Reducing Your iPhone Screen Brightness Beyond Stock Levels: A Handy Trick
The screen brightness trick is a technique that allows you to reduce the screen brightness beyond what iOS allows you to do in Control Center or via the Settings app. This trick is especially useful for individuals who spend a lot of time reading in dark environments, as it can help reduce eye strain and make it easier on the eyes.
To access this trick, you need to go through the Accessibility settings in the stock Settings app. First, open up the Settings app and then tap the General section. Next, tap on Accessibility, and finally, tap where it says Zoom. Turn the zoom switch on, and then you will see the zoom window. You want to triple tap with three fingers on the screen, like this: 1-2-3. Then, you will see a little overlay.
Now, you need to tap on where it says Full Screen Zoom so that you can just tap full screen zoom and use your little slider at the bottom to zoom all the way out. After that, tap Choose Filter, and then tap Low Light. Now, you should be able to see the screen brightness reduce. What we need to do next is just tap out of the overlay.
As a bonus feature, go back one level in accessibility and tap Accessibility Shortcut. Then, choose Zoom now so that this will assign our shortcut to a triple press of the home button. When you triple press the home button, it invokes the filter on the full screen zoom, even though the zoom level isn't actually changed, but only the brightness is reduced beyond what's possible via Control Center or Settings.
Now, let's put this into practice. We'll invoke the shortcut by triple pressing the home button in a bright room. You can barely see the screen because it's so dim that you can barely even see it. However, when we're in a dark setting and use our shortcut, it makes a huge difference. The reduction really does make a difference, as the screen looks much brighter here than normal brightness mode.
In normal mode with the brightness all the way down, this is what it looks like. As you can see, even though the brightness is turned all the way down, it's still quite bright in this dark room. But when we use our shortcut, which is triple pressing of the home button, now the screen is much easier on the eyes, as you can just tell that it's helping out a lot.
This handy trick is especially useful for individuals who spend time reading in dark environments. While it might seem counterintuitive to read in such settings, if you must do so, using this trick will help reduce eye strain and make it much easier on the eyes than reading without any brightness reduction at all.

everyone knows about it so I want to talk about it again the screen brightness trick basically allows you to reduce the screen brightness beyond what iOS allows you to do in control center or via the settings app here is the lowest brightness and although it looks really really dim here in this bright room when you're in a dark setting it looks really bright and it kind of blinds your eyes a little bit so wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to reduce the brightness beyond what was allowed in control center or the settings app well actually there is a way and it can be done by the accessibility settings in the stock Settings app so I'm going to show you right now how to do this this is actually really easy if you just follow along exactly like I show you so first thing just open up the settings app and then tap the general section and then tap accessibility and then tap where it says Zoom Zoom now turn the zoom switch on and then you'll see the zoom window now you want to triple tap with three fingers on the screen like this so 1 2 3 then you'll see this little overlay here now you want to tap on where it says full screen zoom so just tap full screen zoom and then use your little slider at the bottom to zoom all the way out and then tap choose filter and then tap low light and now you see the screen brightness reduce so now what we need to do is just tap out of the overlay and I'm going to crank up the brightness a little bit cuz it's a little dim with this new reduction now we're going to go back one level in accessibility then go down to accessibility shortcut tap it and then choose Zoom now this will assign our shortcut to a triple press of the home button so when I triple press the home button it invokes the filter on the full screen zoom we're zoomed all the way out so the zoom level isn't actually changed but the filter is reducing brightness beyond what is possible via control center or the settings app so when I triple press you see the screen brightness reduce it triple press again goes back to normal going to swipe up and uh reduce via control center the brightness now this is normal mode with the brightness all the way down but see what happens when I invoke that shortcut now you can barely even see the screen because we're in a bright room now it's so dim you can barely see it but you'll notice that when we're in the dark it's going to help out a lot so let's go over to a dark setting here so I can really show you how this thing works all right so we're in a dark room now I'm just going to swipe over triple press and you can see the screen reduction really does make a difference it looks really bright here that's actually the lowest setting with normal brightness set if I turn it all the way up obviously it's blinding but I'm going to turn it all the way down but this is normal brightness mode and see it's still fairly bright in this dark room but if I use our shortcut the triple press of the home button ah now it's much more easier on the eyes so that is why this handy shortcut is so nice folks when you're reading in the dark which you probably shouldn't be doing anyway but if you're going to do it use this little trick it's much easier on your eyes your eyes will than you let me know what you guys think Down Below in the comments section this is Jeff with 9 to-5 Machow to reduce your iPhone
