gold and teal color options all of which look very refreshing and the best part is the minimal bezels on this display you can see here how almost non-existent the bezels are on this thing plus redmi has also included an IP 54 rating versus IP 53 on the Note 12 which should give you slightly better Splash resistance uh you also get coring Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display and yes you get an iio Blaster here too the boxy F Factor on it also helps quite a bit with the grip so yeah the redmi note 13 pretty much provides you a good trendy design for what it's worth moving on the display here is also fairly competitive as you get a 120 HZ 10bit AMOLED panel it's not 12 bit like its Pro siblings but it is still a nice full age HD screen with vibrant colors Inky blacks and great contrast the outdoor visibility is also pretty good with thousand nits of Max brightness and thankfully I do not find redmi trying to oversharpened visuals on YouTube as it is with redmi's Note 13 pro and pro plus so watching movies shows and Anime is a good enough experience on this one sadly red me has decided not to include Asia video playback on this phone which was there on the older note 12 and uh talking about the things that are not in included we also don't get stereo speakers this time I could live with the exclusion of Asia video playback on the Note 13 but not having a stereo output looks like a big Miss on this oneone I played a few songs on the redmi Note 13 side by side with the Poco X6 which comes for more or less a similar price and found Poco doing a much better job not only there is a good stereo separation but the audio is louder and Fuller on it hence listening to songs or watching movies is a better experience on the Poco X6 then on the redmi Note 13 5G likewise po offer slightly better haptics than the redmi note 13 as well okay so moving on let's talk about the performance side of things and here the redmi note 13 5G is powered by the mediatech diamond City 680 chipset which basically is a rebranded diamond City 810 but still it is a good enough Improvement upon the Snapdragon 4 gen 1 that we had on the redmi Note 12 5G take gaming for instance you get a very stable 40 and 60 FPS in games like pubg and Call of Duty and I didn't notice much heating or throttling during gameplay either uh even when running benchmarks and such the phone was able to maintain favorable temperatures only in intensive games like genin impact and macarina the overall stability was not very good here and the phone got slightly hotter while playing those games too um but but overall the gaming side of things on the redmi Note 13 5G is good enough for the price I would say however I do have to tell you that the Poco X6 with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is a much better performer in the same price bracket especially in the gaming space the phone was able to push smooth 60 FPS in pubg and Call of Duty while it also supports higher FPS gaming in titles such as Mech Arena during normal usage though the redmi note 13 will not disappoint you at all the phone is pretty smooth by while normally using social media making phone calls texting or are only going to get up to Android 15 on the redmi Note 13 5G so if long-term software support is what you're searching for a clean software experience is what you like then the redm note 13 5G might not be a good fit for you all right so what about the cameras then are they the redeeming quality of the redmi note 13 well let me start by saying that that the note 135g gets an upgraded main camera from last year's note 12 5G with a 108 megap sensor and then we have the usual an 8 megapix Ultra wide angle lens and a 2 megapix macro sensor now you might think that the 108 megapix sensor does wonders for image quality right but that is not the case here you do get good enough details in the images but that's about it dynamic range management highlight preservation color reproduction Etc are very very average here just just like on the redm Note 13 Pro it looks like good Hardware is being wasted because of lack of optimization to be fair its cameras are better than the Poco X6 that produces dark and inconsistent images but even so I wouldn't call the redm note 13 5gs cameras anything extra for example look at these portraits although the overall image looks better than the Poco X6 note 13's images are not very color balanced during nighttime the phone is able to shoot bright images thanks to the larger sensor the details are good enough and the overall quality is not bad per se uh I would also highly suggest you not use the night mode as the phone tends to overdo the colors and exposure by a whole lot likewise the ultra wideangle images are nothing to write home about as they have quite a bit of color difference with the primary camera along with having sof bar details the videography side sees average results too in terms of resolution the max you can go as 1080p 60 FPS uh while you're shooting still videos the results are actually not that bad but once you are in motion the videos lack any kind of stabilization all in all the redmi note 13's cameras are just average in my opinion and are only good enough for General usage and nothing more lastly the battery life is pretty good here I was getting around 6 to 7 hours of screen on time with the 5,000 Mah cell in the note 13 5G so you can easily call it a full day battery phone moreover if uh scrolling through your news feed watching Instagram reels and streaming videos on YouTube is all that you do on your smartphone it might even last you even longer charging is not a hassle either at 33 wat which took me around uh half an hour to get to 60% and slightly more than an hour to fully charge this phone so if you're looking for a balanced mid-range phone for some 20,000 in India the redmi note 13 looks like one of the good options it definitely misses out on a few aspects but it does get a lot of things right like the design display battery life and somewhat the cameras too having said that I don't see the redm note 135g being the market disruptor in its price segment as they used to before it is one of the good options yes but right now the market disruptor is xiaomi's own sub brand Poco for instance the Poco X6 which is like 10% more expensive will provide you much much better
