AMD 2700x and 2800X leaks, Nvidia GTC AI party and click bait? This week in the tech news

Here is the rewritten article:

I was actually really impressed with how the Ryzen 7000 series performed in terms of multi-core scaling compared to the Intel 8700K. It's not that it's necessarily a better CPU for gaming, but rather that it holds its own against the 8700K and even surpasses it in some benchmarks.

The thing is, 8,700 doesn't quite scale well with multi-core CPUs which means that yeah, it does perform better than the 8700K because it has two more cores there. There was another benchmark attached which I think was FutureMark so it's one of those synthetic benchmarks that also put the Ryzen 7000 X ahead of the 8700K.

Let's hope that this leaks actual performance and not just some rumors, but that would be amazing if it did perform better than 87, because then we can get a real price war going on for CPUs. At least with a good CPU, you can still have an amazing gaming rig without needing a GPU or more memory.

Now, there's been more information released about the upcoming GTC Nvidia event which should be very exciting. Although none of the information really points directly to a new gaming graphics card being released. More along the lines of every single person who has anything to do with AI is gonna descend on GTCC and they're gonna have like crazy workshops around how to best make Skynet.

I know that's an overused joke, but I can't actually think of another artificial intelligence joke. They're gonna try and develop Hal 9000 in an older sci-fi movie reference. Yes, they're gonna try and develop a gaming variant of the new GPU at GTCC. The only reference to it is from Tweak Town, which seems to be becoming a little bit susceptible to clickbait.

According to Tweak Town, so according to the headline from Tweak Town tells CEO laughs at AMD and says that Intel is the crowned monster. The thing is this sounds really controversial, having Dell go "hahahaha AMD you're terrible haha". But that's not actually what happened because in the article they talk about how like well it was just a very reasonable statement about how AMD is doing really well.

The thing is Intel has a huge variety of products and they have a very complete portfolio which means that including AMD CPUs in any of their pre-bolts and stuff doesn't seem like this much of a point to them for that. Because Intel just kind of covers all of their bases as it is at this point. So there was no laughing, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha mocking.

There was no let's start a company-wide like Ally battle not none of that's gonna happen. That was really disappointing I couldn't wait for like an anchorman style battle happening between Dell and AMD and then like Intel watches from the side because they're like capitalizing on how amazingly powerful they are in the tech world.

And then finally Microsoft is starting to try and make the Xbox more enticing to PC gamers. I guess this is what a PC gamer needs features so I think they see this as the perfect time to try and steal gamers from the PC master-race because well it's not going very well in the PC master-race nobody seems to want to deal with us anymore.

So yes, they've decided to in the spring update for the Xbox one S and Xbox one X. I don't know what the difference is between the two of them because I've never owned an Xbox but yes they're gonna allow 1440p gaming on an Xbox one S and/or X which is pretty cool.

Because it means that if you have like a high refresh rate 1440p monitor, you can play in not high refresh rate 1440p with your Xbox one S and/or X anyway.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome to another episode of this week in the tech news where it really seems like it's leak season because that's pretty much all there is to report on these days oh yeah I'm a little bit of clickbait okay so let's get straight into the leaks now earlier this week there was a leak of the supposed 2700 X which said that it was going to have a boost clock of up to 4.2 gigahertz which is up from the 3.8 gigahertz of the 1700 X now this doesn't seem like a huge boost especially considering that the max overclock all of her 1700 X was 4 gigahertz normally depending on how lucky you were with the actual CPU that you got but yeah that's not a very big increase and one of the things that makes that kind of suppose it increase it a little bit more worrying is that it seems like a lot of it is down to excess power boost 2 which is the kind of like CPU boost software that the processor uses and apparently exit part 2 is really good at squeezing out every last bit of performance from the CPU so let's hope that like that doesn't mean that the maximum overclock that the 2,700 X is gonna get is gonna be 4 point 2 gigahertz because that means we're just getting 200 megahertz more and that's not a lot but then just like 2 or 3 hours ago there was a leak posted about a higher-end CPU than the 2,700 X so the 2800 X I guess but this higher-end CPU is even more powerful and supposedly is gonna boost up to 4 point 3 to 5 gigahertz which is 125 megahertz more than the 2700 X that leaked 2,700 X now again this isn't a huge increase but they did attach kind of performance benchmarks with this leak whoever it was that wanted to leak it and in Cinebench it actually performed quite a lot better than the 8700 k from Intel which is a good sign but the thing is 8,700 not a cinnamon scales really well with multi-core CPUs which means that yeah it the 2800 X is going to perform better than the 8700 K because it's got two more cores there was another benchmark attached which I think was future mark so it was someone in one of those synthetic benchmarks which also put the 2800 X ahead of the 8700 K but again this is a leaked benchmark but let's hope that let's hope that it does actually perform better than 87 okay so that we can get a real proper price war going on so that at least CPUs are cheaper to get and then we can have like an amazing CPU and RPC just with without it GPU or or memory and you know we can still have a great time so there's been more information released about the up-and-coming GTC Nvidia event which should be very exciting although none of the information really directly points at there being a new gaming graphics card being released more along the lines of every single person that has anything to do with obviously have to beat Dell and then they like beat Dell down and then now I don't know does it mean the Dell has to use them when they've beaten them I I don't know and then finally Microsoft is
