**Creating a Spa Experience in the Kitchen**
I recently decided to take some time to pamper myself in our kitchen. I started by taking water and lemons, but I had to cut them just right. My partner was determined to have a spa experience in our kitchen, and I got annoyed that it took me so much time to prepare my lemon water. However, as the saying goes, "when life gives you lemons, make lemon water." I realized that pulling the kitchen together wasn't just about having everything match, but also about creating a functional space.
To achieve this, I decided to buy some new things for our kitchen. I ordered a new knife block and some new silverware, which I was really excited about. Our current silverware had been mismatched for so long, and the new black silverware with see-through cabinets is a game-changer. Not only do the items look purposeful when they're in sets, but they also make our kitchen feel more put-together.
One of the questions I've seen asked in the comments about my DIY projects is how to regrout your kitchen or bathroom. Luckily, there's a product called Grout Renew that can help. It's essentially just a sealant that you can apply to your existing grout to give it a fresh new look without having to regrout entirely.
**Hanging Sconces with an Electrician**
I recently had the opportunity to watch my partner Richard, an electrician, hang our sconces in the kitchen. I was trusting him to get the job done, and he did a great job. He explained that it's essential to turn off the breaker to the power that you're working on before attempting any electrical work. He also showed me how to use his voltage checker to ensure there's no electricity flowing through the wires.
We decided to hang our new pendant light in the breakfast nook, which is a bit tricky because it's located high up. We also have a beautiful Moroccan-inspired crystal chandelier for the same space, as well as a ceiling medallion that adds an architectural interest. Our kitchen has a built-in cabinet with see-through glass cabinets, but we're planning to use it to store some decorative items when we host parties.
**DIY Artwork for the Nook**
I recently discovered a fun DIY project that I'm excited to share with my readers. We're creating a unique artwork using old silverware and spray paint. The process involves spraying white primer onto the spoons and forks, attaching mismatched frames with glass pieces, and arranging a piece of fabric as the backing for each frame.
As we worked on the project, Joey and I discussed the design and layout. We decided to create an "eating-inspired" art piece that reflects our love for food and cooking. The finished product looks beautiful, and it's become a great addition to our kitchen decor.
**The Finished Look**
Our kitchen is finally coming together, thanks to all of the hard work and DIY projects we've completed. Kate did a fantastic job styling the dishes in the cabinets, and we even installed cool knobs on everything. The poo poo Palace is totally installed and rocking it – I love how it looks! My partner asked if I'd like to try the lemon water again, and I have to say that I'm hooked.
