It all started with a simple observation - our beloved cat, shoes, had a penchant for getting on clean white shoes. As for how to get into tech, I don't really know, but I do have a story that might shed some light on it. When shoes was a kitten, she'd always knock over my iPad that was sitting on a docking station. At first, I thought it was just the iPad, but one day, I decided to move it to a different location to see if she had a specific spot in mind. To my surprise, whenever we moved the iPad, shoes would find it and start knocking it over again. It seemed like she had an affinity for that space! From then on, I made sure to keep her favorite "tech corner" safe and sound.

Shoes has always been a tech lover at heart, even before she was officially dubbed the White Shoes mascot. I'm not sure what sparked this fascination, but it's clear that she's developed a taste for technology over time. the story of how did i meet white shoes so i'll tell you all that story real quick while white shoes over here while it out she's going crazy bruh anyway a couple of years ago maybe about 10 years ago i said a couple of years ago shoes is nine years old now okay so maybe about 13 years ago i looked you started listening closely 13 years ago i had another cat darius aka casino and at the time i was working two jobs i was out on the road all the time i didn't really have time to take care of that cat and i felt like i was neglecting them now one of my jobs i was working on an ambulance and i used to always go into this nursing home and i had one of these patients who we had a little relationship like we was mad cool she was about maybe like 90 years old she's always called me roberto clemente every time i walk through the door she's like robert jacomente roberto comente i didn't know who that was i had to google him and um some of the staff was like oh she think you look like roberto clemente all right so like cool so we had a little you know a little every time i brought a patient out of there i would stop and check on her and the staff told me that she really loved cats and she had a cat for like 10 years and passed away so i said okay is it okay if i donate my cat to her because i can't take care of that cat and they said no problem so i packed up casinos said my little goodbyes and dumped him off at the nursing home he was he was a fat cat anyway so fast forward a couple of years after that now i quit my ambulance job so i had a lot more free time i was in the house a lot more so i wanted to get another cat so i went to um the what you call the animal shelter and i took the deal for work i was like i'm getting a cat today my whole plan was to get a cat so i went to the animal shelter and they was like um yo you gotta fill out adoption papers it's gonna take like you know three weeks to get approved and all this and i'm like damn holy for a cat i was like nah i want a cat today that was like the best thing you could do is go on on craigslist and see if anybody had kittens i said okay cool so i went on craigslist and i found this crazy cat lady that lived in um uh what's uh rego park and she said she had about 40 kittens in the house right she was like an animal rescuer she said just come take as many as you want so i came through you know what i'm saying and she was definitely a crazy cat lady and she's living like a three bedroom apartment and two of those bedrooms was all cats like cages everywhere cats running around the whole set so she said pick a cat so i went to all the little kittens they all looked like shoes they were you could tell it was all from the same family they all tabby cats you know the grayish brown and white color like that they all had white shoes on so i said okay let me before i i didn't want to just pick one and leave i was like all right let me see if if i can find one that has a little personality but before i even got a chance to do that i reached my hand in the cage there was like about eight of them in that cage i reached my hand in the cage and seven of them all ran away they all ran scared to the corner except for this one she was just looking at me like yo what's up bro and meet me her making eye contact i'm like yo what up she's like yeah will you tell me i'm like bro you trying to ride out she was like yo let's go i'm out she's letting me get my bags i was like cool yeah you know what i'm saying so i picked up she ain't even flinch i was like oh this i like this cat i like it so i just i said i want this right here it was like that so i came i came home look at the cat in the house and you know when you first bring the cat in the house they scared so i put in the house i didn't see her for like two days like she only came out to eat and then she disappeared she was like hiding under the couch somewhere like i couldn't find her so i'm like give her a chance to get comfortable you know let her learn her surroundings so i don't i usually don't name my cats until i get to know them like any pet that i have i don't just give them a name i gotta see their personality she you know see what fits them so i if you notice around her neck she has a when i first got her they said the day i got it it says cat because it i didn't have a name for it just called her cat so i said cool so i'm gonna just call you cat until to you grow into your personality so she kept hiding i never seen her and then one night i'm in the bed i'm watching 300 that's one of my favorite movies so i'm watching 300 and all of a sudden i just see a little kid creeping through the door and just chill i'm like okay look i'm gonna scare her off just chill then she jumped on the desk and she just focused watching the movie with me so i'm like okay i said i said you you like this movie too so now i gotta give you a name out of this movie so i started just randomly saying names to see if i get a response from her and when i said xerxes she was like yeah i was like that's a sign i was like i said that's gonna be your name you sure i was like xerxes yeah oh okay that's your new name so that's our name xerxes then um how did the name white shoes come about basically y'all gave her that name not me um after after she started popping up in the videos somebody was like yo you ever noticed your cat got on some clean white shoes like she got off some clean air force ones and i was like oh i just i never i've never really looked at it to notice like oh dude i don't like shoes i was like i like that little nickname white shoes white shoes and then i was chilling one day with my girl and she was like yo you ever heard the song pete the cat the white shoes i was like nah so she was like she played the song i was like wow this is this gotta be your theme song so that's how we came up with the white shoes theme song now as far as how to choose get into tech i don't know but i do have i do have one story i had an ipad or my desk when she was a kitten i had an ipad on a little docking station and for some reason she would just always come and knock it over and then chill on the ipad so i the story of how did i meet white shoes so i'll tell you all that story real quick while white shoes over here while it out she's going crazy bruh anyway a couple of years ago maybe about 10 years ago i said a couple of years ago shoes is nine years old now okay so maybe about 13 years ago i looked you started listening closely 13 years ago i had another cat darius aka casino and at the time i was working two jobs i was out on the road all the time i didn't really have time to take care of that cat and i felt like i was neglecting them now one of my jobs i was working on an ambulance and i used to always go into this nursing home and i had one of these patients who we had a little relationship like we was mad cool she was about maybe like 90 years old she's always called me roberto clemente every time i walk through the door she's like robert jacomente roberto comente i didn't know who that was i had to google him and um some of the staff was like oh she think you look like roberto clemente all right so like cool so we had a little you know a little every time i brought a patient out of there i would stop and check on her and the staff told me that she really loved cats and she had a cat for like 10 years and passed away so i said okay is it okay if i donate my cat to her because i can't take care of that cat and they said no problem so i packed up casinos said my little goodbyes and dumped him off at the nursing home he was he was a fat cat anyway so fast forward a couple of years after that now i quit my ambulance job so i had a lot more free time i was in the house a lot more so i wanted to get another cat so i went to um the what you call the animal shelter and i took the deal for work i was like i'm getting a cat today my whole plan was to get a cat so i went to the animal shelter and they was like um yo you gotta fill out adoption papers it's gonna take like you know three weeks to get approved and all this and i'm like damn holy for a cat i was like nah i want a cat today that was like the best thing you could do is go on on craigslist and see if anybody had kittens i said okay cool so i went on craigslist and i found this crazy cat lady that lived in um uh what's uh rego park and she said she had about 40 kittens in the house right she was like an animal rescuer she said just come take as many as you want so i came through you know what i'm saying and she was definitely a crazy cat lady and she's living like a three bedroom apartment and two of those bedrooms was all cats like cages everywhere cats running around the whole set so she said pick a cat so i went to all the little kittens they all looked like shoes they were you could tell it was all from the same family they all tabby cats you know the grayish brown and white color like that they all had white shoes on so i said okay let me before i i didn't want to just pick one and leave i was like all right let me see if if i can find one that has a little personality but before i even got a chance to do that i reached my hand in the cage there was like about eight of them in that cage i reached my hand in the cage and seven of them all ran away they all ran scared to the corner except for this one she was just looking at me like yo what's up bro and meet me her making eye contact i'm like yo what up she's like yeah will you tell me i'm like bro you trying to ride out she was like yo let's go i'm out she's letting me get my bags i was like cool yeah you know what i'm saying so i picked up she ain't even flinch i was like oh this i like this cat i like it so i just i said i want this right here it was like that so i came i came home look at the cat in the house and you know when you first bring the cat in the house they scared so i put in the house i didn't see her for like two days like she only came out to eat and then she disappeared she was like hiding under the couch somewhere like i couldn't find her so i'm like give her a chance to get comfortable you know let her learn her surroundings so i don't i usually don't name my cats until i get to know them like any pet that i have i don't just give them a name i gotta see their personality she you know see what fits them so i if you notice around her neck she has a when i first got her they said the day i got it it says cat because it i didn't have a name for it just called her cat so i said cool so i'm gonna just call you cat until to you grow into your personality so she kept hiding i never seen her and then one night i'm in the bed i'm watching 300 that's one of my favorite movies so i'm watching 300 and all of a sudden i just see a little kid creeping through the door and just chill i'm like okay look i'm gonna scare her off just chill then she jumped on the desk and she just focused watching the movie with me so i'm like okay i said i said you you like this movie too so now i gotta give you a name out of this movie so i started just randomly saying names to see if i get a response from her and when i said xerxes she was like yeah i was like that's a sign i was like i said that's gonna be your name you sure i was like xerxes yeah oh okay that's your new name so that's our name xerxes then um how did the name white shoes come about basically y'all gave her that name not me um after after she started popping up in the videos somebody was like yo you ever noticed your cat got on some clean white shoes like she got off some clean air force ones and i was like oh i just i never i've never really looked at it to notice like oh dude i don't like shoes i was like i like that little nickname white shoes white shoes and then i was chilling one day with my girl and she was like yo you ever heard the song pete the cat the white shoes i was like nah so she was like she played the song i was like wow this is this gotta be your theme song so that's how we came up with the white shoes theme song now as far as how to choose get into tech i don't know but i do have i do have one story i had an ipad or my desk when she was a kitten i had an ipad on a little docking station and for some reason she would just always come and knock it over and then chill on the ipad so i said okay let me just let me move it somewhere else and see if if it's just the ipad or maybe she liked that space so i moved it she found it and did the same thing knock it over and just lay on it sounds like i shoot you you like tech you like tech so that's how she got it to tech i never says that y'all know she's an official tech lover anyway enough of me rambling it's not about me it's about
