First Look - CN-126 LED Video Lighting Kit

Using Tripod Mounts and Lighting Rigs

It is just a standard tripod mount there you go I had this facing that way but now I twist did this a little too much there you go this is the way I meant to do it but as you can see sorry as I hit my other tripod. This actually looks pretty great but I know I said uh that I was going to be using this L grip which I might still but honestly it got kind of annoying um having to mount this part under the tripod mount of the camera itself then mounting the camera on top so it would be a rig. I mean I'm really not going to lie guys the rig looked pretty damn awesome uh it looked pretty sweet considering what it was uh but it just wasn't realistic for my usage and I have a spare tripod.

This is my old tripod that I've been using for years so I figured why not use it anyway. This is what it looks like with lights on my iMac G3 maybe not the best example but one example is better than no example right. So that's least intensity turning it up as you can see it's pretty freaking bright which is awesome paning over here you can see it's really really bright which is pretty sweet. Now let's turn that down a bit and I'll show you guys what the other diffusers look like.

Now again this one is included on the cn16 itself but you also get this small little booklet right here with orange and pink. Honestly I don't know if you will ever use these I don't know I mean I don't I don't think I ever will I really have no purpose to or or no reason to rather uh but it is one of those things that's I guess just fun to have in case you do want to use it. Putting pink on it may look white in the video but that's because of white balance issues and actually honestly pink doesn't really change the color all that much it might just D and intensify the uh White from the other white diffuser.

I'm trying to explain this the best way possible I'm far from a video lighting expert as you can probably tell. This is new to me but putting orange on should look different cuz orange is a dramatically different color than uh Pink here you go you can definitely tell already big big difference on the iMac now if you look at the iMac you can see that actually white might I mean uh orange might be a little better than white I mean for me anyway. Uh it looks more natural like a organically skin color I highly doubt as the best way of explaining what I just said uh but hopefully you get my points so basically if you shine this on your skin it doesn't look overly pale as opposed to the white one.

So let's put the white one on again real quick and then I'll wrap up this video where's the white one oh right there. Put this in here now as you can see it looks pale it has that bluish unnatural look to it of of course my white balance might adjust here and there but hopefully you guys can see what I mean by uh it just doesn't look that great however this is really good if you take the light from afar and shine it on an object at full intensity like way back here that way the light distributes itself itself across the room and that could be really good for any kind of video provided you need that kind of lighting.

Now I think I'm done actually real quick let me do one last test put this on my face but from back here now this is with the light on and this is with the light off. Now this does look more natural more warm colors going on on my skin but if you do you need a little extra light just turning the intensity up just slightly and hey it really does make a big difference especially considering the price uh this thing was like 40 bucks it's really not the best build quality far from it actually. But considering what you get for the price it's really not that bad.

This has been a very unorganized video I really don't know how to explain this stuff that well but hey I'm learning especially when I get my Canon T4i which I will hopefully be getting very soon. I just have a few things to sell on the side and I'm just trying to gather some for that because well obviously I mean I want to spend money on rent and bills and stuff so the cany forai fund is totally separate from my everyday life.

Just wanted to put that out there because I have a lot of people asking when I'm buying and trust me very very soon I'm just waiting till up to Seaside Heights and all that stuff but you know what all that will happen over time and I'm looking very forward to it. As always guys if you have any questions regarding this video lighting kit just post below and I'll do my best to answer those questions and I'll see you next time

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys David DeFranco here from DeFranco hosting.com as well as bodyless land I do have a bodys wear look I'm even wearing my dignation shirt God I miss that show anyway as promised today's video is all about the cn1 126 LED video lighting kit which is right behind me so first of all let me just start out by going through what is in the Box let me take this off my tripod this is the CN 126 itself you do have the white fuser included as well as 126 LEDs it's pretty crazy on the left side here we have the adjustment knob for intensity and on the back we have the battery compartment for sixa these are temporary uh until I have a better solution but in yesterday's video I was incorrect in saying that this is a battery charger this is actually a battery adapter so when these are not in here you can see take this tab off this little thing it fit in here well either that way or that way I'm really not sure since I can't see what the batter is there uh but you can put a Sony or Panasonic digital camera battery in this battery adapter connecting into here and then giving it battery power that's probably the worst way of explaining it but you guys know what I mean um basically it's a battery adapter that allows you to not use ablea batteries and if I H the wear battery one more time all right let's just move on this is a test to test the battery life there I go again uh to basically show you the battery life they have left which is always good and of course this is what it looks like on that is the least intensity you can have now turning it up now that's Max now as you can see it's pretty freaking bright let's turn it back down put the diffuser back on which goes like so bam now on the bottom here we do have a tripod mount mounting hole right there you can't see it because my tripod mount's already on it but to save time it's already screwed on there you go that's on now this is what's really cool I can actually put this on my tripod since it is just a standard tripod mount there you go I had this facing that way but now I twist did this a little too much there you go this is the way I meant to do it but as you
