My Thoughts - Xiaomi India Current State & What I Don't like

The Absurdity of Xiaomi's Warranty Policy: A Rant from a Tech Reviewer

Xiaomi service centers have been denying warranty claims to customers who don't carry the original box and manual of their devices. The absurd thing is that even if you have the original box, they deny warranty if you don't have the small pamphlet like manual that comes with every product. If you have the original invoice, but not the manual, you're also being denied warranty. This policy seems unfair and consumer-unfriendly.

The reviewer shared his personal experience where he had to deal with this issue. His sister-in-law used an old Redmi Note 4 phone and broke the screen. When she took it to a Xiaomi service center in Hyderabad for repair, they initially refused to work on it because the box wasn't there. Luckily, the reviewer was able to help her out by paying for the repairs himself. However, he's noticed that if the city has an official Xiaomi repair center, the service is actually good. But if the city doesn't have such a center, servicing is being done by third-party resellers who come out with silly excuses not to repair the product.

The reviewer is annoyed by this policy and feels that it's unacceptable. He believes that even in smartphones, you can just get the phone number without any issues, which should be sufficient for registration verification purposes. The excuse of needing a small pamphlet like manual just to get warranty seems ridiculous. He thinks that Xiaomi needs to change its policies to become more consumer-friendly and competitive with other brands like Samsung.

The reviewer also mentions that if you want to stay in the long term in India and become a leader, you have to take care of your consumers and provide good after-sales service. If not, just don't offer warranty and say so. He doesn't think that denying warranty based on such trivial reasons is justified. The review concludes by asking for feedback from Xiaomi officials, if any, and hoping to see some changes in their policies.

The reviewer's frustration with Xiaomi's warranty policy is understandable, given the absurdity of it all. It's disconcerting to know that a company as popular as Xiaomi can have such a consumer-unfriendly policy. The reviewer's experience highlights the importance of after-sales service and support for customers. By sharing his story, he hopes to raise awareness about this issue and encourage Xiaomi to make some changes.

The rise of smartphone manufacturers like Xiaomi has brought forth new challenges in terms of customer support and after-sales service. While Xiaomi may be competing with Samsung and other brands in terms of specs and price, its policies on warranty and servicing need a serious overhaul. The reviewer's rant serves as a warning to consumers about the importance of choosing a brand that truly cares about its customers.

In conclusion, Xiaomi's warranty policy is a cause for concern among tech reviewers and consumers alike. It's essential for companies like Xiaomi to prioritize customer satisfaction and provide good after-sales service. By sharing his experience, the reviewer hopes to bring attention to this issue and encourage Xiaomi to make some necessary changes.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and this is sort of a different kind of a video if you have been watching my videos and other tech reviewers we have been raving about Xiaomi and the products because they do provide a lot of products at a very competitive price point compared to other establishment of access and that's the reason recently last year Xiaomi in fact in terms of volumes of sales has exceeded Samsung India good because they are providing good value but there is also other part of the story and I also like some of the Xiaomi products for example just yesterday I reviewed the Xiaomi me body scale for rupees 2000 it's offering a lot but yes Xiaomi is offering us great products at a great price and that is the reason they have even surpass Samsung who would have thought in just about three orders they would have surpassed Samsung but again there is another part of the story that I've been getting a lot of emails from you guys and this is regarding the two problems I feel with Xiaomi and in the long run if they don't address this this can be a major issue with Xiaomi products and I would have to add a disclaimer in my reviews the thing is regarding flash sales and second thing is about the warranty of the products and they have some strange clauses that are sort of absurd let me talk about this first let's talk about the story of the flash sales I won't totally blame Shami about this they say that they have limited amount of units that's what they have to do the flash sales I feel flash sales they do it because that creates a height apart from yeah they might also have limited amount of units but again we all are sort of frustrated with the flash sales and I would say yes show me you're telling you have limited amount of units and so many people want the product that's why you do flash sales okay do that but again let's be a little bit transparent about the flash sales before the flash sales start why can't you just say X number of let's say units will be sold for example you're doing a flash sale of let's say redmi note 5 Pro can't you just publish beforehand we have in this flash sale let's say 25000 unit so at least a person who was trying to purchase that phone wasting time I have known several of my friends also cousins who have tried purchasing some of the Xiaomi smartphones for four or five times they take out time from their office and do that but they fail if only you can be transparent and these people know beforehand okay in this sale you are going to offer like 20,000 units 40,000 units 50,000 units I think so that would go towards transparency I hope you implement that second thing is that also there is a lot of black marketing going on with your products and many of these offline sellers are illegally just buying stuff from these flash sales and selling it offline at a higher price point for example the retail price might be 15,000 they be selling in the shop for 16,000 so I would say you can also restrict some of the users who have already purchased the same product to purchase it again I know many people can create fake profiles but at least if you do that some people who are just continuously buying these products and selling in the black market can be so again we would love to know your thoughts how can the Xiaomi solve this issue of black marketing that is going on by their flash sales would love to know your thoughts about that and I hope some of the solutions if the Xiaomi officials have watch this video taken to account the second biggest problem that I'm having with Xiaomi is the service after sales service of the products are not being getting a lot of emails from you guys and just recently been getting quite a few emails it's not just yesterday and yesterday I tweeted one tweet from one of the users who sent it and he had a me what'd he say 3c router and it had a problem he's from Calcutta if I recall here is a tweet actually you can see this read the street and the absurd thing is that Xiaomi service centers are denying warranty if you don't carry the original box of the package and even a small pamphlet like manual what Xiaomi devices have that though you might have the legal what do you say original invoice but they are just denying warranty based on the fact that you don't have the original box of the product or even some people who had the original box of the products they didn't have the small pamphlet that comes with every product and based on that they are sort of denying the warranty is this official what do you say stand by some Shamim if it is please change that come on man like I'm a tech review or I store a lot of things because the products need to go back and said but for a normal consumer for example this is the meat band manual that we have it doesn't have any technical information nothing important or a warranty certificate but many people got denied by warranty because they didn't store this when they went to claim the warranty so if you have absurd policies like this I don't know what is this this is like in a way you just don't want to service the product and you're just making silly excuses and if this is official what do you say case for you I feel you should be really transparent about this or change your silly policies like this because it looks like you just don't want to offer warranty and you guys are actually like making silly excuses another thing that I notice is that regarding the warranty again my sister-in-law actually uses the mean redmi note 4 and actually broke the screen of that she asked me and I told her like obviously this is user damage if this won't be covered in the warranty so you have to go to the me service center and get it repaired so luckily in Hyderabad we have exclusive me have what do you say repair center and she went there she paid the money and the phone quarter paid with the new screen and just about four days I was also surprised so what I've noticed is that if your city has official me repaired stores the service is actually good but I've heard horror stories from other users also where these official needs tours of the centers are not there and servicing is being done by some third parties resellers and a very rude and they actually come out with silly excuses not to repair your product so I would like to know from you Xiaomi officials what is this about having a I can understand that having box for what do you say I my registration verification of whatever but again even in a smartphone you can just get the hi mine number without any issues if a person has original what do you say in voice that should be sufficient for more and B and what is this excuse of even having silly pamphlets like this that you get in the box if you don't have that you guys will not give warranty I would like to know if this is fair or not well not to know your opinions about this because I frankly feel this is unacceptable so again I am annoyed by this policy if this is your legal policy show me India please change that and become consumer friendly because you guys are trying to compete with Samson you in your what do you say marketing material or whenever you're launching products you are comparing it Samsung and stuff yes Samsung phones don't provide that much value in terms of price to perform what he says specs and or whatever you guys are leading that's why you got the sales but in terms of sales and service please let's not even go about that Samsung is far far better and if you want to stay in the long term in India and become a leader you have to really take care of your consumers and also look at the after sale service otherwise just don't offer warranty and just say we don't give warranty but again don't give false information and try to fool users about warranty and and it's just denying warranty because they didn't store a simple pamphlet like this is this justified or not would love to know your opinions about the same and again if you have experience show me what is the service and a good or bad I share your experience in the youtube comment section below and hopefully somebody from Xiaomi what is this video and gives us feedback if I get official feedback or a response from Xiaomi officials I will add that in the description box or make it a sticky comment so guys that's it for now for this video I know it's sort of a rant but just wanted to let you guys know my opinion about this because if this policy is there in the future reviews I will have to actually give a disclaimer that in terms of warranty you have to be really really careful anyways guys that's it for now thanks for watching this is Ranch eat and I hope to see you in my next video take carehi there this is
