POCKET LETTER Tutorial _ Valentine's Day Theme 2016

The Art of Creating Pocket Letters: A Step-by-Step Guide

As a lover of stickers, paper crafts, and creative expression, I am thrilled to share with you my latest project - creating pocket letters. A pocket letter is a special gift that contains a series of small items, such as stickers, washi tape, and other embellishments, all carefully curated and presented in a personalized envelope. In this article, we will dive into the world of pocket letters and explore how to create your own beautiful and unique designs.

My Favorite Dollar Tree Stickers

I am absolutely obsessed with my favorite sticker - the dollar tree foam heart sticker. I know it sounds silly, but there's just something about these stickers that makes me happy. I've been using them for years, and I never get tired of them. In fact, I'm planning to use some of these same stickers to create a special pocket letter for my friend Mindy.

Choosing the Right Stickers

When it comes to choosing stickers, I like to stick with what I know and love. There's something about the simplicity and charm of these foam hearts that makes them perfect for my pocket letters. Of course, there are many other options available, but I just can't get enough of these little cuties.

Preparing the Pocket

Before we begin decorating, let's take a look at the pocket itself. My pocket is made from a small envelope, which I've decorated with some washi tape and stickers. I like to keep my pockets simple, so I usually stick to one or two colors that complement each other nicely.

Adding Decorations

Now it's time to add our decorations! For this pocket letter, I'm using the dollar tree foam heart sticker as the main attraction. I'll be adding some pink hearts, jewels, and gems to give it a bit of sparkle. I also have a few washi tape strips that I'll use to create some visual interest.

The Big Reveal

Okay, it's time to reveal our finished pocket letter! As you can see, I've added all sorts of fun embellishments to make this pocket letter truly special. From the dollar tree foam heart sticker to the layered gift tag from Target's dollar spot, every item has been carefully chosen to complement each other.

The Finishing Touches

Before we seal up our pocket letter and send it off, let's add a few final touches. I'll be adding some Pink Washi tape to spell out the word "Washi" on one of the pockets, and I might even add a flag or two to give it an extra bit of flair.

Sealing Up the Pocket

Now that our pocket letter is complete, it's time to seal it up! I'll use some double-sided tape to attach a small sticker to the back of the envelope, which will serve as a closure. It may not be the most secure way to close the envelope, but it adds a bit of whimsy and personality to the overall design.

The Final Product

And that's it! Our finished pocket letter is complete. I hope Mindy loves it just as much as I do. Pocket letters are all about sharing love and joy through small gestures, and I'm so excited to share this one with my friend.

Tips and Tricks

One of the best things about creating pocket letters is experimenting with different materials and techniques. Here are a few tips and tricks that might be helpful:

* Use the foamy sticker adhesive to make items pop up - it makes them look amazing!

* Experiment with different colors and combinations - you never know what will work until you try!

* Don't be afraid to add your own personal touches - after all, this is a pocket letter from you to Mindy!

Conclusion

Creating pocket letters is an art form that's full of possibilities and creative expression. Whether you're a seasoned crafty person or just starting out, there's something for everyone in this world. By following these steps and experimenting with different materials and techniques, you can create your own unique and beautiful pocket letter designs. Happy crafting!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: entoday I'm going to take you through pocket letter making I am so excited to share this with you guys I have one video where I just walked through a pocket letter I already made on my channel and then the there's a second video where I believe I actually show a tutorial on how I put that second pocket letter together so this is going to be the same thing it's going to be a tutorial I'm just going to put one together my theme for this one is obv viously a Valentine's Day and for those of you that do not know what pocket letters are because I get this question quite often so that's why I'm answering some of these questions so before you comment just please be mindful that the reason why I do or say certain things is because it's been requested from other people now a pocket letter is kind of like having a pen pal and instead of sending just a letter to your PIN pal you're also sending like Pockets full of little goodies it can be tea and snacks and anything that's like for scrapbooking you know little sample pieces of anything you can really put anything you'd like in here letter that I'm responding to this is so beautiful this came from one of my friends her name is Mindy and she sent this to me and I think this is absolutely beautiful and this is the back where she included a bunch of amazing goodies in here she gave me stickers and I think this is a cute little button and flags and paper clips that she made herself is what it looks like and more stickers and all of these little embellishments and you put all of these things inside these little pocket folders that are really used for baseball cards so that is what's so cool about this and let me tell you guys this is so much fun to make and I am going to be doing this pocket letter in response to Mindy and I'm sending this one to her so for me before I really start any kind of crafting project I look for inspiration and my main inspiration came from this piece of scrapbook paper so I am going to be using this piece of scrapbook paper and I've just kind of pulled a couple of things some Washi some little notepads that I might be using I've pulled out some of my tools some stickers now the first thing that I am going to do is I am going to cut these down into boxes so that they can fit inside each little folder I don't actually have a baseball card to measure this out with so usually I just um measure I know the size of the boxes and then I use my cutting tool to cut it down with okay I finished cutting and inserting into my pockets this is the background so I'm going to decorate on top of the pockets and also on the inside of the pocket as well and I did choose to bring in another pattern here in the middle this like uh Pink gingham and now I'm actually going to continue to use some of the scrap papers right here here and I'm going to cut these up into five little blocks binder that has my functional stickers with my sticker letters I do have this video up where I did a sticker organization it's up on my channel if you want to go check that out and see how I put all of this together but I am actually going to look for some letters to apply to my blocks because I am going to spell out her name now let pretty cute I'm now going to Washi the side right here and yes it's going to cover up the holes and then I'm going to punch them through again just in case she likes to collect them and put them in a binder and I'm using this tape right here I got it from the target dollar spot I going to decorate this Center box right here here and I am going to use this project life card I liked it the most it really went with this pattern out of all the ones that I had I still want this paper to stick out so I'm going to make this a little bit smaller now I'm actually going to use some of this foam sticker stuff just so that this kind of pops out and now I'm going to slip that back in here I'm going to keep this theme going across these other Pockets right here so I'm going to take this same paper and I'm going to just cut it down a little bit because you can see my pin Mark I think I'm going to use some Dollar Tree foam hearts these are some of my absolutely favorite stickers I say that about a lot of stickers but I just love these and I actually need to go get some more so I think I'm going to use the see the bigger ones I like the bigger ones I'm going to add this little heart-shaped paper clip I got this from the target dollar bin for now I'm just going to put it right here on the corner and du the top I'm going to take some of these jewels and gems I got these at the Dollar Tree and I'm going to pull them out and kind of pick out the pink ones I like dark pink and the white and I am actually just going to slip these into the front pocket I want to seal this up right here at the top so the gems don't fall out so before I do that I have to slip in the little goodie that I'm going to put in the back and I am going to give her one of these magnets they are from the Dollar Tree so I got all of these for a dollar and H let's see which one do I actually like best I think I'm going to go with this one so I'm going to flip it over like this that you can see it on the outside app across like this to the opening so here is the back have two more Pockets to decorate on the front and then we can start adding the goodies to the back and I think I want to spell out Washi you can definitely label each box and let your pocket letter pile know what they're getting in each box but but I mean there really are no rules you can do whatever you want so I'm not spilling it out for all of them but I am going to put Washi on this one I think I'm going to add one of these flags it's a layered gift tag from the target dollar spot and I picked out the light pink one with the arrow which I think is so pretty on this to take some double-sided tape slip this here into the pocket and I think it's okay that that hangs out I think that's really cute it doesn't fit so I'm going to have to do it on top of the pocket okay I kind of like that so I'm going to go ahead and take some double-sided tape put this on the back and now I'm going to take this little sticker right here this is also from the Dollar Tree and I'm going to put put it right here in the center to decorate I am going to add some pink hearts to this now I'm going to go ahead and start adding the goodies you want to make sure to do the goodies last because they do bulk up the page and makes it hard for you to decorate here is my little letter I wrote her a note and then I sealed it with a kiss and now I'm going to insert it right here in this middle spot so let's take a look at all the goodies she's got her letter she's got some erasers and Washi stickers of magnet some notepads a gummy which is my favorite and then some of these Arrow tags which I really love and then here is the front the very last step once you have everything completed and you love how it looks the very last step is to actually mail it to your pocket letter pal so we're going to fold this over like this and at this point you can continue to decorate the package you can send it in the most you know beautiful wrapping whatever it is that you would like to do I am going to fold it over like this and I'm actually going to wrap it with this ribbon here this is the same ribbon that I used for my Valentine's Day wreath tutorial that I did a couple weeks ago and so I am just going to eyeball this I really don't know how much I need and I'm just going to tie this in a bow fold the Tails over and now it's done now it's going to go in its envelope and on its way to Mindy really does help to have the foamy sticker adhesive to like make things pop up it makes things look a lot nicer so I would recommend that in a heartbeat and as you can see I used a lot of Dollar Tree products which I mean it looks amazing and Target dollar spot as well and that is it for this pocket letter I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial if you have any questions let me know um otherwise just kind of type in pocket letters into YouTube and you will see the amazing world out there for pocket letters and all the creative ideas that are out there again just a beginner but I absolutely love this one it's so beautiful and I really hope Mindy likes it
