The Audi A8: A Review of its Unique Charm and Comfortable Features

I must say that I'm not offended by this car, it's just that it's quite funky, isn't it? It's like a big diamond on a pretty basic band. The front is definitely the jewel that pops out, with its gleaming appearance that catches your eye. However, as a connoisseur of cars, I have to admit that I'm not entirely won over by this particular model.

As for the engine, it's a V6 3L turbocharged powertrain, which is quite impressive. But what really sets it apart is the addition of larger batteries, which allows Audi to claim that it can achieve an estimated 30 miles in full electric mode. This means that you could potentially drive to work in pure electric mode, reducing your carbon footprint and making for a more environmentally friendly driving experience.

But the real star of the show is undoubtedly the interior. Oh man, this is nice! The Audi A8 has one of the best interiors in any car, period. With plenty of legroom and comfortable seating, it's no wonder that I was able to recline into my seat with ease. And with features like four-zone climate control, everyone can chill at their own temperature.

As I sat down to test drive the car, I couldn't help but notice how sturdy and well-constructed it felt. The materials used in its construction are top-notch, and the attention to detail is impressive. It's clear that Audi has put a lot of thought into creating a comfortable and luxurious driving experience.

Now, as a seasoned car enthusiast, I have to say that I've always had a soft spot for Audi. And when it comes to choosing between the three big German manufacturers - Audi, BMW, and Mercedes - I tend to lean towards Audi. There's just something about the way they handle on the road that feels right, you know? Plus, their suspension, steering, and seat comfort are all top-notch.

Of course, as a car enthusiast, there are always going to be some trade-offs when it comes to choosing between comfort and performance. But with the Audi A8, I feel like you can have the best of both worlds. It's not just about getting from point A to point B in style and comfort - it's also about having fun behind the wheel.

But what really sets the Audi apart is its ability to handle when driven hard. I mean, yes, they are certainly not the most exciting cars on the road, but once you get past that initial hesitation, they can surprise you with their performance. And let me tell you, it's a joy to drive!

As for the powertrain, well, at the moment it's all about the hybrid system. It's not as punchy as some of its rivals, I'll admit, but it's still got plenty of oomph. And when you're cruising along in electric mode, it feels like a dream.

In conclusion, while the Audi A8 may not be the most exciting car on the road, it's certainly a comfortable and luxurious one. With its impressive features, sturdy construction, and attention to detail, it's no wonder that I'm giving it an 7.5 out of 10 as a driver's car. And if you're looking for a car that offers the best of both worlds - comfort and performance - then the Audi A8 is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennow it's time to get a first look and first drive of a new EV yes it's the fifth gear recharge team test today the team test at the BMW I4 M50 the I4 is BMW's first all electric Grand Coupe and uses the same platform as their 4 Series petrol and Diesel models we have the high performance M50 version which is the EV equivalent of the celebrated M4 but at 64,000 costs a few grand less right gang the I4 M50 what do you think ym50 well it's a sport version isn't it it's bit like I3 yeah but why not just call an mi4 m4i mi4 like mi4 and then the Five series obviously they my five I'm just going to say I'm dyslexic there's way too many letters and numbers for me on this car tell you what though it's great and this this this this Matt finish I'm a fan I'd actually call this satin and if you want to get official it's actually called Frozen ptoo blue metallic all of us were blown away with a finish we really think it makes the line stand out however because it's a BMW there had to be a bit of discussion about that Grill can I get the elephant out of the room though can we just come around the front yeah it's a fully electric car so there's not an air Grill when this first came out I thought yes hell yes because it's Unique it's individual where do you all say I warmed up to it I didn't like it when I saw the Press shots cuz it didn't have a number plate now it's got a number plate that breaks it up a little bit yeah and also I think with this current electric cars where there isn't a grill it somehow looks better I think all in all it's a it's a pretty car I've gone from hating it to being moderately accepting of it shall we have a look at the boot oh why not that's a tailgate I thought it was a boot like a saloon good size AR it this just annoys me do you know what I mean 60 70 grand in a car and you've got two bags of cables why aren't they hidden that is a lot of St space for them like a Hoover like a Dyson thing other Hoovers are available apparently like a pully out jobber I mean imagine when you're driving when you're on W oh bang bang Bang Yeah I think there's going to be a few other bits inside that might annoy you I'm a bit concerned this might be a bit small very spacious does it h you know what though not sort of falling in it's all right you know what it's okay I'm cozy you know they they say that you can get three in the back I don't think that you could it'd be tight no a imagine I put my foot here look at this you getting I'm coming in the middle do you know what I'm over I'm over there now that's look at that yeah there's no way BMW having made a bespoke electric platform yet that means it's slightly compromised they didn't need this tunnel did they this is the Legacy again of not doing their own platform you've got the big console with the gear lever and all of that isn't really necessary with an electric car these days why does it have a gear lever yeah you got to be able to select reverse yeah but you can have button suppose yeah I like that big curvy screen screen is lovely proper curved it is really nice yeah now Ste Ste wheel too chunky I can't I can't actually get your hands don't go all the way around they I can't get out of my head just how uncomfortable that steer is what what person signed that Liam n's got big hands maybe he signed it off you know what they say big hands big gloves that's right should we drive and see what it's like so all of us had a go at driving it we took it to the handling track an 80 Kow battery Powers twin Motors producing a combined 544 horsepower which gets the I4 from not to 62 in 3.9 seconds despite it weighing 2.2 tons what do you think then it feels like a BMW doesn't it ride quality is good tell you what it's got good acceleration isn't it I think we were all pretty unanimous the power delivery was Sensational the amount of power was very impressive there is very little body roll and can you tell it's half a ton heavier than the M4 it feels very stiff but when you get to the corners you do feel it's a bit lazier on the direction change first Impressions this thing is an absolute Beast Jimmy was really knocked over by how you know the performance of that car but our point of reference for that car is Porsche taken it's not quite in the league of a of a Porsche okay two laps time out I'm just moving you're you're sliding over I'm sliding over I wanted all of it to make me feel magical and special and part of the car and involved and it just didn't do that it's not talking to me like a Porsche tyan does it's not got that fluidity or the nice sporty handling Jimmy's turn unleash the roller coaster oh Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy come I just suggest sew down a whisker put the traction on please yes we were slightly doers but not Jimmy it seems who was enjoying himself so much he forgot to tell us anything about the car what do you think of it Jimmy uh uh what do you think JY I mean I mean we were petrified if I'm really honest but I got it back cuz he spewed in the Hedge after a lap and a half with me I'm I'm really looking forward to this oh you will honestly no I am he's straight off the line oh my God I'm just going to be quiet for a minute it does feel heavy in your hands though doesn't it it's a bit softer it's not as precise it's ridiculously fast right let's see if we can oh no get here flat you can get the back out a bit I had a roast dinner at lunchtime you know what you can provoke it into a bit of over steer it's quite M4 like I said what was wasn't better with you he's gone what what's happened roast dinner so on based on that performance from Jimmy I think he's quite he's actually you're a g JP back to business what would we score the I4 M50 and have BMW made an EV machine worthy of the Madge I think they probably have actually for me it's got to be an eight statistically BMW has given us an mcard but I don't feel that the handling is quite right I don't think it's agile enough and therefore I'm going to score it a six I love The Styling I love the performance it gave me the vomit Comet experience and I'm giving it a rip roaring eight out of 10 I enjoy driving the car but I feel like it's still a compromised model without the fully electric platform so I'm going to give it a seven which delivers the BMW I4 M50 a respectable team test score of 20 9 out of 40 I see you watching some of our fifth gear EV online content and in that case you may be interested in this week's video sponsor the new hypervolt home 3 Pro charging system comes ready from the factory with solar integration ability meaning your charge Supply can be greener and cheaper so if you're looking to get the latest in British charging technology then head over to the hypervolt website at hypervolt doco or you can simply click on the link below today the team tested the Honda Civic e h the Honda Civic just another hatch right well no the Civic is like Volkswagen's Gulf a motoring Legend the first generation came out in 72 and since then over 27 million have been sold the 11th gen came out on its 50th birthday we're interested in its new Hybrid Power but should you be ladies and gentlemen this is the brand new Civic Honda eev it is their hybrid car oh what's the face it's not a Civic to me because it hasn't got the flicks in the wings it's not aive it's not sporty it's not aggressive it's not it doesn't look like a hatchback at all what's that on the back there this rear end do you know what the hot hyena look looks like ugly horrible things we got slopey bum do you know what I mean did you not see that yeah like Cur nothing at like Cur horrible horrible form of a hyena Jason compared it to a hyena of course he has many many hyenas in his backyard so he knows all about them yeah Jason's got a fetish for hyenas it kind of looks a bit like other cars on the road whereas before there was no mistaking a Civic was a Civic so in case you missed it looks have been written offers needing a bit more work never mind because Hondas are known for engineering and the Atkinson cycle 2 L with two licky Motors promises Splendid refinement and economy this is a 2 L hybrid 2 L hybrid it's got 181 horsepower turbocharge no there a four cylinder yeah but there's only two exhaust cylind it must be done for efficiency and space saving I want to show you the other end the hyena end because there is something interesting in here this ladies and gentlemen is a sideways moving parcel shelf why is that new I I know why is no one else I know I really like that how much weight could you no nothing it's just cover I think it's a lovely idea I'm with you it's very clever the cool parcel shelf cancels out the dull looks fantastic so this is the advanced spec top there are three trim levels so we're in the top notcho which means we get w w w wo did you say we're in the top spec yes why have we got plastic seats it's synthetic leather no it's plastic there's no leather in it leather comes from an animal look in this spec we get an electrically adjustable heated front seat heated steering wheel which is all good for me and panoramic sunroof which is good for you in the back it's a steering wheel in leather or plastic it's the synthetic leather plastic well I have plenty of room though do you know interior wise there's some really nice touches in there but there's some awful things as well so the nice touches I like the honeycomb on the dashboard I don't like the seats on I top spec car I want leather seats I don't want something leather I.E fake leather ey plastic okay plastic Jason isn't happy but he might like this car on the move the Honda is clever basically it's an EV but the petrol motor Powers the battery which Powers the two motors which Powers the car the petrol engine can cut in and drive the wheels at a constant speed but it's hard to tell when also Honda claims right team yeah here we are we are going to play a little game okay okay in a very short while I'm going to ask you to close your eyes what for what for because I want you to use your senses your other senses I don't want you're looking at the screen want you to tell me when you think it's in electric mode and when you think the engine is assisting I love a car game so I asked the team to use all their sensors apart from their eyes to work out when the car was in electric mode and when it was using the engine in hybrid mode because Honda thinks that this is a seamless change so we all closed our eyes and played a game of whether we could tell what modes it was in and Vicki would drive the car in certain modes right eyes are shot right go then so what do you think we're in now well you're coasting down a hill for starters curse you curse you and your extra sensory perception I'm going to say hybrid right now yeah well I don't well it's a bit of everything isn't it well it's hard to tell a you're on EV eeve for me hybrid I'm going hybrid he yeah what is it I'm on hybrid oh hang on a minute Mr Plato oh this is an easy game well I detecting we were going down here you one to me who's the one who's just lost and there's more not as it seems trickery the Honda Civic does not have a gearbox there's a virtual box the itvt which fakes gear changes using extra cabin sound and break regen which give it the feel of rising revs in sport mode or wowers but does it actually work bit of air oh yeah does work yeah yeah you can hear that s yeah it sounds quite it feel it sounds reasonably real more real than many other car yeah sounds Hond how does it feel behind a Willie yeah is right it actually does does feel like I've got a Honda chassis underneath me I always think that Hondas make decent handling cars oh yeah absolutely so that is a a tick I mean it hasn't got enough grunt obviously only being two two liter normally aspirated with a with a tiny electric engine in there to back it up I can't wait for the the the Civic type are really can't look at how the miles per gallon is is dropping rapidly seems like you got a bit bit of understeer yeah that's right we're not built for economy are we no hey this non-plug-in hybrid can beat 50 MPG with gentle use that's as good as a diesel do you know what I don't think I like the idea of non-plug-in hybrids because why uh because it just feels a bit pointless yeah I like the idea of a plugin hybrid and then you will get a clear for example 30 to mil of electric range and you got a special electric button of course I understand all the benefits of it being a traditional hybrid you don't have to plug it in anywhere but I kind of missed the fact that it can run on say 30 mil of electric power all in one go for me this kind of hybrid car is a bit old-fashioned I suppose it works for City driving but to get the maximum amount of efficiency you're better off with a plugin this might be beneficial for people who don't have access to home charging or might find it hard to find a public charger so there's that benefit that you haven't got to plug it in so we've got good kit a good chassis good economy and smart Tech can the Civic shrug off those hyena comments though and deliver a more friendly conclusion I am enjoying myself seems like it's definitely it's able and it's agile and you know it's quick enough so the Honda Civic it looks very much different to all the other ones but it still lives up to its Civic name it's well built it's decent to drive I think it's an improvement from the last generation and I can't wait to have a go in the typar so for that reason I'm going to give it a seven I quite like the look of this car overall it's got Sleek swoopy lines but for me I would have preferred it even more for it to look sportier and more aggressive so I'm really intrigued to see what the typar version would look like but this one I'm going to give it a seven I like it I found it enjoyable for what it is I am going to give it a score of 7.5 it simply can't be any more than a seven but I reom when the ti bar comes along that will probably look like a nine not too shabby then the Honda Civic is all right it may be a slowburn design to tempt you in but once it does it's got the power to win you over but we still can't wait for the typo today we tested the mercedesbenz c300e this is a plug-in hybrid so shorter trips can be completed on electric power alone we have the AMG line specification which is the cheapest model in the range it costs 46,000 £310 it is a hybrid car and it can do between 65 and 7 m on electric power load which means this car is one of the best plug-in hybrids around when it comes to EV only range which I think is pretty good and could be The Sweet Spot that most people need without even touching the 2 L petrol engine how long to charge between 30 minutes and 3 hours depending on what you're charger is which is pretty good pretty imp I'm just going to say this off the bat I'm quite keen on this stylistically yeah I mean these wheels don't they're tickling my fancy that's too that's too much there that's too big I like I like that cuz it's a little bit different no me neither no you don't like it I like clean spokes I like it even more now those Wheels they're going to be a definite point of controversy but I like them tell me you don't like these though do you I don't like those real lights just look a bit strange to me the way they kind of I will agree with you on that so there's a pet engine an electric motor and a battery and combined that gives you 333 horsepower I think that's AMG like a coupe type look I think that this is like it's a bit slsy isn't it I think the front of the car is really aggressive and looks mean actually so I think the styling is good there right while I'm going in I'm in the back you're in the back son once you get in it feels like a m it's quality it's comfortable I like this shape that they've got here because they've added a bit of texture some different materials it's a really good looking cockpit area yeah this double decker system is quite unusual so what's the Merc like when it's underway not to 62 anyone I know this y 6.1 seconds 6.1 seconds oh yeah that's not bad 155 mph top whack how are we finding the r it's sporty enough to take my box very acceptable in the rear yeah and it's not too noisy in the rear either Rog noise who said that huh pardon hey what what you forget he's there it's quite Pleasant it's a good bit of Kit which to be fair it needs to be cuz that's the best part of 50 Grand to put that in context £50,000 would buy Tesla's bestselling model 3 with 270 mil of pure EV range I have got one thing left okay and we need to head to a track for this m claims the c300e can drive 60 to 70 M on EV only this figure is based on an official test called the worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure or wltp for short however that's conducted in lab conditions on a rolling road so we've come up with our own test that we think is far closer to real world driving the question is with EV mode selected will the car match the official range Jimmy was our nominated real world driver now in here yeah are some real world tests which I'm going to now no no no no no I want to buy the test announcer yes and I'm stopwatch Queen let's get a show on the road 3 2 1 here we go accelerator 30 and hold for 60 seconds oh I'm going too fast I'm way too fast I'm off I'm off I'm breaking going through the chicane and 30 30 you dropped I know I dropped the Press on 28 5 4 what stop yes please emergency stop Jason and I were thoroughly thoroughly entertained accelerate to 60 M hour as fast as possible now now go then what happens I don't know oh no 45 50 55 60 avoid Hedgehog okay avoided the Hedgehog pull over to that emergency vehicle pass oh there it goes accelerate to 50 m hour and hold for 60 seconds shut up that's what it says now you can do this at 50 I know you can come on come on come on are you come on come on come on yes nicely played 5 4 3 2 one now what stop and perform a three-point turn oh right reverse my mouth dried up has it yeah my mouth's dried up accelerator 40 mph and weave from side to side right for 40 yeah and it's a gentle we gentle we okay got to do that for for 60 I'm on it I might be sick yeah three two one fet there he is the little brighter h on got to be honest from my point of view I think that went quite well in the real World we've done almost four miles however the car's computer was telling us that we'd used nine mil of range no way really the real world test was to see how far the Mercedes would actually go on battery only it states around 65 to 70 mil with me behind the wheel we have that that's interesting though isn't it I wonder how much that feret cost maneuver that was a couple of miles there I reckon yeah in my you know 30 years on the road in real world situations I've never come across a fet so maybe that test is a little bit unfair okay so our test wasn't quite as scientific as the official wltp and nowhere near as long but it was probably a reasonable reflection of how people actually drive so what would we score the Mercedes C300 E I really want to give it a high score because I love the fact that it can can do between 65 and 70 mil on electric power alone but in our real world test it didn't achieve that so I'm going to have to downgrade it a little bit I'm going to give it a 7.5 but from the boy perspective it seems the merc's other attributes outweigh the range issue overall I thought this Mercedes was a top-notch bit of engineering with a great set of figures surrounding it so I'm giving it a wafting nine out of 10 it's a big thumbs up for me I like it apart from the rear and on that basis I'm going to give it a great score I'm going to give it eight which gives the Mercedes c300e an impressive team test score of 24.5 out of 30 so this week the team tested the new Volkswagen id5 the id5 is vw's big brother to the popular ID3 and four it's a 5-seater SUV starting at £49,000 but ours is the max spec which is 7 Grand more VW is really gunning for that prized Tesla territory and the I5 has a claimed range of 33 miles should you choose this car over a model Y what comes after three and four now that's what it is it's the VW id5 their EV it's a bit like a four to here really a bit and then it's it's exactly the same it's exactly the same up to here it's absolutely identical to the and then it's got one of these slopy back Coupe Styles what do we think do you like it well this is their electric SUV and I don't think it is the most stylish thing I have ever seen I just think it's clunky that's quite strong wow that is strong these door they're so deep they're so high I that's almost sort of chest height for me that's big think from side it might be a bit claustrophobic speaking of doors though quite like these flush door handles I know it's not much but it's kind of cool you're right it's not much Sid e easy pleas look at it but look at the door handles it's cool it I was never a fan of the id4 is too boxy but I do actually prefer the back end of the id5 I like that swooping nness it looked a bit more sporty like show back let's have a look you know what I don't think any of us particularly like the looks of the car now this is a bit weird this is good they've got a nice nice net thing what's that for well you can put stuff under it and it's got a zip you could put Jason in it imagine that it's just for stuff yeah stuff that moves around your milk get in the car all right get in the car all right come on we've got driving to do who ordered the brown no I like it I love Brown when when it's done nicely this just a little strip there strip there do you not like that there's too much going on I'm this is funny this is interesting this because I don't find that offensive at all now see the interior it's got this brown and black two-tone I didn't find that that bad actually I quite liked it in a way but the girls hated it which I don't understand because for me that was probably one of the nicest things about the car me and Jason were team Brown interior two-tone can we have some airon on D cuz it's Jolly hot well that comes to a problem when you put the airut on because there are no knobs this has the same sort of style like all the new vws have like the girl ID3 and and the biggest pain is the fact that you know that panel doesn't illuminate at night for the temperature control so you lit it's a major distraction this one here so you're driving around and you want a bit more volume and you're like what am I pressing what am I sliding big sunroof that's nice yeah can you close the blind halfway I don't know how to do it it's up there it's touch as well by the way you got stroke it that's touch are you ready don't go too far cuz I'm going to tell you oh stop I'm done um in the back I'm I'm doing okay but I'm 5 five and a half yeah I'm over six foot I've got head room my head's you really over six foot I am I'm six foot exactly no I'm I'm taller than you that's only cuz you wear heels anyway mov moving on ready ready ready go we go we how does it feel behind the wheels it's okay sing's nice when in in this sport mode got nice weight to it but it's not quick it wants to do everything for you I want to tell it what to do I want to tell it what motor wants I want to turn the traction control off I want to do me regen braking yeah do do you know what I mean yeah it's too clever for it own theyve tried to make everything so simple yeah but I think it's too simple now so although you haven't got buttons up front you have got an improved voice recognition system do you want to try this out here we go I've got a button Sumer can you turn the air conditioner up to maximum and call us down cuz we're roasting ID okay supposedly it's on Max now it understood what you just said oh my go surprisingly set air conditioning to warm me up sorry sorry what Now by and large I have an issue with Voice controlling cars because it just simply doesn't work and you know VW have made a claim that this works better than the rest again it simply doesn't we'd better edit this bit just in case I use a bad word I'm hot we know you are Plato sorry this is the minimum temperature oh but guess what it ain't cold enough Jason had a play around with the voice recognition he's not the world's most patient man and this tested his patience shut up everything inside the car does doesn't have any buttons I think the only buttons that exist on it is the window switches that's it it will be great to find something decent to say what about the range let's talk about the range we need some proper buttons or at least some illumination particularly when you're driving at night nearly 3 years down the line you'd think that VW would go you know what we need to put buttons back in this and they haven't and it's really frustrating the system is not intuitive no that's just moaning well do you know what we can only review the car as delivered and as tested and just remind me how much it is again remind me 505,000 for an id5 is everybody tired or is the id5 making us grumpy let's get the team sces so the id5 is a family car and it does have good statistics for that it has over 300 miles of range and it does have features that support a family and I do think Volkswagen's part is in the right place unfortunately it's not a particularly good car okay it's got a good claimed range but to use every day to live with I think it would just drive you absolutely mad I have to say with a heavy heart that I'm not impressed with this I am usually a VW fan I was hoping for more I was hoping for this car to Sparkle it doesn't I don't like the dashboard I don't like the infotainment I don't like the switch gear in there I do like the gear selected knob on the top of the main dashboard that's a nice touch but all those other things are just annoying oh I was going to give it a five for an id5 but I don't even think it deserves that so I'm going to give it a 4.5 have I done that the right way around no VW if you're listening please please please put buttons back in the car because that's the reason why it's getting getting a three overall I'm going to give the id5 which costs about £55,000 a five so the id5 is going to get a poor score it's going to get a four remember that car's over 50 Grand 162 out of 40 is a pretty poor score it certainly looks like VW can't make a great spec translate into a great car shame today the team tested a Ford Cougar full hybrid electric vehicle forever there's a good reason to be testing this it's Ford's crack at a mass Market SUV hybrid cleverly targeting those ready to take a step towards EV ownership but not go the whole hog you don't need a charger and it looks like a conventional car and at £36,000 it's competitively priced there's a petrol engine helped by an electric motor and energy is harvested during braking to top up the battery but you can't plug it in and you can't go far on electric power only the system is designed to deliver lower emissions and better economy than a petrol only car but does it hang together so just to get this really clear it's got a petrol engine Y which charges up like a generator a battery y it's a 1.1 KW battery so this is just a little bit of assistance that help the fuel economy I still don't understand how that works because you've got your petrol engine which is being a generator and driving this y an engine charging a battery we're just passing energy around but this is a really good absolute beginner step to anyone who's thinking about going down the electric route because you don't have to remember to plug this car in every time you bring at home so it's for those people that are lazy and also some people don't have the option of having a plug outside the house so can I just tell something I have got a bit of an issue with stood here yeah is is this you know that interior plastic which is really sort of scratchy never seen it on the outside yeah but don't you think that they are smart in putting the cheaper plastic outside where you don't really stand here and touch it I suppose you don't looks wise then quite a nice looking thing though is it yeah yeah yeah doesn't offend does it no it's just a nice looking car I think I referred to it is vanilla vanilla is okay Ain it vanilla ice cream we all like vanilla yeah it's not right Ripple I mean that's a proper ice cream yeah but you're going to have to pay extra though aren't you for your rasby Ripple here's the best one tut3 it's okay isn't it it's good yeah everything on the outside is as it should be anyway should we hop in and uh yes do let's what what's this for well do you want to try it heads up display that is a little bit Starship Enterprise isn't it yeah what I am impressed by is the space I mean it is capacious and I'm feeling really with the glass up there nice that's a nice word isn't it capacious capacious something that is just uh ruffling my feathers a little bit yeah is that same plastic that's on the roof there is the dash the same we we have got we've had a bit more money spent up here and you can recline your back seat as well you got to be careful when testing a new car because sometimes a booby trap can be found so what what I do this so there's a what's happened there he's a plunker sometimes than me so I can recline this that's quite nice is can recline oh I like that so what we're doing we're going down to the beach are we family day out right up here you can now see what's happening each time I'm lifting off the car is regenerating yeah and and sending bit of juice back into the battery so that's when I lift off and when I break and then when I put my foot on the throttle then it's sending sending power to the front wheels so it's front wheeel drive only so the boy's earlier concern that the hybrid system is pointless is not justified because the car is storing energy that would otherwise be wasted and then uses it when you need it as you can see now it's constantly getting a little bit of a boost and also at really low speeds in town it can trickle along in electric power all of which results in a pretty respectable 48.7 MPG so we got 90 horsepower 190 horer yeah it's 2 and half Le you be more than that yeah you would you got to you got to be using that now for economy rather than out and out performance you not to 60 in about 9.1 seconds which is you know a little bit lethargic but then it is a big family car so this car is one of the better handling SUVs out there anyone for a slum test oh I'm not for that no definitely not Jimmy doesn't like any sort of fast driving he's quite prone to be billias right are you ready peeps not really Jason and I are trained drivers with trophies to show for it jimmy'd rather scoop ice cream than prizes that's a lot of cones that's a lot of cones and they look pretty close together don't that is a lot of cones let's try it shall we yeah oh oh one oh is it oh can you tell my traction you know what can you find a traction control button um know it's not a lot roll not a lot of roll can I say I had quite a bit of roll going on back here even though this is an SUV it also gives the driver a bit of entertainment who else wants to go come on Jimmy you and me swap my love come on oh no come on now I've got two racing drivers and me brace yourself for some back seat driving brace brace you're not funny you're not funny there we go that's all right see a little bit more fluid keep it steady on the throttle steady on the throttle I mean I suppose we probably weren't meant to hit the odd cone but you know I'm getting this in one ear that in another here my Palms are sweating things are going to get clipped aren't they that's it go on go on it's it nice and smooth that's it I'm sticking my tongue out did you not have your tongue out full concentration but that was a bit more real world wasn't it yeah it was definitely more real world have you driven before have you got a license aside from Jimmy's driving we all thought the cougar could maneuver as you might expect with Ford but is it really a car for all seasons and do we care that it's not a plugin so yes scores um Jimmy's driving a warm but the car I'm going to give it a great score because I think it's just a mega bit of kit it's a big nine it's a great family car and because of that I'm giving it a magnificent 7 out of 10 my impression of the cougar for was very good in fact so good I'm going to give the car an eight a strong team test score of 24 out of 30 and it is a great recipe for those EV nervous drivers today the team tested the scoda superb IV estate the scoda superb let's face it isn't a poster car it's not even an SU V very untrendy practical families love them but will they love it with plug-in hybrid power are we looking at the Pinnacle of value or a bit of a yarn twice a start at 38 Grand we've got the top spec which is 46 you get almost 40 Mi on electric power only and then a 1.4 L petrol turbo kicks in I think for value for money the scod are superb over the last few years whenever they is it superb they are superb I mean How brave have a to call their car superb and then they've got to live up to it hey I'm a little bit underwhelmed it looks like every other scod state I've ever seen where's the progression I think it is a really stylish bit of Kit my mom had a scoda Octavia doesn't look you think that's an old Trope I think they're so much better now but Jimmy wasn't finished yet can I just point something out what what is this here it looks like a bird has had a bit of an accident on the side a nasty badge isn't it that squiggly signature it doesn't feel like it should be on a car that feels like that should be on some sort of violin or OBO this represents the two people who started a car and a motor bike company before scoda took it over so this is their nod to the path I mean I'm not saying it's not a nice looking car I think it is and you know what I think it is just an age thing I like an state car now I've gone 10 years now Estates 10 years as of this year just Estates love them and with kids now it's just open the boot whatever you want it in you need luggage space for bikes and kids stuff like that I'm going to give you luggage space because in here is a very impressive amount of space and it was large you could almost lie straight yeah oh do you know what so yeah you know karon took it upon himself to to display the size of the boot well actually not the right s person he's only a we little lad isn't he let's open him up that had an ice scraper integrated somewhere in their booths oh there's a no there is I tell you what there is no we've got an umbrella in the door um in the door umbrella in the door I love an umbrella in the door is it there it's got to be it's got to be it's got to be no let's try this one I'm trying to find the ice scraper somebody's nicked out umbrella I'm me I've got the umbrella that's great oh it's tiny boys Feast yourselves on the back seat oh my God Jesus that is huge isn't it the leg room in in the rear is insane it's like a limo the package inside this car is starting to look way more impressive than what I considered was going on on the outside of the car however the boys felt our Lauren and Clement version didn't quite deserve the price hike over the entry level option I'm still getting a standard feel and this is me to be nicer I see where you're coming from for the the extra 8,000 but it doesn't feel extra special okay everyone should we strap in let's and off we go feel I like the steering I think it is pretty accurate I've got nice feedback I feel properly connected to this car and it's got a good amount of grip underneath what do you think the grip would be like over the jump p should we try yeah good idea Jim we don't look I've got lot of modes no oh need a little bit more speed no that was fine that was fine so after a day with the scoda superb would it get a score to match its name I think the scoda superb is one of the best value for money Estates out there so I'm going to give it an eight the scoda superb hybrid it's going to be a good score it's going to be a great score I'm giving it an eight the space absolutely blew me away but the styling just wasn't there so I give it a solid seven good things about the car are the handling the ride and then of course you've got all of that space inside so I'm going to give it a good solid eight which gives the scota superb an excellent score of 31 out of 40 today the team tested the Volvo C40 recharge the C40 is Volvo's first exclusively all electric car it looks like a coupe version of the xc40 a car we tested a couple of years ago and liked very much Volvos have such a strong brand recognition that during that test Jason made this the B claim I reckon you could do a blindfold test and sit in half a dozen cars and you know immediately you were in evolvo so I very gently guided him into four different cars to see if he could sus out which one was the Volvo right then poppet ready for car number one yes I'm as ready as I ever will be can I ask a question before we do this yeah yeah did you get dressed with that blindfold on this morning cuz really I think you've gone for great grandma's sh is that the best you can come up with right come on then so how many cars you got here four right oh what's that so this is the car but you're not you're was my tummy right like they do in all good police dramas I'm now going to protect your head I'm going to ask you where's where's the door so the door opening is here okay so if you can and I I have got your head but don't go in too quickly oh there we go you're in darling so this is car number one so just remember what your thoughts are on car number one one and we can uh ask you at the end oh what's that that's a knob you should be used this it's got knobs in the back ah interesting more than one right up so I'm I've got your head yes this is the open again I'm going to protect your head please if you wouldn't mind cuz you need all the brain cells that you can get oh it's very high in the back of here okay right so again just keep your thoughts on what car you think it might be I know I know what this is Jason thinks he's got it and he's only two cars in let's hope we can confuse him you really could work with the police really you're very good oh thank you four and old people son no that's not of all It Right Moving On okay you get right this is quite high as well it's this car's broken no this isn't theol so before we unmask you right like Batman yes what do you think the V is number one two three or four two two okay I really hate it when Jason's right but annoyingly his blindfold test that he claimed he could pass two years ago he did which was very irritating oh wow look at that good guess well done Jason Volvo always Stitch a little flag inside their side of their seats but also you can tell from the shape of the headrest and the little monkey got it on a tiny tiny tiny thing on with the test this is the C40 recharge twin and it costs nearly £62,000 and as the name suggests it has two Motors giving it four-wheel drive and here are some extra stats for you to enjoy Jason lovely to see your beautiful face it's nice to see you but I'm liking the look of this well exactly so this is Volvo's xc40 recharge it's fully electric it is a coupe SUV it packs a punch yes it's got twin Motors uh this is the twin the twin one it's a fully loaded twin motor one 408 horsepower not to 62 4.7 seconds so what do you think of it then peeps I like the look of it to be honest but then again I'm a big Volvo fan usually I'm not a fan of coup SUVs I think they look a bit bit vile but this one looks kind of pleasant let me reveal a nice bit of attention to detail where's your button under there yeah just a little look at this handle H H love it so that I can when I'm bringing you your Curry darling I can pop it neatly in there the other thing is the shape of this bootle compared to the xc40 yeah that's going to be a problem isn't it for height you're not you're not actually going to get much right how are things in the back then boys bit tight but leg room that's fine fine I will say looking at down there yeah don't like the fact I can see all the wires on for the um buttons on your seat they're all exposed so like you know when wir just taped up yeah what that's a bit po form no is B can I also point out one other thing please do curan if you were in the xc40 Victoria yes how would you start it I would start it with a button over there they've just put a cap on it about that's like it's fine but it's not I don't think I would pay what it costs if I had the Kia ev6 or the Hyundai You' You' get another person in the back seat more comfortably cuz you don't have the tunnel and up front as well it feels so much more spacious right then to the test track what' you reckon Victoria well I think it got quite a sort of traditional little hatchback feel to it I mean it's comfortable enough the right quality is okay in the back I wouldn't say it's I wouldn't say it's the most comfy seats I don't I don't feel like it's like a bench isn't it yeah is it exactly I was about to say I feel like I'm sitting on top of it not in it yeah I think after an hour you would feel a bit s be in mind this car does not 60 in 4.7 seconds why is it grab handles at the back a good coin especially for the two worst passengers on the planet yeah you've only got them on the doors and that's not really much grip is there just hold my hand on yes yes lucky I've got this here that's not my hand Vicki was uh driving along and for a change quite sensibly I have to say this does feel like a base model doesn't it although it's Grand it doesn't feel 60k it really doesn't if you told me this was the entry level 47 grand one you go okay maybe but it doesn't feel special enough to be 62,000 not for me I'm afraid team not for me yeah I agree let's get some scores and do some sums if I was in the market for a car like this I would also look at a Hyundai ionic 5 and that for me represents better value for money which is why I'm going to give this Volvo a six overall I think it's a nice looking car but it's less practical than the xc40 I don't think you get that much space for it so I'm going to give it a five overall as a package it's an absolute let down it should have been an8 out of 10 car but it's not and for that I'm going to give it a four just didn't capture our imagination it's a goodlooking car for sure I just don't I can't see 60 Grands wor of that value I really can't so I I can't give it a good score actually I'm going to give it a six which gives the Volvo C40 recharge trailer rather flat score of 21 out of 40 Volvo wants to set itself up as an EV Pioneer but this first attempt seems too expensive for what it delivers today the team tested the Audi A8 L prices for the 60 DFS Model start at 8 £ 6,000 but this long wheel-based version costs 90 for that you get a 340 horsepower petrol engine coupled to a 17.9 KW battery and motor which provides some EV only range and of course it's all-wheel drive righty hog gang the Audi A8 L for long it is a long car I've been in loads of these being chauffered around in they're Lush aren't they they're brilliant what do we think of this Grill I'll start by saying I'm not offended I don't love it but I'm not offended it's quite funky though isn't it it's like in your face it's it's it's a handsome Beast it's not bad but it just looks a bit old Manish first off I like A8 but as every generation goes on it looks a bit softer and this facelift version not quite feeling it well I think that the front is the jewel that pops out it glistens it shines it's a little bitow wow like a big diamond on a pretty basic band should we see what's underneath yes please I'll do the honors thank you it is unsurprisingly a V6 3 L engine turbocharge though OBS this version does have a bigger batteries which means Audi say you can do about 30 m in full electric mode you could probably bom on town getting to work in pure electric mode which is about half that of a Mercedes S-Class oh wow being an Audi they make possibly the best interiors out there of Any Car special oh man this is nice in here isn't it this is where this car comes into its own I mean how much legum have you got well can I come back Jason had the seat properly would have climed back well I'm over 6 foot and I've still got loads of room and look at look at Jason he's he's chilling let me just let me get in the full of ether mode there you go what's that like still fine the golden rule of a luxury limo is that you need to sort of fall asleep within 10 minutes and I did feel a bit drowsy so it's a thumbs up on that I need to see if you boys measure up look what Mommy's got yeah and um I've got 32 in of leg room do you need to know that oh it's massive there we go measuring the cook going in inches that's three Ines yes yeah good boy in the back as well well I've got 18 pneumatic cushions wow to help me to sleep yeah yeah yeah it's just a really lovely well engineered luxurious gin Palace uh excuse me news flash I press a button I am reclining oh yeah you're in reclin you going back even more yeah there we go I've reclined I'm quite enjoying the massage function you've got going on if you can can I have that yeah you can have this hang on this is for you wait wait should I set you up a there you are this this for me this is for you joh be call yes please the Audi also has four Zone climate control so everyone can chill at their own temperature should we go have a drive yes please let's go have a drive oh seat back's on this feels really nicely constructed and executed sturdy job back here sturdy that's a good expression yeah if if I think of the three big German manufacturers right you know Audi BMW Mercedes yeah in general I've always preferred the Audi's have you yeah the BMW's obviously things like the M3 and St they're great fun to play with they're the driver's cars yeah yeah as a daily family car I think the suspension feel of an Audi the steering feel the interface seat Comfort I've generally preferred it okay I think the right quality is really one the best in terms of what the German manufacturers have to offer I'd find it hard to disagree with that to be honest any Audi when you drive it hard they all under Ste like pigs they do they do I'm not saying they are the fun car of choice then you got to drive to have fun but once you get over that you get to a certain age right K's obviously there now yeah I'm well there you just want to get there in total wafty comfort or you could have the best of both worlds and you just buy Porsche yeah paname for a hyb which has the powertrain is it and how is that power Trin well we've got at the moment that's all right is it that's all right I mean it's a heavy car it's 2.3 tons but at the moment I'm in hybrid mode so I've still got a bit of power coming from that it's not pushing my head in the headrest like it's fine air it's 10 out of 10 for passenger Comfort but what would it score as a driver's car I would have scored this car a little bit more had it not been oh am I going too Punchy seven will I rush out and buy one H 7.5 oh it's lovely it's wafty it it massages your back and on that basis I'm going to give it an eight I'm going to give it a 7.5 that's a strong score for the A8 indeed showing the addition of hybrid power is adding valuenow it's time to get a first look and first drive of a new EV yes it's the fifth gear recharge team test today the team test at the BMW I4 M50 the I4 is BMW's first all electric Grand Coupe and uses the same platform as their 4 Series petrol and Diesel models we have the high performance M50 version which is the EV equivalent of the celebrated M4 but at 64,000 costs a few grand less right gang the I4 M50 what do you think ym50 well it's a sport version isn't it it's bit like I3 yeah but why not just call an mi4 m4i mi4 like mi4 and then the Five series obviously they my five I'm just going to say I'm dyslexic there's way too many letters and numbers for me on this car tell you what though it's great and this this this this Matt finish I'm a fan I'd actually call this satin and if you want to get official it's actually called Frozen ptoo blue metallic all of us were blown away with a finish we really think it makes the line stand out however because it's a BMW there had to be a bit of discussion about that Grill can I get the elephant out of the room though can we just come around the front yeah it's a fully electric car so there's not an air Grill when this first came out I thought yes hell yes because it's Unique it's individual where do you all say I warmed up to it I didn't like it when I saw the Press shots cuz it didn't have a number plate now it's got a number plate that breaks it up a little bit yeah and also I think with this current electric cars where there isn't a grill it somehow looks better I think all in all it's a it's a pretty car I've gone from hating it to being moderately accepting of it shall we have a look at the boot oh why not that's a tailgate I thought it was a boot like a saloon good size AR it this just annoys me do you know what I mean 60 70 grand in a car and you've got two bags of cables why aren't they hidden that is a lot of St space for them like a Hoover like a Dyson thing other Hoovers are available apparently like a pully out jobber I mean imagine when you're driving when you're on W oh bang bang Bang Yeah I think there's going to be a few other bits inside that might annoy you I'm a bit concerned this might be a bit small very spacious does it h you know what though not sort of falling in it's all right you know what it's okay I'm cozy you know they they say that you can get three in the back I don't think that you could it'd be tight no a imagine I put my foot here look at this you getting I'm coming in the middle do you know what I'm over I'm over there now that's look at that yeah there's no way BMW having made a bespoke electric platform yet that means it's slightly compromised they didn't need this tunnel did they this is the Legacy again of not doing their own platform you've got the big console with the gear lever and all of that isn't really necessary with an electric car these days why does it have a gear lever yeah you got to be able to select reverse yeah but you can have button suppose yeah I like that big curvy screen screen is lovely proper curved it is really nice yeah now Ste Ste wheel too chunky I can't I can't actually get your hands don't go all the way around they I can't get out of my head just how uncomfortable that steer is what what person signed that Liam n's got big hands maybe he signed it off you know what they say big hands big gloves that's right should we drive and see what it's like so all of us had a go at driving it we took it to the handling track an 80 Kow battery Powers twin Motors producing a combined 544 horsepower which gets the I4 from not to 62 in 3.9 seconds despite it weighing 2.2 tons what do you think then it feels like a BMW doesn't it ride quality is good tell you what it's got good acceleration isn't it I think we were all pretty unanimous the power delivery was Sensational the amount of power was very impressive there is very little body roll and can you tell it's half a ton heavier than the M4 it feels very stiff but when you get to the corners you do feel it's a bit lazier on the direction change first Impressions this thing is an absolute Beast Jimmy was really knocked over by how you know the performance of that car but our point of reference for that car is Porsche taken it's not quite in the league of a of a Porsche okay two laps time out I'm just moving you're you're sliding over I'm sliding over I wanted all of it to make me feel magical and special and part of the car and involved and it just didn't do that it's not talking to me like a Porsche tyan does it's not got that fluidity or the nice sporty handling Jimmy's turn unleash the roller coaster oh Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy come I just suggest sew down a whisker put the traction on please yes we were slightly doers but not Jimmy it seems who was enjoying himself so much he forgot to tell us anything about the car what do you think of it Jimmy uh uh what do you think JY I mean I mean we were petrified if I'm really honest but I got it back cuz he spewed in the Hedge after a lap and a half with me I'm I'm really looking forward to this oh you will honestly no I am he's straight off the line oh my God I'm just going to be quiet for a minute it does feel heavy in your hands though doesn't it it's a bit softer it's not as precise it's ridiculously fast right let's see if we can oh no get here flat you can get the back out a bit I had a roast dinner at lunchtime you know what you can provoke it into a bit of over steer it's quite M4 like I said what was wasn't better with you he's gone what what's happened roast dinner so on based on that performance from Jimmy I think he's quite he's actually you're a g JP back to business what would we score the I4 M50 and have BMW made an EV machine worthy of the Madge I think they probably have actually for me it's got to be an eight statistically BMW has given us an mcard but I don't feel that the handling is quite right I don't think it's agile enough and therefore I'm going to score it a six I love The Styling I love the performance it gave me the vomit Comet experience and I'm giving it a rip roaring eight out of 10 I enjoy driving the car but I feel like it's still a compromised model without the fully electric platform so I'm going to give it a seven which delivers the BMW I4 M50 a respectable team test score of 20 9 out of 40 I see you watching some of our fifth gear EV online content and in that case you may be interested in this week's video sponsor the new hypervolt home 3 Pro charging system comes ready from the factory with solar integration ability meaning your charge Supply can be greener and cheaper so if you're looking to get the latest in British charging technology then head over to the hypervolt website at hypervolt doco or you can simply click on the link below today the team tested the Honda Civic e h the Honda Civic just another hatch right well no the Civic is like Volkswagen's Gulf a motoring Legend the first generation came out in 72 and since then over 27 million have been sold the 11th gen came out on its 50th birthday we're interested in its new Hybrid Power but should you be ladies and gentlemen this is the brand new Civic Honda eev it is their hybrid car oh what's the face it's not a Civic to me because it hasn't got the flicks in the wings it's not aive it's not sporty it's not aggressive it's not it doesn't look like a hatchback at all what's that on the back there this rear end do you know what the hot hyena look looks like ugly horrible things we got slopey bum do you know what I mean did you not see that yeah like Cur nothing at like Cur horrible horrible form of a hyena Jason compared it to a hyena of course he has many many hyenas in his backyard so he knows all about them yeah Jason's got a fetish for hyenas it kind of looks a bit like other cars on the road whereas before there was no mistaking a Civic was a Civic so in case you missed it looks have been written offers needing a bit more work never mind because Hondas are known for engineering and the Atkinson cycle 2 L with two licky Motors promises Splendid refinement and economy this is a 2 L hybrid 2 L hybrid it's got 181 horsepower turbocharge no there a four cylinder yeah but there's only two exhaust cylind it must be done for efficiency and space saving I want to show you the other end the hyena end because there is something interesting in here this ladies and gentlemen is a sideways moving parcel shelf why is that new I I know why is no one else I know I really like that how much weight could you no nothing it's just cover I think it's a lovely idea I'm with you it's very clever the cool parcel shelf cancels out the dull looks fantastic so this is the advanced spec top there are three trim levels so we're in the top notcho which means we get w w w wo did you say we're in the top spec yes why have we got plastic seats it's synthetic leather no it's plastic there's no leather in it leather comes from an animal look in this spec we get an electrically adjustable heated front seat heated steering wheel which is all good for me and panoramic sunroof which is good for you in the back it's a steering wheel in leather or plastic it's the synthetic leather plastic well I have plenty of room though do you know interior wise there's some really nice touches in there but there's some awful things as well so the nice touches I like the honeycomb on the dashboard I don't like the seats on I top spec car I want leather seats I don't want something leather I.E fake leather ey plastic okay plastic Jason isn't happy but he might like this car on the move the Honda is clever basically it's an EV but the petrol motor Powers the battery which Powers the two motors which Powers the car the petrol engine can cut in and drive the wheels at a constant speed but it's hard to tell when also Honda claims right team yeah here we are we are going to play a little game okay okay in a very short while I'm going to ask you to close your eyes what for what for because I want you to use your senses your other senses I don't want you're looking at the screen want you to tell me when you think it's in electric mode and when you think the engine is assisting I love a car game so I asked the team to use all their sensors apart from their eyes to work out when the car was in electric mode and when it was using the engine in hybrid mode because Honda thinks that this is a seamless change so we all closed our eyes and played a game of whether we could tell what modes it was in and Vicki would drive the car in certain modes right eyes are shot right go then so what do you think we're in now well you're coasting down a hill for starters curse you curse you and your extra sensory perception I'm going to say hybrid right now yeah well I don't well it's a bit of everything isn't it well it's hard to tell a you're on EV eeve for me hybrid I'm going hybrid he yeah what is it I'm on hybrid oh hang on a minute Mr Plato oh this is an easy game well I detecting we were going down here you one to me who's the one who's just lost and there's more not as it seems trickery the Honda Civic does not have a gearbox there's a virtual box the itvt which fakes gear changes using extra cabin sound and break regen which give it the feel of rising revs in sport mode or wowers but does it actually work bit of air oh yeah does work yeah yeah you can hear that s yeah it sounds quite it feel it sounds reasonably real more real than many other car yeah sounds Hond how does it feel behind a Willie yeah is right it actually does does feel like I've got a Honda chassis underneath me I always think that Hondas make decent handling cars oh yeah absolutely so that is a a tick I mean it hasn't got enough grunt obviously only being two two liter normally aspirated with a with a tiny electric engine in there to back it up I can't wait for the the the Civic type are really can't look at how the miles per gallon is is dropping rapidly seems like you got a bit bit of understeer yeah that's right we're not built for economy are we no hey this non-plug-in hybrid can beat 50 MPG with gentle use that's as good as a diesel do you know what I don't think I like the idea of non-plug-in hybrids because why uh because it just feels a bit pointless yeah I like the idea of a plugin hybrid and then you will get a clear for example 30 to mil of electric range and you got a special electric button of course I understand all the benefits of it being a traditional hybrid you don't have to plug it in anywhere but I kind of missed the fact that it can run on say 30 mil of electric power all in one go for me this kind of hybrid car is a bit old-fashioned I suppose it works for City driving but to get the maximum amount of efficiency you're better off with a plugin this might be beneficial for people who don't have access to home charging or might find it hard to find a public charger so there's that benefit that you haven't got to plug it in so we've got good kit a good chassis good economy and smart Tech can the Civic shrug off those hyena comments though and deliver a more friendly conclusion I am enjoying myself seems like it's definitely it's able and it's agile and you know it's quick enough so the Honda Civic it looks very much different to all the other ones but it still lives up to its Civic name it's well built it's decent to drive I think it's an improvement from the last generation and I can't wait to have a go in the typar so for that reason I'm going to give it a seven I quite like the look of this car overall it's got Sleek swoopy lines but for me I would have preferred it even more for it to look sportier and more aggressive so I'm really intrigued to see what the typar version would look like but this one I'm going to give it a seven I like it I found it enjoyable for what it is I am going to give it a score of 7.5 it simply can't be any more than a seven but I reom when the ti bar comes along that will probably look like a nine not too shabby then the Honda Civic is all right it may be a slowburn design to tempt you in but once it does it's got the power to win you over but we still can't wait for the typo today we tested the mercedesbenz c300e this is a plug-in hybrid so shorter trips can be completed on electric power alone we have the AMG line specification which is the cheapest model in the range it costs 46,000 £310 it is a hybrid car and it can do between 65 and 7 m on electric power load which means this car is one of the best plug-in hybrids around when it comes to EV only range which I think is pretty good and could be The Sweet Spot that most people need without even touching the 2 L petrol engine how long to charge between 30 minutes and 3 hours depending on what you're charger is which is pretty good pretty imp I'm just going to say this off the bat I'm quite keen on this stylistically yeah I mean these wheels don't they're tickling my fancy that's too that's too much there that's too big I like I like that cuz it's a little bit different no me neither no you don't like it I like clean spokes I like it even more now those Wheels they're going to be a definite point of controversy but I like them tell me you don't like these though do you I don't like those real lights just look a bit strange to me the way they kind of I will agree with you on that so there's a pet engine an electric motor and a battery and combined that gives you 333 horsepower I think that's AMG like a coupe type look I think that this is like it's a bit slsy isn't it I think the front of the car is really aggressive and looks mean actually so I think the styling is good there right while I'm going in I'm in the back you're in the back son once you get in it feels like a m it's quality it's comfortable I like this shape that they've got here because they've added a bit of texture some different materials it's a really good looking cockpit area yeah this double decker system is quite unusual so what's the Merc like when it's underway not to 62 anyone I know this y 6.1 seconds 6.1 seconds oh yeah that's not bad 155 mph top whack how are we finding the r it's sporty enough to take my box very acceptable in the rear yeah and it's not too noisy in the rear either Rog noise who said that huh pardon hey what what you forget he's there it's quite Pleasant it's a good bit of Kit which to be fair it needs to be cuz that's the best part of 50 Grand to put that in context £50,000 would buy Tesla's bestselling model 3 with 270 mil of pure EV range I have got one thing left okay and we need to head to a track for this m claims the c300e can drive 60 to 70 M on EV only this figure is based on an official test called the worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure or wltp for short however that's conducted in lab conditions on a rolling road so we've come up with our own test that we think is far closer to real world driving the question is with EV mode selected will the car match the official range Jimmy was our nominated real world driver now in here yeah are some real world tests which I'm going to now no no no no no I want to buy the test announcer yes and I'm stopwatch Queen let's get a show on the road 3 2 1 here we go accelerator 30 and hold for 60 seconds oh I'm going too fast I'm way too fast I'm off I'm off I'm breaking going through the chicane and 30 30 you dropped I know I dropped the Press on 28 5 4 what stop yes please emergency stop Jason and I were thoroughly thoroughly entertained accelerate to 60 M hour as fast as possible now now go then what happens I don't know oh no 45 50 55 60 avoid Hedgehog okay avoided the Hedgehog pull over to that emergency vehicle pass oh there it goes accelerate to 50 m hour and hold for 60 seconds shut up that's what it says now you can do this at 50 I know you can come on come on come on are you come on come on come on yes nicely played 5 4 3 2 one now what stop and perform a three-point turn oh right reverse my mouth dried up has it yeah my mouth's dried up accelerator 40 mph and weave from side to side right for 40 yeah and it's a gentle we gentle we okay got to do that for for 60 I'm on it I might be sick yeah three two one fet there he is the little brighter h on got to be honest from my point of view I think that went quite well in the real World we've done almost four miles however the car's computer was telling us that we'd used nine mil of range no way really the real world test was to see how far the Mercedes would actually go on battery only it states around 65 to 70 mil with me behind the wheel we have that that's interesting though isn't it I wonder how much that feret cost maneuver that was a couple of miles there I reckon yeah in my you know 30 years on the road in real world situations I've never come across a fet so maybe that test is a little bit unfair okay so our test wasn't quite as scientific as the official wltp and nowhere near as long but it was probably a reasonable reflection of how people actually drive so what would we score the Mercedes C300 E I really want to give it a high score because I love the fact that it can can do between 65 and 70 mil on electric power alone but in our real world test it didn't achieve that so I'm going to have to downgrade it a little bit I'm going to give it a 7.5 but from the boy perspective it seems the merc's other attributes outweigh the range issue overall I thought this Mercedes was a top-notch bit of engineering with a great set of figures surrounding it so I'm giving it a wafting nine out of 10 it's a big thumbs up for me I like it apart from the rear and on that basis I'm going to give it a great score I'm going to give it eight which gives the Mercedes c300e an impressive team test score of 24.5 out of 30 so this week the team tested the new Volkswagen id5 the id5 is vw's big brother to the popular ID3 and four it's a 5-seater SUV starting at £49,000 but ours is the max spec which is 7 Grand more VW is really gunning for that prized Tesla territory and the I5 has a claimed range of 33 miles should you choose this car over a model Y what comes after three and four now that's what it is it's the VW id5 their EV it's a bit like a four to here really a bit and then it's it's exactly the same it's exactly the same up to here it's absolutely identical to the and then it's got one of these slopy back Coupe Styles what do we think do you like it well this is their electric SUV and I don't think it is the most stylish thing I have ever seen I just think it's clunky that's quite strong wow that is strong these door they're so deep they're so high I that's almost sort of chest height for me that's big think from side it might be a bit claustrophobic speaking of doors though quite like these flush door handles I know it's not much but it's kind of cool you're right it's not much Sid e easy pleas look at it but look at the door handles it's cool it I was never a fan of the id4 is too boxy but I do actually prefer the back end of the id5 I like that swooping nness it looked a bit more sporty like show back let's have a look you know what I don't think any of us particularly like the looks of the car now this is a bit weird this is good they've got a nice nice net thing what's that for well you can put stuff under it and it's got a zip you could put Jason in it imagine that it's just for stuff yeah stuff that moves around your milk get in the car all right get in the car all right come on we've got driving to do who ordered the brown no I like it I love Brown when when it's done nicely this just a little strip there strip there do you not like that there's too much going on I'm this is funny this is interesting this because I don't find that offensive at all now see the interior it's got this brown and black two-tone I didn't find that that bad actually I quite liked it in a way but the girls hated it which I don't understand because for me that was probably one of the nicest things about the car me and Jason were team Brown interior two-tone can we have some airon on D cuz it's Jolly hot well that comes to a problem when you put the airut on because there are no knobs this has the same sort of style like all the new vws have like the girl ID3 and and the biggest pain is the fact that you know that panel doesn't illuminate at night for the temperature control so you lit it's a major distraction this one here so you're driving around and you want a bit more volume and you're like what am I pressing what am I sliding big sunroof that's nice yeah can you close the blind halfway I don't know how to do it it's up there it's touch as well by the way you got stroke it that's touch are you ready don't go too far cuz I'm going to tell you oh stop I'm done um in the back I'm I'm doing okay but I'm 5 five and a half yeah I'm over six foot I've got head room my head's you really over six foot I am I'm six foot exactly no I'm I'm taller than you that's only cuz you wear heels anyway mov moving on ready ready ready go we go we how does it feel behind the wheels it's okay sing's nice when in in this sport mode got nice weight to it but it's not quick it wants to do everything for you I want to tell it what to do I want to tell it what motor wants I want to turn the traction control off I want to do me regen braking yeah do do you know what I mean yeah it's too clever for it own theyve tried to make everything so simple yeah but I think it's too simple now so although you haven't got buttons up front you have got an improved voice recognition system do you want to try this out here we go I've got a button Sumer can you turn the air conditioner up to maximum and call us down cuz we're roasting ID okay supposedly it's on Max now it understood what you just said oh my go surprisingly set air conditioning to warm me up sorry sorry what Now by and large I have an issue with Voice controlling cars because it just simply doesn't work and you know VW have made a claim that this works better than the rest again it simply doesn't we'd better edit this bit just in case I use a bad word I'm hot we know you are Plato sorry this is the minimum temperature oh but guess what it ain't cold enough Jason had a play around with the voice recognition he's not the world's most patient man and this tested his patience shut up everything inside the car does doesn't have any buttons I think the only buttons that exist on it is the window switches that's it it will be great to find something decent to say what about the range let's talk about the range we need some proper buttons or at least some illumination particularly when you're driving at night nearly 3 years down the line you'd think that VW would go you know what we need to put buttons back in this and they haven't and it's really frustrating the system is not intuitive no that's just moaning well do you know what we can only review the car as delivered and as tested and just remind me how much it is again remind me 505,000 for an id5 is everybody tired or is the id5 making us grumpy let's get the team sces so the id5 is a family car and it does have good statistics for that it has over 300 miles of range and it does have features that support a family and I do think Volkswagen's part is in the right place unfortunately it's not a particularly good car okay it's got a good claimed range but to use every day to live with I think it would just drive you absolutely mad I have to say with a heavy heart that I'm not impressed with this I am usually a VW fan I was hoping for more I was hoping for this car to Sparkle it doesn't I don't like the dashboard I don't like the infotainment I don't like the switch gear in there I do like the gear selected knob on the top of the main dashboard that's a nice touch but all those other things are just annoying oh I was going to give it a five for an id5 but I don't even think it deserves that so I'm going to give it a 4.5 have I done that the right way around no VW if you're listening please please please put buttons back in the car because that's the reason why it's getting getting a three overall I'm going to give the id5 which costs about £55,000 a five so the id5 is going to get a poor score it's going to get a four remember that car's over 50 Grand 162 out of 40 is a pretty poor score it certainly looks like VW can't make a great spec translate into a great car shame today the team tested a Ford Cougar full hybrid electric vehicle forever there's a good reason to be testing this it's Ford's crack at a mass Market SUV hybrid cleverly targeting those ready to take a step towards EV ownership but not go the whole hog you don't need a charger and it looks like a conventional car and at £36,000 it's competitively priced there's a petrol engine helped by an electric motor and energy is harvested during braking to top up the battery but you can't plug it in and you can't go far on electric power only the system is designed to deliver lower emissions and better economy than a petrol only car but does it hang together so just to get this really clear it's got a petrol engine Y which charges up like a generator a battery y it's a 1.1 KW battery so this is just a little bit of assistance that help the fuel economy I still don't understand how that works because you've got your petrol engine which is being a generator and driving this y an engine charging a battery we're just passing energy around but this is a really good absolute beginner step to anyone who's thinking about going down the electric route because you don't have to remember to plug this car in every time you bring at home so it's for those people that are lazy and also some people don't have the option of having a plug outside the house so can I just tell something I have got a bit of an issue with stood here yeah is is this you know that interior plastic which is really sort of scratchy never seen it on the outside yeah but don't you think that they are smart in putting the cheaper plastic outside where you don't really stand here and touch it I suppose you don't looks wise then quite a nice looking thing though is it yeah yeah yeah doesn't offend does it no it's just a nice looking car I think I referred to it is vanilla vanilla is okay Ain it vanilla ice cream we all like vanilla yeah it's not right Ripple I mean that's a proper ice cream yeah but you're going to have to pay extra though aren't you for your rasby Ripple here's the best one tut3 it's okay isn't it it's good yeah everything on the outside is as it should be anyway should we hop in and uh yes do let's what what's this for well do you want to try it heads up display that is a little bit Starship Enterprise isn't it yeah what I am impressed by is the space I mean it is capacious and I'm feeling really with the glass up there nice that's a nice word isn't it capacious capacious something that is just uh ruffling my feathers a little bit yeah is that same plastic that's on the roof there is the dash the same we we have got we've had a bit more money spent up here and you can recline your back seat as well you got to be careful when testing a new car because sometimes a booby trap can be found so what what I do this so there's a what's happened there he's a plunker sometimes than me so I can recline this that's quite nice is can recline oh I like that so what we're doing we're going down to the beach are we family day out right up here you can now see what's happening each time I'm lifting off the car is regenerating yeah and and sending bit of juice back into the battery so that's when I lift off and when I break and then when I put my foot on the throttle then it's sending sending power to the front wheels so it's front wheeel drive only so the boy's earlier concern that the hybrid system is pointless is not justified because the car is storing energy that would otherwise be wasted and then uses it when you need it as you can see now it's constantly getting a little bit of a boost and also at really low speeds in town it can trickle along in electric power all of which results in a pretty respectable 48.7 MPG so we got 90 horsepower 190 horer yeah it's 2 and half Le you be more than that yeah you would you got to you got to be using that now for economy rather than out and out performance you not to 60 in about 9.1 seconds which is you know a little bit lethargic but then it is a big family car so this car is one of the better handling SUVs out there anyone for a slum test oh I'm not for that no definitely not Jimmy doesn't like any sort of fast driving he's quite prone to be billias right are you ready peeps not really Jason and I are trained drivers with trophies to show for it jimmy'd rather scoop ice cream than prizes that's a lot of cones that's a lot of cones and they look pretty close together don't that is a lot of cones let's try it shall we yeah oh oh one oh is it oh can you tell my traction you know what can you find a traction control button um know it's not a lot roll not a lot of roll can I say I had quite a bit of roll going on back here even though this is an SUV it also gives the driver a bit of entertainment who else wants to go come on Jimmy you and me swap my love come on oh no come on now I've got two racing drivers and me brace yourself for some back seat driving brace brace you're not funny you're not funny there we go that's all right see a little bit more fluid keep it steady on the throttle steady on the throttle I mean I suppose we probably weren't meant to hit the odd cone but you know I'm getting this in one ear that in another here my Palms are sweating things are going to get clipped aren't they that's it go on go on it's it nice and smooth that's it I'm sticking my tongue out did you not have your tongue out full concentration but that was a bit more real world wasn't it yeah it was definitely more real world have you driven before have you got a license aside from Jimmy's driving we all thought the cougar could maneuver as you might expect with Ford but is it really a car for all seasons and do we care that it's not a plugin so yes scores um Jimmy's driving a warm but the car I'm going to give it a great score because I think it's just a mega bit of kit it's a big nine it's a great family car and because of that I'm giving it a magnificent 7 out of 10 my impression of the cougar for was very good in fact so good I'm going to give the car an eight a strong team test score of 24 out of 30 and it is a great recipe for those EV nervous drivers today the team tested the scoda superb IV estate the scoda superb let's face it isn't a poster car it's not even an SU V very untrendy practical families love them but will they love it with plug-in hybrid power are we looking at the Pinnacle of value or a bit of a yarn twice a start at 38 Grand we've got the top spec which is 46 you get almost 40 Mi on electric power only and then a 1.4 L petrol turbo kicks in I think for value for money the scod are superb over the last few years whenever they is it superb they are superb I mean How brave have a to call their car superb and then they've got to live up to it hey I'm a little bit underwhelmed it looks like every other scod state I've ever seen where's the progression I think it is a really stylish bit of Kit my mom had a scoda Octavia doesn't look you think that's an old Trope I think they're so much better now but Jimmy wasn't finished yet can I just point something out what what is this here it looks like a bird has had a bit of an accident on the side a nasty badge isn't it that squiggly signature it doesn't feel like it should be on a car that feels like that should be on some sort of violin or OBO this represents the two people who started a car and a motor bike company before scoda took it over so this is their nod to the path I mean I'm not saying it's not a nice looking car I think it is and you know what I think it is just an age thing I like an state car now I've gone 10 years now Estates 10 years as of this year just Estates love them and with kids now it's just open the boot whatever you want it in you need luggage space for bikes and kids stuff like that I'm going to give you luggage space because in here is a very impressive amount of space and it was large you could almost lie straight yeah oh do you know what so yeah you know karon took it upon himself to to display the size of the boot well actually not the right s person he's only a we little lad isn't he let's open him up that had an ice scraper integrated somewhere in their booths oh there's a no there is I tell you what there is no we've got an umbrella in the door um in the door umbrella in the door I love an umbrella in the door is it there it's got to be it's got to be it's got to be no let's try this one I'm trying to find the ice scraper somebody's nicked out umbrella I'm me I've got the umbrella that's great oh it's tiny boys Feast yourselves on the back seat oh my God Jesus that is huge isn't it the leg room in in the rear is insane it's like a limo the package inside this car is starting to look way more impressive than what I considered was going on on the outside of the car however the boys felt our Lauren and Clement version didn't quite deserve the price hike over the entry level option I'm still getting a standard feel and this is me to be nicer I see where you're coming from for the the extra 8,000 but it doesn't feel extra special okay everyone should we strap in let's and off we go feel I like the steering I think it is pretty accurate I've got nice feedback I feel properly connected to this car and it's got a good amount of grip underneath what do you think the grip would be like over the jump p should we try yeah good idea Jim we don't look I've got lot of modes no oh need a little bit more speed no that was fine that was fine so after a day with the scoda superb would it get a score to match its name I think the scoda superb is one of the best value for money Estates out there so I'm going to give it an eight the scoda superb hybrid it's going to be a good score it's going to be a great score I'm giving it an eight the space absolutely blew me away but the styling just wasn't there so I give it a solid seven good things about the car are the handling the ride and then of course you've got all of that space inside so I'm going to give it a good solid eight which gives the scota superb an excellent score of 31 out of 40 today the team tested the Volvo C40 recharge the C40 is Volvo's first exclusively all electric car it looks like a coupe version of the xc40 a car we tested a couple of years ago and liked very much Volvos have such a strong brand recognition that during that test Jason made this the B claim I reckon you could do a blindfold test and sit in half a dozen cars and you know immediately you were in evolvo so I very gently guided him into four different cars to see if he could sus out which one was the Volvo right then poppet ready for car number one yes I'm as ready as I ever will be can I ask a question before we do this yeah yeah did you get dressed with that blindfold on this morning cuz really I think you've gone for great grandma's sh is that the best you can come up with right come on then so how many cars you got here four right oh what's that so this is the car but you're not you're was my tummy right like they do in all good police dramas I'm now going to protect your head I'm going to ask you where's where's the door so the door opening is here okay so if you can and I I have got your head but don't go in too quickly oh there we go you're in darling so this is car number one so just remember what your thoughts are on car number one one and we can uh ask you at the end oh what's that that's a knob you should be used this it's got knobs in the back ah interesting more than one right up so I'm I've got your head yes this is the open again I'm going to protect your head please if you wouldn't mind cuz you need all the brain cells that you can get oh it's very high in the back of here okay right so again just keep your thoughts on what car you think it might be I know I know what this is Jason thinks he's got it and he's only two cars in let's hope we can confuse him you really could work with the police really you're very good oh thank you four and old people son no that's not of all It Right Moving On okay you get right this is quite high as well it's this car's broken no this isn't theol so before we unmask you right like Batman yes what do you think the V is number one two three or four two two okay I really hate it when Jason's right but annoyingly his blindfold test that he claimed he could pass two years ago he did which was very irritating oh wow look at that good guess well done Jason Volvo always Stitch a little flag inside their side of their seats but also you can tell from the shape of the headrest and the little monkey got it on a tiny tiny tiny thing on with the test this is the C40 recharge twin and it costs nearly £62,000 and as the name suggests it has two Motors giving it four-wheel drive and here are some extra stats for you to enjoy Jason lovely to see your beautiful face it's nice to see you but I'm liking the look of this well exactly so this is Volvo's xc40 recharge it's fully electric it is a coupe SUV it packs a punch yes it's got twin Motors uh this is the twin the twin one it's a fully loaded twin motor one 408 horsepower not to 62 4.7 seconds so what do you think of it then peeps I like the look of it to be honest but then again I'm a big Volvo fan usually I'm not a fan of coup SUVs I think they look a bit bit vile but this one looks kind of pleasant let me reveal a nice bit of attention to detail where's your button under there yeah just a little look at this handle H H love it so that I can when I'm bringing you your Curry darling I can pop it neatly in there the other thing is the shape of this bootle compared to the xc40 yeah that's going to be a problem isn't it for height you're not you're not actually going to get much right how are things in the back then boys bit tight but leg room that's fine fine I will say looking at down there yeah don't like the fact I can see all the wires on for the um buttons on your seat they're all exposed so like you know when wir just taped up yeah what that's a bit po form no is B can I also point out one other thing please do curan if you were in the xc40 Victoria yes how would you start it I would start it with a button over there they've just put a cap on it about that's like it's fine but it's not I don't think I would pay what it costs if I had the Kia ev6 or the Hyundai You' You' get another person in the back seat more comfortably cuz you don't have the tunnel and up front as well it feels so much more spacious right then to the test track what' you reckon Victoria well I think it got quite a sort of traditional little hatchback feel to it I mean it's comfortable enough the right quality is okay in the back I wouldn't say it's I wouldn't say it's the most comfy seats I don't I don't feel like it's like a bench isn't it yeah is it exactly I was about to say I feel like I'm sitting on top of it not in it yeah I think after an hour you would feel a bit s be in mind this car does not 60 in 4.7 seconds why is it grab handles at the back a good coin especially for the two worst passengers on the planet yeah you've only got them on the doors and that's not really much grip is there just hold my hand on yes yes lucky I've got this here that's not my hand Vicki was uh driving along and for a change quite sensibly I have to say this does feel like a base model doesn't it although it's Grand it doesn't feel 60k it really doesn't if you told me this was the entry level 47 grand one you go okay maybe but it doesn't feel special enough to be 62,000 not for me I'm afraid team not for me yeah I agree let's get some scores and do some sums if I was in the market for a car like this I would also look at a Hyundai ionic 5 and that for me represents better value for money which is why I'm going to give this Volvo a six overall I think it's a nice looking car but it's less practical than the xc40 I don't think you get that much space for it so I'm going to give it a five overall as a package it's an absolute let down it should have been an8 out of 10 car but it's not and for that I'm going to give it a four just didn't capture our imagination it's a goodlooking car for sure I just don't I can't see 60 Grands wor of that value I really can't so I I can't give it a good score actually I'm going to give it a six which gives the Volvo C40 recharge trailer rather flat score of 21 out of 40 Volvo wants to set itself up as an EV Pioneer but this first attempt seems too expensive for what it delivers today the team tested the Audi A8 L prices for the 60 DFS Model start at 8 £ 6,000 but this long wheel-based version costs 90 for that you get a 340 horsepower petrol engine coupled to a 17.9 KW battery and motor which provides some EV only range and of course it's all-wheel drive righty hog gang the Audi A8 L for long it is a long car I've been in loads of these being chauffered around in they're Lush aren't they they're brilliant what do we think of this Grill I'll start by saying I'm not offended I don't love it but I'm not offended it's quite funky though isn't it it's like in your face it's it's it's a handsome Beast it's not bad but it just looks a bit old Manish first off I like A8 but as every generation goes on it looks a bit softer and this facelift version not quite feeling it well I think that the front is the jewel that pops out it glistens it shines it's a little bitow wow like a big diamond on a pretty basic band should we see what's underneath yes please I'll do the honors thank you it is unsurprisingly a V6 3 L engine turbocharge though OBS this version does have a bigger batteries which means Audi say you can do about 30 m in full electric mode you could probably bom on town getting to work in pure electric mode which is about half that of a Mercedes S-Class oh wow being an Audi they make possibly the best interiors out there of Any Car special oh man this is nice in here isn't it this is where this car comes into its own I mean how much legum have you got well can I come back Jason had the seat properly would have climed back well I'm over 6 foot and I've still got loads of room and look at look at Jason he's he's chilling let me just let me get in the full of ether mode there you go what's that like still fine the golden rule of a luxury limo is that you need to sort of fall asleep within 10 minutes and I did feel a bit drowsy so it's a thumbs up on that I need to see if you boys measure up look what Mommy's got yeah and um I've got 32 in of leg room do you need to know that oh it's massive there we go measuring the cook going in inches that's three Ines yes yeah good boy in the back as well well I've got 18 pneumatic cushions wow to help me to sleep yeah yeah yeah it's just a really lovely well engineered luxurious gin Palace uh excuse me news flash I press a button I am reclining oh yeah you're in reclin you going back even more yeah there we go I've reclined I'm quite enjoying the massage function you've got going on if you can can I have that yeah you can have this hang on this is for you wait wait should I set you up a there you are this this for me this is for you joh be call yes please the Audi also has four Zone climate control so everyone can chill at their own temperature should we go have a drive yes please let's go have a drive oh seat back's on this feels really nicely constructed and executed sturdy job back here sturdy that's a good expression yeah if if I think of the three big German manufacturers right you know Audi BMW Mercedes yeah in general I've always preferred the Audi's have you yeah the BMW's obviously things like the M3 and St they're great fun to play with they're the driver's cars yeah yeah as a daily family car I think the suspension feel of an Audi the steering feel the interface seat Comfort I've generally preferred it okay I think the right quality is really one the best in terms of what the German manufacturers have to offer I'd find it hard to disagree with that to be honest any Audi when you drive it hard they all under Ste like pigs they do they do I'm not saying they are the fun car of choice then you got to drive to have fun but once you get over that you get to a certain age right K's obviously there now yeah I'm well there you just want to get there in total wafty comfort or you could have the best of both worlds and you just buy Porsche yeah paname for a hyb which has the powertrain is it and how is that power Trin well we've got at the moment that's all right is it that's all right I mean it's a heavy car it's 2.3 tons but at the moment I'm in hybrid mode so I've still got a bit of power coming from that it's not pushing my head in the headrest like it's fine air it's 10 out of 10 for passenger Comfort but what would it score as a driver's car I would have scored this car a little bit more had it not been oh am I going too Punchy seven will I rush out and buy one H 7.5 oh it's lovely it's wafty it it massages your back and on that basis I'm going to give it an eight I'm going to give it a 7.5 that's a strong score for the A8 indeed showing the addition of hybrid power is adding value\n"
