The Master Bathroom Reveal: A Dream Come True
I think if we didn't have a statement tile in here it would have just been too boring with just marble so I'm glad we did a pretty statement tile. This is the shower niche and I just wanted something small and minimal because I don't keep a lot of products in here, I like to keep it very clean. Here is my beauty, the standalone tub. This was quite the endeavor to get in here but I'm glad now that it's here, I have already taken a few baths in here and it is just next level, perfect for self-care.
This is the fixture that Ryan picked out for here and I just love it again, I mean he was totally right, the fixtures make a big difference and this one also has the handheld attachment which is great for rinsing out your hair. Here is the chandelier for above the tub, I'm still trying to decide if it would look better a little bit lower down or if it's good higher up like this, let me know what you think. You can see we took the tile all the way up the wall and across the walls here, you know why not so this mirror was a little bit of a point of contention but I had a vision, I wanted one of these light-up mirrors because they give the best lighting, these are the mirrors you often find in hotels and I love it for getting ready, you can adjust the temperature of the light from a warm to a cool to neutral.
These faucets were inspired by the picture I originally saw on Pinterest, these are I think vintage-style but they're by Brisio and they just give another little fun design element. Here and for the countertop it's just called Arctic White Quartz, now I do want to say I still need to kind of decorate up here, probably going to put some flowers or decor items I didn't quite have time before filming this video. This vanity is actually the only thing in here that we kept, we were going to replace it but I thought you know what, it's fine, let's just repaint it so this is the color Chelsea Gray, I think by Bear Paint.
Moving on to the toilet room which I rarely ever show because it's a toilet in a room, but we did spruce this area up had it repainted, we painted these shelves which again need to be kind of styled and we did get a new toilet, and then actually I think I've ever shown this but behind here we have more bathroom storage and we had these painted as well. They were the dark brown before now.
This was a last-minute addition to the bathroom that I decided I wanted, and this is my vanity area where I get ready in the morning because I don't like getting ready standing up so I wanted an area where I could sit down, keep all of my makeup, so we just have that Arctic White Quartz here, I got another light-up mirror because again it is the best lighting for doing makeup and getting ready, and then we have this little vanity built-in with just a few drawers because I have a very small makeup collection and this is a small space anyway.
Now I do still need to get a nice stool for right here and I need to organize and put all of my stuff back in now. The last thing that I am trying to decide is if I want to put crown molding on top or just leave it clean and simple like this, so I'm gonna have you guys vote down below, you saw the guest bathroom and how the molding looks, I do think it does elevate it but the ceilings are lower here so I don't know if it would work or look as good in this bathroom, so definitely let me know your opinion down in the comments.
So that is the master bathroom all finished finally, I think it was definitely worth the wait and all of the trouble that it took to get here because this is something that I will enjoy every single day for as long as we are here. So that is the big reveal, so let me know what you guys think of the new bathrooms, I know they're not going to be everyone's taste, they're very like hello marble but we love them especially for what we were looking for, I think they turned out great, I love them, I'm really going to appreciate them and now when I shower I feel like I'm taking a vacation because that's the closest thing to a vacation that I'm gonna get for a very long time.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome back to my channel so this is the video i didn't know if i would ever be able to film but finally the day is here i can reveal to you guys our new bathrooms we completely got renovated two bathrooms in our house the master bathroom and also the guest bathroom downstairs and oh my goodness they're over the top they're gorgeous we love them of course they're not going to be everyone's style but we love them so to start this video i'm going to show you how the bathrooms looked before there's nothing wrong with these bathrooms i think they are totally fine but they were about 23 years old they are the original bathrooms in this house and they had this tile that had a lot of grout around it and the grout was just getting dirty and i didn't like that style in general oh also along the way i'm gonna have ryan popping in and giving his perspective and thoughts now if you are new here to my channel please take a minute to subscribe i do videos on home and lifestyle and different hacks and fun things so i would love to have you and with all of that said let's get started with demo day one thing that was really interesting about the day they came in and took everything out of the bathrooms i mean everything we got renovated these guys is the process was really fast they were in and out within maybe half a day for both bathrooms so that was a lot faster than i expected now the vibe we were going for with the new bathrooms was white bright light clean and i wanted kind of a high-end hotel bathroom feel because those are always my favorite bathrooms when i go to hotels the lighting is always great i was going for the type of bathroom to where you walk in to use the toilet and you got to sit there and think wow am i meeting the right dress code in here should i have changed should i put a tie on i'm talking fantasia disney on ice i'm talking you know like go big or go home like i wanted to actually not use tile but actual chandelier crystals and the way we decided to do it so we didn't butt huds was i was more so in charge of the master bath and ryan was more so in charge of the guest bathroom downstairs i mean obviously we collaborated yeah yeah it was a collaborative effort let's be honest i'm the real visionary so the cornerstone of both of the bathrooms was the tile you will see we have tile on the floor on the walls i mean not on the ceiling but ryan thought about it yeah at one point i wanted to put tile in the ceiling that's where brittany drew the line though tiled ceilings come on people i knew i wanted a marble look when we went into the tile store i quickly realized that real marble out of the budget okay very expensive what we ended up going with was a polished porcelain tile in the very large size i believe they're 18 by 40 or 20 by 40. i'll put the exact tile down below because these are perfect and they were so affordable where things kind of took a left turn is when we were looking at the accent tile we went to this very large tile store they had a great selection of specialty tile that we can use as kind of an accent just to spice up the bathrooms right so i was perfectly fine with these tile samples that we had there ryan who tends to be a little bit more extravagant than me they just weren't doing it for him they weren't special enough okay that first tile place we went to uh it was okay we had to upgrade we had to step it up so i called my friend who was a designer and she took us to another tile place that had these beautiful specialty tiles long story short i read the price of the tile wrong by a decimal point so that can give you a sense for how much we blew the budget on this specialty tile in my defense my vision has become very poor since being pregnant so i just didn't see it there next little thing that came up was the fixtures so kind of the faucets the shower heads things like that at this point in the remodel i mean things were getting way over budget so i'm like no i've had enough we've spent way too much money i'm just going to get generic showerhead and fixtures budget ones from home depot like the least expensive ones i can find i'm like a shower head is a shower head right a shower head is not just a shower head no no no she was gonna put in these hideous fisher price toy fixtures in the vision and i have to say in the end i will admit where i'm wrong because i would say my favorite element of the entire bathroom is the shower head like i never in a million years would have thought that a shower head would make such a difference like the way the water flows the way it feels is just luxury it's amazing another thing i'll just have to mention is that a lot of time is passing here as this bathroom is getting done originally we were told it would be three weeks and then in the end it ended up being about 12 weeks so now we're gonna talk about the biggest disaster that happened in here so ryan had it set that he wanted tray ceilings downstairs and he communicated this to the contractor somehow things got lost in translation and we ended up with something called cove lighting or it's uplit crown molding we were both gone because i was giving birth to capria's at the hospital for a couple days and that's when this was installed and oh my gosh i walked in and i'm like what is this this is hideous and the worst part is that they had drilled into the beautiful tile it just to me looked very unfinished the gap was too large between the molding and the ceiling it just it looked bad it made it look like a cheap vegas strip club bathroom what do you know about a cheap vegas strip club bathroom nothing so we had to go back and get that removed and once we got it removed there's big holes in the downstairs bathroom he decided to cover it up with different crown molding just regular molding and upstairs i decided to have the holes patched and you can't really tell unless you're really really looking for it that there were holes there okay so now i'm going to show you the after how both of the bathrooms turned out and then i'll give you a little tour of all of the elements in them so we'll start downstairs with the guest bathroom to remind you this is how it looked before so now i'm going to take you through this bathroom and kind of talk through some of the elements so we're going to start here with this vanity this was completely redone brand new and we have the chelsea gray color we put on new handles and knobs just to modernize it and then we have the arctic white quartz countertop the beautiful fixtures and you'll notice that the fixtures and mirrors and things are different down here than upstairs but these are really pretty brazil fixtures the simple sink and then back here is where we have the gorgeous mosaic accent tile which makes a little statement in here so it's not just all marble and ryan decided to go with the mirror and sconce combo now we have this porcelain tile that looks like marble not only on the floors but all the way up on the walls to the ceiling we really went there with this tile and it's completely lining the shower all the way up to the ceiling again and this wall on the left so it's all marble in here then let's talk about this shower so you may remember from before there used to be a wall here we busted out this wall and have the glass shower now which i think looks a lot nicer so we have these really pretty penny tiles that are lining the floor and they kind of reflect the light they're really pretty and for the niche in here we have an accent of that mosaic tile which i think is really pretty and ties together that side of the bathroom and then these are the fixtures that ryan picked out for down here their brizio showerhead and then also the hand shower and last thing in here is the toilet this is new and what i like about this one is it has the option here you can either do a small flush or a larger flush so that helps preserve water oh wait i can't forget about this chandelier this was kind of a last minute element and we weren't sure if we needed the chandelier or not ryan felt like it was the crown jewel on his masterpiece and also i forgot to mention this is where the crown molding is to cover up that cove lighting and the holes that were here and i think it looks really nice especially because the ceilings are so high this room could really pull off the thicker crown molding this is six inch crown molding so here is the final look at the downstairs guest bathroom aka ryan's bathroom aka liberace's bathroom that's what we call it because it's a little over the top it's a bit much but you know we love it now here is the master bathroom before just to remind you how everything looked in here and here is the after of the master bathroom so now i'm going to walk you through the bathroom area by area just to point out some certain things i haven't talked about yet so we're going to start with my favorite part which is the shower with the gorgeous tile i just love it so much i love the way it turned out so you can see how it all looks put together these are the famous fixtures that we had quite the discussion over but again i'm so glad we went with these they're by brizio i think if we didn't have a statement tile in here it would have just been too boring with just marble so i'm glad we did a pretty statement tile this is the shower niche and i just wanted something small and minimal because i don't keep a lot of products in here i like to keep it very
