350Z Seat Install - Bad Surprises...
Installing a Seat
The author recently installed a seat slider in their car and was pleased with the results. The seat has its own like activator, which helps with low placement, making it easier to install. However, the process wasn't without its challenges. The author had previously installed seats with simpler designs, but this one proved to be more complex. Nevertheless, they were able to get the job done despite some frustration.
The author found that installing a seat took up a significant amount of time, estimating hours for just one seat. They acknowledged that their DIY skills and experience could have helped speed up the process. The installation required patience and attention to detail, as the author worked tirelessly to ensure everything was aligned properly.
One aspect that impressed the author was how well the new seat fit with the car's existing design. The black seat in a black car created a cohesive look that didn't stray from their original vision for the interior. While it may not have been the most exciting experience, the author was satisfied with the end result and could see themselves riding around in the car.
Comparing to Previous Installations
The author mentioned having installed seats before, including one instance where they were able to complete a job relatively quickly. In contrast, this particular installation took much longer due to its complexity. However, the author attributed some of their frustration to the fact that they had been waiting for hours – an experience they described as "stupid." The installation required careful attention and patience, which may have contributed to the delay.
The author's DIY skills and experience played a significant role in completing the job. They seemed confident in their abilities, but also acknowledged areas where they could improve. Despite some initial frustration, the author was pleased with the final result and looked forward to putting the car on the road.
Sharing Experience at Sea
During a recent cruise, the author had an opportunity to reflect on their DIY experience and share it with others. They mentioned that the installation process was similar to installing a seat, requiring patience and attention to detail. The author noted that they didn't film any of this process for the first time in quite some time, opting instead to focus on taking a break and enjoying the cruise.
The author had a great experience during their Caribbean cruise, which included parasailing, lounging by the pool, and simply spending quality time with friends. They were excited to see familiar faces, including friends who owned cars that piqued their interest. The author also mentioned that they caught up with friends who had inspired them to start organizing and cleaning their garage.
Organizing and Cleaning the Garage
In recent months, the author has become determined to get organized and clean their garage. They explained that this initiative was inspired by a friend, who encouraged them to tidy up and create a more functional space. The author acknowledged the challenges of organizing and cleaning but seemed committed to achieving their goal.
The author expressed excitement about starting this new project, which they saw as an opportunity to declutter and improve their overall living situation. They looked forward to putting their newfound organizational skills into practice and creating a more peaceful environment.
Returning to Work
After taking a break from filming videos, the author returned to work with renewed enthusiasm and energy. They acknowledged that they needed some time to recharge and reflect on their experiences, but were now ready to tackle new projects and challenges.
The author expressed gratitude for their fans' understanding of their decision to take a step back from filming for an extended period. They explained that this break allowed them to mentally unplug and relax, which was essential for maintaining their creative spark.
The author thanked their audience for their support and understanding, looking forward to sharing new content with them in the near future.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat is up guys I miss all of you very much I hope you missed me I'm back probably talk a little bit more about our trip a little later in the video but for now I've got so much on my plate today a lot of really cool stuff so I'm excited to do it but it's a rainy day and it's a great day to try to get a head start on a bunch of stuff we got going on with all these freaking cars we're gonna do a lot today alright so I told you guys when we had that little like led behind the 240sx but I had an idea that would be something kind of cool so when I was at Sebring and osmosian on the race cars and everything I thought it'd be cool have I had like glowing number plates on their door and I couldn't figure out how it was possible because it was like vinyl literally like that thin and there was cut to numbers like it seemed unreal and highly expensive I did some research and I found out they're actually called Yale candles which I believe stands for electroluminescent panels I don't understand how they work but look so there's this candle it's got like two wires running to it with like this a little strip and I don't even like this is just the craziest thing to me so they glow they're not so as cool let them is they have a glow they're not really harsh like LEDs and they're cuttable so I'm literally cutting it to fit in there I don't know this is really cool I can't I don't even know how to explain my practices that little cutting the light right now to stuff it in my car I hope I didn't cut too much to be honest but look at this so I'm just trying to give it the right size right now I'm just cut it too much and be really upset but again there let's try and get that to fill the 240sx logo good how sick is that going to be just gonna trim it down a little bit more on the bottom but it's looking so rad having a really hard time getting it to sit the way that I want because the window glue in there is not really letting the panel push down where I want it to be so I'm ending up with this empty space here proper way to do it would be with the window often to do it behind there but I'm just kind of trying to do it ghetto I do have another idea to use the ELP and all that'll be really cool but I don't think I'm gonna be able to get this up to my standards though so probably just chill also side note I've never worked with these I did no research you will get electrocuted if you touch the edge of it after cutting it I quickly learned that and then I put like some clear wrap on the edge so that doesn't happen again it makes sense I don't know why I didn't think that I don't know why I didn't get electrocuted I was cutting it but it's rad sucks that I kind of wasted a big giant panel for no reason but it's cool learning experience trying to figure out how to use this stuff in a cool way always handy to have clear vinyl on hand if you guys remember I clear wrapped this entire door bar in my cage and that's what's kept it from looking all scratched up and beat up like most people's cages you can see it's already getting kind of worn so I can just unpeel this and I should be a littler place it and have it looking like new again look at that so satisfying kind of rushed at this time so it doesn't look as good as it did the first time I get a couple bubbles but police is protecting the paint I can always redo it in the future no more time my last bumper was getting pretty beat up so I put back on my favorite bumper on my car it's an origin one but it's fiberglass so it's really not gonna last very long but makes my car looks so much nicer we're about to do some stuff to the Black Sea this car so loud just just a little quiet Z is all it is I got the spark goes for the black Z so we're gonna start the process I'm gonna pull these seats out Matt's gonna do some detailing on the carpet while I have the seats out and then hopefully the brackets will come in the mail so I can mount up the new spark goes in the car while was gone mad also buffed these up and surprisingly they came right back to life I don't know if you remember they're all like super faded and crusty looking some good old 14 mil oh this thing is nasty yeah I don't think that's mold it's probably a little bit of mold Matt you brought your hazmat suit right Kronus anybody want a free seat we should shampoo the carpet yep with Garnier Fructis so it smells like an orange in there going you guys remember that black thing that was covering up all the rips in the seat it's literally a napkin from a restaurant that's great good catch so am i touching that do the so gross lick it Schulman things on camera like this look no it's too freaking amazing he's completely making all this up how funny would it be children have you always looked like absurd things but they never made it for the cotton to the video stupid-head unit doesn't work it's super like all literally it's got a picture of like an iPod video and you have to use a stylus for the touchscreen to work and it won't play music even though it's showing it here so that kind of stinks I'll have to get one of those sweet ones like we got in the giveaway car show me I think I found the fork from the restaurant what is all that do you know that is I thought it was like maybe bat droppings but I don't think it is what is it what the mole is it I don't know pretty sure that's more foam cannon on the interior say what back in the day before we get pressure washers we used to pump our foam cannon the chef to the right company for sending mussels jokes fairs things are sick Schulman just found something while he was vacuuming indicates either this car was owned by like a millionaire super emperor guy like the villain from fast and furious or by some sketchy dude Matt would you find in here curious packaging Matt Matt knows a lot about drugs oh come on he goes I got all excited I was like man I could really use a coca-cola dad jokes hashtag no you really think that's a coke back though yeah okay I can see the excess some way ah man this blacks is he's just getting luckier and luckier aha chillin yeah I've never really saw this on video because I thought I was kind of a touchy subject back at the time but me and Jimmy we're looking at an e46 m3 and a molar red one with Imola red interior that was back before I got my 335 I was debating whether I wanted 46 or an e 92 and lo and behold I didn't realize it but I guess when you're looking at the car Jimmy told me he saw like a giant eight ball of coke in the trunk or something and like right in front of owner like they were both looking at it was super awkward me being clueless I don't even realize it like I would have thought that that was a sure yeah well that must be with the forças for what that's how you eat coke right gangs looking like a new car in here smells nice too so we got after and before hey Nicole showmen found coke in the car how stoked are you cocaine I thought I was coca-cola first - OH Shaun Mendoza Nicole no showman knows literally yeah would you do that like that I've never even locked this card you'd ever oh boy time to get an Uzi look he's the keys are right here I cry unfortunately we don't have metal hangers so using a plastic one there's this little metal hook I took it and bended this around and we're gonna use one of these welding sticks we're gonna fold it over on the end and then tape it and hopefully we can hook this around the door handle and pull it I might have to make the rod double thick so it doesn't flop over on itself so much many hours later I was able to get it hooked around the door handle just to find as my assumption that we are going to need more than just pulling this to open the door those tricky please I feel like I succeeded extensa time to call Oxfam what I just realized about this car too is no walk cliff is probably going to touch it since it doesn't have a plate or a title or any proof of ownership so he probably think it's stolen I'm sad and I'm really bummed because the packages I've been waiting to come in all day the seat rails and Y's have I can't install anything on the car sigh I'm a little bit nervous I hope that they're not gonna give me a hard time or have to call the police since the car doesn't have a title or a plate if you're new to the videos the car is like in rebuilt title limbo because it still needs to be inspected before it can get a title I have a bill of sale that's about it so in the meantime I am mounting up the brackets that I got to the driver's seat there's somebody club rails with sliders since other people are gonna be driving this car I know they don't sit the lowest but I know you guys have been a subscriber for a while you know I absolutely hate nothing more than installing seats especially with rails and nine times out of ten I end up hating them and taking them out because my head hits the ceiling except for in case of Nicole's car because what we both drive that car so it's necessary but anyway conveniently I was able to talk to him at the Gingin he has the same exact seats and rails so I just asked him which holes he had it in he told me the second one in the front first one in the rear honestly I could probably just throw it in the car like this and be good but I'm still gonna test fit it before I go tighten anything down normally I wouldn't be nervous about something like this but our house very much right now looks like a chop shop so we've got all the different cars in the driveway you know we got some new ones some old ones and then when you look in the garage you've got one 350z you've got parts laying around like seats and random gas jugs and racks it very much looks so like this car is stolen and we're just like parting it out or something so I'm a little concerned because it it's either gonna go really well and the dude is gonna be like super chill or it's gonna go really badly and the cops are gonna show up here and you're gonna get arrested by me cuz you lock the keys in the car yeah I don't know if I mentioned but I got Weiss pad for the Black Sea I don't even have wise v on my car I just want my Z to like literally be super simple and Matt already put on his car it works well he really likes it I know some people are too crazy about the PBM stuff on Z's and there aren't really many options out there I like it on the 370z so I figured I might as well give it a try unfortunately it's not sponsored paid full price or should I say the tjuku price for it but we got it alright so how much trouble am I in for not having a plate so it turns out this chain actually watches the videos this is really funny and let me see what's like professionally Dennis did you already get it no way but I make the alarm there we go Japanese cars maybe in the door oh that's so funny so like you basically take this thing does this just like spread up the window and then yes gonna magically push it puts a little bit of pressure pulls it out so you can get something in there and hit the lock that's sick well thank you man I appreciate it dude that was so simple see you actually sits a lot better than I thought it would only real issue that I had but I'm gonna fix by just doing a little bit of grinding I don't really care that it hits the C here cuz it's not a big deal but this is a sharp edge and it prevents the seat from going all the way back a little bit I could raise the seat a little bit in back but I'd rather have it super low for helmet clearance so I think what I'm gonna do is just grind this edge a little bit I don't want to go too crazy because I don't want to like tamper with the structure of this make it any weaker probably just gonna try to grind this edge down a little bit and make it so I can move see a little bit farther back grinding it down a little bit and used a dremel grinding stone to get a nice and smooth also painted it real quick just so it wouldn't be raw and exposed looks pretty nice and I'm still pretty happy with the amount of structural rigidity that it remains now's the fun part of tightening everything down for put it in the car see rails can just be very annoying to get them to cooperate they have to be like very parallel and right I don't know there's just a lot of weird things that make them not like to work what I've been struggling with here that I've just now found the solution to not the way that these sparkles are designed they're much wider in the front than the rear make sense so even with the bracket maxed out on the front and maxed out inward in the rear it it isn't in line with the seat so when I tighten it what it's doing is creating some strain on the rails and it's not letting it slide forward or back so what I'm actually gonna end up doing is putting some spacers in here so we can have a stress free rail and we should be able to slide forward and back having rails on a car and having a low seat position also I can let my friends and of course Nicole share my car I've conquered the Z it may look difficult but before I didn't move at all you want to know the fix was none of you ever had this issue before I'd like none of you ever put cereals in your carcass cereals are dumb and there's no need to move your seat ever just tell your friend to get a pillow but I found for whatever reason the culprit was this one bolt I could loosen it and then I would be able to use a slider and what I realized was it's kind of crooked like tilted this way and whenever I tighten it pull it down and put weird stress on the slider so I happen to have like a weird square washer that was thicker on one side kind of like an angle and I slid it in underneath here so it's kind of at an angle now and it let it do what it wants to do while still being firm to the ground and now yeah full usage of sliders can sleep pepino best solution in my opinion are the rails that bride makes bride makes rails where these sliders are actually on the side welded to the bracket kind of like this except you don't have the bar underneath each slider has its own like activator it's like kind of on the side here which helps a lot for low placement of seats but those are the simplest letters I ever installed the bride ones not these ones but overall I guess the seat looks good I don't know it's a black seat in a black car it doesn't look anything special but um it's how I wanted to sit pretty low in the car we have success yeah yeah it was stupid a little washer made it work I've Nicole I shouldn't wait too long for installing seats like they don't understand in the video I think was probably like a minute long it was definitely hours for one seat I could have installed wise fat faster how crazy is that one more to go just kidding no I'm not gonna put the passenger when I'm gonna burn it Nicole's delicious dinner Nicole what's this called it's car but peppers and eggs I cut the peppers guys in case you can't tell Burt is yeah he is how could they tell you've got the peppers I was it was a joke Nicole we went on the cruise in case you're just joining now do you want to tell them slightly about our crews after dinner we met a handful of you guys 10 people holy tip ha ha we wanted out of super-short three-day Caribbean cruise didn't film anything for the first time in like ever yeah remember ever well I guess I don't know yeah you're right huh you're better he's about to die it's okay yeah we normally like film stuff but we just wanted to take like a full-on break and it was a lot of fun Nicole did you enjoy it well I enjoyed it so much we went parasailing we got a Cabana we laid up on the beach we got sleep we just hung out and just talk I saw our 32 and our 34 skyline sedan and I saw and I saw um I saw an na na natural aspirated and a Miata and it was red and it was so cute and a green Mini Cooper that was so dude super duper cute and um we just had so much fun just hanging out and just chillin we thank you for understanding that we needed those like because what was the two days of that videos yeah thank you for understanding that we needed those couple of days off just to like mentally unplug and relax and everything it was awesome so we're gonna do that once a month now it's so easy living in Orlando cuz we literally just like drove to the port hopped on the cruise ship there was it was super simple left like Friday evening got back Monday super early I got started on the Black Sea okay on the first day I'm here in Nassau holy crap we did not I said that funny on purpose we did not know how many celebrities own house is there anyway we went on this sunset cruise that was absolutely beautiful and they had a picture time that you can take pictures as a couple here put our picture in right there if not don't include that and anyway a different couple went up and the guy the girls like look at it and cousin take a picture of her like all cute and everything and they got that mommies me and he proposed and it was super cute so yeah maybe one day someone will propose to you he loved my dad jokes all right guys yeah that's how you know it's a dad joke when you like you have to question whether it's a joke or not all right guys so back to the Black Sea we looked at the clock we thought it was like 11:00 but it's almost 1:00 so I think I'm actually gonna call it a night here feel super lame since like I don't know I guess I got stuff down my 2:40 I don't remember if I showed you I did like the sway bar end links and like aligned it and got that back together and on the road but um I do feel kind of lame only installing a seat yeah we were test fitting it to make sure Nicole could reach the pedals cuz she really couldn't which is sad I wanted to get my fat for the car tonight at least start ripping apart the front end and what's on it definitely excited to tear into this box but that is going to have to wait for tomorrow's episode also got a friend stopping by a friend that has inspired me to start organizing and cleaning the garage a lot because I don't want to get scolded it's great to be back I hope you guys enjoyed this video I feel like we did a lot even though we didn't get a lot accomplished it's gonna be a busy week but we're gonna get a lot of stuff done I'm so excited to ride that black car is gonna be sick it needs a lot though it definitely needs quite a bit but it'll be worth it thank you guys you're awesome I'll see you tomorrowwhat is up guys I miss all of you very much I hope you missed me I'm back probably talk a little bit more about our trip a little later in the video but for now I've got so much on my plate today a lot of really cool stuff so I'm excited to do it but it's a rainy day and it's a great day to try to get a head start on a bunch of stuff we got going on with all these freaking cars we're gonna do a lot today alright so I told you guys when we had that it's got like two wires running to it with like this a little strip and I don't even like this is just the craziest thing to me so they glow they're not so as cool let them is they have a glow they're not really harsh like LEDs and they're cuttable so I'm literally cutting it to fit in there I don't know this is really cool I can't I don't even know how to explain my practices that little cutting the light right now to stuff it in my car I hope I didn't cut too much to be honest but look at this so I'm just trying to give it the right size right now I'm just cut it too much and be really upset but again there let's try and get that to fill the 240sx logo good how sick is that going to be just gonna trim it down a little bit more on the bottom but it's looking so rad having a really hard the dude is gonna be like super chill or it's gonna go really badly and the cops are gonna show up here and you're gonna get arrested by me cuz you lock the keys in the car yeah I don't know if I mentioned but I got Weiss pad for the Black Sea I don't even have wise v on my car I just want my Z to like literally be super simple and Matt already put on his car it works well he really likes it I know some people are too crazy about the PBM stuff on Z's and there aren't really many options out there I like it on the 370z so I figured I might as well give it a try unfortunately it's not sponsored paid full price or should I say the tjuku price for it but we got it alright so how much trouble am I in for not having a plate so it turns out this chain actually watches the videos this is really funny and let me see what's like professionally Dennis did you already get it no way but I make the alarm there we go Japanese cars maybe in the door oh that's so funny so like you basically take this thing does this just like spread up the window and then yes gonna magically push it puts a little bit of pressure pulls it out so you can get something in there and hit the lock that's sick well thank you man I appreciate it dude that was so simple see you actually sits a lot better than I thought it would only real issue that I had but I'm gonna fix by just doing a little bit of grinding I don't really care that it hits the C here cuz it's not a big deal but this is a sharp edge and it prevents the seat from going all the way back a little bit I could raise the seat a little bit in back but I'd rather have it super low for helmet clearance so I think what I'm gonna do is just grind this edge a little bit I don't want to go too crazy because I don't want to like tamper with the structure of this make it any weaker probably just gonna try to grind this edge down a little bit and make it so I can move see a little bit farther back grinding it down a little bit and used a dremel grinding stone to get a nice and smooth also painted it real quick just so it wouldn't be raw and exposed looks pretty nice and I'm still pretty happy with the amount of structural rigidity that it remains now's the fun part of tightening everything down for put it in the car see rails can just be very annoying to get them to cooperate they have to be like very parallel and right I don't know there's just a lot of weird things that make them not like to work what I've been struggling with here that I've just now found the solution to not the way that these sparkles are designed they're much wider in the front than the rear make sense so even with the bracket maxed out on the front and maxed out inward in the rear it it isn't in line with the seat so when I tighten it what it's doing is creating some strain on the rails and it's not letting it slide forward or back so what I'm actually gonna end up doing is putting some spacers in here so we can have a stress free rail and we should be able to slide forward and back having rails on a car and having a low seat position also I can let my friends and of course Nicole share my car I've conquered the Z it may look difficult but before I didn't move at all you want to know the fix was none of you ever had this issue before I'd like none of you ever put cereals in your carcass cereals are dumb and there's no need to move your seat ever just tell your friend to get a pillow but I found for whatever reason the culprit was this one bolt I could loosen it and then I would be able to use a slider and what I realized was it's kind of crooked like tilted this way and whenever I tighten it pull it down and put weird stress on the slider so I happen to have like a weird square washer that was thicker on one side kind of like an angle and I slid it in underneath here so it's kind of at an angle now and it let it do what it wants to do while still being firm to the ground and now yeah full usage of sliders can sleep pepino best solution in my opinion are the rails that bride makes bride makes rails where these sliders are actually on the side welded to the bracket kind of like this except you don't have the bar underneath each slider has its own like activator it's like kind of on the side here which helps a lot for low placement of seats but those are the simplest letters I ever installed the bride ones not these ones but overall I guess the seat looks good I don't know it's a black seat in a black car it doesn't look anything special but um it's how I wanted to sit pretty low in the car we have success yeah yeah it was stupid a little washer made it work I've Nicole I shouldn't wait too long for installing seats like they don't understand in the video I think was probably like a minute long it was definitely hours for one seat I could have installed wise fat faster how crazy is that one more to go just kidding no I'm not gonna put the passenger when I'm gonna burn it Nicole's delicious dinner Nicole what's this called it's car but peppers and eggs I cut the peppers guys in case you can't tell Burt is yeah he is how could they tell you've got the peppers I was it was a joke Nicole we went on the cruise in case you're just joining now do you want to tell them slightly about our crews after dinner we met a handful of you guys 10 people holy tip ha ha we wanted out of super-short three-day Caribbean cruise didn't film anything for the first time in like ever yeah remember ever well I guess I don't know yeah you're right huh you're better he's about to die it's okay yeah we normally like film stuff but we just wanted to take like a full-on break and it was a lot of fun Nicole did you enjoy it well I enjoyed it so much we went parasailing we got a Cabana we laid up on the beach we got sleep we just hung out and just talk I saw our 32 and our 34 skyline sedan and I saw and I saw um I saw an na na natural aspirated and a Miata and it was red and it was so cute and a green Mini Cooper that was so dude super duper cute and um we just had so much fun just hanging out and just chillin we thank you for understanding that we needed those like because what was the two days of that videos yeah thank you for understanding that we needed those couple of days off just to like mentally unplug and relax and everything it was awesome so we're gonna do that once a month now it's so easy living in Orlando cuz we literally just like drove to the port hopped on the cruise ship there was it was super simple left like Friday evening got back Monday super early I got started on the Black Sea okay on the first day I'm here in Nassau holy crap we did not I said that funny on purpose we did not know how many celebrities own house is there anyway we went on this sunset cruise that was absolutely beautiful and they had a picture time that you can take pictures as a couple here put our picture in right there if not don't include that and anyway a different couple went up and the guy the girls like look at it and cousin take a picture of her like all cute and everything and they got that mommies me and he proposed and it was super cute so yeah maybe one day someone will propose to you he loved my dad jokes all right guys yeah that's how you know it's a dad joke when you like you have to question whether it's a joke or not all right guys so back to the Black Sea we looked at the clock we thought it was like 11:00 but it's almost 1:00 so I think I'm actually gonna call it a night here feel super lame since like I don't know I guess I got stuff down my 2:40 I don't remember if I showed you I did like the sway bar end links and like aligned it and got that back together and on the road but um I do feel kind of lame only installing a seat yeah we were test fitting it to make sure Nicole could reach the pedals cuz she really couldn't which is sad I wanted to get my fat for the car tonight at least start ripping apart the front end and what's on it definitely excited to tear into this box but that is going to have to wait for tomorrow's episode also got a friend stopping by a friend that has inspired me to start organizing and cleaning the garage a lot because I don't want to get scolded it's great to be back I hope you guys enjoyed this video I feel like we did a lot even though we didn't get a lot accomplished it's gonna be a busy week but we're gonna get a lot of stuff done I'm so excited to ride that black car is gonna be sick it needs a lot though it definitely needs quite a bit but it'll be worth it thank you guys you're awesome I'll see you tomorrow\n"
