Air Coolers: A Comprehensive Guide to the Helion Series

The air cooler market is a vast and complex landscape, with numerous brands and models vying for attention. One such brand that stands out from the rest is Siltronix, whose products are often compared to those of other reputable companies. In this article, we will delve into the world of air coolers, specifically focusing on the Helion series by Siltronix.

The Helion Series: A Premium Line of Air Coolers

The Helion series is a premium line of air coolers that boasts some of the coolest (pun intended) designs in the market. The name "Helion" is derived from the fact that liquid helium has the lowest temperature of all the elements used in these air coolers. This makes them ideal for cooling systems that require extremely low temperatures.

The Helion series consists of three different models: Nitron, Argon, and Helion (also known as Heligel). The names are a combination of the word "nitrogen" (NT), "argon" (AR), and "helium" (H) with numbers indicating the model number. For example, NT01 is the first model of the Nitron series, followed by NZ02, and so on.

Each model has its unique characteristics, such as cooling capacity, fan size, and mounting system. The Nitron series is designed for LGA 1155/1156/1151 CPUs, while the Argon series is suitable for other socket types. The Helion series is also available in various configurations to suit different needs.

The Nitron Series: A Mid-Range Option

The Nitron series is a mid-range option that offers a balance between cooling capacity and affordability. These air coolers use nitrogen as the coolant, which has a lower boiling point than liquid helium or argon. This makes them suitable for most gaming PCs that don't require extreme cooling.

The Nitron series includes various models, such as NT0815 XP, which indicates that it is designed for LGA 1155 CPUs with PWM fans. The "XP" in this model number stands for push-pin mounting system, while the "X" refers to the Intel socket type. This means that the air cooler is compatible with most Intel-based systems.

The Argon Series: A High-End Option

The Argon series is a high-end option that offers superior cooling performance and aesthetics. These air coolers use argon as the coolant, which has an even lower boiling point than nitrogen. This makes them ideal for extreme gaming PCs or systems that require heavy cooling.

Like the Nitron series, the Argon series includes various models, such as AR0815 XP, which is designed for LGA 1155 CPUs with push-pin mounting system and PWM fans. The "XP" in this model number indicates that it is a high-end option, while the "X" refers to the Intel socket type.

Fans: A Crucial Component of Air Coolers

Air coolers rely on fans to dissipate heat from the CPU or GPU. There are several types of fans used in air coolers, including AP, FQ, FW, FM, and Raven o02 (air penetrator fan). Each fan has its unique characteristics, such as cooling capacity, speed range, and mounting system.

For example, the AP fan is a well-known brand that offers high-quality fans with PWM control. The FQ fan is designed for quiet operation, while the FW fan is suitable for general use. The FM fan, on the other hand, has manual control, allowing users to adjust the speed manually.

The Raven o02 air penetrator fan is another notable example of a fan that uses a specialized grill design to focus airflow into a single column. This results in improved cooling performance and reduced noise levels.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Helion series by Siltronix offers a range of high-quality air coolers that cater to different needs and budgets. From the Nitron series for mid-range users to the Argon series for extreme gamers, there is an air cooler to suit everyone's requirements. The fans used in these air coolers are equally impressive, offering various options with unique characteristics.

Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just starting out, understanding the different types of air coolers and their features can help you make informed decisions when choosing the right cooling solution for your system.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everybody we are at the Silverstone booth now I am joined by Tony O I worked with Tony for several years he is with Silverstone he a marketing manager and he's the perfect person to explain all the names for me because when I asked hey what are the letters and numbers and your names mean he handed me this before getting to that this coverage is brought to you by Corsair and their new T1 race gaming chair which is a bucket style gaming seat and that chair cost $350 you can find a link in the description below for more information so we've got a rule book for the names but I figured it' probably be good to run through it on video so uh Tony let's where do we want to start want let's let's start with the air coolers sure so with air coolers we have three different names uh they are the hon nitron and argon so we sort of have a combination wording so uh we found out I guess through Wikipedia that the liquid helium has the lowest temperature of the three elements that we chose so that's lowest temperatur is um hel liquid helium liquid n nitrogen and then liquid argon so as you you can tell we give the premium line of air cooler to the hill heligon Series so that's helium plus gone so shape of helium okay so then the middle ground middle series is the nitrogen the shape of nitrogen is a nitron on all G is already G so that that fits perfectly so that's how it came out with the name of all three series okay so nitron argon heligon or heligon here yeah not here at the show yeah so it's it's they're older models but they're the the top of the line they're not they're old so they're not at the compu Tex right now so okay but there's more to the name than that so uh nitron all right so nitrogen nt9 115x what does that mean well after well the NT stands for nitron obviously so that's uh argon's AR short AR's short for Argon right uh so for helon there's the h e so the number that comes afterwards they're just um you know the first model will be named uh 01 so the first model of NT is nt01 second model will be NZ 02 two so on and so forth okay so that's easy to understand and what comes after The Hyphen 115x that means it's a CPU Cooler designed for the LGA 1155 1156 1151 5 Etc okay so socket type then for Intel for the 115x so the x is part of the socket type what about X so it gets more complicated as we go NT 08115 XP what does that mean right so let's move actually there a better example here we have two of them so here we have the AR coolers so if you can look closely this is the uh XS did you just reference your name card no yeah yeah sort of but you can tell from this this is a screw type mounting system so s for screw push pin for p so that's XP it's very easy to to see Xs and XP okay okay so the x is is part of the Intel socket type the p is the push pin for Intel yeah okay and S is just a screw screw yeah screw mounting yeah okay uh all right so we got the coolers I think that gets us through the first half of the book oh there's one more Tundra but I guess we won't even need to talk about this just Tundra because it's a liquid cooler and it's a different line uh what about the the fans so AP fq FW and then the size are like obviously this wants to be 120 mm but you've gone 1 mm too far uh that's correct uh so 12 stands for 120 mm uh 9 stands for 92 8 that's very easy to understand the number that comes after that first set of uh numbers is the model uh so this is the third 92 mimet fence in that Series so this is the FW 121 so that's the first 120 mm fan of the FW Series so you can kind of tell uh here you have fq for example so this is the second model of the fq Series 120 mm fan but what is what is fq mean uh for this one fq means is fan for quietness so that's very easy to understand and FW is f with pwm this one here is FM m stands for manual control so that means you can adjust the speed on the fans manually and AP is one of our more uh famous uh air penetrator fans so that's so that didn't start off the F because that's a complet different uh design concept yeah yeah I think I remember the air penetrators in the uh Raven o02 right yeah so those are the ones with this specially designed grill that focuses the air flow into a more uh single column so that it pushes the air farther into your case for very effective cooling very cool so there's plenty more Silverstone naming to go around maybe next time we'll look at the cases like the red line the Kuai the uh Fortress Raven yeah there's more red line yeah Precision Primera they're they're getting better with it they're going with names that are uh easier to pronounce so that is all for this one as always you can subscribe for more patreon.com Gamers help us out directly Tony
