How To Make Cassava Flour Tortillas _ Healthy _ Gluten-Free _ Kosher for Passover

Welcoming Viewers to Another Episode of "Just Make It"

Hello and welcome to another episode of "Just Make It", I'm your host, Ellie Sheva. Today, we're going to make cassava flour tortillas using Heaven and Earth cassava flour. Cassava is a root vegetable that's amazing because it's great for PESA, and you can use it to make tortillas or anything in the baking area.

We're going to start with the flour, so let's get one cup on the bottom, salt, and oil - just 1 tablespoon. We'll mix this with a wooden spoon what we want to do is to get to a consistency of Play-Doh. Now, because it's a kind of potato they're not too or alike, so we always have to adjust the water. I'm going to add some more water until I get that consistency and I'm probably going to have to add also some oil. Cassava has a lot of good health benefits - it's rich in vitamin C, it's good for your gut health, it's anti-inflammatory, and it doesn't spike your blood sugar.

Another tablespoon so it's going to give me that smoothness and just need that push and pull and you see that it's all coming together into one nice piece. Now what we're going to do is let it rest for like 2 minutes inside of a Ziploc bag. Just going to let it rest if you don't have a ziplock, you could just cover it with a cloth and that's it. But you can see it's really like Play-Doh - this is what it feels like.

Okay, so you're going to take about this size, about this palm of your hand of dough, and we're going to open it up on a little bit of flour. Just push it down a bit on both sides some flour, take your rolling pin and you're just going to try to make a circle the best you can if it cracks, it's fine - just go side to side and again you flip it and you take a little bit of flow and you roll it down as much as you think you would want it to be not too thick not too thin. You're just trying to make like a tortilla.

Now it's the time to flip it over, what you're looking for is those little golden dots like this. We're going to flip it a couple of times and sometimes it bubbles up a lot, so we're just going to Give It 2 3 minutes. Okay now, we're going to flip it again one more time, again, we're looking looking for those gold brown colors and we're going to wait until it bubbles again.

This is what we're looking for - you see this bubble, this is perfect. We're going to flip it just like that, just want to show you the amount of bubble that we have it's like really like a p that we're looking for. So we're going to let it cook a little bit more and then we're going to put in another one out of the one cup of flour. We have six tortillas and it's really they're really nice, you can travel with them anywhere, drink everybody takes trips - you could freeze them, you can make wraps sandwiches anything - it's really amazing.

The Best Part of Cassava Flour Tortillas
