Apple Could Soon Be Releasing iOS 14.8 to the General Public

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel and Apple could soon be releasing iOS 14.8 to the general public. Yes, you heard that right - iOS 14.8 could be released and Apple could be working on this software. But don't worry in this video I'm going to break down everything that suggested Apple will be doing this and why Apple could be releasing iOS 14.8 not to mention Apple has never released a 0.8 update for a software but this year 14.8 could change the way iOS operates forever.

The first off, by Branding Shucks on Twitter was first discovered that inside of Xcode 13 there's reference to iOS 14.8. Also later confirmed by Nine to Five Mac with also announced that there's some analytics found that suggests that Apple is indeed working on the software update now. While this may seem odd as I mentioned Apple uh did release a software last year 13.7 before 14 so this year releasing 14.8 before iOS 15 makes a lot of sense.

Now, you may remember earlier this year before Apple releasing iOS 14.5 they were testing a feature which will let you update the security of your iPhone without having to update the iOS software okay so you can stay on 14.8 for example and still update the security. As it sits right now within iOS if we go to settings we head on over to general software updates and then we go to automatic updates. Right now if we click this on we have two options download iOS update or install iOS updates so you have the option to download the software but not install it until you manually do it or install the software automatically after downloading it.

But earlier this year with iOS 14.5 I think it was about two weeks Apple was testing this new method as you can see right here these look entirely different obviously this one says download iOS update install iOS update and the beta software earlier this year said download a new update and install security updates so essentially what iOS 14.8 could be changing within iOS and as I mentioned this could be one of the biggest change in forever for iOS is that Apple for the first time could be allowing users to install security updates so that your device is patched and secure while retaining the same operating system.

So, if you don't want to update to the latest iOS this time of course iOS 15 brings a ton of improvements but a lot of users just kind of like to hold back and keep their devices on an older operating system and iOS 14.8 could be one of those biggest changes within iOS in forever that could change the way these software operates and hopefully Apple will do this I think it is a great idea. I would like to hear from you again apple has never released a 0.8 update but it does make sense because last year we did see a minor update before a major release so this could be happening.

In terms of release dates when could we expect 14.8 well let's go ahead and take a quick guess here right now Apple is working with iOS 15 betas of course in the next beta is expected sometime this week so Apple could be working on releasing maybe a couple betas for iOS 14.8 maybe starting on the week of the 16th so next week August the 16th we could start seeing the first beta for iOS 14.8 before an official launch maybe late August early September and maybe iOS 15 official release late September.
