Unboxing and First Impressions of the Panasonic Lumix GH4 Camera

Keeping my fingers crossed because I really like the uh Canon lenses but uh I'm hoping that the quality will improve because I've heard even this uh 12 to 35 mm lens is actually pretty sharp.

camera and I posted about this on Twitter and some of you were interested about my thoughts and wanted me to do the unboxing and uh I'll also talk about the cameras that I was using earlier in this video and hopefully this will be my main camera moving forward and the main reason I got this is for 4K and prior to using this and in fact I'm shooting the video with the Canon 70D and I really like Canon uh dslrs uh I also use this Canon 550d and looks like Canon is not going to release a 4K mid-range DSLR anytime soon so we have the GH4 I won't be posting all the videos in 4k but I like the fact that you can shoot in 4k and let's say I just want to zoom into a particular area I can do that without any quality loss so that was the main reason uh for getting the this one and as you can see I got this with the kit lens this product is available in two variants just the body only and with this kit lens that is a 12 to35 mm f2.8 lens and uh regarding the pricing if you just want the body it is available in India for just around 1 lakh 1 lak 2,000 was the code that I got but if you're opting for this with the lens then the cost goes High because this lens is actually pretty expensive uh this lens cost around ,000 and as you can see the price quoted here on the box is $224,990 but this pricing is not that correct because this product uh list for 172,000 on the Panasonic India website but I purchased this one from a local retailer here in Hyderabad called ji Studios very nice guy and I could bargain it for just under 1 160,000 yes I know it's a high price but again it can record in 4k and this lens is supposed to be actuallyy pretty good and it's supposed to be sharp and here are some of the accessories that you can get and we also get this let's say some Panasonic yeah uh I think so warranties and uh we also have installation demo and service coupon wow we have demo that's interesting uh so let's just move and and it says creating still pictures from 4K and we have some DVDs Etc and quite a bit of manuals actually three fat manuals we have and uh let's open this up and first let's look at the lens and this is the lens uh we have the lens cap that just came out I'll just put that to the side let's look at the lens and uh this is a Panasonic Lumix lens uh supposed to be pretty good quality and it's made up of metal as you can see we look at this one a bit later Let's uh take out the camera and move out the box first and we have the camera inside also the camera actually feels pretty light uh the body without the lens but let's see what else do we have we have the Lumix uh strap I'll keep that to the side and uh looks like uh usb2 a proprietary USB uh Port that we have and uh this is for the power and we have the power uh this will be used for charging the re uh rechargeable battery that we have let me keep that to the side and underneath again one more power cable so that is interesting and finally we have the battery also I've heard that the battery is pretty good I'll just take out the box and so that we can zoom in so this is the battery uh let me keep back to the side and let's look at the camera itself and this is the GH4 the biggest thing about this one is that it can record 4K video natively uh you don't need any separate accessories uh with this and it has a tilt out screen like this and it's a touch screen which even my 70D has uh but again it can record 4K and uh heard that it does actually a pretty good job again it's pretty light compared to even my 70D and uh I will be using this mainly for videos and the good thing is that we have a dedicated uh we have a mic input over here and also a dedicated headphone jack actually my 7D does not have that so if you're doing solo work like me uh this is a good thing you can monitor the audio and this is standard uh AV out digital cable and HDMI micro HDMI to HDMI and again uh here your SD card will go in and uh the battery goes in at the bottom again a what you say metal Mount as expected this GH4 also has Wi-Fi capabilities and prior to this I was also using the Canon 550d I moved between the Canon 70D and the 550d the Canon 70D also had Wi-Fi but it's Wi-Fi it could not work in the video mode but with this GH4 the Wi-Fi works even with video so this this is the lux's lens this is 12 to 35 mm lens and it's supposed to be a good quality lens and it has that weight it is a metal lens uh it is not plastic and the zoom ring uh is actually pretty smooth I would say again for my work for this YouTube related work I don't need a lot of Zoom so this should be more than enough in my opinion also this lens has Optical image stabilization let's just Mount this lens on the GH for now and it locks in so it looks something like this and we can also use the Canon lenses on this for example the EF lenses not the EFS EF lenses with adapter that is uh available and uh I might do that but I don't have a lot of EF lens I have a lot of EFS lenses but that sadly does not work uh but the thing is that if you use those adapters uh then you don't get autofocus so you want autofocus focusing then you got to stick with this Lumix G native lenses I will mostly be using this GH4 primar to just shoot videos for my YouTube channel but this is also a very good still camera it has the uh micro 43z sensor and regarding still photographs you can take still photographs up to 16 map with this camera I hope that this camera upgrade improves the quality of the videos that you see on my channel keeping my fingers crossed because I really like the uh Canon
