INSANE RTX 3070 Gaming Setup 2021! [34' Ultrawide, LianLi O11D Build, Corsair K70 TKL & more!]

Setting Up the Ultimate Gaming Rig: A Comprehensive Review

As we embark on this comprehensive review of our ultimate gaming rig, it's essential to acknowledge the contributions of each component that makes up this powerful system. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU is a fantastic addition to this setup, providing exceptional performance and power efficiency. With its cutting-edge architecture and robust cooling system, it's clear why this card has earned a reputation as one of the best in the industry.

Moving on to the monitor, the ASUS VG34VQR-P is a phenomenal display that perfectly complements our gaming rig. Its 34-inch HDR 144Hz panel offers an unparalleled level of immersion and visual fidelity, making it an ideal choice for gamers who demand the best. With its sleek design and RGB lighting, this monitor is a feast for the eyes, making it a must-have for any serious gamer.

The MSI Gaming Mouse Clutch is another standout component that deserves special mention. This mouse is a masterpiece of engineering, featuring a 12,000 CPI sensor, ergonomic design, and durable construction. Its performance is unmatched, providing precise and accurate tracking even at high frame rates. With this mouse, gamers can expect lightning-fast reflexes and pinpoint accuracy.

Now that we've set up our core components, let's bring in the monitor and boot up the entire system to see how it looks when everything is powered on. As we watch the setup come to life, it's clear that ASUS has done an exceptional job with this particular model, featuring a sleek design and premium build quality.

As we dive into the world of gaming, our first title is Overwatch, a game that's well-suited for high-frame-rate setups like ours. With the MSI Gaming Mouse Clutch providing pinpoint accuracy and our brand-new mouse delivering lightning-fast reflexes, we're ready to take on the competition. We're sitting at 3440 x 1440 with an ultra preset and frame rate capped at unlimited, resulting in a smooth 160 frames per second.

Next up is Cyberpunk, a game that showcases our system's capabilities. With DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) enabled, we're able to maintain a stable frame rate of around 80 frames per second, even with the game's challenging graphics settings. While ray tracing is disabled, the performance remains impressive, demonstrating the power and efficiency of our NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.

Finally, we move on to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, a notoriously demanding experience for gaming rigs. With medium-high settings, we're able to maintain a steady frame rate of around 90 frames per second, thanks in part to the effectiveness of our DLSS technology. By tweaking some graphics settings and disabling ray tracing, we're able to push the game to its limits without sacrificing performance.

In conclusion, this setup is an absolute beast, delivering exceptional performance and visuals that cater to even the most demanding games. With its NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU, ASUS VG34VQR-P monitor, and MSI Gaming Mouse Clutch, gamers can expect nothing but the best from their gaming experience. For those interested in building a system like this for themselves, we've gathered performance figures and benchmark data in our dedicated build video, which can be accessed in the description below.

Performance Figures:

* Overwatch: 3440 x 1440 @ Ultra preset, 160 FPS

* Cyberpunk: 3440 x 1440 @ Medium settings, 80 FPS (DLSS enabled)

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat is up guys welcome no no no this is not gonna work this is not gonna work ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another geeker what video and in today's video we're gonna be building an absolutely insane gaming setup i've got a brand new keyboard from corsair i've got a brand new ultrawide monitor from cooler master and i've got a brand new wireless mouse from msi and if that wasn't enough we've gone ahead and built an insane rtx 3070 gaming pc in liam lee's 011d mini that's packed with some brand new components but a lot more on that later make sure to get subscribed if you aren't already but let's dive into it today's video has been made possible by manscaped manscape.com is the only men's brand dedicated to below-the-waist grooming and hygiene geeker20 on your screen now when you shop at manscaped quick outfit change okay it's quite warm in here right and let's keep today's setup off actually by taking a look at the pc and then we'll jump through all of the different peripherals one by one at the heart of this system we've got a powerful ryzen 7 5800x not only fantastic for gaming but also great if you wanted to get into editing streaming or just do something a little bit different we've also gone for an rtx 3070 graphics card which is a great gpu regardless of rumors around potential new releases the nvidia might add to their lineup we also know how hard it is to get hold of a 3000 series card right now which is why we recently launched a playlist of builds which are in stock so go and check those out in the card section now with a 360 mil all in one liquid cooler there's some great overclocking headroom as well and corsair's capellix rgb technology is everywhere in this system giving us some really bright rgb which you can learn more about in the description below 32 gigabytes of corsair's dominator platinum rgb ram gives us that fast dual channel memory performance with an aesthetic that is second to none and is really showcased through the lienly 011d mini case this mini version isn't actually all that mini although it is a bit more compact it is a bit more manageable on a desk and still supports full-size atx motherboards which is where the motherboard choice for our build comes in nzxt's new n7 b550 board you can get it in either a black or a white and i think it looks amazing if white gpus were easier to get hold of i probably would have gone for a white motherboard too but because rtx cards it's just a case of buy whatever you can find i think the black design in this build looks pretty nice now we've got a powerful system that's set up really well for 1440p and even 4k gaming but what monitor should we go ahead and pair the build with today well i've got something very exciting a brand new release from caller master yes you heard me right cooler master of all people for as long as i can remember cooler master have talked about entering the monitor game i think it was actually the last ces or computex they first announced monitors and bearing in mind we haven't even had a ces or computex for like two years and so cooler master have had this in the works for a long time and it comes with some impressive specs a 3440 by 1440 resolution is pretty standard for high-end ultrawide monitors but with a one millisecond response time good start and a 144 hertz refresh rate this thing is not messing about often when you look at ultrawide monitors you get the extra resolution but don't always get the extra refresh rate or the quick response times and cooler master appear to have delivered what's more hdr support as well is built-in which is gonna be really interesting so this monitor seems to tick all of the boxes and here it is now this thing is quite this spectacle you really can see just how curved it is especially when looking from a side on angle it's absolutely massive as well with that 34 inch form factor and it provides a really immersive gaming experience what's more you get some really nice bits of attention to detail the stand is actually the outline of the cooler master logo which is quite a nice touch and if you spin around to the rear of the monitor you'll see a pretty unusual stand design normally when it comes to monitors if you want to rotate them the stand will twist but here it's actually the head of the stand that moves and allows you to really orient the monitor just how you'd want it it's really low profile it's really sleek and simple and with some nice cooler master branding and rgb built into the rear on paper this thing's pretty impressive we will of course have to find out for sure though once we go ahead and build the wider setup up but i'm really excited to see cooler master finally enter the monitor game corsair maybe it's your turn next first let's continue to build the setup out and move on to the mouse pad next door this is corsair's brand new mm700 rgb and it's more of a desk pad than a mousepad to be honest with you it still has all the great mousepad characteristics though with really smooth tracking for our mouse and it will do a great job of protecting the desk with rgb and a usb passthrough as some really nice added extras now i've got the mousepad but we need a mouse to actually track onto it and that is where these come in now a few weeks ago msi very kindly sent me their new gm41 it's a lightweight wired gaming mouse and to be honest with you i thought pretty cool but i hadn't really taken it out the box until this arrived the clutch gm41 lightweight wireless mouse now i really like wireless peripherals wherever i can find them obviously the latency needs to be really good which is where something like this comes in and we'll touch on that later but i really like the feeling of not having any wires and for a really light weight mouse having a wire can actually add perceived weight now of course mice get around this with quite lightweight flexible bungee cables but there is something great about being able to move that mouse as fast and wherever you like especially when you've got low dpi settings on to try and get more accuracy in fps games like fortnite or apex or especially valorum this gm41 as well comes with quite a cool little dock which we're going to take a look at in a moment i've got to come clean with you guys i have actually been using this mouse as my daily driver for over a week to test it out and make sure it was really good enough for today's setup so here's the mouse itself very similar as we'll see in a moment to the gm41 wired version because essentially they're the same mouse right but looks pretty good nice and grippy on the sides pretty lightweight as well and you've got these really nice tracking pads all along the mouse at the bottom not just at the top and the bottom but all the way across that bottom surface so it's gonna track really quite nicely that's not it though you actually get an all-in-one charging and wireless dongle station so this is gonna plug in via usb and allows you to really easily charge the mouse up and that brings us on to the final components of the setup today the headset but first the keyboard this is corsair's brand new k70 rgb tkl this is part of their new champion series and i am a massive massive fan i love tenkeyless keyboards anyway i'm not personally someone who really ever uses the number pad in fact i don't actually remember the last time i did so something like this for me is perfect they have brought out as well a new 60 design it's too low profile it's too slim down i really like having the arrow keys and dedicated number keys and fn keys for me that's just a better way of doing things double shot pvt keycaps as well i mean it's super durable and genuine cherry mx switches are a huge plus and in my opinion a necessity when it comes to higher end setups like this one finally then the last part of the setup is the headset and this is the asus rog delta it's available in either wired or wireless variants but either way it's a fantastic choice with some really bright rgb on the ear cups great sound quality and 7.1 surround sound allowing you to hear all around you in some of the latest games out there it's a great choice the high-res audio as well is no joke as this thing sounds seriously impressive for a gaming headset the premium design comfortable rgb headband and some in-line controls for both your volume and for your rgb it's a fantastic choice really really great headset and asus have done a really fantastic job on this one with that being said though that pretty much rounds up our core setup components let's bring the monitor in a little bit and move me out the way and then boot the whole setup up to see really just how good it looks when it's all powered up i wouldn't normally do it at this stage in a set up video but before we dive into the benchmarks why don't we enjoy a little bit of a montage of this setup all booted up and ready to go with its abundance of rgb and premium design aesthetics see you in a second and don't go anywhere but roll the montage i felt good awesome stuff so we've seen how good our setup looks once it's you know all booted up and ready to go but what's it like gaming on a 34-inch hdr 144 hertz monitor well i'll tell you something it's a bit of a spectacle i've dived into a little bit of overwatch first off because it's well suited to the high frame rate setup with of course our brand new msi first person shooter mouse and pretty fantastic so far if we take a quick look at some of the settings that we've got going on in the video tab we're sitting at 3440 by 1440 21x9 with the ultra preset and our frame rate uncapped basically set to unlimited you can see from the fps graph we're sitting around about 160 frames a second which is not too bad even if my team are getting absolutely smoked right now in overwatch having the extra peripheral vision that a 21 9 monitor affords you is a massive bonus and overwatch as the first game we've tested today looks absolutely fantastic with that in the bag i'm really intrigued to see how cyberpunk performs we're running at kind of medium settings there or thereabouts with nvidia's dlss tech on auto this should help to increase the frame rate and then of course we're running at 3440 by 1440 so let's dive into the game that's looking pretty good so far no ray tracing of course i think the frame rate is just gonna tank a little bit too much at this resolution but the game's looking pretty good currently sitting around about 80 frames a second in msi afterburners river tuna it kind of goes without saying in cyberpunk that the fps is just not going to stay this high all of the time the game is a little bit too unstable for that but we're still sitting at nearly 100 frames a second so not a bad result really and i think it looks visually actually really fantastic so good work all around the next title we're going to try out today then is a little bit of call of duty's black ops cold war specifically single-player zombies mode to see what kind of numbers we're able to get so at the moment we're sitting around about 90 frames a second not too bad not too bad this is medium to high settings and i'll pull the settings display up in just a second's time once we're a little bit more in the clear the dryer on the home run and there's less risk of dying so let's take a look at the settings if we look at the graphics we're sitting around about high across the board uh really we have of course got ray tracing disabled and we are using dlss just to try and increase our frame rate a little bit let's tune one or two of these settings down and just see if that has any impact really for us whoa a bit of a slideshow there but we're back in the game looking good at this ultra wide aspect ratio performance wise the game is absolutely solid and as i say looks fantastic on our cooler master ultra wide monotech get out of here ladies and gentlemen get out of here don't think so buddies clear off out you go move out the way and you what you doing over there mate as i say though performance is pretty good and the game looks great it's not only call of duty's black ops cold war though that this setup really performs well in if you'd like to see the full gaming benchmarks for this system check out the dedicated build video in the card section now but otherwise i'll put on your screen some performance figures that we gathered in fortnite apex legends valerian and many more so if you want to build this system and this setup for yourself you can be pretty sure of just how it's going to perform but on that note that pretty much wraps it up for today's setup video if you like this cooler master monitor new msi clutch gaming mouse or any of the other components discussed today they'll be linked down in the description below thank you very much for watching though and as always we'll see you in the next one\n"
