Welcome to the Mercedes Stand at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show

It is well, and it's an utterly enormous stand that takes up an entire Hall to itself, over three different floors with a massive escalation. You get lost in here for hours. Anyway, the big news here is well, a good concept for a start behind me, the IAA Concept. The IAA Concept is all about active aerodynamics, and as you can see, various bits of this car go in and out to lengthen the shape and make it more streamlined, and the wheels go in and out. It's really quite nice. However, in the real world, there are a couple of other things we need to go and see.

Over on our left is the S63 Cabret with the V8 by Turbo, which puts out 577 brake horsepower and should make it suitably quick. The big thing about this car is that when you have the roof down, it's got a very sophisticated climate control system, complete with little fans in the back of the seats that all look quite cool. However, it's like probably being your own wind tunnel in the back. Imagine Jestro putting one of these around the circuit at Angle C - well, not one of these put the coupe version around the circuit at Angle C; lot big Smokey slides and I think this would look equally Preposterous doing that and might even be quite fun who knows? Anyway, something that we're probably a bit more interested in is the C63 Coupe.

The C63 Coupe is just over there, and it's well obvious it's a coupe body. You might think it's got the same 4 L hot V turbo V8 in it, which puts out identical figures to the S, so 53 brake horsepower, 56 for the torque. However, the car is crucially different. It's slightly quicker, with a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds, which is 10th up on the saloon and the estate. But it's also suspension that we're particularly interested in. The car has wider front and rear axles compared to the four-door cars, and it also goes wider with rear tires, up to 255 at the front and 285 at the rear. This is part of the reason why it actually gets to 60mph quicker than the saloon and the estate. They've also said they've completely redesigned the multi-link rear suspension compared to the four-door cars, so the end result is something that's apparently much closer to Spirit of a Black Series than we've seen before. It should be really, really good indeed.

This is the AMG Line by the way, in case you're wondering about this, which is to match the newly launched DTM car for next year. I rather might be yellow stripes; what do you think? Let us know on Facebook and Twitter: "Is it going to be able to take on the M4?" Sincerely, hope so
