What's Up Guys: Unboxing the Alcatel OneTouch Popup
La here from Andre Authority and we're taking a look at an entry level device here from Alcatel OneTouch this is the popup, so let's dive right into it.
The design elements of this device are really worth mentioning. It's made entirely of plastic but actually feels really nice to the touch. The device has a very solid build to it and one of the things I like most about it is that it's easy to use in one hand, which is kind of what I really like about it - you can't say that about too many smartphones these days, so the one-handed usability is really good on this device. Additionally, one of the cool things about this device is that it comes in a bunch of different colors for the backing, so you should be able to find a color that suits your taste.
Now, let's move on to some of the internal specs. You're looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 processor, which is definitely an upgrade from some of the other entry-level devices out there. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, and it also has micro SD card expansion as well, so you can get access to more storage if needed by taking off the back cover. One of the standout features of this device is that it's a dual SIM device, which means you can take advantage of two SIM cards on this phone - perfect for your personal carrier or for travel and other purposes.
As far as the operating system goes, you're looking at Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is a mostly stock version with some slight differences in the icons. Alcatel has done a really great job of keeping the experience pretty close to stock, so you won't find too much going on here as far as customization is concerned. This will definitely help out as far as performance goes, since it's running a clean and optimized system.
Moving on to the camera, you're looking at a 13 megapixel camera on the rear and a 5 megapix camera on the front for all your selfies and video chats. The screen is a 5-inch LCD display IPS LCD that looks pretty good - it's very bright and colorful, especially considering its relatively small size. That's really it for the popup - this device is set to be available in Q4 in Europe for a price of $179, with US pricing still to be determined.
So, there you have it for now on the Alcatel OneTouch Popup. Stay tuned for the rest of our coverage here at epha 2015
