Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14 - 42 mm _ F 3.5 - 5.6 Lens Unboxing Hands On

**Unboxing and Hands-On with the Panasonic Lumix GX 14-42mm Power OIS Lens**

The unboxing process began by carefully removing all the contents from the box to reveal the Panasonic Lumix GX lens. Upon first glance, it's clear that this lens is well-built and of high quality. The soft lining on the inside of the pouch adds a touch of comfort and luxury, while the waterproof material on the outside suggests durability and resistance to the elements.

The build quality of the lens is truly impressive, with metal surfaces and a sturdy construction that exudes professionalism. The logo on the front of the lens reads "Lumix GX 14-42mm" in bold letters, while the back cover bears the certification and model number. As soon as the lens cap is removed, it's clear that this is no ordinary lens. The camera body and lens combination looks sleek and well-balanced, making it an attractive option for street photographers.

To fully appreciate the lens's capabilities, I decided to attach it to my GF1 camera and test its features. With the standard kit lens on the camera, I swapped out the lens to use the Lumix 14-42mm power OIS lens. The moment I powered on the camera, I was struck by how responsive and intuitive the lens feels in operation. The focus toggle and powered Zoom toggle are positioned conveniently for easy access.

The closest focus distance is an impressive 2m or 0.66ft, while the lens's nano surface coating promises reduced ghosting and flare. One of the standout features of this lens is its excellent build quality, which is evident in every detail from the metal surfaces to the subtle ridges on the lens barrel. This level of craftsmanship ensures that the lens will withstand harsh conditions and provide years of reliable service.

As I continued to experiment with the lens, I found it to be extremely well-suited for street photography. The ability to quickly switch between autofocus and manual focus using the toggle is a great feature, reducing the need to manually adjust settings in bright light. While it may not offer the same level of precision as a ring-based focus mechanism, this toggling system still provides excellent results.

**Testing the Lens's Performance**

To fully assess the lens's capabilities, I decided to test its performance using both the camera's stock firmware and custom firmware installed by myself. The stock firmware allows for 720p video recording, while the custom firmware enables full HD video recording at 1080p. This promise of improved video quality is certainly one that I'm eager to explore further.

During my testing, I found the lens to perform admirably in a variety of lighting conditions. Whether I was shooting indoors or outdoors, the lens consistently delivered crisp and clear images. The image stabilization feature proved particularly effective in reducing camera shake and blur, allowing me to capture sharp images even when moving quickly between shots.

**Conclusion**

The Panasonic Lumix GX 14-42mm power OIS lens is an impressive addition to any photographer's arsenal. Its excellent build quality, combined with its advanced features like optical image stabilization and manual focus toggle, make it a compelling option for street photographers and enthusiasts alike. While I've only just begun testing the lens, I'm confident that it will provide years of reliable service and help me capture some truly outstanding images.

As always, I'll be sharing my full review of this lens once I've completed more extensive testing and experimentation. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's happening guys this Bal fan.in and today we're going to be looking at a special lens uh that I got for my camera I own uh a Panasonic gf1 from the time it first came out in 2010 I believe so uh this is one of my favorite cameras to use it's uh one of the first micro 43z cameras that came out it's got a really nice uh construction and build to it and Panasonic just came out with this new lens uh it's the 1442 mm uh lens it's called the GX lens it's made for the Lumix G system so it works on the gf1 and any model after that uh including the g1x uh that recently came out this is a powered zoom lens so it essentially makes your micr 43z camera uh a compact point and shoot uh kind of camera because of the powered zoom lens uh this lens cost about $400 or about 20,000 and odd rupees so about 22,000 rupes in the market and I'm really happy that I was able to get this I had to import it from the US so the cost of import and all needs to be added to it if you own a Panasonic G systems camera uh this lens will work with it and you don't need any sort of adapter to make it work with your Panasonic camera so I'm just going to quickly unbox the lens and show you what it looks like and then I'm going to put it onto the camera and show you how it performs so the first thing in the box is the owner's manual I'm not really going to read this but it is there and uh uh there are a couple of stickers here that you can add to the lens in case you need to add instructions so you have a power Zoom sticker and all those kind of stickers in case you need to add them to your lens to tell you what button does what but I don't think I'm going to add any stickers to My Lens uh this is a really nice and well constructed lens so they have a users manual that comes in the Box uh we do of course have the lens over here I'm going to put that aside and look at the next thing and the last thing in the box which is the carrying case uh Panasonic usually gives carrying cases with most of their lenses now this is a waterproof material kind of uh case uh so it is nice and it is got soft lining on the inside so it's got this soft touch lining on the inside almost like a microfiber cloth and we have a water proof material on the outside you have the Lumix logo over here the Panasonic logo over here very nicely made pouch and it's a draw string kind of pouch so that's what you can use to hold your lens now it's time for the PS the resistance or the main thing inside the Box this is the new uh Lumix GX lens uh really impressively built lens it's got the two toggles over here this is a focus toggle and a powered Zoom toggle uh you can see the markings over here I'm just going to zoom in a bit so that you guys can see the lens up close the 14 42 mm it is an HD lens uh the closest Focus distance is 2 m or 0.66 ft uh it does have a nano surface coating and it says that right here now this metal uh this lens is made completely of metal and you can feel the kind of build quality this lens has it's extremely well built and uh you can see the steel surfaces over here and uh there's the Lumix logo you have some certification and the model number over there this lens is made in Japan so that's why it's got really nice construction you can see this is the focus toggle the powered Zoom toggle and uh this is the front of the lens just get rid of the lens cap you can see the lens and this is the back cover this is the part that goes onto the camera so extremely well-built lens I'm really happy with the construction I'm just going to quickly add it to my uh gf1 and I've currently got uh the 20 mm kit lens on there with a steel Hood so I'm just going to get rid of the steel Hood first and this is the lens I have on there it's the Lumix 20 mm uh kit lens that I got with the camera so it's essentially something that I'm going to be replacing with that so that I can use it for street photography and uh that's what it looks like impressive looking lens over there and uh as soon as you power it on you will see the difference because now it starts to become a point and shoot camera and uh you get the zoom toggle over there and now you can control your zoom using this toggle so uh the camera lens now becomes a powered zoom lens and you can see how it works over there does a fairly good job and you can also switch from autofocus to manual focus focus using the toggle as well and you can see that it works great and it can kind of reduce Shake as well because now you don't have to move your hand around to focus you can just simply put your hand on the side and uh use the toggle to focus uh it's not very accurate it's not as accurate as a ring would be because you will find yourself losing the exact Focus Mark but you can see that it works great and uh you can quickly take a picture I don't have a memory card in there yet but uh that's what the lens looks like basically and I will have a full review out for this uh really soon I'm going to be taking a lot of pictures and video with this I also have thought of installing a custom firmware on my gf1 which will enable full HD video and I would like to see the difference in video quality from that versus um the video quality of the stock and now currently it records only at 720p but I believe that there is a slight increase in quality and it does record at 1080p once you do install the P tool Customs custom firware so I'm going to be doing that uh but before I do that I'm actually going to be testing this lens as stock and then I'm going to be testing it with the custom firmware and see I'll see if there's any difference uh with the stock and custom firmwares and uh I'll I'll come out with a full review for you guys so there you go guys this was a quick unboxing and Hands-On with the new Panasonic Lumix 1442 mm power ois or Optical image stabilization lens it's the Lumix GX varia pz and um it's an HD lens it's got a nano surface
