This New $20,000 Car Has Toyota Crapping in Their Pants

The Hyundai Venue Hybrid: A Surprisingly Impressive Option

As I recently had the opportunity to test drive the Hyundai Venue Hybrid, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by its performance and features. This car has been making waves in the market with its affordable price point of $25,000, but what really sets it apart is its innovative transmission system - an actual automatic dual clutch transmission. Unlike the CVTs that are common in many hybrid vehicles, this Venue Hybrid's transmission provides a smooth and responsive driving experience.

I took the Venue out for a spin on our local drag strip, where I was able to put its torque and low horsepower to the test. The result was impressive - it smoothly shifted through the gears without any hesitation or lag, much like a conventional automatic transmission. And as we reached speeds of 45, 60, and beyond, I could feel the confidence in this car's performance. This is definitely not a CVT transmission, and its ability to maintain speed and momentum is a major plus.

But what really sets the Venue Hybrid apart is its impressive fuel economy - an estimated 50 miles per gallon on the highway. And with its spacious interior and generous trunk space, it's clear that Hyundai has put a lot of thought into this car's design and functionality. The seats are even removable, allowing you to customize the vehicle to your liking and increase storage space.

As I explored the Venue's features and amenities, I was impressed by the amount of tech and innovation that has gone into this car. Dual climate controls, wireless Android and Apple connectivity, and all the hybrid information you could want - it's a well-thought-out vehicle that checks all the right boxes. And with its sleek design and premium feel, it's clear that Hyundai is trying to compete with some of the bigger players in the market.

But what about safety features? I asked our car expert if this was a car that someone would recommend to friends or family members. Their response? "If you're thinking of gas mileage and a hybrid that has an actual automatic transmission, not one of those stinking CVTs...you might want to take a look at one of these." And they're right - the Hyundai Venue Hybrid is definitely worth considering.

For context, the Hyundai Venue Hybrid is a relatively new model, introduced in 2021. But with its hybrid technology and innovative transmission system, it's clear that Hyundai is trying to shake up the market and compete with some of the bigger players. And while they may not be as well-established as Toyota or Honda, they're definitely worth considering for anyone looking for a reliable and fuel-efficient vehicle.

But what about some of the other options in this price range? Our car expert noted that the Toyota Corolla Cross is also worth considering - it's a compact SUV with a lot of space and features. And if you're interested in something a bit more traditional, there's always the Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4. But what sets the Venue Hybrid apart from these other options?

As our car expert put it, "I think the Venue is a great option for someone who wants to own an SUV but doesn't want to give up on fuel efficiency." And I have to agree - with its impressive fuel economy and generous features list, this car is definitely worth considering. Plus, with its sleek design and premium feel, it's clear that Hyundai has put a lot of thought into this vehicle.

One question that came up during the review was what about the Toyota Corolla Cross? Is this a better option than the Venue Hybrid? Our car expert noted that both vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses - but ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. "I had a customer bring me a Toyota Cross," they said. "I was impressed for its size and functionality...but at the end of the day, you just have to take them for a spin and see which one you like."

And that's exactly what I did - took the Venue Hybrid out for a spin and saw firsthand how well it handles on the road. With its smooth transmission and responsive handling, this car is definitely a contender in the compact SUV market.

But as we all know, there are plenty of other options out there - some people might find that they don't quite fit their needs or preferences. That's why our expert advised, "go look at them and road test them at a dealer...see which one you like and what you want to pay for." And I couldn't agree more.

In the end, the Hyundai Venue Hybrid is definitely worth considering for anyone looking for a reliable and fuel-efficient vehicle. With its impressive features list, generous interior space, and smooth transmission, it's clear that this car is a winner in many ways.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enrev up your engin a new yundai Elantra hybrid and I do mean new they only started making these hybrids in 2021 and this is a brand new one with like 300 miles on it now everybody knows I'm not a Korean car fan right but this may be a horse of a different color now you know I always say don't buy something new when it comes out well you got to realize 2021 may be the first Elantra hybrid but 2011 is when they started making the Sonata Hybrids so their hybrid system has been out for quite some time and they have not really had any problems with it either now here's what you get for $25,000 that's what he paid he paid the list price for this car everybody knows I don't like CVT transmissions and yundai had problems with a lot of stuff well as I said this is a horse of a different color because this hybrid has a dual clutch six-speed automatic transmission so you can throw all the problems and the rather poor driveability of many cvts away cuz this is an automatic transmission that's dual clutch we'll see what it's like when we take it for a ride but theoretically it's a very good idea they built these things right you're not having that CVT lag where you feel like you're pushing a lawn mower you're in a little outboard motor with 5 horsepower just goes and you barely move this is a dual clutch transmission we'll see what it's like when he Road tested but as far as I'm concerned a better idea and if they hold up over time it would be a phenomenal idea that you get a car like this for 25 Grand that can get upwards of 50 m a gallon for that price with a dual clutch transmission originally a caret was a racing design it's for Speed and really smooth quick shifting and even though it's only 25 Grand you get a spare tire now I've seen $70,000 cars that no longer come with spare tires this is a car for people to drive in the real world you get a flat tire it has a spare tire in it when you combine a hybrid with a gasoline 1.6 L engine you get 139 horsepower but it has 195 lb feet of torque for pulling and acceleration and the thing that I like about it is what don't you see on this thing hard to tell cuz this everything's covered with plastic but if you look around you will not see a Turbocharger unlike most of the smaller Vehicles these days they opted for a non-turbo now they could have got a lot more horsepower with a turbo but this car not having a turbo is going to have so much longer lifespan than a turbocharged car that you probably be happy that it is not turbocharged because with that dual clutch transmission and all that torque with the electric motor boost it should be relatively Zippy we're going to take it for a spin soon to see how it goes but if you can get that kind of torque without having to throw a turbo this four cylinder engine is going to last a whole bunch longer and as I told the past you had all kinds of problems with their engines but it's not the 1.6 L engine that's in this that they are having problems with so of course time is going to tell he's the guinea pig for us here right but I mean 25 grand for that price that kind gas module we see how it rides it could prove to be kind of groundbreaking for yundai they could sell them at that price they get that kind of gas mod with that kind of torque if they hold up hey they'll probably s quite a few of these things now of course everybody wants an SUV and this is a sedan well all I got to say is there's plenty enough room inside these things the seats he's a big guy he's got the seat back and there's still some room in the other seat there's tons of Room LA wheels and not cheap fake hub CS you can see this isn't made some strange country this is a Korean car made in Korea look this thing even has functioning air dams on it they want to get better gas mod with the hybrid they're not fake they're real so we'll shut the hood and we'll take it for a spin it's got this thing that says do not roll down what's going on here well he wanted to make a little snaz here that's from the window tinning guys that has to cure you can see he's added fancy tin to and I think it looks good and here's something I like he has a lot of electronic stuff it's hybrid car but look manual seats you know what happens with manual seats you can put them wherever you want and they never break there's no motor to break that's my kind of seat hey 25 Grand you got heated seats hey can you complain no so let's start it up oh has a little cute music here really nice modern Dash decent backup camera and of course there's the sound we're backing up and it's warning people with a happy music and a ding now here we go you can see we're in EV Power the engine hasn't turned on yet it's huming took him a while to get used to that right now the engine's on and we'll take it for its little Paces here the rid's not bad for short wheelbase car but of course when you take your foot off the gas the car starts huming again cuz it's regening electricity and working on electric power and that's law they got to make some kind of noise otherwise you might sneak up on children squash them now of course you can play around all you want but we're going to put in sports mode for our little drag strip test doing that we'll see how this dual clutch transmission does I can tell driving already though it's not like a CVT transmission at all I don't feel like it's just revving up and not going anywhere because it's actually shifting gears if you get the regular lantro yeah you're going to get a CVT transmission you got no choice but on these hybrids I thought it was a pretty good idea them coming out with dual clutch transmissions in them and unlike the cvts with fake shifting this has real shifting so there's nobody behind us now we'll get to our little drag strip and we'll see what this baby can do with its torque and low horsepower and you can feel it trip the gears nothing outrageous but really smooth gear shifting and not that CVT where the engine just goes and it slowly catches up to the engine now as you can see we're going 45 before down shifts way it goes now we're going 60 hey this is definitely not a CVT transmission and it's got the save yourself here we go watch it's going to beep at us I didn't use my turn signal but it isn't self-driving you got to turn it yourself though if you remember in that Toyota Venza it did steer towards the middle until we got a little further down here where it was going to run into the tree and I had to take over check it out look I'm driving like a maniac and it's still getting 51 miles a gallon now he's a big guy he makes me look small and guess what he likes it cuz there's lots of room well let me tell you look at my legs they're not even near the steering wheel I do have to say there's a lot of room in this car this isn't like a tiny little yundai this is a pretty wellth thought out vehicle I got to admit now he got an airon Mission Darkness so if he puts his key fob in here it doesn't recognize it so people can't find it and you don't have to worry about people with readers stealing your information not a bad idea if you're worry D check out one of these you got dual climate controls and a $25,000 car and of course all the hybrid information and it's all Wireless Android Apple hey I got to say this $25,000 car is looking better and better and speaking of looking good it's a pretty good looking car that's one of the reasons he bought it he had to wait a year to get this color in this model pretty Sharp pluging $225,000 car look at it it even came with these wheels he didn't pay extra for these wheels check out the back look at the lighting it's a pretty snazzy looking car for 25 Grand so here we have a quandry for me a yandai cars that I really can't stand but 25 Grand you get a real automatic dual clutch transmission it can get 50 something miles a gallon it looks like this it came with fancy alloy wheels has a rather voluminous trunk and the seats popped on too so you can put even more stuff in it sounds pretty solid to me so if you're think of gas mileage and a hybrid that has an actual automatic transmission and not one of those stinking cvts you might take a look at one of these granted they've only been making them since 2021 but Hundai has been making hybrid sonatas since 2011 so they got a lot of that down pat in this price range with that kind of gas modu an actual automatic transmission maybe Yi's making a turnaround now I'm too cheap I won't even spend 25 Grand but this guy did a lot of research took him a year to get this cuz he had to wait so long for the color for the hybrid hey I got to say I'm shocked I'm kind of impressed by this yundai hybrid with an actual automatic dual clutch transmission and here's some bonus questions and answers GP says I'm chopping for an SUV car do you think the Toyota Corolla cross is good I know you say the Red 4s and CRVs which is better what do you want you know I had a customer bring me a Toyota cross I was impressed for its size and what it is you might want to also look at the Toyota Corolla hatchbag right it's basically a Toyota Matrix they stopped making the matrixes and then Toyota didn't want to make themselves even more foolish than they already were by getting rid of models and bringing them back so instead of calling it the Toyota Matrix they call it the Toyota Corolla hatchback as for example the original Toyota matrixes were called Toyota Corolla matrixes then they shortened The Matrix all and that's a really good car too you know there's nothing wrong with a cross my advice with those vehicles are go look at them and road test them at a dealer see which one you like and what you want to pay for and then go from there they're all excellent Vehicles some people might think oh this rid's rough or this is too small or this is too big I can get a smaller one decide what you want then look at them and they're all good decisions really so if you never want to miss one of my new car repair videos remember to ring that Bell\n"
