Adam LZ Nissan 240SX Review - Boost and BMX

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthey just haven't seen it they just haven't seen so first you prime it then you turn it then you open this up and turn on the fans and there you go now you're ready to be at them that's really that easy so what's up you guys David here once again for another video review and today we're finally in Adam L's Nissan 240SX s13 it's SR20 powered with a GTX gt28 turbo essentially it's a little bit better than the T28 but with better internals in a nutshell so this is Adam drift car let's just come right to the Chase and my voice is completely gone so me yelling over it is not easy so the car is like halfway GED the rear seats and everything are gone but what's cool is his roll cage and everything under the carpet is this beautiful like almost root beer color it's like a copper color and it just glistens in the Sun but his outside is this awesome cream color that pretty much screams his brand I don't think I've ever seen another 240 in this color ever FL pretty good so anyway with the s13 you can't go wrong with it you know I love them but their greatest drift platforms why short wheeel based and well they used to be cheap but now they're pretty hard to get in comparison to what it used to be but he has everything pretty much done on this car the suspension even an angle kit he's got 8° of camber in the front but also positive in the rear so when he goes at an angle his contact patch and just everything just squats perfectly with that he slides it almost flawlessly end with this giant hydraulic e bra which is a dual caliper setup there's two different kinds of hydraulic e bres you can do one's basically like an inline which uses the sock Factory caliper or there's the Dual caliper which is just a separate system all together and dual caliper is usually the preferred method of doing it because it's that simple however the only bad part about that is effectively you don't have a parking brake so if you go to a parking lot or something you're have to rely on parking it in gear he's even put a pillow on the hydraulic brake sometimes to give it from Rolling oh backfire oh yeah did I mention earlier that not everyone's a fan of this color while was filming the Glamour Shots some guy decided to yell at an opinion from his car G thanks the clutch itself is incredibly stiff it's a competition clutch but it can handle the power and all the abuse that Adam gives this car but he says you definitely have to kind of give it a good old man kick to get it to work sometimes shifter feels so nice in this car it's one of my favorite things about it he doesn't like it as much sometimes cuz he says it's too short cuz he can get lost while drifting but one thing I've noticed about the SR in this Transmission in the gear ratio is what first I just kind of ease into feels pretty quick but then third and then third is a longer gear for sure so when Adam drifts a lot of the times he's in second and if he's in third he has to be hauling ass essentially to get it to go great about this is this reminds me of a lot of the other 240s I've driven but this is pretty much done perfect because in my opinion he didn't cut any corners and the motor's running perfect but he's also going to do an engine swap soon which he's incredibly scared about if you didn't know he's going to do a 2J stroker because he calls me one day and goes hey David should I get a 2JZ stroker kit I'm like I don't know and he goes okay I'll call you later and then he did it sure okay fine and then while he did that he rebuilt this Sr in this car because he loves seat time so much and didn't want to miss any drifting just like any Sr his other SRS have had the little nitpicky issues like Walker arms and things of that nature but overall this one feels super healthy doesn't misfire anything like that only at low speeds occasionally can it be a little off footing that's also because of the welded diff when you're driving around so let's talk about his body kit basically origin stylish for the most part but he also has this giant wing on the back and it's essentially a type X-Wing but exaggerated with the giant Wing Onan adds a lot of personality and character and I think it fits this car in particular with the cream color cuz it's not as nuts the motor itself built bottom in has cams also and has valve springs in retainers and another shocking thing is with how low the car is it still gets over stuff another addition is the Sparco seats I fit perfectly snug in it Adam's way taller than me but we're kind of similar body style like body frame so I fit perfectly into Sparco seat harnesses is great dude his door panels are like Flawless and he has a crackless Dash and what's funny is before for this review even with the cracker bumper and everything he was like I have to watch the car cuz I take pride in my car no matter what I take pride in having a clean 240SX I think that's been lost with a lot of s13s I think a lot of people depending on your Viewpoint ruin them quote unquote but Adam has treated it so right and I remember when I started my 240 I was like that's a really good role model because even though I probably won't drift mine in particular just for the aesthetic value and actually taking care of the car I think that's great BS the 240 is a car that I think we should cherish wo all right so power kicks in almost instantly in first second GE and the car feels so solid we were playing a setto Corsa the other night together and he was like dude I'm scared to doing the 2J swap I'm like how could you possibly be scared of doing a 2J swap because because I love my Sr build so much I totally see why every time you let off hkf pull off F another thing about Adams interor which is great he has his afrs where the air condition used to be and he also has his own grip Royal steering wheel which is so weird to me in a good way cuz he's my friend and I looked down I'm like Oh What A Boss he has his own steering wheel he started with LZ BMX that's what his YouTube channel was and then he was like I'm going to venture into cars which was a really gutsy move in my opinion not in a bad way I mean BMX extreme sports skateboarding whatever it is a lot of the times those people graduate onto cars later because their skateboard or their bike was their transportation device to get around and they would modify that so then they move on to cars they're like wow this is just exciting you're thrilling for an adrenaline junk really nice too is even with the really really aggressive camber up front the car's performance like into divits in the road and things of that nature you don't get thrown all over the place like say if you would in a front-wheel drive car it's very controllable and really great but I think a lot of that is in the VC suspension it's so nice driving to 240 where the speedometer and the tacometer actually work another really popular thing in the 240 Community now is using out of anything in the world CTSV brake calipers why because they're shockingly cheap because everybody used to do either Q45 or z32 z32 brakes are still pretty solid but if you have the little bit of extra cash always get the ctsb GM makes some of the best braking systems in the business is so putting it on this light of a car makes it break so quickly it's almost like off footing it's another similarity to my 240 what's funny is I drove all the way to Atlanta to buy mine then brought it all the way back to Virginia well Adam lived in Connecticut got this 240 in Florida brought it back to Connecticut and then moved to Florida just like I moved to Atlanta maybe it's just I guess a lot of people when they look for 240s they look South because of rust all right all right you guys I hope you all enjoyed this video of Adam LZ drift 240 it was an extremely short notice thing I was 3 hours above Orlando and I was like hey how about I just come down randomly and he was like yeah let's let's do it so here we are we had a good time thank you all so much for watching don't forget to subscribe and I'll see you guys next time take it easy have a fantastic day okay bye oh backfire well
