MacOS Ventura Continuity Camera is a GAME CHANGING feature (use your iPhone as your webcam!)

The World of Apple Leaks and Rumors

As we sit here talking about all things Apple, our first super chat comes to mind - a feature that allows fans to pay for their comments to be highlighted in the chat. I'm going to read this out as is, because you can see it's a little controversial, but let's dive into what Rapido 20 has to say.

Rapido 20 asks why Proster and Sam, two of the most prolific leakers, haven't admitted they were wrong over months with dozens of vids featuring Apple devices with white bezels and pastel colors. The comment highlights how there have been so many rumors floating around that it's been hard to keep track. However, Rapido 20 feels like they can generally talk about what has happened in the Apple ecosystem when it comes to leakers.

They express that because there have been fewer leaks than usual, it makes it harder for content creators to put out interesting content. People just want to hear about the newest iPhone, which is a common topic among leakers. Rapido 20 believes that this has led to people becoming more free-form in their interpretation of what they think Apple will release next. They know that creating an interesting render will draw in viewers.

However, these renders often rely on rumors that lack concrete information and are therefore not accurate. The render creators, like Ian Zobo, are talented artists who create hyper-realistic mock-ups that look beautiful. But people aren't interested in them; they just click on them to get created. This cycle creates a situation where leakers are motivated to create renders based on rumors that may never be true.

Moving on to our next super chat, which comes from Deadliest. It's a simple "hello" with no real comment, but it does have a Day One Gov Club badge. The user wants to show their appreciation for everything and is grateful for the content created by Louis.

Finally, we have a Day One Gov Club member who wishes to remain anonymous. Their comment starts off well, but ultimately becomes nonsensical towards the end. It's clear that they were trying to create a humorous tone, but it falls flat.

A final shoutout to our super chat subscribers who are supporting us on this journey. Keep an eye out for more surprises and exclusive content as we continue to explore the world of Apple leaks and rumors.

In other news, Louis has been playing around with the new Continuity Camera feature that was released alongside iOS 16. This feature allows for virtually no lag at all, making it almost a real-time camera experience. When using this feature, the image captured on your iPhone is almost exactly what you see on your Mac's screen.

The Continuity Camera works seamlessly, with Louis noticing very little to no lag while moving his hands around. The image quality is impressive, capturing every detail accurately without any noticeable delay. This feature has the potential to revolutionize how we work and interact with our devices, making it easier than ever to capture high-quality images on both iPhone and Mac.

As we continue to explore the world of Apple leaks and rumors, one thing becomes clear: these renders may not be entirely accurate, but they do serve as a fascinating glimpse into what's to come. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just curious about the latest developments in the tech world, there's always something new and exciting waiting around the corner.

But before we move on, let's take a moment to appreciate the creativity and dedication of render creators like Ian Zobo. Their work may not be entirely accurate, but it does add an element of excitement and anticipation to our lives as Apple enthusiasts. Whether you love or hate renders, they're certainly an interesting aspect of the Apple ecosystem.

And that's all for now. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of [Show Name], where we dive into the world of Apple leaks and rumors. Join us next time as we explore more exciting topics in the tech world.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enlet's talk about another feature that i thought was really quite mind-blowing to be honest with you and and and very progressive of apple and something that is sorely needed in today's age of uh of um remote work and that is continuity camera what was your alternative headline on this uh oh yeah continuity camera admits macbook cameras need help who wrote that was that you i i don't oh no that came from the story oh okay that's yeah i guess the most excellent cultivated that no it was a it was a sub header from the story i see yeah yeah uh honestly when they showed this i i actually thought it was like one of the put-ons that they used sometimes i thought it was a joke like they were i thought it was a iphone taped to a mac or something it does it it is so zany that it does kind of seem like they were trolling us huh yeah i i really thought it was a joke anyway uh let's talk about what it is i suppose continuity camera it's a new feature coming in ios 16 and mac os ventura and it's basically going to turn the iphone into a webcam for the mac when you start or join a video call from your mac your computer will sense if your iphone is nearby and is available to serve as a webcam assuming it is your mac automatically been streaming video directly from your phone's rear camera to your video calling software and uh they had who belkin and they said i think they said belkin and other people make are going to make these like i just heard belkin yeah attachments that that attach your iphone to the top or you know screen of your mac which honestly looks bizarre um they say that it's you know it's not just facetime it's going to work with uh microsoft teams webex and other uh video conferencing software i mean anything that can access your webcam i think yeah and i don't know if did we not leave did we not get this into the story i mean one of the wildest things about that is that it can show your desktop at the same time it's like two webcams right wait say that again it could show your desktop oh right yeah and that's which is freaky that was kind of a weird additional feature i i don't know why you would use that feature so for those of you that didn't catch it the um in continuity camera mode they demoed this ability for the ultra wide camera to basically show the deck of your uh your your mac that it the phone is attached to and like your hands and everything so people can actually desk not the computer desktop yeah yeah so yeah so it's like it's like a top-down view of your workspace which is a really cool feature i just i was trying to i was trying to envision like how you would use this like as a as a youtube creator it might be useful to do something like that so that you could show what's on your desk but like if you're in like a team's meeting or something why would you i mean unless you're jeffrey toobin come on don't make people unless you're trying to go unless you're trying to go full tubing oh no let me just tell you never go full tubing no i mean imagine if he had this feature he'd be in prison the uh i mean if you think about it like if let's say you're a uh a food blogger or uh you know somebody who's like doing uh recipe videos i mean it's perfect show yourself dicing uh onions i i couldn't i i don't know i was kind of i can't even imagine yet how it actually works how it can get both that and your face at the same time it seems shocking well i mean it's kind of like a 360 camera i don't know if you ever used 360 camera i i doubt you probably ever have no i never have they have like these super ultra wide angles and and then they use software to basically stitch the two different cameras on both sides of the camera unit together to create like a 360 image and uh and so they're basically able to even though the plane of the camera is um well how do i how do i describe this when you're holding the camera in your hand if it's if it's looking uh forward you can basically see your feet down at the bottom because the camera is just so wide and that must be what they have going on here and then they use software right to to to de-skew it so it looks like a normal image because otherwise it'd be all crazy and like bent like i just thought that was a wild wild feature yeah me too and i i'm still like not totally sure how people are going to use it uh i mean if you're an educator maybe there'd be like a reason to actually there you go if you're an educator and you're like doing like a math problem or something and you're writing something down and you want to show people what you're doing like that could be useful how about this you're a tech podcaster and you want to show somebody an apple watch there you go oh which apple watch mode which we have proved on this show is impossible to do it it's impossible to show someone the face of your apple watch while you're wearing your watch so now you just can't you just hold it out right in front of you yeah everyone could see it i mean it's if nothing else it's perfect for that okay we're we're thinking small here this is a map this is a massive feature okay so not not only does it do all the stuff that we just said but but now you have a portable camera that you could take away from your mac or detach from your mac in place probably somewhere within the realm of where you are so if you want a better camera angle you'll be able to do that so that makes it huge right not to mention until i'd say in the last two years apple's webcams have been horrendous truly pieces of garbage i mean it's unbelievable to me that i have a a like a four thousand dollar macbook pro and the webcam looks like something from the the mid-aughts right that is truly embarrassing and it took it took kovid and everyone the shift in in in work from everyone in the office to everyone at home for apple to finally finally change that and so you have you you have i'm going to guess 80 of the macs out there have really terrible webcams and and what apple has essentially done is allow you to bypass those horrible webcams with one of the best webcams on the market today so this is a huge feature and i think it's going to get used by tons and tons of people and i know that the the iphone has to be within the vicinity of the mac in order for the feature to be active but i'm going to guess you could be within like a few feet right maybe maybe even farther outs and so you could literally just place your camera or your phone wherever you want and then be in a meeting be in a facetime call and have a really beautiful picture so i think that's a massively practical practical feature it's one that i'll probably use all the time because you know i don't have any nice webcams on any of my uh portable macs yeah well that i'll tell you that was definitely one of the things you're like wow that is not something that i thought of you know i was completely surprised by it up to the point of like is this even a joke i can't believe it louis live here on the show we have our first super chat which i forgot that i even enabled do you even know what a super chat is lewis i don't know should i be worried super chat allows uh your your uh many fans to pay to insult you like i'm joking so a super chat is a youtube feature that allows people to pay money and then their comment like gets highlighted in the um in the chat so that you can see it and i'm going to read this this is from rapido 20. now i didn't write this comment so i'm going to just read it as is i can see i can see it's a little it's um it's a little controversial but i'm still going to read it uh this is from rapido 20 he says why haven't proster and sam the two most prolific leakers admit they were wrong over know that at creating an interesting render is going to bring people in and oftentimes those renders are based off of rumors that don't have a ton of information and so they're left to extrapolate there's a lot of extrapolating going on out there and so i think you end up with situations where people are pushing renders because the renders draw people in but the renders are not accurate and they were never accurate even though they make for interesting visual fodder because if you don't have a renderer it's hard to it's hard to talk about something people don't want to hear you just talk
