TV Generations I could not be more excited about the fourth generation Apple TV that just came out about a week ago about a week ago no David that has to die but seriously I am loving my new Apple TV it's not perfect it still has a little ways to go but I do have 10 things to talk about in today's video so well let's talk about them the first and most obvious one of all it has a fresh new user interface and user experience from the beautifully designed icons to the intuitive menus to a new way of controlling your Apple TV experience this new Apple TV in my opinion is the best one yet it simply feels like a new take on something we're already familiar with but something that's even better than previous iterations number two blazingly fast media playback I don't know how Apple does it perhaps it's the new Wi-Fi technology inside of the new Apple TV or just perhaps Apple is very smart about cashing the content before you actually play it but the new Apple TV guys the playback is pretty much instant especially when you compare it to the second gen and third gen Apple TVs seriously guys this is something you have to experience for yourself playback is pretty much instantaneous and I love it number three the Siri remote which just happens to be right here is a radical redesign of previous Apple remotes and it works very well it's not perfect it takes a little getting used to but as of today I am loving this remote and honestly it is quite dramatically changed my outlook on other remotes rather than pressing buttons over and over again why not do a simple swipe gesture it works beautifully and I'm really glad Apple went for a major redesign of something that we've been used to for years but they did it in a smart way that doesn't change it too dramatically number four voice search is awesome it still has a little ways to go in terms of perfection but voice search is truly awesome the fact that I can just say the office and it brings up the office on both iTunes and Netflix that's huge or find me movie starring Steve Carell find me TV shows starring Steve Carell show me some comedies show me trending movies show me action movies it really is very nice and it works quite well now unfortunately the Siri remotes and voice search they don't work hand inand in terms of Apple music and that's definitely something I want to see in the future but as of today this is definitely a great start with plenty of room to grow number five the App Store is impressively awesome especially considering it just launched now to be fair a good majority of these apps are based on existing iOS apps but for what it is the App Store on a TV it works pretty damn well okay so as of this video there are plenty of apps to choose from from media playback to games to Entertainment Games could fall under entertainment but that's the thing the App Store I believe already offers more than 1,000 apps and well to face the truth most of those apps are probably crap but at least we finally have an app store on our TV that's actually worth using the fact that I can just pick up crossy Road and play with family and friends with within seconds that's huge and well actually for proof of that check out this quick clip that I just happened to record the other night is this an app it yeah it's all running on on this little box right here I love it so much base watch out for the train go go go go you're doing so well best I did yeah this is what it's all about guys number six and this definitely stands out to graphic designers like myself The Parallax artwork is pure eye department number seven aerial screen savers are beautiful now I have always been a big fan of screen savers and while on my older Apple TV um I would normally use either photos that were taken on my iPhone and iPad or I would show the album artwork on iTunes or actually I believe it was movie posters either way though the screen savers were always okay on past Apple TVs but this new Apple TV just blows the other ones out of the water Apple actually took the time to set up aerial screen savers of what I believe to be drones going over major landmarks and cities and all that stuff from London to that the Ser remote now has built-in volume control that is a big deal it might not seem like a big deal but for someone like myself it is a big deal because guys believe me I often find myself requiring to change the Audio Level switching from apps like YouTube to Netflix and back to YouTube the volume level changes quite dramatically so the fact that I no longer have to put this down pick up my Harmon Card and receiver remote to Simply change the volume volume that's a big deal and finally number 10 tvos yes I'm actually choosing this as one of my top 10 things because it's a big deal
