The 2025 GMC Yukon: A Refreshed and Refined Vehicle
GMC has recently revealed its updated 2025 Yukon, and it's clear that the company has made some significant changes to the trim lineup. The exterior of the vehicle has been refined, with each version getting unique patterns for the grill, headlights, and tail lights that get animation on startup and power off. This attention to detail is a hallmark of GMC's design philosophy, and it shows in the updated Yukon.
For those who prefer a more off-road-capable vehicle, the new AT4 Ultimate trim has been introduced. This version comes with 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, and improved ground clearance. However, for those who want to indulge in some luxury, the available Denali Ultimate model is fitted with massive 24-inch machine wheels that are sure to turn heads on the road.
One of the most notable features of the updated Yukon is its massive 16.8-inch infotainment display that's laid out vertically. This display has all the Google-built-in features that GM loves, and it also works seamlessly with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for backseat passengers. Additionally, an optional 8-inch display can be used to handle rear seat climate control.
The interior of the vehicle has been upgraded as well, with a new Obsidian Rush interior featuring full-grain leather and ash burl for the wood accents. The AT4 Ultimate trim also comes with an exclusive interior design, including an obsidian Rush interior with full grain leather and an ash Burl for the wood accents. Furthermore, shoppers can upgrade to the second-row executive seating package, which includes upgraded Captain's chairs, while the front seats get 16-way power adjustability, heating, ventilation, and massage functionality.
Under the hood, the base trim is now available on the Elevation model along with the AT4 comes standard with a 5.3L V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. However, the AT4 Ultimate Denali and Denali Ultimate models arrive with a bit more grunt thanks to the standard 6.2L V8 engine, which cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, an optional powertrain choice has been introduced for every trim level: a 3L Duramax turbo diesel that produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.
Safety features have also been improved, with GMC fitting the vehicle with a great list of standard safety tech. Furthermore, there's available night vision to help keep you safe in low-light environments, as well as thermal object detection, which is now available on many roads in the US and Canada. According to GM, this technology will be working on around 750,000 miles by the end of 2025.
The weight of the vehicle has also been a topic of discussion, with the Yukon XL weighing in at 5,772 pounds, just 200 pounds more than the BMW M5 Touring. While this may seem like a lot, it's clear that GMC is committed to providing its customers with a premium driving experience.
Finally, the price of the vehicle has not been officially announced yet, but based on previous models, it's likely that the Elevation will land under $70,000, while the Denali Ultimate will likely crest over that six-figure mark.
