Asis Old House is Back on the Road: Exciting Season Ahead
Asis old house is back on the road, kicking off our 14th season this fall on PBS. We're thrilled to announce that this year will be more exciting than ever before, as we travel to new places, bring you stories closer to your own home, and explore projects from around the globe. Whether we're planting a butterfly garden in Texas or tackling renovation projects in California, our team is dedicated to helping homeowners like you make their homes run comfortably, efficiently, and smartly.
One of the most amazing projects we'll be working on this season is a butterfly garden in Texas. The transformation is incredible, and we can't wait to share it with you. Roger Cook hopes that by sharing his expertise, he can help homeowners in California stay cool during the hot summer months. "I think it's going to work great," he says, "and I think you're going to save some money." Our team will be working hard to make this project a success, and we can't wait to share the results with you.
Another exciting project on our agenda is a renovation in the woods of Ront. The team will be emptying buckets twice a day and taking them down to the Sugar House to turn them into syrup. This is just one example of the many tips, tricks, and tools we'll be sharing with you throughout the season. Our team is passionate about helping homeowners make their homes more comfortable, efficient, and smartly.
Roger Cook has also headed back to school, this time working with landscape designer J Noada and third-grade students to expand a classroom garden. The kids are eager to get started, and Roger promises that they'll have a blast while learning about gardening and sustainability. "Do you still get detention?" he asks the students, to which they respond with an enthusiastic "no!" The beds are all ready to plant, and the team is excited to see the fruits of their labor.
In addition to our regular projects, we'll also be tackling some exciting new challenges this season. Electrician Scott Karen will be working on big and small projects, from wiring a garage to lighting up an antique lantern with a modern twist. "I want to cut this out of here," he says, "and I want to bury the wires underground – it'll be a lot safer." Our team is dedicated to making sure that every project is done safely and efficiently.
One of our special episodes will focus on home heating and energy technology with the Trui family. Ross will take us on a tour of Texas, where wind power is a major industry, and show us how a home wind turbine works. "It's all about the wind velocity," he explains – the higher you go, the more power that's available to us. We'll also be visiting Germany, the world leader in renewable energy, to see some big ideas and technology that we can bring back to the States.
Safety will always be our top priority on any Home Improvement project. As Roger Cook reminds us, "the most important is a pair of safety chaps." He's not kidding – safety gear is essential for protecting ourselves and others while working on projects. In our brand new build-it segment, Tom Sila will bring us some simple woodworking projects that will transport you back to your high school days. You'll get a glimpse into Tommy's creative process as he works on each project.
Throughout the season, we'll have many more surprises in store for you. We've got a lot of exciting projects lined up, and we can't wait to share them with you. So make sure to tune in to our brand new season this fall on PBS – we promise it will be an unforgettable journey!
