Verizon iPhone 4 vs AT&T iPhone 4

**Verizon vs AT&T iPhone 4S: A Comparison**

One of the standout features of the Verizon iPhone 4S is its ability to do things that other phones can't. For instance, now let's go and move on to the networks themselves which obviously are going to be the biggest draw uh now here in the United States AT&T has decent service some places I will give it that but for a lot of places such as where I live it's really just just bad it's just really bad um whereas on Verizon they they have a lot better coverage than that I've found and a lot of other people kind of agree just depending on where you are Verizon does have really really solid coverage so that alone is going to be the number one thing if you get good AT&T service where you live um then that's probably going to be a good option and if you get good Verizon service that's going to be a good option so if you live in a place like I do where AT&T is terrible and Verizon's excellent it's going to be a no-brainer and likewise if it's AT&T is great and Verizon is terrible you're going to want to go ahead and go with that phone you know it doesn't matter if it's spe features this that price any of that what matters most is that if your phone is going to work or not so um in general I found that Verizon tends to work better in a lot more places than AT&T does um you shouldn't notice any major speed difference as far as on the Internet or anything like that although one thing I will give to AT&T's network and it's a fairly uh important thing is that on AT&T let's say you have your iPhone you're making a call and then you know you need to get on the internet you need to go look up something maybe you know you're on a call and you say hey let's go find a restaurant to eat dinner tonight you can do that you can do simultaneous voice and data usage on the Verizon iPhone this is not going to be the case if you're you're on a phone call you're not going to be able to get on the internet likewise if you're surfing on the Internet or anything like that you get a phone call you're going to have to get out of that and go over to the call um now this is not again this is not one of these huge deal breakers or anything like that but it is definitely something to keep in mind.

**Network Comparison**

The networks of both AT&T and Verizon are essential aspects of any smartphone experience. In terms of coverage, Verizon has a significant advantage over AT&T. In places where the author lives, Verizon's network provides better coverage than AT&T's. This difference in coverage can make a significant impact on the overall user experience, especially for those who rely heavily on their phone for communication and data access. On the other hand, AT&T does offer some advantages in certain areas, such as simultaneous voice and data usage. However, this feature is not available on Verizon's iPhone 4S, which may be a drawback for users who want to stay connected while browsing the internet or searching for information.

**Price Comparison**

In terms of price, both carriers will carry the iPhone 4S at $199 for the 16 GB model and $299 for the 32 GB model. However, the cost of service plans can vary significantly between the two carriers. AT&T offers a range of service plans, including unlimited data options, while Verizon's service plans are less detailed. The exact details of Verizon's service plans have not been publicly announced, but it is likely that they will be similar to their current lineup of smartphones.

**Verizon iPhone 4S Experience**

In terms of overall experience, the Verizon iPhone 4S offers several advantages over its AT&T counterpart. One of the most significant benefits is the phone's performance in areas with poor coverage. As mentioned earlier, Verizon has a strong network presence, which translates to better overall performance and more reliable connections. Additionally, the phone's simultaneous voice and data usage feature makes it easier for users to stay connected while browsing the internet or searching for information.

**Conclusion**

Ultimately, the decision between the Verizon iPhone 4S and the AT&T iPhone 4S comes down to personal preference and network coverage in your area. If you live in an area with poor AT&T coverage, the Verizon iPhone 4S is likely the better choice. On the other hand, if you have good AT&T service in your area, the iPhone 4S from that carrier may be a more affordable option. Regardless of which carrier you choose, the phone itself offers several benefits, including improved performance and reliability compared to its predecessors.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys so today I'm here with a comparison between the Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4 now that earlier this morning Verizon announced that they will be the second carrier in the United States to go ahead and pick up the iPhone 4 and it's actually going to be a little bit different it's not just the exact same phone they actually have made some pretty sizable changes to go ahead and support on the Verizon network so today I'm going to go ahead and go over all those changes both on the network side as well as just on these phones themselves to help you all make the best decision that you can about which one is going to be right for you uh so to begin with let's talk about the design now I do please keep in mind that this is not a you know comparison between you know the iPhone 4 on AT&T and the iPhone 5 or something like that I mean Verizon did not pick up anything special they have the iPhone 4 they both both phones are 99% identical there're just a few key differences so don't expect you know that uh you know Verizon the Verizon iPhone will have 4G support or anything like that it's just going to work on the same standard 3G network of Verizon just like the AT&T version runs on their 3G network um so some of the major things as far as the design goes is that the Verizon iPhone has a slightly different antenna now of course the AT&T iPhone has had a lot of issues as far as you know the antenna gate where you hold in a specific point it loses reception um now whether they change this or or whether they fix this or not is not entirely apparent however they have edited the antenna to go ahead and work hopefully a little bit better on the Verizon iPhone now has an extra little notch and they're actually kind of more sized up they kind of more symmetrical it does look a little bit nicer um but another thing is that this actually means that everything has been tweaked a little bit on the side so if you know with the uh volume buttons and the lock switch has been actually changed and lowered just a little bit now in reality this is probably not going to make a whole lot of difference however What will is that this should make a lot of current iPhone cases not work with the Verizon iPhone just because the buttons have been moved down just the smallest amount um now if you already have an iPhone on TNT and you're wanting to move over to Verizon this is going to be an issue because most maybe not all but most of your cases won't work and indeed the same way goes if you have a Verizon iPhone or you plan on buying one you obviously you're going to want a case to protect your phone a lot of the cases you know won't won't be really specific it'll work for the AT&T but not yours so that's definitely something to keep in mind although of course not the biggest deal in the world now as far as software goes again they are very very similar so you won't find any kind of vcast or any kind of Verizon specific apps on the Verizon iPhone just like you don't see anything on the AT&T however there is one key piece of software on the Verizon iPhone that should be very helpful which is it allows you to go ahead and use it as a mobile hotspot um so using this on the Verizon iPhone only you can go ahead and enable it up to five different devices to go ahead and connect through the Wi-Fi on your uh iPhone 4 on Verizon uh the way this works very simple if you've ever had a 3G card indeed a lot of other phones that tether um it works very similar simple you can go ahead and just plug in your you don't plug anything in but it all goes through Wi-Fi so maybe you have a game system like a PSP um an iPod a laptop um anything you want that has Wi-Fi it will go ahead and connect through your iPhone 4 and then go up and you can go ahead and get on the internet so you can go ahead and share that with several other devices um now they haven't said anything about the price it will be uh pre-loaded on all iPhones um now they haven't said anything about whether they will charge you extra for it which I'm fairly sure they will or you can go ahead and just use this for free so we'll have to see about that but but at any rate this is definitely a very nice feature that you can do on the Verizon iPhone U now let's go and move on to the networks themselves which obviously are going to be the biggest draw uh now here in the United States AT&T has decent service some places I will give it that but for a lot of places such as where I live it's really just just bad it's just really bad um whereas on Verizon they they have a lot better coverage than that I've found and a lot of other people kind of agree just depending on where you are Verizon does have really really solid coverage so that alone is going to be the number one thing if you get good AT&T service where you live um then that's probably going to be a good option and if you get good Verizon service that's going to be a good option so if you live in a place like I do where AT&T is terrible and Verizon's excellent it's going to be a no-brainer and likewise if it's AT&T is great and Verizon is terrible you're going to want to go ahead and go with that phone you know it doesn't matter if it's spe features this that price any of that what matters most is that if your phone is going to work or not so um in general I found that Verizon tends to work better in a lot more places than AT&T does um you shouldn't notice any major speed difference as far as on the Internet or anything like that although one thing I will give to AT&T's network and it's a fairly uh important thing is that on AT&T let's say you have your iPhone you're making a call and then you know you need to get on the internet you need to go look up something maybe you know you're on a call and you say hey let's go find a restaurant to eat dinner tonight you can do that you can do simultaneous voice and data usage on the Verizon iPhone this is not going to be the case if you're you're on a phone call you're not going to be able to get on the internet likewise if you're surfing on the Internet or anything like that you get a phone call you're going to have to get out of that and go over to the call um now this is not again this is not one of these huge deal breakers or anything like that but it is definitely something to keep in mind now the last thing I want to talk about is price uh upfront the price is going to be the same both carriers will carry it for $199 for the 16 gigabyte and $299 for the 32 GB models uh now where they do differ is the price of the of the you know service plans and all that kind of stuff um AT&T you can go ahead and check out I won't go through all they have a lot of different plans and all kinds of stuff like that um now actually we don't have any concrete information on the Verizon iPhone plan although I do assume it will be very similar to their current lineup of smartphones I don't really they haven't really said anything about if they're going to change it and if they would I would imagine they would have said so um so in general expect that you will probably pay a little bit more for Verizon um but again it kind of comes down to you pay a little bit more but you do generally get a better Network uh so anyway guys that's it for my whole wrap up and comparison of between the Verizon and the AT&T iPhone 4S personally I'm going to go ahead and pick up myself a Verizon iPhone 4 um you know I really like the look of it I really like the Verizon coverage uh like I've said I hate AT&T around here a lot of places it really does not come in well so really this is going to be just a you know I'm going to probably stand in line and go get one for myself um however if you do want to hold back especially if you want to wait for the Verizon or AT&T or whatever they decide to the iPhone 5 or whatever that decide to call it to come out this summer I definitely don't blame you as that will probably be a new upgrade and that will cause you a lot of problems if you decide to buy it now so anyway guys thanks for watchinghey guys so today I'm here with a comparison between the Verizon and AT&T iPhone 4 now
