Returning to Our BMW versus Lexus Battle: The Drift Test
Welcome back to Fifth Gear where we're returning to our BMW versus Lexus battle. In our previous episode, the RCF won the drag race, but now it's time for some extreme cornering and by that I mean drifting. It's an important test because if these cars don't entertain like a sports car should then you'd have to think twice about paying the extra £20,000 they cost over a standard BMW or Lexus Saloon. But which gives more thrills? Well, the best of three runs will decide and these cadal po marshals should ensure impartial scoring.
Not too sure about this drifting big heavy car feels a bit soft got it all the settings as tight as I can have them how's that going to work we shall see but the Scandinavian flick early on so I'm going to be vicious. Now power hold the power hold the power hold the more power more power more power oh yes it's all about getting the car sideways and holding it by spinning those rear wheels I reckon that was impressed those fluorescent boys a total score of 12 for my first run oh yeah ply I can do better I can do better I can do better.
Next up, we have the BMW would Kon be able to deliver a drift worthy of its M badge traditionally the BMW M cars are really good at it but this one feels a bit strange the ster feels a bit different everything just feels a little bit different so let's see how we get on full donut let's see what the Marshalls have got yes twos well that's not very good is it but we'll have to have another go now I was a bit too much over the top last time so get flick M oh oh that's going to be a bit but that one that should be a 15 at least a five five a four a four in the middle who's that mean four still I'm I'm happy with that I'm happy with that again second again oh that was good I like that that was good kept it sideways I thought that was quite a good effort really that looked good but was it sideway always enough that's my question all right come on I'm coming up to the numbers now come on Marshals come on Marshals oh five5 five with two runs completed Kon had posted a slightly higher score which meant I had one last chance to avoid defeat in the drift test.
Oh he won't beat the drift King he's not going to beat the drift King oh that looked quite good oh that was quite good oh six six six six six six six six six it's the number of the Beast number of the devil nevertheless it was a maximum score one last go surely Kon would now crumble under my power sliding pressure oh that was good there was more sideways full of power mid Corner come on Marshals come on Marshals yes they agree it's 666 have you been bribing the judges oh I'm doing a bit of mat in my head I'm seeing a draw they say never argue with the referee's decision so I won't we all know the real result much however the RCF still managed to tie against an M car and that's impr impressive.
With two rounds completed, it also means the Lexus retains the overall lead. Find out later if it has the audacity to match the M4 on a hot lap as well come on back in come on back in stay with me stay with me Britain has more sports car builders than any other country in the world together they build sports cars for every need every pocket and every driving style.
