Mercedes AMG GT C Edition 50 _ 1 of 500 _ REVIEW POV Test Drive on ROAD & AUTOBAHN by AutoTopNL

The Crazy Car: A German Whole World of Fun and Drama

As I sit here surrounded by the sleek lines and powerful curves of the Mercedes-AMG SLS, I am reminded of the incredible world that is AMG. It's not just a badge on the side of a car, it's an entire philosophy and approach to driving that embodies drama, performance, and handling. And what better way to experience this than in a car that embodies all of these qualities: the Mercedes-AMG SLS.

The SLS was an incredible car to look at, with its bold lines and aggressive stance that commanded attention on the road. And when you stepped inside, it was clear that this was a car designed for driving enthusiasts. The interior was minimalist and sporty, with a focus on performance and handling above all else. It was like stepping into a high-performance cockpit, where every button and lever was precision-tuned to deliver maximum excitement behind the wheel.

But as I delved deeper into the SLS, I discovered that AMG had made some significant changes in recent years. Gone were the days of lazy automatic gearboxes and soft suspension; instead, we saw a car that was sharp, responsive, and capable of delivering performance levels rivaling some of the best sports cars on the market. The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, linked to the potent four-liter V8 biturbo engine, provided lightning-quick shifts that left me grinning from ear to ear.

The SLS's handling was a revelation, with a precision and control that belied its size and weight. It was like driving a shopping cart on wheels, with the rear end hugging the road in anticipation of every turn or input. The upshifts were crisp and snappy, while the downshifts were smooth and controlled – it was like having your own personal stunt driver behind the wheel.

But what really set the SLS apart was its drama and flair. This was a car that reveled in its performance capabilities, with a soundtrack that screamed "I'm here to have fun!" through every rev, every gearshift, and every corner. It was an experience that was equal parts exhilarating and addictive, leaving me hooked from the very first shift.

As I continued to explore the SLS's features and options, I discovered some interesting facts about this incredible car. For example, did you know that AMG's carbon ceramic brakes are molded in a vacuum at -17°C? Or that they're capable of withstanding temperatures as high as 300°C? It's clear that attention to detail has been paramount in the design and engineering of the SLS.

But what really struck me was how well the SLS performs on the track. Compared to other cars in its class, such as the BMW E63 and Audi S60, the SLS is noticeably quicker off the line – a testament to AMG's expertise in fine-tuning the engine for maximum performance. And while it may not have reached its top speed as quickly as some of its competitors, the SLS's handling and responsiveness made up for it in spades.

As I switched between different driving modes and configurations, I was struck by the sheer variety of options at my disposal. From the sporty suspension settings to the customizable traction control, every input seemed to yield a new level of excitement and engagement from the car. And when we finally put the SLS into manual mode, with its seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and potent V8 engine, I was blown away by the sheer pace and precision of the shifts.

But what really sealed the deal for me was the sense of drama and flair that pervaded every aspect of the SLS's design and engineering. From the distinctive front fascia to the swooping lines of the rear end, this car seemed to say: "I'm here to have fun, and I'm not going to apologize for it." And when you stepped inside, with its aggressive dashboard trim and precision-tuned ergonomics, you knew that you were in for a wild ride.

As we came to the end of our driving experience, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer capabilities and charms of the Mercedes-AMG SLS. It was a car that had it all – performance, handling, drama, and flair – and yet still managed to remain accessible and enjoyable for drivers of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned track rat or just a fan of fast cars, the SLS is sure to deliver an experience that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

And speaking of experiences, I'd like to give a shout-out to some other POV reviews we've done in the past – including this review of a 1991 Mark II GT3. experts in car parts they've got everything from brakes to fluids electronics suspension steering everything you want for your car for any budget go check them out link is in the description enjoy the video what's up ladies and gentlemen and welcome to this POV review biota tapa now my name is Max and today we are taking a look at this awesome Mercedes AMG GT c coupe a edition 50 it's quite a mouthful but it is quite a car as well this specific edition the Edition 50 is to celebrate 50 years of AMG and it was sort of the first one you could order when the GTC gup-a was available so it was only available as this 50 Edition 50 and sort of as an introduction model it is graphite gray Mac now this color so a very dark grey with a matte finish and you could also get it in a cashmere white magno so a matte white if you have seen our videos about the car we drove the c63 AMG the ocean blue Edition that was also a special model to celebrate 50 years of AMG and that was cashmere white so what is different on the Edition 50 and what is different on the GTC well the GTC boasts that the Panamericana grill for the first time and the gt-r had it as well now the GT and the GTS have been updated and they also have this been Americana grill as standard it also has very large air ducts there with some cooling behind it and because this is an addition 50 the light units or the unit that houses the lights is also black or dark gray we have these fake central lock wheels I still don't understand why they do this it's a very expensive car please Mercedes just come with a real one 1988 the front and with black chrome details in the wheel carbon ceramic brakes the addition 50 has a lot of black chrome details on the side so these ones as well the shiny black stuff really cool on the side skirt as well black mirrors and at the rear I mean this is where this car is I mean this rear end is so freakin cool I really loved it I really loved those air outlets it has a retractable spoiler GT Edition 50 badge as well and some more black chrome here on the rear bumper and the exhaust tips are black robes well more air ducts and this car actually has a wider body the GTC has the wider body and the wider track of GTR and that wider track is just because it has wider wheels so nothing within the axle or stuff like that but man this car looks so mean in this chrome black chrome dark grey combination when we look at the interior we have a carbon-fiber inlay here with AMG logo someone's coming we'll just get out of here and I'll tell you some more we have silver pearl on the interior so the seat belts that's that lighter gray color the twelve o'clock mark on the steering wheel which is microfiber so sort of a an Alcantara and it's on the seats as well the gray in the doors on the center console it's everywhere and it also has a little addition 51 of 500 badge right here because that's how many they made 250 roadsters and 250 base the GTC as the same m17 8 4 litre v8 biturbo from the other models but it has 558 horsepower and 680 Newton meters so 0 to 100 3.7 top speed 317 kilometers an hour we'll take it to the old man in this review as well or I will so stay tuned for that part but for now I mean we have already done the review of the GDC that was a roadster so if you want to learn more about that car click up here check out that review and well let's start by examining why they built this car it's in addition 50 so 50 years fame gee aw bunny as I said that c63 ocean-blue edition was also part of that I think they make 150 of those and there's also a special version of the C 43 AMG I believe it's called the night in addition or something like that and it is to commemorate 50 years of AMG and this of course is the second full-on sports car by AMG the SLS being the first one but think about how far they've come I mean before the SLS no one would have thought that AMG would come with such a crazy car and and still and that SLS was incredible to look at to drive it was really a lot of fun or it still is but it is essentially a German whole world I mean it's not toy store or really sharp or anything like that it's it's about drama and in a couple of in the last couple of years that sort of changed at AMG they decided that they wanted more you know sharp handling and stuff like that alright let's switch off the traction control because that is already having trouble with it oh man and that's put it in manual so we have seven gears dual clutch gearbox and as I said it's linked to that four liter v8 biturbo which is an incredible ancient but this gearbox I mean just listen to how quick these shifts are man I mean that's something that you wouldn't see in the old AMG in my I mean they were really lazy automatic gearboxes this is really fast and sharp and very much performance orientated those up shifts are I mean they are at BTK level now chips a bit slower than a PDK but still with a big crackle when the rear end goes it is just like it's so controllable what I just described it perfectly it's like a shopping cart you know like it has rotating wheels that back just comes out and well you're just as relaxed as ever all right let's rev it a bit so draw my why's they still know how to do it but AMG have moved much more toward Porsche for instance and that's also because the man responsible for this car came from portion so maybe that had an influence I don't know but they sort of went away from that initial AMG character which were just like I said German hot rods and now they are probably the best sounding and every class they compete in which they were before but they can also measure themselves with the competition when it comes to handling and that wasn't the case before all right so we are at the older one here I'm going to get on so we're going to select now let's give it a manual and we'll put the suspension in the middle setting so not too hard not too soft and I think that's about it okay here we go let's see what it is like as I said looked mean 317 all right so so we're at it is quite hard mrs. Fang chip that's 300 all those carbon ceramic brakes fun facts those carbon ceramic brakes by AG are molded in a vacuum at 17-under Celsius this car is false don't get me wrong it is really fast when it sort of seems there struggled at higher speeds the e63 fritz more nests 63 that's 308 as I was saying if you compare it to d63 or an s60 3 we also drove those on this piece of Altima they reach their top speed so I think the e63 is at 309 on the speedo and the seat s 63 or 315 they reach that speed much much quicker so I think that even though they have the same engine I think the changes they made to go from this kind of power 558 to 612 those changes also mean that this car performs a bit less on at higher speeds so maybe it's a bigger intercooler something like that I don't know oh those tunnels never really get old as you know this GDC sits right in between the GTR and the GTS the GTS has had a recent power upgrade so it now has 522 horsepower instead of 510 here we go go but this car only has 20 Newton meters less than a GTR so they actually are quite in power what this TVC loops so much more me yes this might be my favorite three times man again don't get me wrong it's a really fast car but I just feel like that at e63 s63 engine it has a longer if that makes any sense okay so my yes my petrol is running low let's see how far we can go 67 66 kilometers and enough but I think that AMG commemorating 50 years of existence with a car like this is really it's a good choice because I think that the AMG GTS is the ultimate combination of the old AMG and the new AMG it drives insanely well it also has the four-wheel steering of an AMG GTR and it just it is really sharp stiff hard it's just very enjoyable to drive it and above that you have that AMG drama not bad not bad at all so that's it for this review I hope you enjoyed it you can also check out this POV review of a 9 91 mark 2 gt3 or you can check out this POV reviews playlist make sure to subscribe right
