**A First Look at iOS 12: A Hands-On Experience**
I recently had the opportunity to explore some of the new features and capabilities of iOS 12 during WWDC. While I didn't have access to the App Store itself, I was able to test out various aspects of the operating system in Safari.
As I navigated through the different sections, I noticed that the interface had undergone a significant redesign. The new design language is sleek and modern, with clean lines and minimal clutter. However, not everything seemed to be immediately available to me, as I reached my time limit on the preview. Despite this, I was able to see some of the exciting features and capabilities of iOS 12 in action.
One of the first things I noticed was the new privacy features. Apple has introduced a range of measures to help users better control their personal data, including Siri's ability to intelligently recognize and respond to user queries. I also saw the integration with YouTube, which now dims out when your time limit is reached. However, YouTube Studio remains available for productivity purposes.
As I delved deeper into the interface, I came across a new feature that allowed me to search within my photos app. The results were impressive, with the ability to search by people, places, and even objects like woodwind instruments or cardboard. I also stumbled upon a section dedicated to "carnival" which seemed to have been triggered by an anime convention-related video. It was interesting to see how AI could be used to categorize and recognize content.
Next, I decided to test out the reading feature, which has now been integrated with the Books app. The interface is clean and minimalistic, making it easy on the eyes. I browsed through some book recommendations, including an audio book version of "The Anatomy of Peace". The recommendations seemed spot on, and I was impressed by the discovery process.
As I continued to explore iOS 12, I noticed that some features were still in development or not yet available. For example, I saw a section dedicated to creating shortcuts, but it didn't seem to be fully functional at this time. However, Apple did provide an opportunity to ask Siri a random question, which showed off its capabilities.
Throughout my hands-on experience with iOS 12, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the care that Apple has put into designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The new features and capabilities are exciting, and I'm eager to see where this will take the operating system in the future.
**The Future of Siri: A New Era of Intelligence**
Siri's intelligent capabilities were on full display during my hands-on experience with iOS 12. One of the most impressive features was its ability to recognize and respond to user queries. Whether it was answering a random question or providing information on a specific topic, Siri consistently delivered accurate and relevant results.
One of the standout moments came when I asked Siri about dividing 13.5 by zero. While this is mathematically impossible, Siri didn't hesitate and provided a witty response. The "joke" was actually just a clever way to handle the mathematical impossibility, which shows that Apple has put thought into designing an AI-powered assistant that can think on its feet.
**Stocks: A New Face Lift**
The Stocks app had undergone a significant redesign as part of iOS 12. The new interface is sleek and modern, with a clean design language that makes it easy to navigate. One of the most notable features is the integration with market news, which provides users with real-time updates on stock prices.
However, I did notice that some sections were still under development. For example, the search function was not yet fully functional, but it showed promise and had been integrated into the app's design.
**Photos: A New Era of Search**
The Photos app had also undergone a significant redesign as part of iOS 12. The new interface is clean and minimalistic, making it easy to navigate and use. One of the most impressive features was its ability to search for specific content within the photos.
I was able to search for people, places, and even objects like woodwind instruments or cardboard. The results were impressive, with the Photos app showing a remarkable ability to recognize and categorize content. This feature is sure to be a hit with users who enjoy browsing through their photo library.
**A Sneak Peek at iOS 12**
As I continued to explore iOS 12, I stumbled upon a section dedicated to "extreme face painting" which seemed to have been triggered by an anime convention-related video. It was interesting to see how AI could be used to recognize and categorize content in this way.
I also came across a feature that allowed me to search for 2D illustrations within my photos, which showed off the app's capabilities in recognizing and processing visual content. The results were impressive, with the Photos app demonstrating its ability to recognize and categorize even the most complex images.
**The Exciting Conclusion: iOS 12**
As I came to the end of my hands-on experience with iOS 12, I was left feeling impressed by the attention to detail and care that Apple has put into designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface. The new features and capabilities are exciting, and I'm eager to see where this will take the operating system in the future.
With its sleek design language, advanced AI-powered assistant, and impressive search features, iOS 12 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates to Apple's operating system in recent memory. Whether you're a seasoned power user or just looking for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, iOS 12 has something to offer.

hold and it can tell methe totals for each day.It tells me the weekly total down hereand most used apps are sortof down here with the times. So that is really cool.It even shows you the pick up time.Like how many times youpick up your device per day.Now here it says, it even averages out.I pick up my phone once every 17 minuteswhich two things wrong with that, one this is not a phone, it's an iPadand the other thing wrong withis that can't be true becauseI was gone most of the dayUnless it's pullinginformation, you know what?I wonder if it's pullinginformation from my phoneeven though my phone is not listed hereand even though my phoneis not running iOS 12,I wonder if it's picking up databecause Wednesday June 27th,the first time I used my iPad was now.Is that suppose to happen? You guys in the community, tell me if it's reading datafrom non-iOS 12 devices. This is also cool down here. It'll show you notification frequency.Around 14 per day.Again, I'm not sure howaccurate this stuff is'cause I'm not sure what it's reading fromand it is a beta but it would make sensethat something like a chatting applicationwould have a higherfrequency of notifications. You know what?I'm looking at this and thesebars are looking pretty symmetrical here.So I was at work (laughs)during this time,so there's no way I could of beenpicking up my iPad but I thinkit's counting pick up timeas notifications because whennotifications come through, the screen wakes up andthat's probably whythese mirror each other.I don't know if that'ssuppose to happen on purposeor if it's a bug.It is only a public betaso that's my guess for now. That kind of skews the accuracy.I hope they fix that.Okay, let's try to use this thing.Ugh, I still can't use these gestures. Now I'm starting to understandwhy people were not liking them.I've heard some complaints, but hey, this is the first public beta.I'm sure they will possibly maybe fix it.So I was going through some other featuresthey can maybe test like group FaceTimebut I have no friends, so I can't do that.Group notifications, wellI don't have friends,so I won't get notificationsso I can't test that. The new Animoji stuff.Well I don't have an iPhoneX, so I can't test that. The AR stuff, well I don't really like ARfor most things so I can't test that.So that brings me down to, well,I wanted to test out theseries shortcuts thing'cause that sounded cool.I go to more shortcuts.Earlier it said no results, now it just gives methe cartwheel of deathand I don't know.Wasn't there a shortcuts editor?I couldn't find that app anywhere,so I actually don't knowhow to make shortcuts.Let's maybe ask Siri.Hey, how do I make a shortcut?- Shortcuts let us conjure upnew time saving tricks together. And you get to pick the magic words. You can get all the details on Apple.com.- Oh well okay, well let's find out together.I mean, maybe the featureisn't fully implemented yet.I saw it demoed during WWDC.I've reached my time limit on app store.Well, I'm not in theapp store, I'm in Safariand why is this still showing me my tabs? And I only put timelimits on entertainmentso I am very confused asto what's happening here.So I'm just gonna ignore, ignore.Ignore, that's an inaccurate time limit.I don't know what you're doing.I like the little hourglass animation.Let's see, that's privacy features.Yes, Siri can nowintelligently (murmuring). So yeah, you can make your own shortcutswith the new shortcuts app,but I don't see that anywhere. So I'm guessing that'sstill being worked on.So yeah, that's a bit of a bummer. If anyone else got thatto work, let me know.I really wished I could of demoed that. So, we'll just ask Siri a random question.Siri, what is 13.5 divided by zero?- Please don'tmake me divide by zero, that would be like me askingyou to grow a third arm.- Well, jokeson you, I already did that.Wait, jokes on you, I already did that.- Who me?- Oh, I see what it did.It dimmed it out, oh okay.So it dimmed it out becauseI hit
