**Upcycling and Decorating: A Home Makeover**
As I was cleaning out my room upstairs, I stumbled upon some old family heirlooms that I had kept for years, including an Italian vase from my childhood home. The vase, which dates back to longer than the 80s, holds a special place in my heart as it was one of my grandmother's favorite pieces, and she used to display it prominently in our kitchen. She would often tuck behind it fortune cookies that we would receive as gifts, and I loved listening to their fortunes when I was younger.
I also found an old key holder with a Tuscan element to it, which had been collecting dust on my shelf for years. The keys were on sale at Hobby Lobby, and after using a 50% off coupon, they cost me just $5. While browsing the aisles, I picked up some colorful decorative balls in various shapes and sizes, including a little sphere with a metal finish that caught my eye. However, upon closer inspection, I realized that this particular item wasn't on sale, so it ended up costing me around $6.
I decided to add two more pieces to my collection: identical vase-like decorations featuring white rope details and green floral patterns. These were purchased at Ross for an impressive $109 each, although I couldn't quite put my finger on why they resonated with me so much when I initially bought them. Despite some reservations about how the pieces might work together in the entryway, I felt drawn to their farmhouse style and wanted to incorporate them into my new design.
In addition to these decorative items, I also picked up a table lamp at home that featured twine and a wood base. This lamp seemed like it would complement the brown tones found in the vase and other pieces, but I wasn't entirely sure if the white rope details would translate well to the overall look. The lamp itself was part of a larger purchase that included separate components for the shade and base, which added to the overall cost.
**The Future of My Entryway Makeover**
As I continue to plan my entryway makeover, I'm excited to see how these new pieces will come together to create a cohesive design. While some elements might not quite fit as expected, I'm confident that they will all work together to create a unique and inviting space. In the coming weeks, I'll be incorporating seasonal decor, including fall leaves, Thanksgiving-themed items, and Christmas decorations, which will allow me to see how this makeover takes shape over time.
I've also been pondering the addition of a mirror to my entryway, but I haven't quite figured out where it would fit in yet. Perhaps with some careful planning and experimentation, I'll be able to incorporate this final piece into my design seamlessly. For now, I'm just excited to share my progress with all of you and see how this makeover unfolds over the coming weeks and months.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys so today's haul is gonna be a little bit more vlog style in the fact of just kind of how I'm holding the camera so I'm not gonna actually set you guys in a tripod today but I'm gonna share with you a huge home decor haul mostly for this entryway right here I want to completely make this over yet again I feel like since I've been on this YouTube wave I have been making over my entryway the most out of anything in my house it's pretty much my entryway and my bedroom let me know in the comments on what room or section of your house that you tend to do the same thing with and you just keep redecorating it over and over for me personally it's not that I get tired of something it's that I haven't quite figured out what exactly that I want so I will say to date this by far is my favorite entryway that I've that I've done now I'm sorry excuse the lighting but um it's a rainy day so but like I said today it is one of my favorites that I've ever done but I am gonna be making it over and now let's go ahead and jump into the hall so I laid it out like this just so that's something that is so big and it will just really help for you guys to see what I got so these two pieces I got at Hobby Lobby they were having a sale I truly only ever buy things at Hobby Lobby when they are on sale so I thought this these two pieces were gorgeous and what I love about it is I feel like it has a combination of farmhouse and Tuscan which is really the two style elements that I'm trying to go for yeah I really love it and that's gonna go in the entryway so stay tuned click subscribe hit the bell so that whenever this I makeover this entryway you'll know when that video is up okay let's just kind of move on and I know there's a lot going on here let's actually take a step over here this is a dorm room stuff so not everything is for the entryway I got this for my daughter and as you can see it spins it's really pretty her theme is white with gold accents so when I found this I was like are you kidding me she could put her makeup brushes in here it was $9.99 or she could put it you know in her desk area put her pins and highlighters and pencils and things like that in here she can see there's four really large compartments it's really cute and then I got her this little wood tray also has great compartments I send her pictures of all this and she really loved it she was also going for like that would that would look almost this farmhouse style has some cute little legs there so it'll be interesting to see how she utilizes this piece this piece I got at the at-home store which if you don't know is a huge super store and I showed her this picture she loved it has the orange color that's her favorite it's like this sherbert e pastel orange and it has that bohemian look to it with the little tassels the only thing is that the chain is silver but that's okay we're not trying to be overly matchy-matchy so we got that and then this is the bigger piece for her desk as you can see there's a bunch of really fun compartments here for her to organize here's a little drawer a little space for whatever papers etc and just so you can kind of see how deep that is and I think it was me look for the price here I believe yeah it was $20 $19.99 so I thought that was a pretty good steal I don't know why my camera's not autofocusing sorry about that and then this piece here which it's kind of hard to see with so much stuff in the background this is also for her I also got at the at-home store it's just this really cool piece it's just a work of gold metal and yeah so the bottom has that would look and then it was $17.99 so I thought that was really great she loved it she thinks it's completely cute so this will probably end up on her desk someway somehow now behind here is this lamp and this lamp is not new I actually have owned this lamp for a very long time but I pulled it out anyway because I may be using it and my entryway makeover I may not but I'm thinking of giving it a makeover just in general I don't like the cherry wood color of this maybe I could spray paint it I don't know what would happen with this leather the leather little things so I'm not sure but it has that Tuscan vibe and if you've been with me for a long time then you've seen this candle before and I actually got it at at like a garage a garage sale same thing with this piece right here I've had it for a really long time but I'm just trying to show you guys how this is what I'm trying to do I'm trying to bring I'm trying to bring in elements that look like this and then combine it with farmhouse so we'll see if this particular piece works it may not but I already own this piece and I also got it at a garage sale same thing with this guy right here it's been in some of my older videos I recently cleaned out an upstairs closet and that's where I pulled all of these pieces from trying to repurpose other decor and I am trying to bring the fort fleur-de-lys back into the element I really love this piece and I figured this is kind of like what was missing in my decor I need some new candles I don't really like the little green things I think I'm gonna do maybe some battery operated candles or something like that so that's this is all from from upstairs tucked away from previous decor I next up is this gorgeous gorgeous piece right here it's actually two pieces I got this at the at-home store here is that farmhouse element it is just look how huge this is and I paid $24.99 for this I paid a little bit more than I wanted to but I feel like at Hobby Lobby I could have probably had like a coupon or something but I've not havin seen anything like this at Hobby Lobby and I really liked it so I went ahead and picked it up and I got these gorgeous sunflowers that are white oh my goodness they're just stunning and this was part of the summer floral at the at home which was 50% off so this was like 12 bucks which I thought was cheap already and then it ended up being $6 and I actually like it just like this in the can and I love how it has the yellow it has the green which are all colors and my color palette and I feel like it will look really nice I do have to cut them and reorganize them because they just they're not falling correctly but I just just looking at it like this I really already love it alright let's travel back over here so these I got at Hobby Lobby however I'm wondering if I need to trade these back in for white they had these in a white option but I don't know it's just gonna be I think once I get everything together that's when I'll kind of know and I am trying to go for an entryway that has a floral aspect to it which brings me to this I found this gorgeous thing and then that's when I figured out okay I want I want flowers and has that farmhouse look with that 10 aspect fresh flower market seed stems blooms and it was on clearance so 1699 which I thought was already a great price but the clearance mark meant 50% off so that was an amazing deal what like eight bucks ish so I'm super excited it has the green has this really interesting green almost teal look to it so that's why I was just kind of like I don't know if that's gonna be right but we'll we'll figure that out and then here are these gorgeous pieces I have to show you these next so just so you can kind of see this and the cameras and picking up the perfect color of what it really is but I also got this up the at home store was $12.99 and their little candle holders not little but they are candle holders and then I got this one which is a combination of two I love that washed look brings in the farmhouse I love the metal top and then I think I'm gonna put some really big chunky battery operated candles so they had some of those at the at-home store the ones I ordered from Amazon are really tall and thin I need some bigger round ones so I'm gonna go on Amazon and see if I can get some cheaper ones and then those are gonna just like I said hold some candles and so that at night I can just take a battery and it will look really it'll set the the tone and the ambiance and really beautiful lighting okay so what do I show you guys next you're probably wondering about this piece here this is actually a piece from my childhood home growing up with my grandparents it's an Italian and you guys this has been around since longer than the 80s and I was lucky enough to get one on this piece and I found it again cleaning out my room upstairs and I'm gonna go ahead and install this in my kitchen and that's where it was when I was growing up my grandmother had this hung up in the kitchen and she used to tuck behind this used to tuck all of the what do you call it the Chinese fortune cookies that we would get like all of her little fortune cookie things she would put tuck behind there so anyway just wanted to show you guys that and then I have this this is also old as well I found it upstairs while I was cleaning and it says keys and then you'll kind of see what's interesting is I found this after I had picked these out which how ironic is is that has that Tuscan element to it but also slightly farmhouse to just with the colours for me anything that's kind of cream I feel like is really complementary and metal is complementary to farmhouse and then I found these gorgeous keys they were on sale at Hobby Lobby and let's see this was $9.99 but it was 50% off so it's 5 bucks and it may end up in the entryway we'll see not entirely sure but that is why I got this and then here is a colored one so you get all of these really fun colors these two are colors in my color palette so I'm like I'm not so sure this may end up going back I do have blue and my color palette but this isn't the right blue it was $7.99 so 50% off it was $4 so we'll see that again may end up going back and then I picked up one of these decorative balls little spheres and it's metal but this was not on sale $6.99 but I used a 40% off coupon so whatever that ended up being $4 ish somewhere in that ballpark alright the next two pieces are identical I got them at Ross and you can see the white the rope detail farmhouse and then it's the green so I want a lot of green and a lot of floral but it'll be interesting to see if I'm able to rope these two pieces into my entryway or not because I feel like the floral will make sense but these are more like bushes I don't know so I'm not sure how this is going to work out I thought the price was pretty good they were 1099 you can't really see that but they were 1099 at Ross again and yeah so when I originally bought it I bought it for the entryway and then back there is the lamp which unfortunately I'm not gonna unpack it but just so you can kind of see what it looks like here I paid 50 $4.99 but it was the whole piece and when you go to at home and even a lot of other stores they sell it all separately the base the shade and then you have to get the the other assembly pieces to put the shade on the base there so you know buying one lamp like that at at home kind of being a hundred dollars and this was everything for $54.99 plus I thought that it would do really well with all this stuff and it's a natural table lamp this is actually twine so it's not showing you the true color on here but it's twine and then it has a wood base so in the twine is you know a brown color so we'll see if that even works well I thought that the brown in the lamp we're looking pull in this brown and then I'm trying to also pull in the white to match those so as you can kind of get an idea of what I'm trying to do here and that's it for today's haul thank you guys so much for watching I hope that you enjoyed seeing all the things that I purchased to redo this entryway makeover and I'm very very excited I can't wait to see what it looks like just I'm gonna style it like an everyday style and then it's gonna be interesting to see once I put fall stuff into it how that's gonna look and then Thanksgiving and Christmas so I'm really excited about this makeover here the only thing I haven't quite figured out is
