505 HP All Motor G8! Pontiac G8 Review

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enspeak the truth but all I hear are mes cre in light running from the Shadows that was right are broken like my heart tonight so today ladies and gentlemen we are in a 2008 Pontiac G8 the G8 is one of those cars that it's kind of sad that it didn't last that long it only lasted around 2 years but it's kind of a hidden gym that people don't really realize when you're rolling down the road a lot of lot of people don't realize that it has an LS motor in it and at the time was the cheapest car for 400 horsepower out of the box but this Pontiac G8 is a little bit different different how you ask well this one is the second fastest all motor G8 in the world what makes this the fastest all motor G8 well it has a 6.2 bottom end it's a rick Crawford racing port and Polished heads which come from the LS3 it has an RCR ported intake manifold it's got a cold air intake math from the LS7 so it's kind of a Frankenstein LS car it has parts from kind of all these different ls's combined into one it's also got a cam and an ls9 drivetrain as well the car has complete BMR suspension there's not any stock suspension left on this car whatsoever it has a Camara rear end has Camaro wheels so it's kind of like every part of GM had a baby to create this amazing car now right now I'm cruising on the highway and right under 2,000 RPM you have a little bit of drone but as soon as you break like 2,000 RPM it's one of the quietest I guess you could say high horsepower cars I've ever driven now if you're curious what wheel horsepower it makes it makes 505 wheel horsepower and 590 ft-lb of torque so it gets out of the hole real quick it's also a 6.2 short block it has 345 gears in the back and along with that it has a stall it's a triple disc 2700 stall now the only thing about this G8 compared to say the GXP is that it doesn't have a manual transmission that is a big selling point for a lot of people especially in the car Community as you guys know but with that you still have a nice kind of sport option you can still shift different gears and do it manually but it's not like having a clutch when I got in the car I reached for the clutch because I'm so instinctual but so we're gonna start from like a 15 mph roll and Matt it it chirp tires at second in an auto that's so awesome not bad God it's so real driving a fast automatic car you just hold on and go along for the ride and you just like wow we're going fast but I could yeah just hang out and have a good time I like it and a lot of people call the manual transmission the mantr you know yo it's stupid if it's not a manual transmission but if your goal is to just get a solid consistent quarter mile time it's yeah automatic it might be even your best bet cuz it'll do almost the same thing every single time and you'll get the numbers that you want or the numbers that you expect now this belongs to a guy named Justin and comparing this to say L's GTO there are vast improvements the interior is I wouldn't say 100 times better but it's definitely better the materials feel a lot more expensive the seats are fan frantastic they're really comfortable I drove this car before doing the review for about 50 minutes and my back wasn't going out or anything like that and I could drive this thing all day without getting exhausted the main difference between this fastest all motor G8 and the fastest in the world which belongs to Rick Crawford is it has different heads different exhaust and Rick is about 200 lb lighter so that's where the main difference comes from but even with that this car ran a 1095 at 127 mph so it's definitely no slouch to say the least Rick Crawford's kind of an LS Legend and he also helped tune L's GTO that I reviewed previously and it's funny when people hear that it was tuned by Rick people just want to touch it and be like oh my God the legend has been around this it's a well-deserved reputation and out of the two Pontiacs or LS cars that I have driven the tunes have been spoton they feel completely smooth they don't feel like there's any hiccups no breaking up what have you all right so this is from about 50 you get up to speed so fast you don't even realize it you look down and it's it's one of those cars where you go whoops and as we go around this Bend it's definitely a straight line car the car is nto N5 which is a fantastic tire and I haven't spun once yet and I'm very impressed that's usually the combination of a great suspension setup and a great Tire setup I will tell you night and day though driving in sport mode and driving in the automatic mode is complete Polar Opposites driving on the way here I drove in all just the nor normal automatic mode and it seemed as though the transmission almost couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to do if I floored it if I floored it it was like wait do you want to save gas or you not want to save gas it was kind of in that weird limbo so what can it do from a dig well obviously it's going to be good but so I'm just going to Matt it and see what happens all right so I roasted them just a little bit it got a little bit swirly but once it hooked oh man it hooked and went I'm sure with some practice doing a dig is completely easy but it was completely controllable I was spinning I was roasting I could see the smoke but it's a blast man oh yeah to do is kind of just wait floor and see what happens all right all right Smiles for gallon I was smiling that entire time I did not need a manual transmission to smile with that one I might have laid down some new lines on the road that is by far other than like a Evo that is my favorite dig experience I've ever done with evos and stuff and Subarus when you do them from a dig the fun of it is the acceleration you get instantly and you just hook up and go but sometimes just roasting the tires a little bit is is part of the fun it's part of the I don't know not scare Factor but it's a little more thrilling that you know you're the you're the skill in the scenario the car doesn't do any work for you another good add-on to this car is a RCR port and polish throttle body and it makes just one of those kind of supporting mods that wakes everything else up it also has titanium intake valves and also sodium filled exhaust valves oh look David's slowing down why is David slowing down oh because he's going to floor it from a dead stop so foot on The Brak and let off woo it's definitely a quarter mile car that's for sure it's always good to be in a complete naturally aspirated big Power car you know boost the sensation of boost is fantastic it really is but when you have that instant ratification you don't have to wait for it you just do it there's no delay even with roots blowers that little bit of delay for it to build up and it's just so fun knowing you have all that power at disposal so fast and a great thing about all motor is that all motor is usually if it's built right it's almost 100% bulletproof especially in an LS car so there's really no complaints in this car I I know it's very hard for me to hate a car but especially this one it's done very well and like I I said before it's a shame it didn't last longer so with that guys I thank you all very much for watching this quick little review video I want to thank Justin so much for letting me come down and drive his car it was a great experience that I will never forget and I will see you guys next time take it easy like some animals urinate to Mark territory we left tire marks whoops so this is from a 30 roll drinking a book drink I said drinking a book drinking a cup of tea I couldn't talk but it's very very very easy to control I can totally see why consistent quarter mile times are very easy in this carspeak the truth
