Fixing the BMW
So, what's been going on with our trusty BMW? Well, we've had its fair share of problems recently. One of the most significant issues was the headlight, which kept malfunctioning. We discovered that this problem was related to the coolant issue we had last time. When trying to fill up the coolant, it didn't take into account the gravity, resulting in too little coolant entering the motor and causing overheating when idling. To fix this, we created a contraption that forced air into the system, essentially sucking out the air and compressing the hoses to create a vacuum inside. We then turned the valve and filled it up with coolant by letting it suck back in.
It took us two attempts to get it right, but it was worth it! The car is now fully operational, and we're relieved that the issue has been resolved. The total cost of fixing this problem? A whopping $150 for a new water pump part. It's been quite the adventure, but our trusty BMW is back in action.
Checking the Tires
As we take our trusty BMW out for another spin, we want to make sure everything is good to go. Our primary concern now is the condition of our tires. They're getting up there in age, and it's time to replace them with new ones. We've opted for a brand-new set of Pilot Cup TIR pilot sport cup tires, which are fairly expensive but will ensure safety on the road.
The Importance of Stopping at an Age
We recently came across an interesting article by Matt Farah discussing the Paul Walker accident and its aftermath. It highlights how old tires can be a significant hazard on the road, leading to accidents that might have been avoided if they were replaced or checked earlier. The moral of the story is clear: never underestimate the importance of checking your tires' age and condition.
The New YouTube Guidelines
And, as an added note, we'll be adhering to the new YouTube guidelines regarding certain topics. Let's just say some topics are off-limits from now on!
