How To Configure Payments to Paypal or Stripe in Microsoft Bookings from Office365

**Setting Up Payments in Microsoft Bookings: A Step-by-Step Guide**

**Introduction:**

Microsoft Bookings currently integrates payment processing through Stripe and PayPal, with availability limited to Canada, the US, and Mexico. While global expansion is anticipated, users from regions like Australia or the EU may experience delays.

**Accessing Microsoft Office Portal:**

1. **Log In:** Visit portal.office.com.

2. **Navigate Main Page:** Click on the nine-dot icon in the top left corner to access your main page.

**Enabling Bookings and Online Payments:**

3. **Settings Access:** Go to Settings > Services & Add-ins.

4. **Enable Features:** Ensure both Bookings and Online Payments are turned on.

**Locating Bookings in Business Apps Free:**

5. **Check Locations:** If Bookings isn't under Office 365, check under Business Apps Free or verify through Billing & Purchase Services in classic view if necessary.

**Post-Portal Setup:**

6. **Access Bookings Portal:** Go to bookings.office.com and sign in.

7. **Verify Payments Option:** Confirm that the Payments option appears in the bottom left, indicating it's enabled for your territory.

**Setting Up Merchant Account via Stripe or PayPal:**

8. **Complete Business Info:** Ensure all business information, including address and policies, is accurately filled out to avoid setup issues.

9. **Initiate Setup:** Click on 'Setup & Manage Merchant Account' to proceed with Stripe or PayPal.

**Using PayPal for Payments:**

10. **Upgrade to Business Account:** A Premier account isn't sufficient; you need a Business account. Follow prompts to upgrade, providing necessary information and accepting terms and permissions with Microsoft.

**Conclusion:**

If encountering issues, verify country availability or ensure all business information is correctly entered. For further assistance, contact support at www.uaex.edu.

PayPal so I'm gonna go to my PayPal account and it will prompt for my information I'm gonna grade this out so you can't hide this you can't see it but there we go and then it's going to tell me it's looking for a password which I will enter and then it's going to tell me that even though I have an upgraded user account instead of having just a basic user account with PayPal I have a premier account it's still not good enough I need to have a business account with PayPal okay so this is PayPal's business account and they used to be three types there are now two standards and pro and you can see here with this includes but basically it's the same as a standard account that's a two point nine percent for the basic for the standard account I should say and really the only difference that for most people is this when you use the paid service you can tie it directly into your website that doesn't they do not have to get kicked over to the PayPal website this is also a nice feature being able to take payments by phone but regardless for most people the standard free account is sufficient so in my case I do not want it to upgrade my account to a business counsel I'm not going to do that but if I did I would simply click upgrade and it will ask for some core information and at that point I have to check the box to confirm that I've read everything the PayPal is interested in and I need to give Microsoft permission as well and then you just simply click agree and continue and we will flow through and you'll be able to finish off setting up your payments with bookings that's it if you have any questions please give it all of us at www.uaex.edu bye byegood day and welcome to our explanation of how to set up payments and Microsoft bookings Microsoft bookings will process money through service called stripe and will also take it through PayPal now there are a number of hurdles to get through none of which are too challenging with the exception of the country currently payments are available in Canada the US and Mexico only it will be broadened out to the rest of global but shortly Microsoft has been saying coming soon and referring to soon being a few months for quite a few months now when people in Australia and you came with their EU particular are getting upset about it but the fact is it's not available right now so if you're in one of those jurisdictions payments simply will not work for you now we're gonna run through setting up bookings from scratch and we'll then show you how to do payments it's gonna be quite fast we have another video on how to use bookings and that's a separate it's a separate issue in this case we just want to show you how to get bookings turned on and how to get payments set up so first thing you want to do is go to your portal so you go to portal office comm and click the nine dot in the top left-hand corner and go to your main page so this assumes that you are an administrator then the next thing you want to do is go to settings and go to services and add-ins and you should see bookings here then what you need to do is make sure that bookings is turned on and enable online payments is turned on now we're going to go through this next the setup portion quite quickly so you can rewind the video if you need to because this is not the core function of this video the core functions video is to get payments working so now this is off by default so most people are gonna need to turn this on so take note of that now if you go into your users and you find particularly user does not have a bookings option available and I'm gonna show you that okay so bookings used to be listed under office 365 but it's been moved it's now under business apps free I'm going to show you this and welcome to go over this a little bit more detail in case you don't have that so what you need to do is expand business EPS free and you need to turn it on for the user in question now if you're missing this section here what you need to do is go to your Billings and purchase services and you need to make sure that you're in this classic view not in the new view so if it says if it doesn't say if it says anything other than try the preview in the top right hand corner you need gonna need to get out of there what you need to do is scroll through here until you find bookings I already have bookings so I can't add it but it's free so all you do is click on it add it you say you're gonna pay and asks for a credit card you don't have to give it a credit card you can also say use a P oh but it's zero dollars so it just goes to retakes it with an hour to process and you're on your way and then when you go back to your users you will see instead of being bookings as I said you will see our friend business apps here and business apps is where bookings is so that is the rough back-end that you need to get set up then once you have bookings enabled through the portal like this you can simply go to bookings office comm okay you signed in and you'll see payments is shown up in the bottom left which means that payments is a enabled and be available in my territory when you click on payments and that you can read through this but what it boils down to is you've got some setup to do so instead of a manage your merchant account really before you get through that I need to go into the business information module which is just this one here don't click this link over here just for fun okay so business address is 250 fifth Street Southwest Calgary there we go that's lovely my business and if you don't have that completed what will happen is you can click setup and manage your merchant account all day long and nothing will happen no error message no pop-up nothing very annoying so make sure you make sure you click the link to go to your business information then when you go back to payments once all of these fields and all of them are required including the terms and the privacy what you need to do is go to payments and then click setup and manage your merchant account and you can see that that text at the bottom here is now gone and that will take us off to a service provider and as I said earlier that's stripe or our friend mr. PayPal so I'm gonna go to my PayPal account and it will prompt for my information I'm gonna grade this out so you can't hide this you can't see it but there we go and then it's going to tell me it's looking for a password which I will enter and then it's going to tell me that even though I have an upgraded user account instead of having just a basic user account with PayPal I have a premier account it's still not good enough I need to have a business account with PayPal okay so this is PayPal's business account and they used to be three types there are now two standards and pro and you can see here with this includes but basically it's the same as a standard account that's a two point nine percent for the basic for the standard account I should say and really the only difference that for most people is this when you use the paid service you can tie it directly into your website that doesn't they do not have to get kicked over to the PayPal website this is also a nice feature being able to take payments by phone but regardless for most people the standard free account is sufficient so in my case I do not want it to upgrade my account to a business counsel I'm not going to do that but if I did I would simply click upgrade and it will ask for some core information and at that point I have to check the box to confirm that I've read everything the PayPal is interested in and I need to give Microsoft permission as well and then you just simply click agree and continue and we will flow through and you'll be able to finish off setting up your payments with bookings that's it if you have any questions please give it all of us at www.uaex.edu bye bye\n"
