Selling the Aston Martin Rapide, Along with 5 other Cars! (and I'm Happy about it)
The Thrill of the Drive: A Car Enthusiast's Joyride
As I stepped behind the wheel of my prized possession, a 1989 BMW 325iX, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. The car had been freshly restored, with a new clutch and engine overhaul, and it was ready to hit the open road. With its five-speed manual gearbox and rare all-wheel drive model, this E30 was a rare gem that I was determined to keep. However, as much as I loved the car, I knew I needed the money it would bring in. So, I decided to put it up for sale on Cars and Bids, with no reserve.
The experience of selling my beloved cars has been quite the adventure. When I purchased the 51 Ford Country Squire and the 66 Mustang, I had high hopes that they would increase in value over time. And, indeed, they have. The Country Squire, in particular, has become a collector's item, with its rare features and low mileage making it a highly sought-after vehicle. As for the Mustang, its sleek design and V8 engine make it a head-turner on the road.
I must admit that I've always been drawn to Lamborghinis. There's something about their sleek design and powerful engines that speaks to me. However, as much as I love these Italian supercars, they can be quite expensive to maintain. That's why I'm trying to sell some of my Lamborghini collection on Cars and Bids. The 89 BMW 325iX is the latest addition to this list, with its rarity and well-preserved condition making it a highly sought-after vehicle.
As I looked around the Hooptie Hanger, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. This storage facility has been my go-to spot for parking some of my cars, especially when I've had too many projects on the go at once. It's a great place to overflow with vehicles that don't quite fit in my main collection. Recently, they even had a party here, which was a fun surprise.
Speaking of parties, I recently had 100 guests come over to take some photos of my cars, including the 51 Ford Country Squire and the 66 Mustang. It's always great to share my passion with others and show them just how beautiful these vehicles can be. The Mercy logo on my Lamborghini collection is also a point of interest for many enthusiasts. While I'm trying to keep most of my Lamborghinis, there are a few that won't make the cut.
As I walked through the Hooptie Hanger once again, I couldn't help but think about the cars that have come and gone from my collection. There's always something new to look forward to, whether it's a rare find or a new project car waiting to be restored. With the 89 BMW 325iX now listed on Cars and Bids, there are five more vehicles in this collection, each with its own unique story to tell. Whether you're an automotive enthusiast or just someone who appreciates beauty, these cars are sure to captivate.
The Bentley Turbo R is another car that's currently for sale on Cars and Bids. While it may not be as common as some of my other vehicles, this stunning supercar has its own unique charm. With its sleek design and powerful engine, it's a true gem that's worth taking a closer look at. However, be warned: owning a Bentley can come with its own set of challenges, from maintenance costs to parking headaches.
My dad's Trans Am and the old conversion van are two other cars that have made appearances on my collection. The Trans Am is a classic American muscle car that never fails to turn heads, while the conversion van is a true oddity – or so I thought! After restoring it, it turned out to be a rare gem in its own right.
As for the Apollo 911, I'm not quite sure what happened with that one. It's always been a bit of an enigma, and I'm still not entirely sure why I bought it in the first place. That being said, it's definitely made some appearances on my collection – albeit briefly. The car that eventually took its place was sold to another prominent YouTuber who loves collecting "sloppy seconds" (as he puts it). It's always entertaining to see these cars find new homes, even if they're not with me.
And so, here we are. With the 89 BMW 325iX now listed on Cars and Bids, my collection is down to six vehicles – three that I'm selling, and three that I'm keeping. It's a delicate balance between maintaining my passion for cars and keeping up with the demands of everyday life. But hey, when you're passionate about something as much as I am, it doesn't always feel like work!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to cards and bids the cardiff welcome to cars and bids the smartest place to sell and buy your modern enthusiast a modern enthusiast car this is much harder welcome to hooves garage the dumbest on my channel on all of youtube i can set up my sleep that but a really really nice low mileage yes it's much easier to do my traditional intro than something else i'm pretty set in my ways but another very easy thing for me to do was to sell or i am selling six cars a few of them on cars and bids no reserve we'll get into that in a little bit uh but the reason for that intro with the purple porsche no i'm not selling it i'm doing some buyers guides on cars and bids youtube channel should be checking that out here in the next week or two hopefully they will be up but the focus of today's video is a hooptie fleet update of the non-broken cars mostly or the functional cars here at home and the six that i've already gotten rid of or will be getting rid of and one of them was a very easy decision right frank yes come come here come come frank come say hello to youtube because you're part of the reason why i got rid of one of the cars so frank loves to do the school run it is very important for a herding dog to feel like they have a job and his job of hurting the children to school is very very important to him so when i first got the aston martin repeat it was easy for me to haul the baby to school in the old car seat and the dog did not come along but when frank did start coming along to the school run he didn't fit in that car so it kind of sat to the side unfortunately the repeats interior is pretty cramped there's two seats in the front two seats in the rear he couldn't stand up in the rear cabin area the rear storage area so i quit driving it and then i really quit driving it when my baby liam upgraded to the one-year-old car seat and it had no hope of fitting in the repeat so it went from being basically my main daily driver to a car i almost never used so when a friend of mine reminded me that he really really wanted it it was an easy sell it wasn't something i wanted to keep as an extra fun car and really for a sporty sedan a special occasion the 740i sport which we will be driving today it seems more sporty and fun to drive even though it has less horsepower i know it's hard to believe and the technology in this car is dated to where it's cool now whereas the repeat is just dated and it feels old with the infotainment a little frustrating and i wasn't looking forward to the long-term ownership prospects of that car may not appreciate much but as far as fixing things it's a little more difficult than say an older bmw in addition it has a full-size back seat three seats where the dog could ride the mother-in-law could ride she also goes to school every day with me and the baby to see them off i can't believe i'm saying this about a bmw but it's a much more practical vehicle in that sense as well so that's why it's easy for me to make the decision to sell the very expensive repeat 43 000 almost what i paid for it is what i sold it for and keep this the other reason why i'm so motivated to sell the repeat and uh five other cars one was another very easy decision is because of this the countage and the diablo that i bought on new year's eve back in 2020 they say having kids ruins your life in the best possible way and that is very true your life as you know it has changed for the good mostly good and bad forever you have to give up some things to have children obviously and the same can be said for lamborghinis buying two lamborghinis can ruin your finances in the best possible way i had big plans for 2021 to be debt free with cars paid off all of my auto loans and i set up pretty well to pay the hefty tax bill until i stroked a check for this car and the diablo in a two-for-one deal that nobody could pass up because the prices were so good that i could sell one of these cars and pay for the other one have a buy one get one free the problem is i'm a complete and i can't sell either car right now because i like them so much so i'm kind of in a bad position i don't have enough money to pay uncle sam come april 15th or if that gets delayed and still in crippling debt with loans on other vehicles so i may end up hawking one of these cars but maybe i'll make it to the finish line if i sell enough vehicles one other car that was a very easy one to sell was my gl 320 cdi that i made a video on a few weeks ago talking about how horrible it was i sold it for five thousand dollars sold it for a loss that was a great car to get rid of but then when the g55 started leaking and the battery draining thing kind of happened it needed to get fixed so i needed a school run car because i have to haul baby my daughter the mother-in-law the dog and that requires well something with a third row seat or an suv so i've bought something that i will unveil in the next video my first official purchase of 2021 all the other cars have unveiled this year were bought before uh the lambos happens uh we'll unveil that in the next video like i said but today we're going to focus on what cars are going what cars are staying we're also going to check in with the ninja on a car that is completed and then head over to the hangar to check on another couple of cars that i'm selling what i've been trying to sell for a while but it's been quite difficult frank do you want to show people cars okay well all the cars in here i am keeping i don't want to sell any of them including the 740i sport i love this car it's my favorite bmw well i don't really like bmws and i also love the touch not saying that the purple porsche you're wondering oh why it's down well it's down because i was doing a buyer's guide video on 996 portion 911's that will unveil on the cars and bids channel assuming daddy doug approves next to it is my porsche 550 spider replica powered by a subaru hooptie four-cylinder engine with 150 000 miles on it that's been refreshed i love this car and now it shows that i can actually fit 13 cars in my garage in a pinch there was a chance of hail yesterday so i really packed them in you can get six with the lifts three here and four across this way 13 cars in the garage somehow that's not enough because of my compulsive buying tenancies but continuing up here my plymouth prowler 1999 not going anywhere i've driven that car in months but i really like looking at it underneath my ferrari 348 still my favorite car i love this thing a hundred thousand miles in hoopty to no end but it's not going anywhere above here is another ferrari the car trek four five six more on that one that unveils in about a month below it is the bentley azure formerly owned by jean-claude van damme i hadn't driven this car in months either but i put a battery in it because i needed to get this car down and it uh started right up everything seems fine with it my 1985 mercedes 500 sl this is another video i did for cars and bids of buyers guide on this series of sls so you can look forward to seeing that so i need both this car and this car down so i put the sls up even though i do drive it quite a bit it's not going anywhere i saw some comments where people were worried because i put it on the top shelf it meant i was falling out of love with it because it's harder to access that's absolutely not true it's actually going to come down for the next car track car track 5 special we're going to do in florida for the amelia island concours so i believe that is everything inside outside there is a vehicle that i will show you in my next video and another one i'll show you some time down the road that i bought last year but we are going to continue in the 740i sports down to the car ninjas lair where we're going to check on the mini cooper he says is running and driving and then we're going to head over to the hangar where there's a lot more cars that i'm going to be selling and we have another reason to visit the ninja with the 740 the check engine light is on typical bmw but otherwise a very mint 80 000 mile car other than my dad having one of these when i was a kid i don't know why i'm so attached to it other than well what are you bringing it now door open other than the fact that i know these cars so well i have a great mechanic that loves working on it and it's just such a nice car to drive and well we have a lot of history i sold tons of these when i had my dealership as well and it was among my favorite cars to buy now the vehicle the car ninja has now the mini cooper s is something i don't have a good history with i've never owned one personally and the few that came through my lot were both disasters that i lost money on so i didn't like them before but i'm really wanting to like this one so we'll see ninja hey what's going on with the 2002 over there uh the ignitions are split in it oh the key doesn't turn it off well the money light came on on this car oh well we'll scan it real quick yeah but the mini's ready to drive yeah i just got rid of that dl oh that's yours no no one just like my white one yes is it gone it's gone awesome secondary system codes i'm gonna clear them second to your injection yeah i had to fight many of those in my dealer days the injection pumps and it works yeah there it goes so yeah if it comes back i'll just bring it and leave it with me okay i guess i'll leave it for just a little bit so i can take this out yeah very nice i hope you'll enjoy it so to recap this is a rare mc40 the first special edition mini cooper uh made with bmw it's basically a bmw but everything was broken on it really the clutch was gone the engine was leaking from everywhere suspension shot brakes were good yes that's the only thing interior was nasty uh but you tore the whole engine out resealed everything new clutch and it's all back together aligned fresh michelin tires on it and you put some go fast parts on it right yep a smaller pulley from the supercharger okay keys are in it i'll get the door okay all right here we go definitely more power we'll put way way more nimble too i can just dive right in that is so good that's really impressive actually i don't have i don't have anything in my fleet that drives like this it's so much fun even the best spider as small as it is it doesn't hammer like this more power the suspension does feel much better the clutch the clutch was slipping before so it feels way different i'm not sure if it was worth 10 grand but i'm certainly happy now this car is ready to rob banks with mark wahlberg and charlize theron except i won't do that i'll just uh get money the old-fashioned way to pay uncle sam just by selling hoopties so i guess we'll go to the hangar i'll show you the two cars i'm going to sell there this one being so fun makes it an easy decision and the fact that i'm buried in financially i don't want to take the loss if this car isn't worth all that much way to go ninja and bmw mini back in the day that car is way more fun and exciting to drive than any other new mini or a golf gti or a fiat 500 a barth i'd take that any day of the week so very happy with that one we're now in the hooptie hanger the storage facility that i get to use a very very nice storage facility that i get to use to overflow park some of my next to each other great complement cars i'm not getting rid of those both the cars seem to have gone up in value since i bought them so hopefully that continues to happen nor is the mercy logo going anywhere i'm trying my best to hold on to these three lambos hence why i'm trying to sell others which does include this the 89 bmw 325 ix i know i just got it up running fixed polished and it looks beautiful but i really haven't bonded with the car all that much i don't have a soft spot for e30s like so many different people and i would give it a chance but the problem is i need money and this car is probably pretty valuable only 94 000 miles on it rare all-wheel drive model in great shape and well the five-speed manual gearbox so this one will be selling no reserve on cars and bids soon hopefully in the next couple of weeks along with the bentley turbo r that i could not find a home for so it's gonna go no reserve on cars and bids i do not recommend that you buy this but i am listing it for sale if if you're crazy or an automotive masochist or just love bentley so much that you think putting up with the constant maintenance headaches is worth it well i i guess i guess you can buy it it comes with grey poupon which is on the dashboard next to it uh police car that i got on the show car issues my tv show that i shot a few years ago sticking around that's my dad's trans am and
