The Samsung R90: A Feature Phone Review

As I begin to review the Samsung R90, I'm immediately struck by its sleek design and build quality. The device looks really nice, with a solid feel that suggests it's built to last. However, my excitement is short-lived as I quickly realize that this phone is not without its flaws.

The first issue I encounter is trying to open the website on the mobile version of the R90. It appears to be a bit slow and unresponsive, and despite multiple attempts, I'm unable to get it to load properly. This is disappointing, especially considering the device's price point of around 6500. I decide to try out some other features to see if there are any redeeming qualities.

I take a closer look at the camera app and notice that it has a few useful settings, such as touch-to-focus and manual mode. However, when I go to video mode, all I can see is the size of the video file, with no options for adjustments or settings. This feels like a missed opportunity for Samsung to offer more features in this area.

I also try to access some camera effects, but it seems that the only option available is "over there". I'm not sure what this effect does or how to use it, and it doesn't seem like a particularly useful feature. I decide to move on and see if there are any other settings or options available in the browser.

Unfortunately, the browser on the R90 is also non-functional, which seems like a major flaw for a device that's supposed to be a flagship for feature phones. I'm really upset with what Samsung has done here, as it suggests that they may not have put enough effort into developing this phone.

If you're in the market for a new feature phone and are looking for something other than the R90, I would recommend considering other options. There are plenty of great devices on the market right now, including some excellent alternatives from brands like Nokia. For example, the Nokia End messages features long battery life, a decent-looking display, and a range of useful features that make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a feature phone.

Overall, I have to say that I'm disappointed with the Samsung R90. While it looks nice and has some useful settings, its poor performance in key areas like the browser and camera makes it feel like a half-hearted attempt at creating a flagship feature phone. If you want a device with a bit of flair and some useful features, there are plenty of other options available that I would recommend over this one.
