it makes the mac experience and especially the mac laptop experience a whole lot better than what they could have achieved with intel processors they're a lot more quiet better on battery life and offer insane performance for the size of the chips inside and if you're looking to get the best deals on all of these products i'm going to mention in this video be sure to check the links in the because it allows them to optimize their machines to have the best battery life possible and the air is the best example of that apple claims up to 15 hours of web use and up to 18 hours of video playback and in a lot of cases those numbers are pretty spot on if you're not using a bunch of processor intensive applications at once you can expect the m1 air to pretty much last you all day and it'll do so with ease the air comes in at just 2.8 pounds and honestly it feels even lighter than that in my hands whenever putting the air in my backpack to go somewhere i can only just barely feel pros fan won't be audible at all and that's just because apple silicon is so well optimized for these machines there's effectively a 300 price gap between the base price of the 13 inch air and the 13 inch macbook pro but some would argue that you're not really getting 300 worth the extra laptop by going with the 13 inch pro over the air but if you feel like you need the touch bar the more reliable displays and all new liquid retina xdr displays using mini led technology so these laptops can get crazy bright compared to the previous macbook models these displays can get as bright as a thousand nits sustained or 1600 nits when watching hdr content so at its brightest point these displays can get four times as bright as the m1 macbook air these displays also utilize promotion which is apple's adaptive refresh rate technology which changes the display's frame rate based on whatever task you're doing and it can go all the way up to 120 hertz which has a super smooth look for things like scrolling through uis and gaming these displays are the best i've seen on a laptop thus far and if a fantastic display is what you're looking for the 14 or 16 inch pro is definitely the way to go but outside of the display one of the most impressive aspects of these laptops are their performance with these new macbook pros apple introduced two new processor options m1 pro and m1 max which offers substantially improved performance over the standard m1 chips found in the 13 inch air and 13 inch pro these processors come in in either an 8 core or 10 core configuration if you're on the 14 inch and just 10 core if you're on the 16 inch model where the customization gets deep is with the gpu core options with the 14 inch model you can select either a 14 16 24 or 32 core graphics card and with the 16 inch model you can select either a 16 24 or 32 core graphics card and each of these different specs will provide varying levels of performance but i honestly believe that the 16 core gpu option build quality in a mac laptop or all of these things combined if you feel as though you need the power of m1 pro or m1 max then there's no way i wouldn't recommend these laptops to you if you can afford them and because these are apple's latest offerings anyone who buys them this holiday season should at least have a solid six to eight months of their laptop being the latest model but regardless i think all four of these macbook models should cover the vast majority of users needs and at least one of these machines if not all of them will surely be a useful gift for a student or a
