**A Day at the Track with the Speed Victory Guys**

We've kind of got to figure out how we can get in here and not have to wait in line with all these other cars, but some GTRs, lots of Hondas, and pretty interesting old-school rear-wheel drive stuff. So, it's still real early yet, so should be a good day. The weather's perfect, so yeah, we figure out a way to get in here, meet up with the guys, and prep the cars. Made it to the track; place is pulling up quick. Facility nothing like we brought back, like oh just a little bit of guy, it's going to get the the cars unloaded.

**Unloading the Cars**

Hearing fatigue yes, I'll get these cars unloaded, get them prepped, get them into tech and then the first qualifying class is 10:00 a.m. So, got a bit to do taking the outlook so ready to go, just need a little ice, I'm in the cooler, get up, light up, chick, reduced it will be lovely.

**First Qualifying Class**

First qualifying hello Jason, just chicken time, pressure and then he'll be rolling out, call this class up, we'll see what the line says, good that'll work, far down driving it back the top endless low. Now they do lunch at the trick down here, man, some of the speed picking crews friends and come to the trick just a good lunch for everyone, super nice. 795 at 2:07, nice fish dip, just act crazy, just down the end of the track on our way to get James.

**James's Car Prep**

Pretty clean paws first up, we'll get them towed back, check the data, get the car ready to go again. Okay, at least it isn't shake it given, and James just going over some data, supersoft on the 60-foot, 1.6 they they weren't using the clutch slipper at World Cup finals, put it back in for this event, so we're gonna make some adjustments. On somebody was a bit of a bobble on one of the shows to the trends then it go into gear like they were expecting so but a good first pass, the car was super stable, put everything yeah everything pretty well.

**Technical Issues**

So, state of play, the oil pump broke on Jason's car on that last pass, along with the transportation gear. Continue to run for quite a while with malicious that motor has done special today, Scott just over there like pulling out the bed transfer, so that that one gear put it out and put in a new one, just that that's ton and then with James's car was just trying to seven seven but they're still crazy slow 60-foot time. That was actually his final, there weren't many if any other outlawed cars here, and the guy that he was close to race didn't shock to the start line so he won his race again seven seven with the ones point six sixty is insane.

**The Outcome**

And something the car wouldn't have been able to do without the new trends so when they get that 60-foot back to its usual kind of mid one threes, that's about 0.6 0.7 off at the other end, so you do the math that's super quick. So didn't get the outcome that we wanted to see but still a fantastic day here at the track and most importantly just a fantastic day and time with the speed victory guy. So always a pleasure to be with super fun, super chill, and build super cool cars which are always great fun to work on and just be part of a team for a bit and of course race.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthe outlaw car dang hey guys get him here at speed science hey just in the car on the way to the airport flying out tonight from Oakland to LA for the Bakersfield round of face-off you're not familiar with and put face off it's a big one day drag racing car show car culture event there's about 40 of them a year throughout the states in various cities and the reason that I'm hitting over for this one is that speed factory are bringing down the outlaw drag civic from Seattle they've got the album's custom sequential transmission dial done they've got it figured out and they're going to be looking to set a new record this weekend of everything comes together and also an attendance as the ocean racin or wheel drive ek4 door which is also built in pre play speed factory and driven by Jason Ostrom and rumor has it that car has more power at this event more than I had at World Cup Finals hello to go restriction for them here so they've got it wound up and I'm looking to run a pretty cool number so I want to be there to see it I've bought a bunch of cool camera gear and so we're going to here cameras on and in the car be able to take footage from the start line and also use some access to the speed in three pets it's the footage of the guys working on the cars and chicken the chin up and all that kind of thing so be pretty cool heaven love the trip to the States before like this so yeah we'll figure it out along the way I think I'm visiting I'm visiting scum T in ProCare Novation syncretic transmission so visiting a few shops when I land in Friday before the vid the event so yeah hopefully we'll be able to do a little bit of a ticket or through them too so the next thing you'll see is probably me on a plane getting into treasure so made it on board ideas if you have to seize on flight you've been out of sixteen clear across the Pacific long ways to go looking forward to get her on the move which is a pretty empty flight which is nice so specie x3 plenty of space to spread out hey we've landed in LA got the rental car and just on my way to visit Brian from Pro car innovations PCI this amazing suspension component tree and arrow stuff and I'm gonna grab dinner with them pick up some parts or some customers true to form the traffic here in LA is dreadful we haven't even made it to the freeway yet and it's just jammed up everywhere so normally take a maybe like a half hour trip or 40-minute truck anyway we'll we'll fight our way through I got upgraded to a brand new Toyota 4runner which super flash so yeah we'll just keep cruising along and yeah eventually we'll get to like Brian and we might have a look at what he's got going on there in 2.7 kilometres morning guys Hey the traffic was so bad yesterday an hour later by the time I got out to PCI I ended up just meeting him straight at a restaurant took me two and a half hours to make it 60 case which is insane but anyway it's been a night in a hotel and now just got a few minutes strive to get up to group a Auto Sports which is the umbrella company for skunk to Graham's performance and craft work so I meet up with these guys every year and just hang out grab some lunch see anything new they've got going on and just been some time with my guys they're gonna go on a quick drive up to skunk 2 and have a look and see what we've got engineering arrived so it's come to Graham's performance and craft works all operate out of here and when I pulled up I saw that their race car tow rig and trailer are all set up and I've just had a little quick chat off-camera to my sales guy who met me and I arrived and the guys are taking taking the car out tomorrow so I might have to do a quick little change of plans and head to the track and get some footage they're just doing some last-minute prep it's a bit of it would be a real treat to see this thing go so suck myselfs guy here at Scott dr. Charles over there surfing the web I think that all he does oh sweet man and here's the machine itself so this used to be a full chassis car way back in the day when it was first racing was this the first one during the team's Charles the late right mid to late 90s and now it's got a few more tubes it's a long time ago now so obviously the k-series powerplant somewhere between 2.6 and 2.7 I'm sure dr. Charles of course races it so yeah these guys are going on a test and tune tomorrow in the local area and I had planned to head up to Bakersfield tonight to meet up for the food victory guys to get into town tonight but we might make a change of plains and head to the track for a couple of hours tomorrow and see this thing in action which is a bit of a rarity in the last few years but I know they're committed to getting it out on the track so yeah we'll see how we go and we're just going to do a little bit of a ticket or of a shop here so we've checked out the race car this is the skunk to showroom they've got some pretty cool exploded views of parts and engines some of the craftworks rotary row tricks play stuff there's a be serious road tricks kit it's pretty sweet again they've got the rocker cover spaced up and they've got the head see what they've done here they've cut the cut the head open so you can see the internal workings which is pretty cool scene with the intake manifold and they've just got a bunch of their parts on display huge trophy area from all of the drag racing back in the day some of their logo cats and unique in this is the ultra racing manifold with a spacer on display mode so yeah pretty neat little showing they don't do a lot of retail here obviously it's all online and through dealers but yeah nice to see some of their stuff on display here my man duck and I gonna go grab some lunch so yeah super cool day today it's been a few hours it's come to great time with the guys they're meeting up with Charles again seeing project video so that was super cool and then after there I head out and had dinner with David from syncretic transmissions they've got those guys have yeah transmission stuff locked down so nice kitchen with David and now I'm hitting Northwest up to Bakersfield for the night you can see man it's 10:00 to 8:00 at night and we're still just crawling and traffic la is just like traffic 24/7 it's pretty hard to get anywhere quick here so we'll I've got another about hour and a half to get to the hotel so I'm just gonna keep on pressing on and then the host room racing rig and most of the guys from speed factory are getting in early tomorrow morning I get up in the morning head up to the track spend the day tomorrow hanging out getting the cars ready in the event Sunday so well we'll keep driving we'll get some sleep and we'll catch in the morning morning guys so man jet LAG's always tough their second night so didn't get a ton of sleep checked out of the hotel and on the road this morning just on my way to Starbucks to grab some coffees for the guys who arrived overnight they'll be a little short on sleep this morning we'll get out to the track hopefully they'll let me in I'm sure there won't be a problem and we'll get our inching on some cars get them prepped I'm not sure if the outlaw Civic arrived late last night or if it's arriving this morning but for sure it arrived at some stage stay 30k north of Bakersfield Township so this is the push drone racing coach flipped Jason first of the event soon stays on the coach which is handy for accommodation and then chose the race car in the back pretty slick trailer you can see they Givaudan start getting to work on swapping that over me these guys think it's real funny to mock my accent jerk jerks even a lot of beat Oh oh well what manifold cracks all those endless runner guess we'll get the whole man pull-up and you find somebody gonna hit call Aaron out I always call him only the closest that we can get ahold of that signal so Jason and I just went on a little bit of a mission his manifold head crack and so you can see this fresh repair DSO we just had to drive it now to the middle of nowhere - yeah to get it fixed by a friend of a friend of a friend out here in LA so we've got back the guys are some other guys have arrived we go have a look at Aaron who's one of the employees at speed factory's been working away on first time out in the car which he is super pumped for should be cool and then another guy from Washington area customer of speed factory's got all-wheel drive ej coupe so they've just come down on the on the trailer driven straight through stop for some food but apart from that they've done a big mission so be fun to see that going tomorrow and the transporter with the outlaw car is due to arrive in about an hour or so and so when that arrives we'll check it up Ricky and James from speed factory do in a couple of hours they flew into LA so we'll say hi to them when they arrive - dang that was flying so I Lukas English and the English racing transporter which is coming in way down there has just pulled up yes will rolled in the outlaw car he's gonna pull up right next to Jason's rig these guys are staying at a hotel tonight so they're heading off cars are ready for tomorrow they've just got to go through tick and they'll be good to go still some work being done on Jason's car morning guys just arriving at the track after some pretty good sleep big lineup of cars already we need to try and get our way and we've got ice for the intercooler for the outlaw car and some other supplies and we do not want to be walking in with it so we've kind of got to figure out how we can get in here and not have to wait in line with all these other cars but some GTRs lots of Honda's and pretty interesting old-school rear-wheel drive stuff so and it's still real early yet so should be a good day the weather's perfect so yeah we figure out a way to get in here meet up with the guys and prep the cars made it to the track place is pulling up quick facility nothing like we brought back like oh just a little bit of guy it's going to get the the cars unloaded hearing fatigue yes I'll get these cars unloaded get them prepped get them into tech and then the first qualifying class is 10:00 a.m. so got a bit to do taking the outlook so ready to go just need a little ice I'm in the cooler get up light up chick reduced it will be lovely first qualifying hello Jason just chicken time pressure and then he'll be rolling out call this class up we'll see what the line say good that'll work far down driving it back the top endless low now they do lunch at the trick down here man some of the speed picking crews friends and come to the trick just a good lunch for everyone super nice 795 at 2:07 nice fish dip just act crazy just down the end of the track on our way to get James pretty clean paws first up we'll get them towed back check the data get the car ready to go again okay at least it isn't shake it given and James just going over some data supersoft on the 60-foot 1.6 they they weren't using the clutch slipper at World Cup finals put it back in for this event so we're gonna make some adjustments on somebody was a bit of a bobble on one of the shows to the trends then it go into gear like they were expecting so but a good first pass the car was super stable put everything yeah everything pretty well so y'all did for the next round hey so state of play the oil pump broke on Jason's car on that last pass along with the transportation gear continue to run for quite a while with malicious that motor has done special today Scott just over there like pulling out the bed transfer so that that one gear put it out and put in a new one just that that's ton and then with James's car was just trying to seven seven but they're still crazy slow 60-foot time that was actually his final there weren't many if any other outlawed cars here and the guy that he was close to race didn't shock to the start line so he won his race again seven seven with the ones point six sixty is insane and something the car wouldn't have been able to do without the new trends so when they get that 60-foot back to its usual kind of mid one threes that's about 0.6 0.7 off at the other end so you do the math that's super quick so didn't get the outcome that we wanted to see but still a fantastic day here at the track and most importantly just a fantastic day and time with the speed victory guy so always a pleasure to be with super fun super chill and build super cool cars which are always great fun to work on and just be part of a team for a bit and of course race so that's kind of us from the track today we'll we'll catch you on the way home and thanks for watching this trip
