for the boot is quite wide and there's not much of a lit to lift stuff across which is Handy got a little bit of extra storage there we've got a space practicality video where you can see just how much stuff we could fit in the s90s boot what it's like with three people in the back seats and how easy it is to fit a child seat so far the Volvo S90 makes a pretty good case for itself but does this continue when you hit the road this is a very comfy car to travel the suspension it's nice and supple deals really well with bumps you can upgrade it for optional adaptive dampers with air suspension in the backat but it's just not worth doing it because the standard setup is just that good and it's also very quiet as well hardly any wind whistle hardly any Tire raw and these seats oh my God these seats are brilliant this car is just so relaxing to travel in it's so Swedish I am super chilled right now and it's also packed with loads of safety kit so standard you get Lane departure warning also this car has something called piloted assist and it'll basically drive itself of the speed of 80 M an hour though you do have to occasionally put your hands back on the wheel otherwise it gets AC cross and beeps at you visibility is good as well you know hardly any annoying blind spots at all and if you click up there you can see for yourself by joining me for 360° video in terms of engines well the choice is quite narrow but there's only one that you really need anyway and that's the D4 the one in this car 2 L 4- cylinder diesel 190 horsepower not to 60 in around 8 seconds and it should return 64 m per gallon though this trick computer saying I'm only doing 44 it's all right I'll tell that it's not too bad and it's a puny engine the only problem is this 8speed gearbox which while smooth when you put your foot down there we go finally it's found its gear now it's taking off and really if you want a fast acting automatic gearbox the one in the BMW 5 series is a little bit quicker witted in fact that brings me on to the fact that if you want a sport Saloon yeah it's not this Volvo the BMW is sportier to drive I mean this does go around corners well enough but it's all just a bit when it's a bit Volvo it looks on the side of comfort that's fine that is fine if this bothers you there are some other things about the S90 which could also put you off here's five the S90 is only available with four cylinder engines whereas Rivals you can get them with six cylinders and even eight it's not very impressive the way this stitching doesn't quite line up it's really bothering my OCD this touch screen looks great but it soon gets covered with sticky handprints and then it looks there I don't really know what the point of this cubby space is cuz you can't really put much there at all if you dare to drive your Volvo a little bit too enthusiastically over a hump or a hump back bridge or a hill then this happens no fly me this dramatic seat belt tightening is designed to prevent you rolling around the cabin if the car suddenly leaves the road so perhaps it's not actually a bad thing and that brings us on to five cool things about the Volvo S90 these Swedish design seats have super slim backs to maximize rear knee room the daytime running lights are designed to look like Thor's hammer which was called
