Book Haul: A Delightful Surprise from Publishers
I was thrilled to receive a surprise book haul from Publishers earlier this month, and I couldn't wait to dive into each and every one of them. As I opened the package and pulled out the books, my excitement grew, and I knew that this was going to be an amazing reading experience.
The first book in the haul was Nemesis by Brandon Reave (again), which left me completely perplexed. I had no idea what it was about, and despite checking various online platforms for information, I couldn't find anything conclusive. The cover didn't provide any hints, and I found myself scratching my head, trying to make sense of the title. It seems that Nemesis is a book with no clear summary or explanation, which left me wondering what I had gotten myself into. Despite my confusion, I'm willing to give it another try, hoping that the story will reveal itself as I read through it.
The next book in the haul was The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr (not Emily Bar). According to the publisher's note on the back cover, this is a story about a girl named Flora who remembers nothing else but her first kiss with someone named Drake. It seems that Flora has a rare condition that prevents her from forming new memories, and she's desperate to find Drake, whom she believes holds all the answers. I'm intrigued by the premise of the book, which sounds both fascinating and heartbreaking at the same time.
Lastly, Publishers sent me The Valiant by Leslie Livingston, which is described as "Female Gladiator" in various online platforms. From what I've heard, this book combines elements of romance and action with a strong female protagonist who's not afraid to fight for what she wants. I'm excited to dive into this one soon, as I've heard great things about it.
The two books from T Teen were unexpected surprises, arriving at my doorstep without any warning or notification. The first book, Secrets of a Reluctant Princess by Casey Griffith, appears to be set in Beverly Hills High School and revolves around Adriana, who's trying to navigate the treacherous world of high school politics while keeping secrets to protect her reputation. The story seems to focus on themes of image management, loyalty, and the difficulties of maintaining relationships under pressure.
The second book from T Teen is Off the Ice by Julie Cross. While I'm not a fan of the cover design (I just don't "get" it), the premise of the book seems promising. It appears that Claire, the protagonist, returns to her hometown in Juniper Falls and becomes embroiled in a complicated family business involving a hockey bar and ice cream shop. As she navigates this new world, she meets Tate, with whom she shares a mysterious connection. While I'm not sure what to make of it yet, the story seems cute and romantic, which might be just what I need for a change of pace.
Overall, I'm thrilled to have received these books from Publishers, which offer a diverse range of genres and themes. As I start reading each one, I'll be sure to share my thoughts and opinions with you, dear readers. If you've read any of these books before, please do let me know what your favorite parts were and whether or not you'd recommend them.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to share with you my February book haul like always there's a ton of books because there's no explanation you know you buy you receive some that's just how it goes so I did buy half of these I want to say and then the rest I got sent by Publishers via boxes and just Publishers in general so let's begin with the books that I actually bought this month I didn't buy too many I've only bought like five or six so proud of myself for that fact because last month I went a little bit overboard only bought five or six books and I think I got about maybe like seven or eight from Publishers which is a lot I usually don't get that much every single month from Publishers I just got a huge batch of books from one particular publisher so I just want to throw that disclaimer on there anyway without further Ado let's get on to my February book haul first book I bought I actually have already read I just needed to own it and that is big Little Lies by leam morari obviously you can see this is the TV show cover and I'm not usually a fan of you know TV and movie show covers but sometimes if they're out and then they're the cheapest that's what you just got to go with so as of filming I have seen the first episode the second episode hasn't aired yet but I did really enjoy the first episode and I do plan to maybe film an episode review each one or maybe I'll just do a wrap up of all four episodes so I don't even know how many episodes it's going to be a video for each episode or do you just want to wrap up like a wrap-up video when the show ends so please let me know if you're unfamiliar with big little lies it is a adult like mystery SL contemporary I suppose you could say three women um as you can see right here and they're all mothers and they all have children in kindergarten and it follows their lives Liv and the secrets behind their lives and it is a very very funny book but it's not a lot of deeper and darker things behind it there's a murder in the book you know right away off the bat there is but you don't know who died you don't know how they died you just know there's a there's a murder and you're trying to figure out but that's definitely in the backbone this more follows these three women's lives and the secrets that they're H that they're hiding like I said it's a great mixture of humor with Darkness I love this book it's one of my favorite books by Liam Marte so I highly recommend you read it if you are interested in the show because I do think the read is worth it it is quite long but and it does take a little bit of time to get into but once you're in it you will become addicted to it that is for sure the next book I bought is because everyone on book has been talking about it a lot and it sounds like a really amazing book and that is a list of cages by Robin R this cover is beautiful I love all the stars in it this is a very deep book it's about um these two boys that really knew each other very well Adam and Julian Julian is placed into Adam's um actual home when he's he's in foster care so Julian's in foster care then years later um Julian they become they become a very good friendship they form a very good Bond then Julian gets taken out of Adam's home by his uncle and he really never heard of him again when Adam is a senior in high school and the high school counselor has helped to track down this one elusive freshman and it turns out to be Julian they start reconnecting and Adam's learning that Julian may be hiding some things that he really shouldn't be hiding and his home life may be not what it seems so it's all about that I mean I'm sure you can pretty much guess what's going on just by the gist of the synopsis but it sounds like it's going to be very good friendship book a very good you know things that need to be talked about book so very very excited to read it because I have been hearing nothing but good things about this book so I'm excited to read it the next book I bought I have actually already reviewed which I would link right here and that is my not so perfect life by Sophie canella this is an adult chicklet novel and I loved it so I love Sophie canella she's my favorite chicklet author about a woman named Katie and Katie is trying to live the London life and she's not doing so well she has a crappy apartment she has a crappy commute she has a job that she wants to move up in but she really can't and then you know one day things are turning around she may be having a love interest she may actually be moving up in her job and then she gets fired out of all the out of the blue so she has to move home to Somerset and her father's farm and her father wants to open this glamping business so Katie helps run that and become successful the boss that fired Katie ends up staying in this glamping business only she has no clue who Katie is she completely forgot about her so it's all about that it's also about Katie really coming to terms with herself learning what she wants do in life you know who she wants to be this is definitely a good romance book but the romance takes the back burner where it focuses on her main character like I said I have a whole review on it go check it out I freaking loved it and I listen to it via audio and I loved it so much I had bu because sometimes it happens the next book I bought is London belongs to be my jacine Middleton I've also been hearing about this a lot as well I think this is a new Adult Book maybe or like a new adult chicklet I don't know too much about it with contemporaries I really don't need to know too much about it if it's got romance and spool stuff I'm so old usually but I do know it's about a girl named Alex who moves to London and she wants to go there because it has one of her favorite TV shows plays and fan girls Heroes so she believes London is where she belongs so that's all I need to know because I have a fascination with London I've always wanted to go there and this book will probably make me want to go there even more but I've heard really good things about it I'm excited to read it you know I always like keeping a few or like you know five or six contemporaries on my shelf and pull from in case I get in a reading slot because that is what really helps me get out of reading slump is picking up a contemporary so I like kind of save them up with my show but I'm excited to read this one because I've heard a lot of good things about it and the cover is so freaking adorable and the last book I bought this month is By Your Side by Casey West again I have a review of this one as well this is a contemporary book all about a girl and guy that get stuck in the library together and that's all I really need to know if you want to learn more check out my review I do not spoil anything I like this book I didn't love it I wanted to like it more but Casey West just writes really fun cute contemporaries and if you're looking for just just that like what I just said and you want something to fly through this book will definitely help you out with that you can definitely fly through this book and it will put a smile on your face it just wasn't my favorite Casey west book moving on to the book I got in my Al Crate Box this month if you want to see that unboxing again right here and that is caraval by Stephanie Garber let's just talk about the cover because it is freaking beautiful look how shiny and shimmery it is and on the back it even has like the caral ticket and the hard back has this teardrop I just lost my page cuz I'm reading this right now a teardrop on it even on the end Pages it's just very very beautiful it has a map in it I think of caraval yes there it is it shows you everything what's in caral it's just very very beautifully made I love when Publishers take the time with end pages and pages in between even has like little notes in it it just looks very very beautiful I haven't heard about this book on surprise CU it's been blowing up on book tube which is why I am reading it because that happens the book hype you got to get him sometimes and I definitely given it this is all about this car it comes once a year in a far away land and Scarlet has always wanted to go she lives in this very far away Island and she can never quite go to car Carville and finally one day she gets an invitation to go and her and her sister sneak off and go to it only when they get there her sister ta is actually kidnapped and by the ring Master Legend apparently this whole like week of Carval because it's a weekl long s focuses around her sister ta and whoever finds her first gets a prize which is a wish and it's just amazing and when you go to this Carnival you're not just going you're an active participant in it this whole book tells you not to get swept too far away because it's all just you know Carnival it's all like magic and stuff but I mean is it really I mean this girl sister got kidnapped you going to take that seriously I would for sure but I've heard really really good things about it so I cannot wait to read it I'm already reading it actually I'm only like on 10 pages in but like I'm want I'm reading so far but I'm excited to see what I think of it the next book Quirk book sent to me and that is garella by Ashley Posen look at this cover so adorable it's a very very heavy book too like look at the Hard back it's got like a a fan sign I forget exactly this the end pagers are really cute too look at this is it's adorable it's work is known for their well like well-made books like they're all very beautifully made they all put really a lot of detail into them so I really love it this is about um this geek girl she calls herself Ellie she goes to this cosplays contest and then she I think she meets this guy who's actually being who actually an actor and he's cast into her favorite like um TV show or something like that so he's trying to learn more things about it I don't know much about it I've just heard like this is a Cinderella with like a fan girl cosplay twist which sounds really really awesome I'm excited to read it it just sounds like it's going to be a cute adorable romance I mean like this is just it's adorable I mean look at this this thing's called the magic pumpkin how cute is that also sent me this really cute candle it says Once Upon a con like a book con or like a geek con if you will it smells like pumpkin straight up because of the magic pumpkin oh and it's not fall anymore it feels like spring right now I'm not complaining about that at all thank you so much to Cork because that is a beautiful book and I cannot wait to read it because it sounds so adorable the next book riveted lit sent to me and I was so excited when I got it it was a surprise I wasn't expecting it I they just squealed all the squeals and that is when dible met REI by Sonia Menan I probably butcher that I apologize this is a contemporary book and it's all about um Dipple and Rishi dipp's parents wants her to find the ideal Indian husband I think it's an AR aranged marriage and Rishi is a hopeless romantic I don't know too much about it I just know it's about these two people and I've heard it's really really adorable this is very anticipated and it is very anticipated for me I cannot wait to read it like I said I don't know too much about it and I don't want to know because it's contemporary I just want to kind of go into it and I hope it makes me smile and grin and all that stuff they also sent me a few other things they sent me like a really really cool setup like a heart-shaped box with candy I did a whole Instagram post on it but they sent me like a little Valentine's Day Happy Valentine's Day love just makes idiots of people but that's not always a bad thing I agree and gave me this little card XOXO I thought you were the loveliest Bookworm I ever saw in my life heart soaked and happy I mean those are just adorable thank you so much to Riv lit for this I cannot wait I plan I really I wanted to read it as soon as I opened it up but it doesn't come out to the very end of May so I'm going to read it in May because I I don't want to read it and not be able to review it for you guys and you be and like you know I don't want to review something and everyone would be like I need to get that book and I'm like just kidding sign out yet I want you to be able to like go get the book If you if it's out so I want to wait till it comes out to actually review it so it's hard but I'm going do it and I can't wait to read it though I'm so excited the next five books penguin sent to me they just sent to me in a huge box again I was not expecting it but they all sound pretty freaking awesome the first one is we are okay by Nina Lor this is a very very short one like I think this is less than 200 Pages if that it's like 220 pages so it's very like almost like a short short story if you will I don't know too much about it I know it's about um a girl named Marin who is like waiting in her room to meet somebody and they gets like a whole conversation honestly like I said it's very very short so I wouldn't be surprised that's all it is I've heard mixed reviews about it I do want to read it because it's short why not it could take you like a couple hours to read it and you'll be done but I'm interested in seeing what it's about it's a very very beautifully made book if you can see the end Pages they're beautiful but like I said I've heard mix reviews about it but I want to read it because I mean it's so short and I've heard really really amazing things about n Lor's writing so I want to check it out for sure the next book is city of Saints and thieves by Natalie C Anderson I don't know much about this one as well it says in the shadows of sangun City There lives a girl who does not exist it's about a girl that arrives in Kenya as she refugees from Conga is definitely is desperately searching for a better life so I think it's all about that I'm not sure and this oh my gosh this sounds like it's going to be okay this is no this I thought this was a contemporary it is not it says a fast T nail biting Thriller that is interesting I think it's about her mom her mom dies or something I don't know it sounds awesome I can't wait to read it the cover is really really cool if you can see it's like a woman's face Fork shadowed in there like hidden in there it's pretty awesome I haven't heard much about this as well I'm interested if you've heard about it let me know the next book they sent me is Nemesis by Brandon reache again I don't know much about this either I was trying to look exactly what was what it was about and it has nowhere like on anywhere what it's about like like I looked inside and I don't know what it's about at all it just says he killed me he killed me not he killed me I don't know I have no clue what it's about I'm sorry to tell you that there's no there's no information on it I would look it up on good reads but I'm filming this now I'm sorry I'm horrible I'm sorry the next book they sent to me is I don't know if this is a final cover who knows it says you always remember your first kiss Flora remembers nothing else and this is actually that's not what it's called by the way it's called the one memory of Flora banks by Emily bar this comes out in May so this on the back it just say this I'm going to read this 10 age I was when my brain changed eight how many years P how many years my passport is valid for six people out there looking for me on the ice four the age when I met my best friend but a note says I shouldn't contact her now two stones one is mine and one is DRS I'll find him wherever he is one memory is all I have the book you'll never forget so I think this is literally what it says about um Flora has a memory problem and she can't remember anything but I think when she kisses Drake I'm assuming she remembers that I think she's desperately trying to find Drake because she thinks that he holds all the answers this sounds pretty freaking amazing I'm intrigued by it and it sounds really interesting and the whole premise like you always remember your first kiss Flor remembers nothing else sounds really really intriguing and the last book penguin sent to me is the Valiant by llie by Leslie Livingston this is like female Gladiator pretty much that's all I'm going to tell you about it because that's all you really need to know I'm actually planning to read this very very soon because I've heard really good things about it and I'm excited to read it I think it's like female Gladiators mixed in with some romance and sounds pretty freaking awesome the last two books and T teen sent to me I wasn't expecting these either they just showed up on my doorstep not complaining at all the first book is the secrets of a reluctant princess by Casey Griffith I haven't heard of this one this is um this is a Beverly Hills High you have a right to be you have to be ruthless to survive it's about Adriana who wanted to be liked not a girl that wanted to be like but she is now in the spotlight and out of her geeky comfort zone she'll do whatever it takes to turn the rumor mill and her favor even if it means keeping secret so far it's working and it's about Kevin who shares her Love of All Things in her but isn't exactly the right people it's all about like keeping secrets and like trying to uphold like um images which you know is a very very tricky thing and not as great thing so I'm interested in that it sounds like it's just going to be a cute tabary to read honestly and the last book they sent to me is off the ice by Julie cross I'm not a fan of this cover monia but I don't know it's about a girl named Claire who is back in Juniper Falls that's a great I don't even love it and she she has her okay she takes care of a family business a hockey bar beside the ice cream and she meets Tate I guess something happened between them as they're talking or something I'm not sure I'm not sure it sounds really cute I'm me try it sounds romantic I mean if the cover doesn't scream romantic I don't know what does that was my February book haul those were all the books I received slash bought over the month and it's a good amount I'm not looking forward to putting them all on M shelves because we's space all the time looking forward to reading all of them and thank you so so much to all the Publishers that sent me these books highly appreciate it and I love that I has opportunity to receive marriage and Rishi is a hopeless romantic I don't know too much about it I just know it's about these two people and I've heard it's really really adorable this is very anticipated and it is very anticipated for me I cannot wait to read it like I said I don't know too much about it and I don't want to know because it's contemporary I just want to kind of go into it and I hope it makes me smile and grin and all that stuff they also sent me a few other things they sent me like a really really cool setup like a heart-shaped box with candy I did a whole Instagram post on it but they sent me like a little Valentine's Day Happy Valentine's Day love just makes idiots of people but that's not always a bad thing I agree and gave me this little card XOXO I thought you were the loveliest Bookworm I ever saw in my life heart soaked and happy I mean those are just adorable thank you so much to Riv lit for this I cannot wait I plan I really I wanted to read it as soon as I opened it up review something and everyone would be like I need to get that book and I'm like just kidding sign out yet I want you to be able to like go get the book If you if it's out so I want to wait till it comes out to actually review it so it's hard but I'm going do it and I can't wait to read it though I'm so excited the next five books penguin sent to me they just sent to me in a huge box again I was not expecting it but they all sound pretty freaking awesome the first one is we are okay by Nina Lor this is a very very short one like I think this is less than 200 Pages if that it's like 220 pages so it's very like almost like a short short story if you will I don't know too much about it I know it's about um a girl named Marin who is like waiting in her room to meet somebody and they gets like a whole conversation honestly like I said it's very very short so I wouldn't be surprised that's all it is I've heard mixed reviews about it I do want to read it because it's short why not it could take you like a couple hours to read it and you'll be done but I'm interested in seeing what it's about it's a very very beautifully made book if you can see the end Pages they're beautiful but like I said I've heard mix reviews about it but I want to read it because I mean it's so short and I've heard really really amazing things about n Lor's writing so I want to check it out for sure the next book is city of Saints and thieves by Natalie C Anderson I don't know much about this one as well it says in the shadows of sangun City There lives a girl who does not exist it's about a girl that arrives in Kenya as she refugees from Conga is definitely is desperately searching for a better life so I think it's all about that I'm not sure and this oh my gosh this sounds like it's going to be okay this is no this I thought this was a contemporary it is not it says a fast T nail biting Thriller that is interesting I think it's about her mom her mom dies or something I don't know it sounds awesome I can't wait to read it the cover is really really cool if you can see it's like a woman's face Fork shadowed in there like hidden in there it's pretty awesome I haven't heard much about this as well I'm interested if you've heard about it let me know the next book they sent me is Nemesis by Brandon reache again I don't know much about this either I was trying to look exactly what was what it was about and it has nowhere like on anywhere what it's about like like I looked inside and I don't know what it's about at all it just says he killed me he killed me not he killed me I don't know I have no clue what it's about I'm sorry to tell you that there's no there's no information on it I would look it up on good reads but I'm filming this now I'm sorry I'm horrible I'm sorry the next book they sent to me is I don't know if this is a final cover who knows it says you always remember your first kiss Flora remembers nothing else and this is actually that's not what it's called by the way it's called the one memory of Flora banks by Emily bar this comes out in May so this on the back it just say this I'm going to read this 10 age I was when my brain changed eight how many years P how many years my passport is valid for six people out there looking for me on the ice four the age when I met my best friend but a note says I shouldn't contact her now two stones one is mine and one is DRS I'll find him wherever he is one memory is all I have the book you'll never forget so I think this is literally what it says about um Flora has a memory problem and she can't remember anything but I think when she kisses Drake I'm assuming she remembers that I think she's desperately trying to find Drake because she thinks that he holds all the answers this sounds pretty freaking amazing I'm intrigued by it and it sounds really interesting and the whole premise like you always remember your first kiss Flor remembers nothing else sounds really really intriguing and the last book penguin sent to me is the Valiant by llie by Leslie Livingston this is like female Gladiator pretty much that's all I'm going to tell you about it because that's all you really need to know I'm actually planning to read this very very soon because I've heard really good things about it and I'm excited to read it I think it's like female Gladiators mixed in with some romance and sounds pretty freaking awesome the last two books and T teen sent to me I wasn't expecting these either they just showed up on my doorstep not complaining at all the first book is the secrets of a reluctant princess by Casey Griffith I haven't heard of this one this is um this is a Beverly Hills High you have a right to be you have to be ruthless to survive it's about Adriana who wanted to be liked not a girl that wanted to be like but she is now in the spotlight and out of her geeky comfort zone she'll do whatever it takes to turn the rumor mill and her favor even if it means keeping secret so far it's working and it's about Kevin who shares her Love of All Things in her but isn't exactly the right people it's all about like keeping secrets and like trying to uphold like um images which you know is a very very tricky thing and not as great thing so I'm interested in that it sounds like it's just going to be a cute tabary to read honestly and the last book they sent to me is off the ice by Julie cross I'm not a fan of this cover monia but I don't know it's about a girl named Claire who is back in Juniper Falls that's a great I don't even love it and she she has her okay she takes care of a family business a hockey bar beside the ice cream and she meets Tate I guess something happened between them as they're talking or something I'm not sure I'm not sure it sounds really cute I'm me try it sounds romantic I mean if the cover doesn't scream romantic I don't know what does that was my February book haul those were all the books I received slash bought over the month and it's a good amount I'm not looking forward to putting them all on M shelves because we's space all the time looking forward to reading all of them and thank you so so much to all the Publishers that sent
