Crashed my E36 ALREADY! (Full Speed Backies)
The Thrill of Drifting: A Day with E36 in the Dry
As I sat in the driver's seat, adjusting my gloves and taking a deep breath, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. Today was going to be a day of testing and pushing the limits of my trusty E36. The dry conditions were perfect for a day of drifting, and I was eager to get started.
First things first, I needed to make sure everything was in working order. I sent over the logs to Seamaster, ensuring that every system was functioning properly, including the cooling system. With a new drive shaft and some tweaks to bring it out of the compound, I felt confident that this car was going to be ready for anything. As I raised the front end of the car by about an inch, I knew that if I dropped it again, I wouldn't chip up my wheels like before. A little aggression under the rear would do wonders for traction.
With a final check of the gearing and a glance at the speedometer, I was ready to take her out for a spin. The first laps were smooth sailing, with only a slight hiccup in gearing that left me feeling a bit disoriented. As I transitioned between gears, I couldn't help but feel like I was almost wanting to go into first gear – it was a strange sensation. With the car cooling temps at 193 degrees, I knew I had to fine-tune my shifting technique.
I took a moment to adjust the duty cycle on the ECU, lowering it from 600 to 500 degrees, and noticed that it made a noticeable difference in engine temperature. The car seemed to stay cooler than before, and I was eager to see how this new adjustment would affect its performance.
As we prepared for the drift session, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. Phil had been waiting patiently by the car, ready to provide some support and guidance. With a few final checks and adjustments, we were finally ready to hit the track.
The first few laps were smooth and easy, with the car handling like a dream. But as I transitioned into second gear, I felt a slight hesitation, followed by a sudden loss of traction. The rear wheels had started to spin, and before I knew it, I was drifting sideways across the compound. It was exhilarating – and slightly disorienting.
As we continued to push the limits of the car, Phil provided some insightful commentary on my shifting technique. He noted that I was pushing too hard, and that I needed to find a better balance between power and finesse. With his words ringing in my ears, I took a deep breath and focused on the task at hand.
The rain began to pour down, threatening to dampen our drift session. But we were determined to continue, no matter what. As we made our way through the course, I couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with Phil – we were both in this together, pushing the limits of the car and testing its mettle.
As we finally called it a day, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Despite the challenges we faced, we had managed to squeeze out some incredible driving from this trusty E36. And as I climbed out of the driver's seat, exhausted but exhilarated, I knew that this was just the beginning of an exciting adventure – one that would take us to the limits of speed and skill.
A Little Side Note: Colette Was Getting Aggressive
As we continued to push the limits of the car, I couldn't help but notice the driving style of our colleague, Colette. She was getting a bit aggressive with her entries, taking some risks that left me feeling a bit nervous. But at the same time, I had to admire her confidence and skill – she was definitely one to watch.
The End: A Day of Drifting in the Dry
As we packed up our gear and said our goodbyes, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the experience. It had been a day of excitement and adrenaline-fueled driving, with plenty of twists and turns along the way. And as I looked over at Phil's camera and card, I knew that we would be able to review our progress and analyze our performance in full detail.
So if you're looking for some high-octane drifting action, make sure to check out Colette's video – it was definitely a wild ride. And who knows? Maybe next time we'll be able to get back out on the track and push the limits even further. Until then, stay tuned – we'll be back with more driving excitement soon!
