Drifting my first E30 BMW!

**Adventures at the Airport and on the Track: A Day in Brad’s Life**

---

### Introduction

As you can see, we’re officially back in Connecticut with the rig, and I’ve got a crazy story to share. Believe it or not, I actually spent the entire day yesterday at the airport because my flight got delayed—over and over again. It was 4:30 PM when I arrived at the airport, and I was sitting on the plane until midnight when the pilot announced that his time was up and he legally couldn’t continue to follow us anymore. The flight had to be canceled due to gnarly winds, which also caused all other flights heading into New York to be taken out for the next day.

With no choice but to reschedule, I got a flight at 6:00 AM. To pass the time, I slept on a bench in the airport using socks as a pillow and my backpack straps under me to keep my stuff safe. I even tucked my phone underneath my arm on a charger so that if the alarm went off, I wouldn’t miss my flight. Let’s just say it was an unforgettable experience.

---

### The Airport Adventure

The same winds that caused my flight delays also blew off a lot of the pretty leaves around the airport. Timing couldn’t have been worse—I missed out on seeing a lot of them. To make it even more inconvenient, I picked the most scenic part to take this photo, and guess what? It doesn’t look like a legal “civilians” spot. Oops, that’s not going to work.

---

### The Drive Back to Connecticut

After finally catching my flight, I landed back in Connecticut. Bradley drove across the state to get my truck and trailer because I wanted to have a private day for drifting. I’ve been dying to drift with my skyline, so here we are!

---

### Technical Issues at the Track

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned when I got to the track. After just one lap, the car started feeling a little funny. It turns out that the tie rod was a bit bad. Since the car has a modified tie rod, I had to cut it in half. My hand almost died trying to do that—it was no bueno.

---

### Fun on the Track

Despite the challenges, we managed to have some fun. The steering felt light, and the car handled transitions very well. It wasn’t as powerful as I hoped, but it was easy to drive and zippy enough for me.

---

### Discovering the Issue with the Tie Rod

Here’s my theory: even though there’s a bump stop built into the wheel, it’s actually hitting the tie rod, causing it to bend. This happens when doing reverse entries because of all the flex in the system. It explains why Jimmy was having such a hard time driving—his car had two inches of toe out! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

---

### Future Plans for the Car

Unfortunately, this might be one of the last events for this car. We’re heading down to Florida for an open house, and I want all my cars (including the Evo and Porsche) to end up there eventually. Before that, though, I need to fix a few minor issues like a leaking drain back on the oil pan and a tire-out problem.

---

### Wrapping Up

To be honest, this has been a pretty exhausting day. Between dealing with the airport fiasco and filming all of this, I’m just happy I made it to the track at all. I’ll enjoy the roads and the last bit of driving I can do before bringing everything down to Florida on the back roads.

---

### Final Thoughts

Thanks to everyone for tuning in! We hope the footage turned out decent. Let us know what you’d like to see in the coming days—I’ll do my best, but it’s going to be a little hectic as we prepare for trips to Australia and Japan. Stay tuned for more adventures!

That’s all for now, folks! Keep an eye out for more updates on our journey with cars and life on the road.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enalright guys as you can see we're officially back in Connecticut with the rig and I've kind of got a crazy story so believe it or not I've actually spent the entire day yesterday at the airport because I had a flight and it got delayed and delayed and delayed and delayed got there 4:30 I was sitting on the plane until midnight when the pilot was like yo my time is up I legally can't follow you guys anymore they had to cancel the flight I guess there are some gnarly winds or something like that and all the other flights got taken the next day for going into New York which is where I was flying into so I wound up having to schedule another airline got a flight out at 6:00 a.m. slept in the airport on a bench until 6 a.m. to fly in head-of-line - Bradley drove across Connecticut to get my truck and trailer just because I want to have the stupid private day because I've been dying to drift so I got the skyline and we're gonna go drive a Jimmy also protip I put socks in a pair of shorts use that as a pillow slept with my backpack straps under me so no one could steal my stuff without me knowing and I like tucked my phone underneath my arm on a charger so the alarm would go off and I would have missed my flight great experience so the same wind that made me miss my flight also blew off a lot of the pretty leaves so I missed a lot of them but of course I picked the most scenic part to say that that doesn't look like a law civilians so pretty look it takes a little while though yeah yeah just slow slow I made it even I'm Brad slept on a bench just to be here thank you I'm happy here did you save me tires for the 30 yeah I've been I mean I've been playing it easy mr. tuner Oaks might help me diagnose a couple things on this before it heads back down to Florida Jimmy Marsh Jimmy so unfortunately because that wolf lay situation I've only got two hours at the track and after one lap the car is feeling a little funny he's got attacked yeah that tie rod she's a little bad so unfortunately this car has modified tie rod so I'm gonna have to like cut 1/2 length my hand just died all right that sucks that's no bueno no boy no now we just bend it back having fun there kid my neck hurts my back hurts but I'm having a great time everything's great no bad days baby we're in good company that matters yeah you think about me Adams it oopsy-daisy and forgot his rag spacer to be impossible to get this stupid in the back in the rack that's not a lot of friends we won't talk about it for you ooh well if you don't fix you could always drive the 30 grand I want you to drive this true true true true haha and so gangster buddy jokingly told Jimmy to film cuz I was gonna throw back because I did and I think it's the best thing I've ever done in our 32 it just worked the car feels so much better I think I've been driving with a bent tie rod for like the past two months because it feels like an entirely different car driving around I think i'ma driving with a messed up for a while I have no idea what to expect big breaths physics fun whoa sorry these brakes need to be glad like fun Wow I'm this is it's not me I promise and these brakes are a weird as you guys could see I got pretty comfortable in Jimmy's car very very fast but driving it around a bit more I started to really figure out the track it is a little bit underpowered so you just kinda have to get the perfect line to like this first corner here but it feels very good on transition very very easy to drive the steering is very light it's got plenty of torque needed a little bit of a clutch kick on transition which i think is good because it's a sign that the cars pretty gripped up maybe could use a little bit softer suspension to the brakes could use a little dial in but for my first 30 I've ever driven I was blown away how easy it was to drive and how fun and kind of zippy it was being such a little small nimble car so I definitely liked it I did a little bit of playing around with tandem inge but you guys will see in this clip I'm pretty sure that Jimmy's car has an M 50 in it and I believe that makes around 200 horsepower I will say compared to lead to like a 350z it feels very similar power wise and as you can see it hung with the Z pretty well although I would say that a 30 was a bit more fun because of how simple and quick it was on transition and how light and fun the steering felt here's my theory even though we have a bump stop built in my wheel is actually hitting this tie rod and that's what's bending it I think when I do those reverse entries there's so much flex that the wheel ends up hitting this even though it doesn't in the air or on the ground it ends up hitting the tie rod and it just destroys it so then the car drives like crap for the rest and that's why Jimmy was having a hard time because when this bends the car gets like a ridiculous amount of tow out and I probably do this it probably wasn't Jimmy but that's still crazy 32 drove so so my bump stop is in a line right and the wheel is smack in that tie rod no no because I test drove it and it drove amazingly and I know but what I'm saying is I mean I was throwing back he's like when I was testing it and I probably bent it again so look at it look at it look at my wheel dude oh my god that's crazy I was wondering why it fell so because I was struggling it would bind dude has probably got like two inches of toe our I know freakin exhausted like yeah well so just maybe in your video since you're gonna make my car look like poop you should disclaim that since I'm gonna be gone for a while this is probably going to officially be the last event but I'll drive our 32 add up here it is going down to Florida for this year's open house which is still kind of TBD for dates and announcements and everything I want to have all my cars in Florida once so this car is going to end up going down to Florida along with the Evo and the Porsche so I want to get one last run-in with it and unfortunately I found a few little weak points it's looking like my drain back for the oil pan is kind of leaking a little bit so I'll need to evaluate that I need to fix the tire out issue a couple other minor things but it was a decent testing day for me to figure out some more stuff with this car I know I definitely didn't do the best I was filming guys he would brag on this whole situation with airport and everything I'm low on sleep I'm happy I got to the track I gotta go to be a little bit before I leave for effort I'm just gonna enjoy the roads and the last bit of driving I can do the course before I bring it back down to Florida on the back roads so anyway let me know what you guys want to see you too for the last couple days to come out again I'll do my best but it is gonna be choked up a days I'm more focused on just spending time with friends and hanging out than anything and then we're off to Australia Japan so anyway thank you guys so much we'll be doing this little short video hopefully the footage turned out decent so anyway lateralright guys as you can see we're officially back in Connecticut with the
