The Art of Planking: An Interview with Jenna and Justin Eeric
My name is Justin Eric, but online I'm also known as Justine for those who follow me on the internet. When it comes to planking, my name is actually Jenna, but on the internet, I'm better known as "Jenna e" because I want to stand out a bit more. As someone who's passionate about planking, I can confidently say that it's not really an art form – at least, not in the classical sense.
All you do when you plank is lie down, straighten your arms and legs, and... well, that's pretty much it! It's simple, yet strangely addictive. For those who are new to planking, let me explain what it's all about: you simply place yourself in a position where you're essentially "planking," which means you're using your body as an inverted plank shape – think of it like a human pancake. And yes, there is such a thing as the newspaper plank, where you lay down on top of a newspaper to create this perfect plank shape.
Planking has become super popular worldwide, and honestly, I'm not surprised. Who wouldn't want to be able to take a simple picture that shows off their body's unique shapes and proportions? For me, planking started as a way to express myself and have fun with my online presence. I began posting pictures of myself planking on my Facebook page, and – much to my surprise! – it sparked a friendly competition between me and another "planker" who wanted to outdo me.
This other person, who shall remain nameless (but maybe we'll reveal her identity in a future video), had some pretty impressive plank skills. We decided to have a fun little "planking off," where the first one to come up with an even better plank shape wins. And let me tell you – it got intense! The more we planked, the more creative we became. I'm proud to say that our friendly competition led to some amazing new skills and ideas.
However, planking isn't without its challenges. For instance, there's a lot of legal uncertainty surrounding it. Can you plank in someone else's yard? No, probably not. Can you plank on public property? Maybe, but check first! One thing I can confirm is that planking near or on top of a police car is NOT recommended.
Despite the challenges and potential pitfalls, planking has actually made me a better person. It's helped me develop my critical thinking skills – when do you know when to stop? Do you take risks too far? How do you stay focused? And most importantly, it's given me an amazing sense of community and connection with like-minded people.
But before I get into all that deep stuff, let me just say: this is not a serious interview. Okay, it kinda is! Jenna here has graciously agreed to sit down with me for a brief chat – mostly so I can ask her some silly questions about planking (just kidding, she's super cool and funny).

really friendly competition it's friendly did I mention that it was friendly we've been flanking all day and right now I'm kind of at a standstill at a plank blank a plank blank is when you just don't know what to Plank and that's me right now that's me right now a plank you know I think people plank cuz they're bored I think there's a lot of legal issues with planking like you probably can't plank in someone else's yard or plank on places that are not public property you can plank in front of a police car but planking on top of a police car you don't think that's that's recommended I can't really say if planking is legal or not it's such a new phenomenon that I don't really think rules have been made about planking yet I know I heard in one of the videos that it's not illegal but you can get cited for trespassing trespassing flanking has actually made me a better person it's made me able to think more clearly it's made me have more friends and overall I'm just generally a much
