2024 Honda Accord – Which to Buy

The Honda Accord entered its 11th generation in 2023, it features clean exterior styling, an excellent and refined interior, and a choice between two powertrains. There's a lot to like in this lineup for 2024, so which one is the right one for you? For 2024, the two lowest trim levels are offered with a gas engine, while the four upper trims are all Hybrid models.

The entry-level engine is a 1.5 L turbocharged 4-cylinder, it's good for 192 horsepower and 192 lb feet of torque, and it feeds the front wheels via a CVT. Fuel economy is rated at 29 MPG gallon in the city and 37 m/gallon out on the highway. Hybrid models feature a 2 L 4 cylinder that pairs with a pair of electric motors to deliver a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb feet of torque.

But this is a more interesting setup than your typical hybrid, as it's Honda's TW motor system and it behaves almost more like an EV. The gas engine feeds a generator motor that then sends power to the traction motor or the gas engine also keeps the 1.06 kilow hour battery pack topped up. You have an electric motor that delivers power to the front wheels and an electric motor acting as a generator most of the time.

The electric motor is providing the propulsion power, but there's also a clutch that can couple on as needed, and then the front axle can also get power from the gas engine. This system eliminates the need for a typical transmission, and it also lets the Accord Hybrid returns strong fuel economy figures, it's rated to deliver up to 51 MPG gallon in the city and 44 m/gallon on the highway.

Now we first arrive at the base Accord LX on the outside, you'll find 17-in alloy wheels and LED lighting up front. In the cabin, there's a nice 7-in color touch screen in the center, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and so is the 10.2in digital instrument display panel. The 2024 Honda Accord LX starts at $28,995 with a speaker audio system.

The Accord EX starts at $31,500, building on that sport model it adds features like leather seats and changes out the 19-in wheels for putty gray 17-in alloy wheels typically when you see a Honda model appended with an L, it gets leather interior trim. The 2024 Accord EXL also has front and rear parking sensors.

Next is the Accord Sport, which builds on that initial sport model, but adds features like a memory driver seat, a powered passenger seat, black exterior trim, and a rear diffuser. The 2024 Honda Accord Sport starts at $33,900. Finally, the top spec model is the Accord Touring, it one features built-in Google Technologies such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play.

There's a 6-in head-up display ahead of the driver, you can listen to your tunes via the 12s speaker Bose audio system, while your device can charge wirelessly via the Chi wireless charger. The front seats are heated and ventilated, and the rear seats are also heated, finally you get the same blacked out 19-inch wheels as on the sport. The 2024 Honda Accord Touring is $39,000.

I don't care for leather in my cars but I do think the hybrid powertrain is worth the jump. So, I recommend the Accord Sport, you get the larger screen and the nicer wheels, and you stay below $35 Grand which is pretty amazing in today's market. But if you really need those heated front seats, the EXL is also a great choice at just a few grand higher. Either way, keep your Accord right there in the middle of the pack, and you have a great deal on your hands.
