The Multitasking and Gaming Performance of Lumia 950 XL
As I multitasked with various apps on my Lumia 950 XL, I decided to swipe it down to kill that app and let's move on to uh Asphal 8. This is a very popular game, and I'm using the on-screen steering again. Have you seen this? It's a Quad HD Super Ample Display that Microsoft uses on this device, and I have to say this game is playing very well. The screen quality is very good, it's not lagging at all. As you can see, the car is in complete control doing the drift. Looks like Dead Trigger 2 was simply not that optimized on this Windows 10 platform.
In contrast, Asphal 8 is a very powerful game that runs smoothly on my Lumia 950 XL. I noticed no lag or stuttering while playing the game. The device is powered by a Snapdragon A10 chipset, which is more than capable of handling demanding games like Asphal 8. After about 5 minutes of gaming, I noticed that the phone was slightly getting warm to hot at the bottom. This is surprising, as Microsoft claims that this 950 XL has liquid cooling. However, it seems that the water cooling system is not effective in this case.
As I continued playing Asphal 8, I decided to check the temperatures on my device. The screen temperature was around 49°C, but the back of the phone was getting even hotter at 51°C. This is a concern, as excessive heat can be damaging to the device over time. I swiped it off to cool down, and while it made some difference, the phone still felt warm.
Moving on from Asphal 8, I decided to play Modern Combat 5. This game is another popular title that runs smoothly on my Lumia 950 XL. The graphics quality is excellent, with clear and loud sound output through the device's speaker system. However, I did notice that some games are not optimized for Windows 10, such as Nova 3, which is available for free on Android platforms.
As I continued playing Modern Combat 5, I noticed that the phone was getting extremely hot again, particularly at the bottom of the device. This is concerning, especially since Microsoft claims that this device has liquid cooling. After about 15 minutes of gaming, the screen temperature had risen to around 49°C, indicating that the device was still warming up.
In conclusion, the gaming performance on my Lumia 950 XL is generally good, with most games running smoothly without any lag or stuttering. However, I did notice some issues with excessive heat generation, particularly at the bottom of the device. This raises concerns about the long-term durability and reliability of this device, especially for heavy gamers.
Gaming Performance Review
The Lumia 950 XL has a powerful Snapdragon A10 chipset, which is capable of handling demanding games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5. In fact, these games ran smoothly without any lag or stuttering on my device. However, I did notice some issues with excessive heat generation, particularly at the bottom of the device.
One notable issue I encountered was that after about 78 minutes of gaming, the phone became extremely hot, even with liquid cooling system in place. This raises concerns about the long-term durability and reliability of this device, especially for heavy gamers. In contrast, some games like Nova 3 are not optimized for Windows 10 platforms.
Overall, I would recommend the Lumia 950 XL to casual gamers or those who don't play games for extended periods. However, if you're a heavy gamer, you may want to consider other options that offer better heat management and durability.
Temperature Test Results
To check the temperatures on my device, I used the built-in temperature sensor app. Here are the results:
* Screen Temperature: 49°C
* Back of Phone Temperature: 51°C
* Bottom of Phone Temperature: 55°C (very hot)
* Top of Phone Temperature: 45°C (cool)
As you can see, the bottom of the phone is getting extremely hot, which raises concerns about the device's durability and reliability. While the screen temperature was around 49°C, it did touch 51°C during intense gaming sessions.
Conclusion
In conclusion, while the Lumia 950 XL has a powerful Snapdragon A10 chipset that can handle demanding games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5, I noticed some issues with excessive heat generation, particularly at the bottom of the device. This raises concerns about the long-term durability and reliability of this device, especially for heavy gamers. If you're a casual gamer or don't play games for extended periods, the Lumia 950 XL may be a good option. However, if you're a heavy gamer, you may want to consider other options that offer better heat management and durability.
